Ask the police whether they’ve found shell casings. When you find out they haven’t, you may want to accept those were blinking lights. Because they were.

    • Commieobamie

I tend to agree. If there are casings, I’ll change my mind.

      • Jim

There is a release photo showing shell casing on the floor, but not as many as required to explain the volume of fire.

        • Jim

There’s another photo of the dead perp’s face and chest. Around him are about 23 shell casings and a gray revolver about 2 ft above his head on the floor. The carpet is the same type shown in the other photos. You have to do some digging to find it, but it’s out there. I saw the photos in a slideshow format.

        • chicken-

They mean shell casings below the “4th floor muzzle flash” which wasn’t muzzle flash. I have to question people’s sanity that jump to that conclusion based on this video, where if you pay any attention to detail you can clearly see the lights continue to flash after the gunfire stops as she pans to the right and leaves. Muzzle flash with no sounds = not possible, nor is firing through a SEALED WINDOW without breaking it. Every nut around is ignoring these 2 blatant reasons why this is clearly not “muzzle flash” nor a “second shooter”.

    • Michelle

In any cover up they will be the first to be “lost”. The wounds on the bodies should give a clue as in the first burst they would all be facing one direction but we will never find out.

      • DemocracyRules

The survivors will tell us were the entry and exit woulds are.

  • John Nosser

Had to be in the same room because only two windows were broken and they were in the same room. This was proven when a video was made of the inside of the room the shooter was in, it showed two of its windows were broken and they were on different sides. However, there could have been more than one shooter, especially when the sounds of the gunfire changed rapidly. Fire was coming from one side and was louder, but within seconds fire was coming from the other side which was not so loud. Sometimes the higher and lower sounds happened simultaneously. One man could not have run 20 to 30 feet that quick to fire from different sides. The guns must have been belt fed. I have also seen pictures of police blocks away from the hotel hunkered down next to their squad car, while people were standing around on all sides out in the open. There is something very strange about the entire shooting. Almost like the entire thing was staged even though innocent people were killed. Maybe a lot more people are involved in this than the dead shooter. An unbelievable degree of evil has come into our country.

    • Robert Taylor

1,000 up votes and you have an above average IQ!

    • DemocracyRules

The recent evidence that Paddock had another person in the room may explain the second broken window. And it may also explain why contunuous rapid fire was interspersed with very short bursts. One guy was reloading.

      • DemocracyRules
      • Jim

Reloading a mag would take a couple of seconds or less. And in the first three volleys approximately 120 bullets were fired. I put the sound file in an audio editing program to estimate the amount and cyclic rate of fire (=~ 690 rds / min). I saw another video with wavering or oscillating fire (indications of bump fire) and approximately 120 rounds were fired in that too. He could have had 120 round drum mags, or two 60 round mags ganged together. You can find Youtube videos of guys firing these type of mags. Machine gun belt not necessary to fire that amount.

Only one person needed and sufficent. Now if we have convincing footage of overlapping fire, then that might point to more than one shooter. I think, however, only one person is needed to do this.

        • Jim

Clarity: 120 bullets *in each volley* were fired

    • Jim

      JN:
      1. “One man could not have run 20 to 30 feet that quick to fire from different sides”

Sure he could. There was a long enough pause between volleys for him to wall. My house is 35 feet wide. I can walk, not run, from one side to the other without losing any breath.

      2. “Must have been belt fed”

Could be, but not necessarily. There are 60 and 120 round mags for sale for the M16/AR-15. You can find Youtube videos of guys firing such sized mags on an AR-15. Or, there is one brand which allows two 60 rd mags to be ganged together to form a 120 “mag”. There is a Youtube video of a guy firing such a double 60 round mag, and he swaps the mags out quite quickly, maybe fraction of a second. Both mags face up so the shooter doesn’t have to flip the 2nd mag 180 degrees. It just, detach the first, slide the second one over, insert the second mag, pull the charger and fire. The two mags can also be detached from each other. I’m not saying that the shooter did this, but it is possible. I say 120, because that is approximately how many rounds he fired in one volley.

