White House Calls for ‘Thorough Investigation’ of Imran Awan, the Dems’ Muslim IT Spy Ring

6

The White House, through spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders, said there should be a “thorough investigation” of Imran Awan, the former information technology staffer hired by ex-Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz in 2005, who’s since been arrested at the airport trying to flee the United States for his home country, Pakistan.

Awar, according to various reports, has been the subject of a federal investigation since February.

But Wasserman Schultz kept him on as her House IT consultant, a position he worked for years, along with his two brothers. Records show the trio earned an estimated $4 million in tax payer salaries for part-time consulting IT work performed between 2009 and 2017.

Awan’s brothers have already left the country.

Awan, who’s been facing scrutiny for alleged fraud and inappropriate use of his congressional position, was arrested at the airport this week, after making a curious $300,000 wire transfer to himself in Pakistan.

Imran Awan has friends in the Democratic Party in high places.

Now, the White House has weighed in on the matter, saying a thorough investigaiton needs to be conducted to seee if Awan, through his IT access, has compromised national security.

The Daily Caller reports:

The White House called for a “thorough investigation” Thursday related to the arrest of Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s information technology staffer who was arrested at Dulles Airport while attempting to flee the country.

Imran Awan, Schultz’s staffer, remained on the job with congressional computer access for almost five months after the FBI started investigating him for fraud. Awan was arrested boarding a flight to Pakistan after wiring $283,000 from the Congressional Federal Credit Union to the same country.

“I do think it is something we should fully look into and there should be a thorough investigation,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.

Wasserman Schultz previously told investigators there would be “consequences” if Awan’s laptop, seized by police, was not promptly returned to her office.

Awan attempted to leave the country hours after The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group revealed that he is the target of an FBI investigation, and the FBI apprehended him at the airport.

Awan plead not guilty to a charge of bank fraud and was released, based on conditions that he remain on house arrest wearing a GPS monitoring device.

Let us know when you’re going to object to Steven Wasserman being named to head up the investigation?

“Wasserman Schultz previously told investigators there would be “consequences” if Awan’s laptop, seized by police, was not promptly returned to her office.” She told them. Wow. Who is she to make those kinds of threats. It’s obvious, her reaction about the laptop proves there’s something there. Will anything come of the “investigation” Probably not
