ROGER AILES DIES….. and FOX dies with him

57

The titan is dead. Gretchen and Megan killed him. For those of us who hoped he would head a new network to fill the vacuum left by a now moribund Fox, well, that dream died too.

Fox News has been moving to the left and its ratings reflect the abandonment of its loyal viewers. They are tanking while MSNBC takes the lead. I kid you not. Remember, it was not long ago that Fox beat the competition with double, sometimes triple the ratings. We are talking decades of unchallenged dominance.

Ex-Fox News head Roger Ailes dead

The Hill, May 17, 2107:

Former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes died Thursday morning at 77, Fox News reported.

The network shared a statement from Ailes’s wife Elizabeth Ailes announcing the death. The statement was first obtained by conservative website The Drudge Report.

“I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning,” the statement said.

“During a career that stretched over more than five decades, his work in entertainment, in politics, and in news affected the lives of many millions. And so even as we mourn his death, we celebrate his life.”

Ailes resigned as the head of Fox News in July 2016 after 20 years leading the network, amid sexual harassment allegations.

Sad…very sad…He was set up by the women who would do anything to get ahead and also make more money in the process … https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2858cb52ee2b841a0b5cb341c8095f94f847f5cb0ac9e391fba3f4bee22e2fd0.jpg

        De mortuis nil nisi bonum

        • Mahou Shoujo

Nope, we are responsible for our actions, what legacy we leave can be discussed. Anything done life can and will be discussed after death.

          • Seadog48

“Another guy who could not keep his pecker in his pants.”

First, in today’s PC environment and America’s penchant for litigation, complimenting a woman’s new hair style can become sexual harassment in the hands of a greedy lawyer. Especially if a guy has a lot of money and doesn’t want scandal. A casual remark or a
risqué joke can lead to a sexual harassment lawsuit. Nothing to do with keeping one’s pecker in one’s pants.

Second, I usually agree with your remarks in this forum and also agree that, “Anything done in life can and will be discussed after death.” However, Mr. Ailes wasn’t dead 24 hours and your remarks about his pecker seemed to me to be disrespectful. Also, for balance, his legacy also included some notable accomplishments that were not mentioned.

I don’t want to start a cyber feud. I just happen to disagree with your summary of the recently deceased Mr. Ailes.

          • scudrunner

I am an example of sexual harassment because I had complimented one of my patients about her hair. It takes two to have sex and unless it is forced upon her she should not cry wolf years later when she feels it is time to leave her job. Too often girls feel “guilty” after a wonderful night of sex and then claim oh! he raped me. BS

          • Seadog48

Thanks for sharing your unfortunate experience. Sexual harassment and rape are serious offenses and should be punished to the full extent of the law. However, too often there are phony cases like yours that unjustly cause grave harm to the accused. Aside from the monetary pain, the damage done to one’s good name and reputation is almost irreparable. Here is a link to an article from the Navy Times about a navy Seal who was sentenced by a kangaroo court for a rape that was actually consensual sex. A retired admiral involved in the case has finally come forward to defend the sailor but it may be too little too late. Sorry to hear you went through what many other men, especially those on U.S. college campuses and in the military, have also experienced. The link is below.

          • Mahou Shoujo

You are fully entitled to your opinion, it would be contrary to my beliefs if I did not accept your right to having them. We disagree on this point, totally acceptable, worth while to discuss. Like civilized persons, a conversation does not have to end in a conversion.

      • Enzo Nahum

What do you know? Do you have proofs or experience with him?

        • Mahou Shoujo

fox news and ailes have one thing in common: they’re both dead.

    • Drew the Infidel

disclaimer: many moons past I ececuted my Enemy`enema (media) by a 12 Boy Scout Daisy Red ryder BB gun firing squad.
It, the t&v, was trahed in full dishonor. Since I only have second hand “information” from nauseated vivtims of the Fox “Cleavage and Comedy” medicine show I recuse my self from criticism.

I do, however , am an avid listener of Lou Dobbs and Judge Pirro on satelite. The are always right on.

    • lato_sensu

12 Boy Scout Daisy Red Ryder BB gun firing squad. – that’s good –

Little Miss Muffet, set on a tuffet, eating her curds and
whey; along came a Girl Scout, gave out a shout, spider, spider and used her
RedRider, to killed the spider that day.

Dobbs is the only talking head I’ll watch anymore. It’s hard to believe Dobbs was once on the Crescent News Network.

We need that awesome media they have in China. Asians are sooo much smarter than we are.

      • Mahou Shoujo

What we need is to stop believing every sloe eyed cow with a plunging neck line who utters pronouncements of what is alluded to have happened.

        • michaelofsydney

Now why are you getting all thingy about plunging necklines!

          • Mahou Shoujo

Insane jealousy as no one notices if I leave my blouse unbuttoned all the way down.

