This is a mixed bag. The Daily Mail is generally good with its coverage of jihad attacks, and so this will be used to besmirch its accurate reporting of those. At the same time, the Daily Mail is abysmal in smearing and defaming foes of the same jihad terror that it reports on so well, including Geert Wilders, Robert Spencer, and me. And so in one sense it is good that it is being held accountable. If it is more responsible in the future, so much the better. But it’s likely just to draw it closer to the leftist establishment enemedia.

The Daily Mail has apologized to Melania Trump and agreed to pay damages to settle a lawsuit filed by the first lady after the publisher made false claims about her work as a professional model.
Trump will be paid about $2.9 million in damages and costs, according to a source familiar with the settlement.
“We accept that these allegations about Mrs. Trump are not true and we retract and withdraw them. We apologize to Mrs. Trump for any distress that our publication caused her,” the Daily Mail and Mail Online said in a statement.
Representatives for the first lady were not immediately available to comment.
Trump filed a suit against the Mail Online in September, accusing it of making false and defamatory statements. The suit, which asked for at least $150 million in damages, was later moved from Maryland to New York.
Trump also filed suit against the Daily Mail in the United Kingdom. The agreement disclosed Wednesday settles all her claims against the publication relating to the retracted article.
The Daily Mail is a tabloid newspaper in Britain, but it also publishes a digital version with significant readership in the United States….

$2.9 mil?,… kinda cheap !! That may buy Melania two or three dresses, with no jewelry. She is America’s First Lady, she should have held out for more. Michelle O. would have received ten times that or the race baiters would have attacked Daily Mail non-stop until they coughed up the cash !!

With every constitutional right comes a civic duty, in this case being careful that what is allowed to jump from pen to paper has at least some semblance of being the truth and is not intentionally derogatory or otherwise malicious.

This should give the tabloid a boost. I’ve never even heard of the Daily Mail, but I can imagine the TYPE of people who read it every day and like it. It’s probably lying around in flop houses, gay bars, wh*re houses, and other typical liberal hangouts. I’m sure the girls on “The View” subscribe to it. It’s where they get their material for their smear show.
