Nice jihad attack: Paris Match ordered not to republish photos

Paris Match is forbidden from republishing CCTV images of the July 14 attack in Nice, a court has ruled. The sharia ruling, made late on Thursday, came after the Paris prosecutor called for the magazine to be removed from sale.

Why shouldn’t they show the photos? Why shouldn’t people see the savagery of the enemy? How can people know the face of the enemy if the elites continue to censor, scrub, whitewash jihad terror and the piety of its adherents?

From cartoons to carnage, Western elites sacrifice truth, freedom and our very lives in the cause of Islam.

Nice attack: Paris Match ordered not to republish photos

Paris Match does not need to pull an edition showing CCTV mages of the 14 July attack in Nice from France’s newsstands but is forbidden from re-publishing it, a court has ruled.

The ruling, made late on Thursday, came after the Paris prosecutor called for the magazine to be removed from sale.

The images show the moment a lorry, which killed 86 people, drove into crowds celebrating Bastille Day.

A victims’ group has accused the magazine of morbid sensationalism.

Nice’s Mayor Christian Estrosi also criticised the publication on the eve of the first anniversary of the attack.

On Thursday morning, the prosecutor asked the court to “order the (magazine’s) withdrawal from sale” as well as a “ban on publication in all formats, particularly online”.

But the court did not order the retraction of the magazines currently on sale around France,

Some retailers in Nice boycotted this week’s issue of the magazine, local press reported – although the magazine has since denied this.

Ahead of the ruling, the French journalist’s union SNJ criticised the prosecutor’s request, warning that it was a curb on press freedom.

In an editorial published on the Paris Match website shortly before midnight on Wednesday, managing editor Olivier Royant said the magazine “aims to fight tooth and nail for the right of citizens, and first and foremost of victims, to know exactly what happened during the attack”.

Adding that the editorial team wanted to pay tribute to the victims, Mr Royant explained that the magazine’s journalists had found that the attacker had carried out reconnaissance trips to Nice’s Promenade des Anglais for more than a year.

He argued that screen shots of the lorry’s deadly path had featured recently on TV, and that they were distant images of the scene in which victims could not be identified.

Tunisian-born Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, 31, ploughed the rented truck into a crowd of people as they watched a fireworks display late on 14 July 2016.

Children were among the dozens killed before police fatally shot the driver. More than 300 people were treated in hospital.

Images and footage of the attack and its aftermath were a controversial subject immediately after the murders.

A week on, French anti-terror police asked local officials to delete video images of the incident to avoid their publication – but officials refused, saying it would be destroying evidence.

The attack, claimed by so-called Islamic State, was part of a wave of jihadist-inspired murders in France.

Guess all those memes about the French are true?

This is what we were told was done in Russia, when I was in grade school. Real 1984 stuff. What is it exactly, that makes Muslims some sort of special group that we are unable to criticise? Who is behind this mass group think?

    • KitteeK

Was it Voltaire who said something along the lines of : “if you want to know who rules you, find out who you are not allowed to criticise”?
      Wise words…whoever said them…

we need more writers like Voltaire right now — an enlightenment era wit that could inform the West.

It all goes back to the master propagandist, Goebbels.

    • Fern

Look at the story by Pamela Hall above. You will see the warped SJWs in action. Many people in the media from reporters and anchors right on up the ladder have this same mindset. What we experience is the fallout of from these whack jobs.

uh huh, interesting. This happened in parallel:

BART Officials Hide Videos of Black Mob Violence

60 blacks rampage, rob, and beat passengers on the Bay Area Rapid Transport. Officials hide footage because it may cast blacks in a disparaging light. Same thing with the Muslims, the new protected class…

    • Suresh

This is why Independent , conservative media needs to be supported if the Truth about islamic criminals and sharia takeover needs to be exposed to the voting public.