        • Drew the Infidel

Agreed. The plunging necklines are an indication that their jugs are the extent of the depth of their character. I am an admirer of the female form the same as any other red-blooded American guy, but when you only have two reasons to remember a certain chick, and both those reasons are under her shirt, you better check your hole card.

          • Scorpio

You have 2 lawyers debating a point – one male and one female. The male looks totally professional….suit, tie, buttoned up shirt, fabulous Italian leather shoes. The female is wearing a tight, short, revealing, sleeveless dress and 8 inch high heels no normal woman could ever walk in. I’ve hated FOX for a long time because of their exploitation of women, (the women obviously are good with their exploitation, no one forces them to wear this crap). FOX is becoming MSNBC LITE. If I have to see Marie Barf one more time I’m going to have to cancel FOX on my cable package.

            You too.

    • freebird

      I like Fox-News very much.
Hannity, Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, Gutfield they are good. Also Judge Jannine etc.
For me Fox-News is the last Standing for values in this Mass-Media- leftie-Propagana-dirt.
      Fox-News deserves support not bashing.

      • Mahou Shoujo

If you like it, support it. Personally, I do not.

      • Fatimah Mohamed

Judge Janine is a criminal who let others take the fall. She is a pig and a slut.

        • michaelofsydney

Oh I don’t know. I like Judge Jannine as she highlighted what a pack of wankers are Muslims and that they are really stupid and murderous and are either rapists or approve of raping little girls. Oh whoops….sorry Fatimah Mohammad….didn’t mean to insult you

        • freebird

Better I dont tell you what I think about stupid, repulsives Musels.

          • Mahou Shoujo

            Love it.

      • Drew the Infidel

Agreed. I like it also, but like anything else in life, you have to pick and choose. I do NOT watch Geraldo Rivera, Juan Williams, Martha McCallum, or Sheperd Smith. EVER! You have to realize Fox News has more liberals on its payroll than all the other networks have conservatives combined.

        • freebird

Agree. I also dont like this guys who play the liberal part like Rivera etc.
But as Europäen I´m happy with Fox-News ( Hannity I like most ) but may be you can tell me better News cannels.
Breitbart I also know now just for 3 month and I like it very much.

          • Drew the Infidel

I stick with Fox exclusively and use the mute button freely, taking the good with the bad. I remember when Fox News and Dish network got into a pissing contest a few months ago over their contract renewal and Fox was taken off the air. Scratching around the other networks looking for something comparable, I more fully understood that desperate feeling a drug addict gets when hurting for a “fix”.

          • freebird

Keep your freedom of speech and independence from government.

  • NotTheMama

RIP Mr. Ailes. FNC is not lasting very long without him. They have more than joined the ranks of LSM.

  • The real architect is still around though, but probably retired, in Joel Cheatwood, who started that style when he was with Ed Ansin owned WSVN in Miami (Ansin is still the owner along with WHDH in Boston). When Fox News started, Cheatwood was the first hire.

  • Midnattsol

Maybe he tried at the beginning, but if it bleeds it leads and even Fox kept its viewers hooked with constant outrage (and legs)

    • Drew the Infidel

What are you doing looking down there?

  • Christine Woodall

RIP Mr. Ailes. We need a conservative news tv outlet. Now

  • Drew the Infidel

His work at building Fox News from the ground up will outlast phony claims of a sexual nature. Look at the accusers. Gretchen Carlson, a washed up, shallow beauty queen desperate for attention, Megyn Kelly, a total neurotic, and then a pack of unattractive dogs like airhead Kirsten Powers, ugly ass liberal (aren’t they all?) Julie Roginski, and terminally disgruntled Andrea Tantaros. I side with Roger Ailes. Look at his provable accomplishments instead of cheap rumors.

  • BigMG

So disappointed to see the lack of civility in the world today.
This is where and why Conservatives miserably fail and will never ascend. Their inability to unite.
Ailes created Fox News as a Conservative alternate to Clinton News Network, and all other Progressive leaning media.
He didn’t create FNN as anybody’s personal agenda machine. But true to form, Conservatives idea of what Conservatism is has been defined to the man and not the movement.
Ailes did a great thing and will be sorely missed.

OAN = One America News is now the very best news channel and it is what Fox USED to be.

  • Jeanne Ballard

I f FOX does indeed got liberal ..Watch CRTV

    • Dorrie

Like I posted below, One America News – OAM, is how Fox USED to be. It’s balanced and actually leans a bit to the right.

  • Henry Reardon

One America News – reminiscent of the 60’s newscasts, interspersed with “public-service” pieces about the Constitution and/or US History, along with non-bloviating opinion segments. Hope the Fox News core team-members will begin anew, absent all of the “fluffy” crap, like cooking, and animals, and participatory sports, and…, or join up with OAN and start kicking some liberal arse.

  • joe1429

Soo Sad about the way this genius, who had a heart of gold towards his employees passed. God bless you, mr ailes.. you were ONE of a kind.. RIP
