The Somali-born Minnesota police officer alleged to have shot and killed an unarmed Australian woman on Saturday had been lauded by Minneapolis’ mayor and feted by the local community when he joined the force in 2015.
“I want to take a moment to recognize Officer Mohamed Noor, the newest Somali officer in the Minneapolis Police Department,” Mayor Betsy Hodges wrote in a Facebook post when Noor began serving the city. “Officer Noor has been assigned to the 5th Precinct, where his arrival has been highly celebrated, particularly by the Somali community in and around Karmel Mall.”
In fact, The Washington Post reported that community threw a party for Noor – the first Somali-American officer to serve in the precinct. Minneapolis is home to one of the nation’s largest Somali communities.
“He came to the United States at a young age and is thankful to have had so many opportunities,” Thomas Plunkett, Noor’s attorney, said Monday. “…For him, being a police officer is a calling.”
“He is inspiring to young people in the community,” Hassan said. “He is very supportive and good with the kids. He is such a lovely guy.”
Noor, 31, attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis and earned a degree in business administration, management and economics, The Star Tribune reported.
But despite reportedly viewing the police force as his “calling,” Noor took a winding road to the department’s door. He first had jobs in residential property management and as the general manager of a hotel, according to The Star Tribune.
In his short time with the Minneapolis Police, Noor has had three complaints filed against him – two that are still open. The other was closed and Noor wasn’t disciplined.
On May 25, a woman accused Noor of assault and battery because he “grabbed her right wrist and upper arm” and inflamed a pre-existing shoulder injury while officers were forcibly removing her from her home and bringing her to a hospital.
Noor, who spoke Somali at home, divorced his wife in December, but documents obtained by The Star Tribune also suggest he was a workaholic.
An evaluator was reportedly sent to observe Noor and his son together for an unspecified reason and concluded Noor had an “even keel and calm demeanor.”
But questions continue to surround Noor’s alleged actions on Saturday night.

How do you “accidentally” while sitting in a vehicle, remove a pistol from its holster, chamber a bullet, turn towards the side the vehicle where someone is standing, then shoot multiple times across the other cop, though the door and into the person outside? Why would she be hysterical? She simply phoned 911 about a possible assault in her alley, and went to meet with the police. No cause to be in a panic, specially for a yoga teacher. So let me get this straight: He has to unholster his gun, release the safety, put his arm in front of his partner and then shoot not once but multiple times. And he has to be sure NOT to turn on his mandated body cam. How on earth is that an accident? The fact that he reached around his partner is sufficient evidence of intent to kill her!

I’m still holding back judgement until we hear all evidence. Right now, as it has been reported, it sounds very damning, but we all know how the press is with making police officers seem like killing lunatics whenever they report on police shootings, and 99 times out of 100, it’s not the case. I’d say Muslim Somali or not, we need to hear more before we trust these sources. I listened to, read all the links. I did not see reason to find him guilty as charged. I’d say we are hearing peephole evidence at this point but it could be exactly as is, which goes deeper into the disturbed end of why this happened. Let’s hope for everyone’s sakes, these news sources are the equivalent of biased reporting. Our police officers need safety on the job, not suspicion and violence from the very people they are trying to protect. There are plenty of Muslims who are not violent nor abusive.

Unless there is other footage and the other cop turns on him- nothing will be done. Riots will occur if he is charged or found guilty. Perhaps it is my bias as a mental health expert (I am not professionally working in this area, though), but my first impression of this incident was that the wacko Noor hallucinated; that he hallucinated something dangerous about the woman. Then, the guy must have a perceptual problem, as any loud noise or fire-crackers he may have heard came from the environment, elsewhere, not from anything the poor victim had in her hands, not from her direction. Problems with integrating his perceptions of the environment. So the guy is totally inept as a police officer and ought not be a cop to begin with, a rather sinister caricature of Quick Draw McDraw. This is an incident in which the notorious “affirmative action” policies are endangering the public. Plus, if it is true that he went on to send his condolences to the victim’s family, come on, he must believe that he is as innocent as Heaven, some sort of a sociopath? Or someone too traumatized from early memories of violence in Somalia to function well in society, least of all as a cop? Or both things?

If you read the aforementioned islamic “holy’ books and you can say islam is peaceful you are either an idiot or a liar! islam has given the world 1400+ years of cowardice, terror, murder, rape, genocide, pedophilia, bestiality…. and it is responsible for more human murders than all of the other despots of history combined! As of today there have been over 31,000 deadly islamic terror attacks since 9/11/2001 and yet it is a “religion of peace?! IF you think islam and muslims are good and peaceful I imagine you would be comfortable having Charlie Manson, Squeaky Fromm and Sadie Mae Glutz come to dinner and a sleep over? islam is what it is! Too many people have an “opinion” of islam as religion of peace and they have never even read a single word of the koran while they ignore the reality of this evil everyday? of 13 counts of premeditated murder, 32 counts of attempted murder, and unanimously recommended he be dismissed from the service and sentenced to death. Nothing is happening to him and nothing will happen to Noor.

The woman who was murdered was named Jessica Damand and she was in Minneapolis to be married in a month.
Apparently there was some kind of sexual assault and Damand called the police to report the crime as is her right.
It is not clear if Jessica Damand or some other woman was the victim of the sexual assault.
Jessica Damand was dressed in her sleeping clothes but in no way was she inappropriately dressed.
The police have the DUTY to investigate the crime and not murder a witness.
Instead of investigating the crime the Muslim cop Mohammed Noor shot Damand in the abdomen.
Perhaps Noor shot Damand to prevent her from identifying the rapist as a Somali Muslim.
As for the picture of the woman in the hijab that is the Mayor of Minneapolis Betsy Hodges who bends over backwards for the Muslim invaders.
From your initial comment it sounded like you were blaming Jessica Damand for what she was wearing and that somehow prompted the shooting.
The photo with the Minneapolis Mayor in a hijab was taken some time ago.
The cow wearing the hijab is the “honorable” ??? Mayor of Minneapolis Betsy Hodges and the picture was taken some time before the Muslim Cop murdered Ms. Damand.
Mayor Hodges is playing the part of a good Dhimmi.

This is really consistent with the stats that show that far more Whites are killed by cops each year than Blacks.
So now White riots against police brutality? Seemingly, a frank discussion about police brutality is badly needed in this nation. But, also, police officers are risking their lives for us civilians. I do not know what happened in Minneapolis. Yet I am myself an immigrant, 25 years in the United States, many times I had to call the cops, never had incident with any of them because I grew up, abroad, in a military dictatorship in which not showing deference to a cop could mean arrest and far worse. I am sure that Australia, with its tight gun control laws, is a far less threatening social environment for police officers. But each country is different. My advice to everyone near cops is: keep your distance, no weird movements, show with your body language and attitude that you are not a threat to the cops. Or some weirdo like Noor might kill you.

Both officers sitting in the car, women standing outside by the driver’s side window. Officer SITTING in the Passenger seat, draws his weapon, and fires at the women through the driver’s side window. So the 3 bullets are flying past the officer in the driver’s seat, how dangerous and just plain stupid. Fire him, attempted murder on the officer in the driver’s seat too.
