Catholic Bishop Worries Jihad Attacks Will Bring Out ‘Anti-Muslim Sentiment’

52

Talk about displaced concerns. A Catholic bishop speaking in the aftermath of the Islamic terror attack on Marawi City that left more than 100 dead and destroyed the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians said he’s now worried about the potential for anti-Muslim bias to creep into the community.

Shouldn’t he be more worried about the Islamic persecution of Christians that’s going on around him?

But he’s not. In an interview with Aid to the Church in Need, a global charity, Bishop Edwin dela Pena wondered how the recent buring of the cathedral — and hostage-taking of Father Teresito Suganub, the vicar general, would impact locals’ relations with Muslims.

Story continues below advertisement
Marawi City is on fire after Islamic terrorists attacked, killing 100 or so, taking a priest and church congregants hostage, and buring a cathedral.

Ostrich head in the sand? You decide.

Here’s the story, from Zenit (thanks to Jihad Watch):

“In an interview with international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need, Bishop Edwin dela Peña, who heads the Prelature of Marawi in the Philippines, discussed the situation in Marawi City where Muslim extremists have killed more than 100, burned down the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, and are holding hostage Father Teresito Suganub, the vicar general, along with a dozen or more staff members from the cathedral. To date, some 12,500 families have been displaced by the violence as the army is clashing with the militants …

“How will this situation affect Christian-Muslim relations in Marawi?

“‘Unavoidably, some of the natural biases that Christians have against Muslims will be stirred up again. Interfaith dialogue is a very fragile process and these incidents can destroy the foundation that we have built. Some people are fueling these anti-Muslim sentiments—just as we’ve made a very good headway improving the relationship between Muslims and Christians in Marawi. In fact, comparing our relationship with Muslim-Christian relations elsewhere in the country, I can safely say that ours is the best. For example, our schools—which have been operating for decades—have always been dear to our Muslim brothers and Christians alike. These institutions have trained the city’s professional class, building up a kind of patronage and loyalty to our schools among the Muslim population.'”

Keep the anti-Muslim sentiment down so that eventually they can take over completely then murder tools like the good Bishop here. I thought Filipinos had a higher IQ than this.

A large portion of the Catholic Church has gone ‘mental’ – and this includes the absurd Pope Francis. It doesn’t care about Catholics and Christians generally being murdered brutally by Muslims, but worries about Muslim violence bringing out “anti-Muslim” feelings. Men such as this clown have serious judgement and mental issues. Logic fails them. They are not outraged by Muslim savagery and pander to Islam. God does not exist in their lives or logic would be evident in their sentiments.

How does this priest expect us to react? Like any fight you have to fight back. If we don’t we will lose everything to Islam. You can’t pretend that these things aren’t happening and they will go away on their own. They won’t. Anti-muslim sentiment will continue as long as they at the way they have been doing. He needs to get his head out of the sand

The lack of logic from RC priest after priest is astounding. Why would any sane person be tolerant toward people – Muslims – who are savagely murdering ‘their’ people? It seems more and more that the RC is turning its back on God because increasingly its clergy behave as if downright stupid and embrace Islam that even a half-wit can see is the epitome of evil.

After studying the history of the crusades to the Middle East, more and more I applauded the RC Church for retaliating to 400 years of Muslim aggression in Sicily and southern Italy, but now there exits no spirit or courage of those men who made enormous sacrifices to smashed the Muslims at Dorylaeum, Antioch, Jerusalem and elsewhere. There should be a rebellion in the RC church, but no, most priests have a mouth full of teeth and toward the Pope behave as if he is deity and thus not to be opposed. Hey folk, this miserable joke is just a human being – and a pretty evil one at that.

It must be perfectly clear that non-muslims do not tolerate being bombed, butchered, raped or hurt by muslim fanatics without strong resistance.
There is no islamic supremacy, such hubris must not be supported nor given in.

In my opinion this message will be understood if backed by power. This seems to be the only language recognised by terrorists.