And now Even GOOGLE to target criticism of Islam in new anti-First Amendment censorship purge

      • Inmate of Diversityland

When we lose our ability to openly discuss these things then there is little that remains but to stand at arms against a tyranical government.

But that a camel-merchant should talk with the angel Gabriel; and so justify cutting the
    throats of fathers and kidnapping daughters;

    and give to the defeated
the choice of his religion or death:

this is assuredly nothing any man
    can excuse.

at least if he was not born a Turk, or if superstition has
not extinguished all natural light in him…

François-Marie Arouet, Letter to Frederick II of Prussia, December 1740, referring to Muhammad.

That’s a beautiful poem, found in that ‘letter.’
I copied it for a file and printed it to see where the rest of that poem/letter went.
This is maybe off-topic some, but I suppose to excuse this digression we can say it goes to the important issue of a collective lack of clarity in our seeing islam, its religion and history, clearly…that is, seeing who it is that is knocking on our culture’s doors, and in some cases, trying to burn them down as well.
I’m talking about the literate way Francois-Marie Arouet — Voltaire — writes, that makes it come alive and make plain the degradation and destruction at the heart of islam: about mohammed and his pathetic blessing of cutting throats and giving the right to rape and enslave, ‘whom his right hand[s] possess’ the capture of children, the kidnapped daughter, the sword or submission. Read once the koran horrified me. I expected to find a companion to Christ, to Moses, the Abrahamic tradition…I found a counterfeit so thin and shoddy, so self-serving and obvious that it’s no wonder at several points his followers practically deserted him en masse. But the horror remains. The focus on ‘war booty’, which he claims is the ‘new thing’ he brought as a prophet from God — so yes, allah is focused on what you steal and can enslave and rape and make a sex slave after raids, this is allah’s focus and gift in the perfect person hood of mohammed, and if that doesn’t make you slightly ill, and alarmed? I would be surprised.

I just wish I read more powerfully perfected writing that seemed more common a century or two ago (i may be getting old here….lol), Churchill’s words on islam are as colorful and trenchant as you could wish for, there’s Thomas Jefferson, Voltaire of course, Mark Twain, and they had a particularly imageful and smartly referenced lexicon with which to describe the world that the world has lost some of, I think — as Fitzgerald said it would — to movies, to video, to social media now in its 140 character affectations. And now I’m grumbling like the truly old – at heart. lol.
We have also right now such great works on the subject of islam I was steered to as a lay reader: powerful and thoughtful things such as the books by Hirisi Ali and Pamela Geller’s books, hardly does the process of islamization come into a sharper relief than it does with her telling of a childhood visited by destruction at the hands of islam in Legbanon, and there’s Donie and Gabriel and Wood and so many are contributing to understanding and making plain the hidden face behind the veil that seems to confound the West. I really think the West has no idea how to handle and understand what they are dealing with, because they literally refuse to see it clearly, refuse to read the writers that could help them, and trust their instincts a little as they look deeper.

An anonymous source known only as “Deep Pockets” claims that CNN’s Anderson Cooper was in possession of a document containing very damaging information on Linda Sarsour. While reading the document in his office Cooper was confronted by the source who claims that Cooper swallowed the document then claimed it didn’t exist. Only pieces of the document were later found at a nearby hospital when Cooper had his stomach pumped. Cooper claims it was merely a bad burrito he had for lunch.

In a sane world no one would need any more damaging information on this sow sarsour than what she’s said publicly in her own words.
She would have been in prison or dead a long time ago.

What is the matter with the particularly stupid french? Why is there no outrage against the murderer and the ideology that he followed? As usual, the left find an easy target rather than dealing with reality. france deserves its dismal fate as muslim carrion.

    • Poppey

So according to you Banzi, “France” in the form of babies, young children and families out to watch the fire works on their national day deserve to die crushed under a lorry driven by a Muslim terrorist do they as “Muslim carrion” because of French politicians failings ?

Have you ever looked down upon the dead body of one of your children banzi ?