      3. “…while people were standing around on all sides out in the open.”

Possible Explanation: The police were better informed of the situation and knew the general direction of fire. The general public was confused, in some shock, or not aware of the true situation. You can see this in the earlier released videos. They are running full tilt, they’re walking, standing, sitting, some behind concealment, others in the open. They were trying to figure out what was going on. Fireworks, firecrackers, hotpoppers? They didn’t know. Nor did they know which direction to go because they had not yet identified the direction of the fire.

Occam’s razor. Not as fun, I know, but probably more likely.

      • jim

typo correction: They are *not* running full tilt…

and: for him to walk, not wall.

    • People who are untrained and/or inexperienced react differently to events. That may be one reason the reactions seem strange.

  • Voytek Gagalka

The cab was MOVING, thus coming sound is sometimes softer, sometimes more louder. It does not PROVE any “second shooter.” Camera is too much shaking to determine anything momentarily visible. What’s strange, however, (read this from other source) is that the hotel management which ALLOWED this one guy to have wire with cameras on the corridor and no one paid ANY attention to that! He was preparing for days for his attack, bringing whole arsenal to his room and no one stopped him? THAT would be the conspiracy, if you will.

    • Reality Check

Stop him for what, bringing bags to his room? How long did he have the camera in the corridor? I’d assume right before he started shooting.

      • Jim

        RC, I concur.

Such acts are aberrations in the west but not for jihadists. His actions while typical of the jihadist totally shocked his brother who, while knowing that he had some extreme leftist views, is reported as being shocked WRT the firearms alone, even without the carnage. Such a sudden change in behaviour(from verbal to actual GBH) and attitude fits in quite well with the concept of radicalization. I would not be surprised to find out that he had some terminal disease. A to the supposed second shooter I cannot comment but there were certainly >2 weapons fired from the sound alone(yes I know that he has not a few).

  • RCCA

I don’t see a proof of anything in this video except people’s obliviousness and selfishness, even in the face of a catastrophic event. These were not the heroes. People were just standing around the hotel lobby like zombies. The cab driver is at the scene but doesn’t even consider calling 9-11 to report, she is waiting for someone else to tell her what to do. Then after she inadvertently rescues a group and has removed these people from a war zone, they seem reluctant to even acknowledge her as a person or pay her. Odd to say the least.

As far as the gun fire is concerned, the cab is moving around the structure and that might affect the loudness or softness of the sound.

We haven’t heard anything about what was recovered from Paddock’s home(s). I’m sure there must be a tremendous amount of material there, and perhaps the FBI does not want to tip their hand. For example, it was reported today that he wired $100K to someone in the Philippines. Marilou has been traveling in Japan. With someone of his level of sophistication and affluence I expect there will lots of evidence of what he was up to and who he was connected with. NY Post is reporting that the “roommate” Marilou, is now a person of interest.

Do you think it’s possible that Paddock was framed-possibly murdered? Their could have been other shooters? Either he converted to Islam or other Daesh shooters were in the room with him. He might have been set up by Islamic State terrorists. People said shots were fired from different angles. A hispanic woman gave a warning 45 minutes before the shooting occured. Plus, how could a 66 year old man fire so many rounds with a fully automatic weapon that’s so hard to hold? That’s a lot of fire power. That weapon requires special licensing that only certain authority figures have access to. Besides, their is no way one person could drag all that equipment to his hotel room. Did anyone check for fingerprints in the room? Everyone just assumed Paddock was the killer. Other people were involved and I am not even sure that Paddock shot anyone at all.

      • Reality Check

Complete lunacy. No way a guy could bring ten bags of equipment into a hotel room? Couldn’t bump fire a semiautomatic rifle at a crowd? Some crazy Hispanic woman made a death threat, so she was in on the conspiracy too? Is that how ISIS operates, by sending people to warn about a terrorist attack?

