New Yorkers of the Left gathered to protest President Trump’s first visit to NYC since his inauguration. A protest that was organized by Working Families Party, Rise and Resist and RefuseFascism.org
Donald Trump, the Fascist-in-Chief, is returning to New York City for the first time since the inauguration to give a speech on the Intrepid, which is essentially a museum for American military conquest.

Managed to arrive outside the Intrepid (at 46th street) at about 3 pm, to catch the arrival of the disaffected hoards. Perfect timing.
With protest signs held high, the Crybaby Left outside the Intrepid was represented by two groups. One assembled at 44th st and 12th ave and was more visually inclined; lots of Statues of Liberty crowns mixed with snarky signs played eagerly to the cameras.
The other group outside the Intrepid at 47th and 12th ave was the more boisterous of the two. Snowflakes and Crybabies. Temper tantrums that raged on for hours as they chanted and clanged away on their pots and pans: Power to the People! [Flicker slide show Part 1 ]

Next I headed back to 46th, where banners were being displayed and draped from the pedestrian bridge. The eponymous “Dump Trump” and “Save Our Democracy”
Miscellaneous pictures of the protest event with a few signs that were stragglers hanging out at 46th St. In particular, were the banners flown from the bridge (not allowed). The police moved them politely from the over-hang so they decided to walk back and forth for awhile.
Finally the police herded – literally – everyone from the bridge. Slowly but deftly the bridge was cleared. There is a brief look at the Intrepid-side of 12th Ave. where a few protestors wandered amongst the dinner guests waiting outside. That, too, was brief as these protestors were herded back across the highway. [Part 2 Flickr slideshow]
Protest Trump must have banners (of course). Never let a bridge go to waste. Have banners – Will hang them (or hold them high.) Which means the Snowflakes hit the bridge for a brief while til the police said (politely) Enough. Move along. Which they did. Sort of.
One banner, Dump Trump, marched slooowly back and forth (making a free-speech point) THEN, the police deftly herded- literally -everyone, tourists and protestors off the bridge. Trump was due to arrive, though he actually arrived hours later. Whatever – the bridge was now CLEAR. [Part 2 – Video]
After being shepherded from the bridge, I headed across 12th ave. to in front of the Intrepid, All the attendees were still waiting outside. dressed in formal attire and waiting. That’s when I noticed the protestors gathered at 47th street. As I got closer I also HEARD them. This was the advertised Pots and Pans Brigade.

It was hours before The President arrived. He was delayed. No matter. The malcontents, cry babies and snowflakes hung-in there. They had plenty do to with their chanting, posing for the cameras and banging on their pots and pans. No one would be allowed a respectful evening of commemoration.
Trump touched down at JFK (he landed around 6 p.m.) the protesters had already been gathered for hours along the West Side Highway across from the U.S.S. Intrepid, the maritime museum on the Hudson River, where Trump will attend a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary the World War II Battle of the Coral Sea, and later meet with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Proud and thankful Americans were there, too. However, they arrived much later so I didn’t see them. I was raised within a liberal Democratic family. I see myself as having become much more of a centrist in how I see my politics. I have come to the conclusions that politics is all about retention of power, which includes being re-elected ad infinitum, to a job that I have never considered to be full time permanent for life employment. I personally believe that those who treat their positions like that will naturally develop tendencies of despotism. Trump was elected to the Presidency precisely because he was not a politician. He is a businessman. He did not have the political mindset that I believe becomes dangerous over time. He is comfortable saying what he means and not being overwhelmed by “political correctness” and what I believe morphs into “Islamophobia.” As a businessman, he deals with reality, not dreamy and unreachable expectations. He does see things as they are, and deals with them as they are. He now faces many who despise him for his straight talk and approach to life. The vehemence that he faces, especially now as he is accused of warning other nations of the concerns they should recognize from the terrorists, and he is accused of trying to protect a great American patriot (Flynn) to me is all nonsense and should be seen as such. All I ask is give him a chance to run this country for the first time from the perspective of a businessman. My expectation is that given the opportunity to do the job, he will make America great again, he will increase the number of jobs available, he will help develop a health care program that will work, he will reduce taxes across the board, he will see to a fixing of our infrastructure, he will protect us from the crazies out there who would try to destroy this great country. Stop all this actively inane protest nonsense and give him a chance. Do not loss site of what needs to be done, something the liberals have refused to do for the longest time.

