Police serving Berkeley University in California were captured on video sitting idly by as President Donald Trump supporters were beated and harraunged by leftists who hate the administration.

As one journalist who witnessed the scene tweeted: “As the violence escalated, police in Berkeley stood down and retreated from the crowds. I have never seen so few police at an event like this.”

The events unfolded on Saturday, with many eye-witnesses saying police didn’t just casually stand by and do nothing — they actively and intentionally left the scene.
The American Mirror reports:
“‘As the violence escalated police in Berkeley stood down and retreated from the crowds,’ reporter Tim Pool tweeted. ‘I have never seen so few police at an event like this.’
“One observer claimed police “ran away,” despite several Trump rally attendees being attacked.
“Mother Jones reporter Shane Bauer saw two officers at a patrol car, not engaged in protecting citizens from violence.
“‘Hey, how come you guys are hanging back?” he asked an officer standing in an open door of the car and another sat in the back seat.
“‘That would be a question for the chief of police,’ an officer sitting in the driver’s seat responded.
“‘You want a public statement, right?’ the standing officer asked the reporter.
“‘I would refer you to our public information officer.’
“‘Do they told you to hang back?’ Bauer said.
“‘As I said, I refer you to our public information officer,’ the cop responded.
“‘I’ve been watching all day people get beat up pretty bad and I haven’t seen you guys around much,’ Bauer said.
“‘Okay, and?’ the officer responded.
“Numerous videos show Trump supporters being beaten in the streets as police failed to keep the two sides apart.
“At one point, several black-clad agitators isolated a lone Trump supporter and pummeled him with fists and feet.
“Someone jumped in and clubbed him with a skateboard.”

I was just about to say the state police are always a back up.even SWAT teams are called in if the situation gets extreme.They have used swat teams for just one individual so definitely would help crowd control.

It may be time for the national guard in such cases or the military. No one wants to see martial law but these liberal states are forcing the hand of the government. They are essentially aiding and abetting insurrection of government and trampling on the first amendment.

President Trump needs to withhold ALL funding to California. I mean every last penny. California is out of control, whereas IMO, Trump should declare martial law, and send a super sized contingent of the national guard to take over and run the state, at the expense of the state. It’s a FAILURE.

Agree on rules of combat ahead of time, Marcus of Queensbury rules, Geneva Convention, or on site agreement. Berkeley police are as useless as tits on a bull. I had a lady hit my semi and when they showed up I had to ask if they were real officers. Unshaven, uniform looked like it had just come out of the dryer, shoes looked they were shined with a Hershey bar. Unprofessional looking to the max. That is normal police behavior in the area. They often don’t intervene unless ordered to by their superiors. Need to understand that if you are present in such an area. I don’t know what it is like in the rest of the country, maybe police take the initiative and intervene in such situations without orders, but never seen it in Berkeley and such areas.

These young students should be embarrassed. People are starving and dying world wide for lack of food or health care. Yet we live in one of the greatest nations in the world and they trash it. Those in law enforcement or positions of power in schools not teaching these young adults to appreciate there country is a dishonor and disrespect to the people that have died and are fighting for this nation. This needs to be ratcheted up with private security who have law enforcement backgrounds hired to protect the protesters bringing it into the realm of anti-protesters attacking cops. When the regular cops stand down it needs to be thoroughly documented and the city or town needs to be sued by class action for dereliction of duty. Furthermore, such city or town should be subject to federal funding withheld for such actions the same as with sanctuary situations. The protesters are being deprived of their constitutional rights of peaceful assembly stated in the first amendment. Furthermore, their taxes pay for services such as right to use public property and police protection. What’s next firemen standing down while people’s homes and cars are burned. This needs to be taken on legally. It is also urgent for the federal government to get involved in bringing such states into compliance with the constitution or else martial law needs to take control in such states.

Sheriffs are elected. If they stand down the consequences are they are thrown out of office with failure to protect basic rights. The police are appointed by the “state” or government. They do their bidding, unlike the Sheriff who is elected to do the peoples bidding. How a bout a taser on someones lips? Granted you would have to be crazy to do something like that. The police have no responsibility to protect anyone. You can’t sue them for letting someone beat you up. Our justice system has been preempted by a political agenda. One example of this is Schaeffer Cox who was railroaded into 26 yrs prison and committed no crime. This is what has become of us. I wonder how many of our inmates are political prisoners, how many are economic captives, slaves to make money for system (make it possible for prison industry to fleece public on their behalf) and how many are actually criminals. I think anyone who would actually do a criminal act that would land them in prison is crazy. But these rioters think they will not be prosecuted. Maybe they’re right.