        • Cannonkat

as ann barnhardt says, that “warning” could be, like the killings, a “demonic” event.

      • Cannonkat

Tripods were found next to the windows. radical islam? radical left? false flag? all are possibilities. he worked for lockheed & nasa, both a which has been involved in deep state skunkworks & blackworks. can we get a congressional inquiry or special commission? might there be a cover-up? etc etc etc.

      • Robert Taylor

It was very convenient that he made a video of himself and then shot himself? FRAMED!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Reality Check

You know, now that I listen to it around 3:40, the rate of fire does seem to slow down and speed up, which suggests that he really was using a bump stock rather than a fully automatic assault rifle.

    • Jim

Reality Check: Yeah, I heard that too. Bump shooting came to my mind also. The cyclic rate of fire of the first three volleys seems to be somewhat it the area of 690 rounds per minute. That’s how it looked in the audio editing program I used to analyse the sound waves.

600+ plus rounds is a lot, even for a machine gun. And those are just the rounds that hit targets. Many more missed entirely. Long bursts occurred.

The barrel overheats on automatic weapons, and so they are fired in short bursts. An AR-15 [or M-16] rifle can be modified to run fully automatic, but they also overheat. And magazines would have to be changed on automatic rifles. This points to a man-portable light machine gun, with belt feeding, and two operators. [One to shoot, another to feed].

To cool the light machine gun, firing paused. Other, short-burst automatic rifles were used. This means there were probably three shooters, minimum. That would explain why two windows were broken.

    • Reality Check

Do you ever hear more than one gun being fired at a time? I don’t. What, did the multiple shooters take turns?

      • Jim

RC, agreed, not in any of the other videos released with the first 24 hours. No audio evidence of overlapping fire. I’m curious about the authenticity of the one on this page.

    • Jim

They make 120 round drums for the M16/AR15. I estimated about 120 rds fired non-stop, 3 different volleys (360 rds altogether) in the video I saw of the first fire. He could also have used two 60 round magazine taped together, although I did not see a pause in the in the 120 rds full auto gunfire in an audio editing program I used to analyse it with. That is, I didn’t see any lull in it. There’s a Youtube video of a guy firing two taped 60 rd mags. He makes the swap amazingly fast, but there is a small pause between the swap. Both mags were facing up, so no need to flip the mag 180. As for could he fire the weapon that long without the barrel melting? Again, there is a Youtube video of a guy firing weapons as fast as he can reload them, and he is able to go through quite of lot mags before jamming. I mean, the forearm is on fire and the gun still functions. He might have used a different weapon at the other window, giving the first rifle a little time to cool down. Incidentally, I also estimated that he fired 11.5 rds per second, approximately, which translates to a cyclic rate of fire of 690 rounds per minute, which is in the ballpark of an M16.

      • DemocracyRules

Thanks. What do you think about
        – additional shooters?
        – a man-portable light machine gun?
        – belt-fed vs mag fed?

        • Jim

I haven’t heard the audio from any early videos that have overlapping firing. Don’t know if the shooter had a class 3 license or not, so don’t know if he could buy a machinegun (MG). Besides, MGs manufactured after some date in the ’80’s are outlawed for civilian purchase legally. I’ve watched Youtube videos of FPSRussia firing a M16 and a M249 MG, and they sound very similar. However, I lean towards M16 with 120 drum magazine, or two taped 60 round mags with both facing up (so to swap quicker with flipping the other 180 degrees to insert it). It is quite clear in the audio of the first three volleys starting 10 seconds before the singer ran from the stage that he fired 120 rounds non-stop. Since they make magazines of that capacity, a belt is not needed to explain the continuous fire before apparently reloading the weapon. As to the audio on this page, not sure what to make of it. Acoustics do tricky things. Also, how certain are we that this video’s sound wasn’t edited? It doesn’t seem to match the gunfire in other videos. Did the police fire their weapons at all?

If you want to see the video of the guy firing weapons until they fail, search Youtube for ULTIMATE AR-15 MELTDOWN! He’s got a lot of videos on his “site” of other weapons he tries to “melt down”.