Trump has absolutely no clue what he is doing-presidential or otherwise. He was born a wealthy man who actually bancrupted many of his own businesses from poor management.
His appeal as I have come to understand is in his ability to “speak his mind” ( not what you want for foreign relations) and his promises to the blue collar workers who are looking their jobs as the global economy shifts.
The fact is that coal jobs are becoming less needed. In fact many of the blue collar factory jobs are less needed as we move increasingly towards robotic handling of these tasks. Then the companies hire immigrants for less than the American employees. This fuels a feeling of xenophobia and anger that has been spurring on Trump’s supporters blindly to accept his promises to fix what he cannot fix.
So no, I stand with the majority when I say that he is neither for to be president or a good business man. He is a user. He used a jaded demographic to get popular. He won via EC votes, which many believe is outdated. I don’t think he is rebelling against PCness. I think he is a racist, sexist bigot who has never been told no.
I think Trump is a disgrace to our country and to democracy. And I am confident he will not remain in the President’s seat for much longer.

In all due respect to your commentary to my own, I do feel that I should respond to you. Like many others out there who are still upset about the November election and cannot understand that our President should be respected and given a chance to right this great country, you fail to admit to yourself that the liberal democrats that ran this country over the last eight years absolutely failed to make America a successful, productive and safe place to live. Those liberals were so wrapped up in their “political correctness” which morphed into claims of false and constant accusations of “Islamophobia,” “Nazism,” and “racism/bigotry,” all of which is without substance, that those who recognized that we had become a country where the expectation was handouts and entitlement, and that industry and productivity were no longer practiced, a group that I consider right thinking Americans, chose to turn things around, and that choice involved giving a businessman, not a politician, the opportunity to run this country properly. 4- get the ppl, oppressed minorities on your side. They got the lbtg community, see a new powerful one in the Muslims, and even tought they hate religion, they get on the islam bandwagon to get the votes (this will end VERY badly, but they are totally blind to that).
5- Blame the powerfull- It’s never OUR fault, it’s ALWAYS the powerful ones fault. This is a win win for all the previous points.

Anyone who is concerned about the destruction of planet, Needs to remember the ONGOING debacle of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and the irradiation of the ENTIRE PACIFIC OCEAN caused solely by their ineptitude in dealing with the damage done to their nuclear reactors by the earthquake spawned tsunami

Take a look at the atomic weapons attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, pay attention to the condition of all life forms therein. Then, go to the United States and examine the areas where above ground nuclear testing was done in the 1950’s. After that look at the background radiation level that are no where near anything to do with atomic activity. Perhaps a perusal of the country around uranium mining and processing plants would be somewhat informative. Even Chernobyl has plants and animals that have not been seen in years thriving in its restricted zone. The evidence in the link is not directly attributable to the presence of nuclear material, suspect other forms of solution far more devastating. Perhaps having an engineering background makes me very skeptical of doom and gloom ecological soothsayers.

It is true, that Momma Nature will disperse the drifting radiation over time, though the source will remain ” hot ” for decades to come.
I, Personally, being a California Native, had the dubious honor of witnessing live, one of the last above-ground atomic bomb tests in the 1960’s.
On a ” field trip ” with 4 friends, one whose dad was in the Army, and shared the information about the test with his son.
We were approximately 18 miles from ground zero. Blast yield was said to be approx 15 Kilotons.
The light was no less intense than any thing you may have seen in other venues, we had arc- welding helmet lenses for eye protection and even at that range, we felt the intense heat.
When the shockwave and sound arrived, I’ll just say it was an experience we will never forget.

My personal and others observations is that the data the environmental activists use is very severely cherry picked, actual observations do not substantiate their claims. But, it is a free country, when America prices electricity out of the average person’s reach, we will all breath easier.

The only data I pay any attention to, are the ones gleaned by direct satellite observation, with the plethora of filters available to look for specific elements, and intensity of radioactive isotopes in the seawater.
I’ll bet you refer to the view of the Pacific with the yellow streaked with red and various other colors reaching clear to the south end of Chile, heading for Indonesia.
Which would lead the novice or the nerd to believe that the whole ocean were indeed up to its plankton bloomers in radioactive pollution.

Before leaping to conclusions, the background and historical data will have to be looked at and compared. Snap shots are of limited value in determining the reality of a situation. As satellite observed data is a somewhat recent phenomena, it will be necessary to look at reality, not gimmicks and technological sleight of hand.