The rom. kath. church is a slimy, corrupt organisation, always an the side of the powerful, always on the side of the money.
Just read Karl H. Deschner: ” The criminal hiostory of the christ. church” – specially their behaviour in WW 2
There are still many in the rom. kath. church who want to work together with the Musels to get rid of the Jews and their religion.
Pope Pius XII; autum 1943; ” I will not believe that the ( german ) east-front is broken “. Then the Vatican started to change slowly the side to the winner, but still trying to get a peace agreement that let the Nazis in power ( knowing about the fate of the Jews ).

Retarded or not. They are complicit.
Has a Vatican-church representative ever spoke about Ottoman-empire General & Nazi-overseer Amin Al-Husseini, about Hitler’s admiration of the Muhammad-cult, about enslavement of Africans since sadist Muhammad invented it?
Atheism can be a first helpful step to face reality.
#Ban Islam, save lives worldwide & free the African slaves from Saudi Arabia to Mauritania, the Biafra-leader, the Leavenworth 10, Israeli soldier Azaria, Salim Masih & so on.

Pope Benedict gave a famous address at Regensberg, Germany which made a detailed case with documented historical evidence as to how and why Islam went off the rails. He was universally criticized and the MSM shunned him from that point on.

If he’s the Messiah why didn’t he make a Youtube-channel after his ouster?
He had the chance to become the most interesting whistle-blower & human rights-activist after the Vatican kicked him of the papal throne.
But I guess he didn’t ever talk about the information I shared.
The Vatican-group is theist so they’re always more or less tolerant & submissive to reality.

This insipid token defence of Christianity is a disgrace, the Bible says “So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth”. That is precisely what is and should be happening. Catholics are not muslims, muslims are obligated to hate and murder Catholic and all other non muslims. Lets get the battle lines drawn, there is no value in a dead army of victims, even if they are called martyrs.

The Bishop is clearly mentally disordered. Why would someone so high up in the church make such an absurd statement. The underlying message he’s telling his fellow Catholics is ‘let them kill, rape, bomb, whatever. To defend yourselves against a ‘peaceful’ religion would be wrong. So, just let them do what they do.’ Also sounds like he was ‘instructed’ to say that.

The more socialists demand and get, the more they will try and take. It is time to punch them in the whiskers, then inform them that they will be paying their own way, no more welfare. It would be a good time to limit one wife as a dependant as well. No more welfare brood sows for anyone.

I have friends who believe it`s proper to have more than one wife, but improper to not be able to support them. They get their beliefs from the Old Testament. I disagree. Have known a “brood sow” also. *8 kids , 8 different fathers, She was collecting state money to make up for a couple dead beat daddys, and child support for the others. When we met her, we were selling one of our buis. , she came to buy it and was preggers w/ #9.

The Catholic Church under Francis has taken a downturn of monumental proportion. Claiming moral and spiritual parity with a religion spawned in the very bowels of hell, re: Islam, makes quizzical false distinctions, watering down what ever is left of authentic moral Catholic teaching. Catholic priests cannot speak out against Islam. It is a dictum. It is a given. No Bishops dare say a critical word. It is forbidden. The canonized saints which clearly described the demonic and corrupting influences of Islam are ignored, ie: Cardinal John Henry Newman. The third secret of Fatima is happening right in front of our collective faces and very few see it. Islam is a creeping infectious cancer that unless erased from the earth will leave no earth left worth inhabiting.

The senior ranks of the RC church seem to be full of such idiots, who are so willing to follow their ‘saviour’ in turning the other cheek. They seem not to notice that abusing all other religions is an integral part of Islam, but nobody is allowed to criticise Islam. JC was never asked the basic question what do you do after they strike the other cheek?
We have been turning the cheek for far to long in the face of the most extreme provocations and atrocities

Come on! Shouldn’t these Catholic leaders in the church be more concerned about the horrific attacks on Christians? They’re always worried about the effects on Muslims. It really drives me nuts! The Catholic Church needs to get a clue but don’t expect that to happen anytime soon if ever. They always seem to be on the wrong side of history like at the end of WW2 when they were helping the Nazis get safely out of Germany. Just saying….