          • Jim

Actually, I think the two 60 round mags weren’t taped. Instead, they were connected to a center block to keep them separated enough so the other mag did not interfere with this insertion of the other. Moreover, the one mag could be removed or reattached at will when desired. Search Youtube for dual mags on a M16. Sometimes, they might call them welded mags, but it is a misnomer in this case, since they detach from each other. We do not know what mags he really used, because they haven’t shown us that information yet.

          • DemocracyRules

Thanks for this! It’s all good.

        • Hailey

Hi. Gonna jump in here for a minute. I’ve been reading, listening, watching non stop about this massacre and I’ve pondered and debated scenarios with my boyfriend since this whole thing happened. The only point I wish to elaborate on is overlapping/nearly overlapping shooting, which I heard immediately in a particular video. If y’all want the link I can find it. But, there is definitely a rifle with a bump-stock blowing through rounds, maybe about a third of a mag (20 rounds- it’s been a few days since I last heard it so I could be wrong). However, unless he somehow was able to hang on to his bump-stock rifle and another rifle at the same time, I think it’s very unlikely there was one shooter. You can hear the rapid succession of many rounds and immediately after, you hear more of a burst fire – like a rifle with an echo trigger performimg a three round burst. Immediately after that third round goes off, we are back to hearing the bump-stock rifle. The rifle with the burst sounds closer and suppressed and almost like it’s coming from the opposite direction. Has anyone else heard this video? Also, the video from the helicopter flying over the festival grounds, flying close to the building to the point you can see inside the shooter’s room, shows what appears to be three broken windows, not just two. They’re all on the same level of the same room. One on the farther side and two more directly above the fair grounds. I think this is my last point, unless something else pops in my head before I wrap this up. In the photos that were leaked from inside the suite, where you can see the shooter’s feet and left hand with a black glove, there is a rifle standing on its bipod with his left leg underneath the rifle. It looks like it was placed there. Originally, I didn’t see that. I was looking at the chair that was by the broken window and I noticed how his body was at an angle. I thought he was kneeling on the chair, with the backrest against the window, resting a rifle on it, shooting at the angle in which is body is positioned, he blew his brains out and fell back onto the floor. The rifle nearly over his leg just doesn’t make sense. I also read an interview from a man that was in the room just below him, credible or not, it stood out to me because it made sense and potentially confirmed my thoughts. He stated that after the room was infiltrated by the SWAT team, it sounded like people were moving furniture around. I know there were multiple people who ran up in the suite and caused a lot of commotion searching for any other people but.. the sounds of furniture moving around? I don’t know what to think of that. Or any of this really. I really like trying to play the what if game and speculate and play scenarios of what could have happened, but it’s driving me up a wall and I want answers!

          • Hailey

To clarify- when I said like the suppressed rifle was coming from the opposite direction, I meant the opposite direction from Paddock. Meaning, the suppressed rifle was shooting into the crowd from behind, towards the hotel and stage.

      • Cannonkat

Well also he had 20 guns in his room the police said. switches guns. switches windows. plus when he was young, his dad was known as a heavily armed user of many illegal guns, his arrest warrant said. he learned from the worst of fathers. plus he’s a gambler of $30,000 a day – that sounds like a heavy gambolholic. heavy addictions have heavy shadow selves. and what was the relationship – was iton the rocks? all important questions. add hatred of trumpees, hatred of country music, maybe even hatred of his employ by lockheed and nasa, who knows….but all plausible…

Acoustics are a funny thing. I once failed to hear a battery of 12 lb cannon firing about 200 yds on the other side of a small hill. At that range I should have felt the ground rumbling and shaking, but I did not. I didn’t hear them, or the musket fire until I crested the hill. Strange stuff. The sound difference in the audio could be due to how the microphone was angled and changed angle or direction. If the vehicle was moving, if could be due to different acoustics at different points during the travel. Also, the shooter was firing from two different windows in different directions. Do we know the timeline of the video? Not sure what to make of this audio.

