Comey: Trump’s Initial Travel Ban Could Have Stopped Refugee Terrorism

The party that embraces a terror spox such as Linda Sarsour will never allow, let alone support, policy(ies) that would protect and defend Americans and oppose jihad and sharia. They would rather see Americans dead.

A Department of Homeland Security official told reporters in March that out of about 1,000 investigations into potential domestic terrorists, around 300 of them are individuals who entered the U.S. as refugees. Comey confirmed these figures when testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Wednesday.

Comey Reveals How Trump’s Initial Travel Ban Could Have Stopped Refugee Terrorism

By Alex Pfeiffer, The Daily Caller, May 9, 2017:

FBI Director Jim Comey revealed in Senate testimony last week that all of the approximately 300 refugees being investigated for terrorism are from countries covered by President Trump’s initial travel ban.

A Department of Homeland Security official told reporters in March that out of about 1,000 investigations into potential domestic terrorists, around 300 of them are individuals who entered the U.S. as refugees. Comey confirmed these figures when testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Wednesday.

The FBI Director added that they have “have another big group of people that we’re looking at who we see some contact with foreign terrorists.” These group consists of another 1,000 or so potential terrorists.

Comey was asked in the hearing by Democratic Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono about the countries of origin of these refugees being investigated for terrorism. The Hawaii senator specifically wondered if they were exclusively from the six countries — Iran, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen — covered by Trump’s most recent executive order on refugees and immigration.

The order, which has been temporarily blocked by federal courts, would have stopped refugee entry for 120 days and stopped all immigration from these six countries for 90 days. The executive order calls for the federal government to review to continue accepting refugees and other immigrants from these countries or others after the 90 days are up.

The initial travel ban, which was also blocked by federal courts, indefinitely stopped Syrian refugee entry and included Iraq on the list of nationalities that would be temporarily blocked from entering the U.S.

Comey told Sen. Hirono, “About a third of [the refugees being investigated for terror] are from the six countries. I think two thirds of those were from the seventh country Iraq that was not included.”

Since Trump has entered office, 3,961 refugees have been resettled from these six countries and an additional 1,599 Iraqi refugees have been admitted.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held oral arguments Monday after the Department of Justice asked the appeals court to overturn a decision to stop enforcement of Trump’s most recent travel ban. A ruling is expected in the coming weeks.

An ACLU attorney arguing against the DOJ said during the hearing that he thinks the order would be legal if another president issued it. Much of the argument against the travel ban resides on Trump’s previous statements about banning all Muslim immigration.

Then Comey you could have done heaps more to rid the Muslims, by continueing your investigations into the ring leaders, Clintons, Soros and others.

Comey your a complete failure, worthless trash, that has cost American lives in many ways.

For every terrorist convicted of terrorism, the judge who allowed the ban to be stopped, must serve the same sentence as the terrorist.

I’m personally very sorry that Mr Comey, for whatever reason, tried to keep the Clinton-Abedin-Weiner clique out of prison and free of a serious investigation, for I think he is a man of insight, which distinguishes him from people like Mesdames Lynch and Yates.

If he is a man of “insight” it was the wrong insight. He has either been threatened in some way or he’s got emotional problems due to cracking under pressure by the Left and the Clinton Cartel……no one who makes it to that high of a position makes the kinds of gross mistakes and missteps that he has……I’m glad he’s gone. Would like to see Sheriff Clark or Arpiao in that position.

I agree with you re threats or fear of buckling under the Left and Clifton Cartel pressure. I still think he had, all along, the clear insight into what was wrong, what had been done and what was being done that was wrong. I have no objection to either of your nominees, but I do have objections to Mr McCabe.

Mr McCabe was Mr Comey’s second-in-charge at the FBI and will now lead the FBI, unless Mr Trump appoints a new person. Mr McCabe’s wife ran for Senate position and via Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe Mrs Clinton donated nearly half a million dollars to her (Mrs McCabe’s) 2015 run.

Thanks. I do recall now that story, I just wasn’t connecting the name to that fact. McCabe has to go. Hopefully whomever Trump hires to be the director he will be able to pick his or her own Deputy.

“Man of insight?” Just where in his years as Director, did he ever reveal his “insight?” And ‘trying to keep the Clinton-Abedin-Weiner clique out of prison’ is more a testament to his corruption than anything else. He admitted Hillary and her lacky, Abedin, mishandled thousands of classified emails. He chose not to go after any of them. That makes him an extension of the Clinton arm and derelict in his duties to the American people. He’s lucky he only got fired. He too should be brought up on charges.

That’s the difference between him and people like Mr Obama, Mrs Clinton, Mrs Lynch, Mrs/Miss/Ms Yates: they thought, and still think, that whatever they do is right. Mr Comey does not think so: he knew (and was deeply uncomfortable about it) that he was protecting people who did not deserve it. I grant you, he did it anyway, but he has much more insight than all of them have.

It was his job to find criminal wrongdoing (He did) and to recommend charges, which he did not for purely political reasons. He failed.

Fully agreed on both your points. But he knew he was going wrong in the 2nd instance, while Mr Obama and his henchmen and Mrs Clinton and her henchwomen never even considered that they could be wrong.

Trump’s travel ban could have “stopped refugee terrorism”? Now tell me something I did NOT know. The so-called travel ban was simply taken from public law 8 US Code Section 1182 entitled “Inadmissible Aliens” but the court decided to use judicial activism to short-circuit it. Trump will prevail even if it requires a Supreme Court decision to make it stick.

They don’t care how many will be murdered….they would sacrifice their own children for their “cause”……remember Obama and Rahm Emmanuel’s mantra…..” In Chaos there is opportunity.” The Left lives, breathes, and thrives on that.

“Much of the argument against the travel ban resides on Trump’s previous statements about banning all Muslim immigration.” which is a bogus and utterly unjustifiable reason for the court to issue a stay.

So, ‘Comey, the Commy’ knew of about 1000 more potential terrorists recently landed on American soil but, was far too concerned with whether or not the Russians influenced Trump to win the election???? Even J. Edgar Hoover, as potentially corrupt as he was, did not mess around playing games when it came to going after the bad guys. He kept the politics of his job out of the public sphere. Something Comey didn’t quite learn how to do. Just more proof Comey needed to go a long time ago.
