Benjamin Netanyahu: Moving U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem Wouldn’t Harm Peace

Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel, said the United States could move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem without worrying about any dings to the peace process.

U.S. Embassy to Israel
The U.S. Embassy to Israel ought to be in Jerusalem, says Benjamin Netanyahu.

His remarks came after Secretary of State Rex Tillerson hinted that Bibi might not want the embassy moved there, because it could prove an impediment to peace talks.

But Netanyahy doubled down and said his position on the embassy hasn’t changed.

From CNS News:

“‘Israel’s position has been stated many times to the American administration and to the world,’ Netanyahu said in a statement, which his office said was in response to Tillerson’s remarks.

“‘Moving the American embassy to Jerusalem would not harm the peace process,’ the prime minister said. ‘On the contrary, it would advance it by correcting an historical injustice and by shattering the Palestinian fantasy that Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel.’

“For months Israeli and regional media outlets have speculated that while Israel has long sought embassies to move from Tel Aviv and surrounding areas to its declared capital, the government worries that should President Trump make good on his campaign promise to move the U.S. mission the benefits could be outweighed by negative consequences.

“The implication has been that Netanyahu – while unable to say so publicly for fear of alienating his support base – hopes that Trump will not keep his pledge.

“Moving the embassy would be deeply controversial since Palestinians contest Israel’s right to the city and want to establish the capital of a future independent state there – a demand Palestinian Authority (P.A.) chairman Mahmoud Abbas reiterated at his March 3 Oval Office meeting with Trump.”

Islamic leaders have warned that recognizing Israel’s claim to the land in so openly a manner would put a stop to peace talks, and trigger anger in the Muslim world.

But Trump made a campaign vow to move the embassy.

Again, from CNS News:

“Moving the embassy to Jerusalem would not only keep an unequivocal campaign promise but would also be in line with U.S. law, which three successive administrations have chosen not to observe over the past 18 years, by passing six-monthly national security waivers.

“President Obama invoked the last such waiver on December 1 last year, so Trump will either have to follow suit on or before June 1, or set in motion steps towards moving the embassy from its current Tel Aviv beachfront location.

“The now-confirmed new ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, is due to take up his duties from Monday. An orthodox Jew and ardent Zionist, Friedman made clear when nominated and since, that he hopes to be working from Jerusalem as soon as possible.”

Do it Benjamin, and while you’re at it, move the offices of state there as well, your people are entitled to their capital.

Of ALL the non Muslim people in the world, I rank Jewish people the most likely to successfully resist the encroachment of standard aggressive Islamic terrorism on their society, you all bought your land with the blood and sweat of you fore fathers, now build, enjoy and prosper in your country.

Lets bring an atom of reality into this discussion. Nothing that has been done up until now has made any real progress towards peace. Everything, real or imagined, is another excuse for palestinian violence. There will never be a palestinian state, with a capital anywhere. Jerusalem is historically been the capital of Israel, one way for another for thousands of years. islam did not exist for the first two thousand or so. Level a few mosques to make way for the American embassy and a shopping centre.

Yes, also, 2-state is militarily impossible (about the only thing simple enough for me to understand 🙂 as I’m sure you know already. For example, the terrorists would have the high ground overlooking much of the Israeli civilian population and critical infrastructure, and a small group of terrorists could shoot down at Israel from the heights with rockets or even sniper rifles, and hold the country hostage.

There have been remarkable developments in directional drilling. It is easily within the technical capability of commercially available drilling equipment, like what they use to install install fibre optics in residential neighbourhoods, to drill a precise hole inside a building within an inch or so of target. An explosive charge or gas could then be introduced inside the building with predictable effects.

I’d imagine if SAM’s were based in Gaza they could already hit aircraft flying out of most of Israel’s major airports.

As far as I’m concerned Israel is taking the lions share of this war we are in. They are dying because Palestinian children are told they should murder Jews on a daily basis and they grow up, shockingly enough, to be terrorists. FFS they literally have a Mickey Mouse clone that incites children to murder jews. When the hell are morons in the west going to get it through their thick skulls. Only one side wants peace. The other side wants a horrifying bloodbath. Not exactly a hard choice here.

You are right, there is no possible way to have a solution with palestinians who will not accept anything other than the death of Jews. Realistically, palestinians contribute nothing to humanity, they will not be missed when they are extinct.

The paleswine are nothing but a symptom of the disease called islum. There are no less than three, “authentic” ahadith that call for the extermination of Jews by muslums.

There will never be a palestinian people as they see and define themselves as parasites existing in gutters. There will never be a palestinian nation as they do not exist as a cohesive culture, other than a cult dedicated to the murder of Jews.

Should have encouraged Trump to move it immediately after he took office. That was a tactical mistake, not taking immediate advantage of the opportunity. Now the deep state has taken over and is delaying the move.

Remember the video of Netanyahu standing in the street waiting for a ride after the bus of world leaders pushed him away and drove off without him? Great times!

Islam may claim to represent “peace”, but it is little more than a religion of war today. Judaism stands for life, Islam today stands for death.

Feinswein, or one of her appointed shills, tried to tell me Fatah was “moderate” when I complained to her about my tax dollars going to support muslums who want to kill Jews for allah.

This writer doesn’t give a tinker’s hoot about the so-called peace process. Phony as a three-dollar bill. It ain’t happening, nor will it. Move the embassy to Jerusalem now and let the opposition steam their beans,

Give the Administration till December 15 to get the job done. If it doesn’t happen then, the administration has failed

Of course moving the US embassy won’t damage the “peace process” — because it’s been nothing but a muslum lie for decades.

Netanyahu’s statement is weak and self defeating. He should finally declare that there will be NO DISCUSSIONS OR MEETING with Abbas until the U.S. embassy is moved to Jerusalem. Trump must now be held to his campaign promise or be exposed as unreliable. It is time for Israel to stop the concessions and DEMAND its rights!

I agree with Mr. Netanyahu. It is hard to imagine how the Muslims in general and the so called Palestinians in particular could get any less “peaceful” than they are right now. The reluctance to act decisively in these matters is what encourages the Muslims to continue trying to destroy Israel.

The Palestinians DO NOT WANT PEACE. Ever. So moving Embassy to Jerusalem will make no difference to them except to use as just another excuse for no peace. And a submission to Islam if not moved.

If Trump folds on this issue, I will never forgive him. It was sickening when he said he was “honored” to meet with Abbas, this low-life, filthy snake. I’m filled with deep despair and disappointment