Do you have any understanding of what that feels like ?

      • Mahou Shoujo

Have you looked at dead children the street, murdered by muslims, and ever wondered why no preventive action was ever taken? Then after the fact, realized that despite the slaughter of children no action is planned to prevent this from happening again? Or are you well satisfied by singing “imagine” tossing a few flowers on the heap, and lighting a candle? Perhaps you are, as you western europeans are well practiced in the procedure.

        • Poppey

I asked you a question banzi.

          • Mahou Shoujo

If you don’t like my answer, that is too bad.

            R U from Banzi?

Maybe that is why I get cravings for pizza every once in a while.

  • This is more evidence just how far to the left most of Europe have gone in recent decades. Communism tried censorship as well, and it didn’t exactly work out well for them in the end.

The French authority has no power over us

a muslim curtain has dropped across the land of voltaire, who was loved by the french for saying that he would defend the right of those who disagree with him to do so. shocking how free speech and free press disappear when muslims arrive; the last thing they can tolerate is truth because their pagan god is a lie

Guess which one has the more OVERWHELMING FORCE to tell the other 4 or 5 people to SHUT THE UCK UP!!

  • Nostradamus the II

France needs ANOTHER Bastille Day to get rid of non muslim traitors that submit to Islam

French patriots should wake up and start to resist the suicidal elites with a robust, consistent, unrelenting campaign of sabotage on government tools/property that facilitate the current immigration policy/regime

One can burn immigration offices/facilities/projects to the ground, destroy ships/boats that are involved in rescuing immigrants from the Mediterranean sea, destroy vital infrastructure (water, electricity, food delivery routes) that support muslim “no go” zones, hack and sabotage muslim related organisations etc all functions that will inhibit the government from furthering their pro muslim agenda

One caveat is of course that, at any point short of full blown civil war, these patriots should not target any muslim physically

  • Drew the Infidel

If the French are so inclined to suspend their free speech rights to accommodate a gaggle of monsters, what was the logic behind hosting a state visit by President Trump on the very anniversary of Bastille Day, a leader whose stances on immigrant murder and mayhem is well known and on an occasion marking the unraveling of historic oppression in their country?

Why are these IDIOTS trying to hide the TRUTH , The Wars happened and that footage is always available. Someone is getting Terrorist Money to curtail the Truth. Civil war coming i feel.

  • Chris Wolf

As the cowardly mainstream media drop daily turds of deceit on America and the world, Trump marks summit after summit of historic leadership that they could never match even if they had integrity.
France is in desperation. Our first and oldest ally needs our help.
Trump goes to France and the piss-ant media follow to heckle him with their latest cynical, pitiful, loathsome dose of poison — Donald Trump Jr.’s innocuous meeting with a globalist/obamist ringer.
Trump defends his son implicitly and without the slightest alarm, while at the same time forging close personal ties with the new president of France — who is exactly the same age as Don, Jr.
In Trump, the genius of the founders and the goodness of America have unsheathed the sword of The New Crusade. Trump’s enemies lay everywhere bloody and dismembered on the field of battle. This is only the beginning. The end of islam in the West.

  • Rose Wilders

The other argument is that there is something ghoulish about seeing the murdered innocents lying covered in blankets on the streets; if I had lost a relative or friend, I would find the republication of the photo distressing. IF it was done to remind people of the dangers of Islam, fair enough. But I suspect there IS a ghoulish element, as many people perversely enjoy looking at images of the dead. It’s the same mentality as people laying flowers, cards and teddy bears for people they didn’t even know. At the time of Princess Diana’s death and the huge over-reaction to it, it became known as “recreational grief”, people using the deaths of others as “something to do”, a day out, like it was a trip to the mall.

A photo of the “neutralised” terrorist, by all means republish it, to show the maniacs that they are not invincible, and that there are consequences. BUT, and it’s a big but, if this was done to pander to Muslim sensibilities, then shame on everyone involved.
