Obama: ‘People committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ’

Obama: “Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the crusades and the inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”  Not yesterday, President Obama. Centuries ago. Not yesterday.

People committed terrible deeds in the cause of Allah yesterday, and the day before and the day before — but Obama refuses to say that.

Obama insists that “the future does not belong to those that slander the prophet of Islam,” but insulting Jesus Christ? He’s all in.

Jim Crow was not in the name of Christ. Slavery was not in the name of Christ. These are despicable statements from the leader of the free world. But jihad is in the cause of Allah and this he will not say.

Enemy in the White House.

President Barack Obama wants Christians to know Islam is not the only religion that has inspired violence and terror.

Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the crusades and the inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,” Obama said Wednesday. “And in our home country, slavery, and Jim Crow, all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Obama made the comments while giving a major speech on religion at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. Citing Islamic, Jewish, and Christian scripture, Obama touted his own faith.

“This prayer tradition has brought us together, giving us the opportunity to come together in humility before the Almighty and to be reminded of what it is that we share as children of God. And certainly for me this is always a chance to reflect on my own faith journey,” he said. “No matter the challenge He has been there for all of us. He certainly strengthened me through the power of his spirit.”

Obama went on to condemn violent jihadists who are “betraying” Islam. He specifically called out the Islamic State group that has “carried out unspeakable acts of barbarism” in the Middle East and the militants who recently massacred the employees of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

“This is not unique to one group or one religion,” Obama cautioned. “There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency, that can pervert and distort our faith. And in today’s world when hate groups have their own Twitter accounts and bigotry can fester in hidden places in cyberspace, it can be even harder to combat such intolerance. But God compels us to try.”

As for the cruzades, they were perfectly legitimate defensive wars, although as is inevitable there some excesses. However, many of the Christian knights who led the cruzades were truly valient and just men who put thier lives in danger to protect thPeir Christian brothers from jihad. What right did the muslims have to occupy the Holy Land, Syria, Egypt and the rest of the Middle East, all of which were part of Christedom. NONE, ONLY PILLAGE AND MASSACRES. Two thirds of the Christian world of the 7th century was destroyed by Islam. Thanks to the Cruzades, and the Reconquista in Spain was also a cruzade, the muslims were expelled from there and Queen Isabella was able to send Columbus to discover America. Thanks to the Cruzades Europe was saved from islamic barbarity. They were stopped at Vienna in 1529 and again in 1683, thanks to the diplomatic efforts of Pope Innocent XI and the brave Polish cavalary under their heroic King Jan Sobieski. In those days there were also cowards and traitors such as the Sun King Louis XVI and the King of Prussia.
The real Dark Ages were caused by muslim invasion and dominance of the Mediterrarean which put a stop to trade there. This has been proven by counting the number of shipwrecks there were from the time the muslims took over. They were greatly reduced due to a tremendous decrease in trade.
