James Comey Admits Trump Was Not Under Investigation

17

James Comey, fired FBI director, said in his pre-released remarks to the Senate Intelligence Committee that he wasn’t investigating President Donald Trump.

Bam. Did you pick that up?

Comey admitted he was not investigating Trump. And that’s as good as saying that the left’s whole argument that Trump fired Comey to save his own White House skin is little more than a witch hunt.

Story continues below advertisement

It’s like the left’s biggest fake news item of the year crumbled.

All eyes are on Washington, D.C., as James Comey takes the Senate stage to tell what he remembers of his private conversations with President Donald Trump.

How else to interpret it?

Look, even NBC News led with the shocking admission:

“Fired FBI Director James Comey said in prepared testimony that he told President Trump he was not personally under investigation, and that Trump pressured him to say so publicly to lift the “cloud” on his presidency.

“In testimony released Wednesday by the Senate Intelligence Committee ahead of his appearance Thursday, Comey also confirmed an earlier news report that Trump pressured him into dropping the FBI investigation of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, pressure Comey considered inappropriate.

“The testimony was released at Comey’s request, according to committee chair Richard Burr, R.-N.C.”

This is rather astonishing, given the entire Democratic Party has spun the notion that Comey had been investigating Trump for various un-executive office-like actions — illegal actions, illegal statements, illegal attempts at collusion — and it was that investigation that led Trump to fire him.

The White House has repeatedly denied that line of thought.

But the media and the left?

They kept up the mantra just the same.

Again, from NBC:

“‘I had understood the president to be requesting that we drop any investigation of Flynn in connection with false statements about his conversations with the Russian ambassador in December,’ Comey wrote. ‘I did not understand the president to be talking about the broader investigation into Russia or possible links to his campaign… Regardless, it was very concerning, given the FBI’s role as an independent investigative agency.’

“Comey said he and his aides at the FBI decided not to report the conversation to the Justice Department.

“‘After discussing the matter, we decided to keep it very closely held, resolving to figure out what to do with it down the road as our investigation progressed,’ he wrote.

“Comey said he did tell Trump on Jan. 6 that the president was not personally under investigation. When the president asked Comey on March 30 to spread the word that he was not under investigation, Comey said he decided not to tell Trump that the FBI didn’t want to make that statement public. In part, he said, that is because such a statement would have to be publicly corrected if Trump did come under investigation.

“Nonetheless, Trump’s outside counsel, Marc Kasowitz, said the president took Comey’s Jan. 6 statement as a vindication.

“‘The President is pleased that Mr. Comey has finally publicly confirmed his private reports that the President was not under investigation in any Russian probe,’ Kasowitz said in a statement. ‘The President feels completely and totally vindicated. He is eager to continue to move forward with his agenda.'”

Comey’s testimony is set for Thursday — and all eyes are on Washington, D.C., for the fireworks.

It is worth a contempt of Congress charge, at the very least.

Slick Willie said he did not have sex with that woman, to the Supreme Court, and got away with it. Now he’s paid hundreds of thousands for speeches, what a joke our leader are.

Like so many and so much of our country and its people as we survey the scene today, Comey could have been and been remembered by history as an honorable FBI director if not for his contact with the virulent contagion of obamaism, and more specifically speaking, with obama.
Just yesterday we saw pictures of the Prime Minister of Canada contracting the contagion at a restaurant, and looking at the chaos and savagery that is Europe today we see the poison fruits of the contagion having run rampant throughout all the leaders there.
obama: still at-large.

When, oh, when, will we ever learn of every occasion on which obama muttered who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?

Who does Comey think he is, Dashiel Hammett? This crap reads like dime novel detective story, “The door swung open and I saw Reince Priebus’ eyes.” WTF?

I know hu. I’m surprised he wasn’t dragging a large wooden cross behind him as he entered the hearings. And then the comment that “if he had been stronger” Seriously? He came off to me like a disgruntled employee with an axe to grind. He totally threw Pres. Trump under the bus! Then we had to listen to idiotic DemoRats trying to make it sound like there was obstruction of justice. They’re so obsessed with Trump they can think of nothing else! They need to knock it off and start representing their constituents and here’s an idea do their jobs! I hope they pay dearly in 2018 at the polls! It’ll serve their ignorant asses right!

Agreed. Who but a dishrag pajama boy would interpret the word “hope” as a threat? And this was our top law enforcement official? And agreed about the commiecrats and their disgruntlement act wearing thin with voters.

Comey displayed partisan politics at it’s best. He was against Trump even before the election. He said he didn’t trust Trump but he let HC off. He colluded with Loretta Lynch. He is more than a disgruntled employee he is a puppet doing the will of the puppet master and not the will of the people he swore to protect. And just when did he write those mysterious notes? He had a private conversation with the President, his boss, and he was head of the FBI, why should any one believe what he wrote, and then he gave them to a friend to give to the press! He’s a leaker. Lock him and HC and LL up.

Next thing that we may find out is that Comey was coveted to Islam by Obama? He certainly acts against the people who want to Make America Great Again.