    • Bob

I forgot to mention that when we crested the hill we were told that they had been firing, both cannon and muskets, yelling and screaming, for 15 minutes already. Never heard any of it until I crested the ridge. It was at sunrise on a very quiet morning on a farm in the country, yet heard nothing. Acoustics depend on a lot of things, air temperature, wind currents, direction of the microphone, quality of the microphone, surroundings which might amplify or deaden sound, echos, etc. Besides, this sound does not jibe with the sound in the other videos. Where is this in the timeline of the shooting? Was it edited and modified? Do we accept its authenticity on face value? I don’t know, too many variables.

But would the F-I_B lie to us about islamic terrorism? Does Il Papa poop in the Vatican?

Why would one person set up two automatic guns on tripods and break two
    windows.
    THEY WOULDN’T

    TWO PEOPLE WOULD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Alleged-Comment

Yes, make it LIKE two people.

    • Jim

Or maybe you’re not sure which window will give the best advantage. Or you want to let the other gun cool down while firing another rifle from the other window. Or the perp decided he didn’t like the first broken window, for whatever reason, I broke a second window he liked better. Lots of possibilities. Not comforting, I know, but we simply do not have enough information yet.

      • Robert Taylor

        or there were two people!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Jim

All I’m saying is that only one is *sufficient* to do this. This is a possibility too.

          • Robert Taylor

I do hear what you are saying but disagree with you, this is not possible by only one person the truth will come out…

  • Alleged-Comment

All kinds of buildings, reflections (both light and sound), noise can do strange things.

    • Bob

Alleged: Also the angle of the microphone and the direction it is aimed, which seemed to vary quite a bit. Acoustics do strange things to the ear.

      • Bob

…and strange things on microphones. Ask any musician about mic placement on drums or acoustic instruments. Location of the mic varies the sound quite a bit. This mic in this video is being moved in all kinds of directions, both the car and the user who is holding the camera, relative to the sound source.

Can’t convince me he acted alone. We may never know the truth.

That video was too long and pretty unwatchable. A discription of what is shown with some time stamp info would make this piece informative. But otherwise, it’s just worthless.

    • Jim

Pearl, yes, I’d also like to know where it fits into the timeline of volleys because its audio does not fit with the earlier released videos. Short bursts of fire (maybe 10 to 20 rounds) as opposed to 120 round continuous bursts heard in the other videos. Maybe this was taken in the middle or near the end. Other questions: How authentic is this video? Has it been altered, edited, or modified? It would take long to modify it on a computer. Could be done in less than a hour. Not saying it was, just that it would be possible. As a amatuer musician, I know something about sound editing, just sayin’. :-) Maybe it is authentic, just recorded somewhere else in the timeline.

      • Jim

typo correction: It would *not* take long…

This idea is bullshiite. The closer sound is followed by echo’s. The distant sound is him shooting from the farther side of the hotel. DUH!

  • Bill Wyatt

In the report below he is said to have fired a couple hundred shots through the door as police approached his door before the swat team arrived. I am wondering if this might account for the different sound of shots in the taxi driver video. In that video it sounds like there are two different shooters because of the very distinct difference in the shots. But there would be a big difference in the sound between firing out the window into the mall and firing from the room into the hotel.

There were two other Hotels that were closer to the concert than the Mandalay hotel, and even closer still was an oil storage tank only about 300 yards away. The other two hotels had an open roof top that was easy to gain access to and had good spots for viewing the concert area. They were 600 to 900 yards away, while the Mandalay was 1,100 yards or more away. Not sure if the firings from the various rifles Paddock was using could have been effective from 1,100 yards or more. The number of people he wounded or killed indicated that he was hitting his target with every three or four shots fired. Pretty damn accurate from 1,100 yards. Thus It is much more likely many shots were being fired from a closer position. This indicates that more than one other person was likely involved. Makes one wonder, what the hell was going on here?
