I have written about this in the past here. Essentially, what does it mean to say that someone or something is “Islamist” as opposed to “Islamic”? Nothing, really, except that the person speaking doesn’t want to offend Islam by speaking unwelcome truths about the political nature of the religion.

The term “Islamist” is in common use to refer to Muslim individuals and organizations that adhere to Islamic law’s political aspects (most notably its denial of any legitimacy of a separation between religion and the state) and consequently most fiercely oppose America, Israel and the West in general. The implication is that Islam itself, in its authentic form, has no requisite political aspect, and no incompatibility with Western values or democratic government.
The problem with this is that it is a Western, artificial distinction, imposed by non-Muslims upon the Islamic world and lacking any real substance with reference to Islamic law as it has always been formulated by the Sunni and Shi’ite madhahib (schools of jurisprudence). Islam has always been political, and the union of religion and the state has always been essential to its political program; the idea that all this can and should be separated from Islam proper is the wishful thinking of Western analysts who do not wish to face the implications of the fact that these ideas represent mainstream Islamic thinking.
“It is Islamist terrorism,” Theresa May said. “It is a perversion of a great faith.” What is perverted? They quote Quran and Hadith, chapter and verse. When did May get her PhD in Islamic theology? What does she know of it? Is she more knowledgeable Abu Bakr al-Baghdad, the caliph of the Islamic State, a religious scholar all of his life who received his PhD in Islamic theology?
Newsweek: When he wasn’t in school, he spent much of his time at the local mosque, immersed in his religious studies; and when he came home at the end of the day, according to one of his brothers, Shamsi, he was quick to admonish anyone who strayed from the strictures of Islamic law.
Baghdadi’s lower-middle-class family was known for its piety but also for its proud lineage. His Sunni forefathers claimed to descend from the Prophet Muhammad through the Shiite leaders buried in Samarra’s golden-domed shrine.
The family patriarch, Baghdadi’s father Awwad, was active in the religious life of the community. It was at the mosque where his father taught that the teenaged Baghdadi got his own start as a teacher, leading neighborhood children in chanting the Koran.
This was his first experience with oratory and religious instruction. When reciting the scripture, a revered vocation in Islam, Baghdadi’s quiet voice would come to life, pronouncing the letters in firm, reverberating tones. He devoted countless hours to mastering the subtleties of the art.
When Baghdadi graduated from the University of Baghdad in 1996, he enrolled in the recently established Saddam University for Islamic Studies, where he studied for a master’s in Koranic recitation, his favorite subject.
Baghdadi’s master’s thesis was a commentary on an obscure medieval text on Koranic recitation. His task was to reconcile various versions of the manuscript. He received his master’s degree in 1999 and immediately enrolled in Saddam University’s doctoral program in Koranic studies.
May knows more than him about Islam? What, pray tell, Ms. May, has he perverted?
The Prime Minister has said the “Islamist” attack on Parliament was not “Islamic” and Islam is a “great faith”.
Taking on the role of a theologian, Theresa May insisted: “It is wrong to describe this as Islamic terrorism. It is Islamist terrorism. It is a perversion of a great faith.”Speaking in Parliament, she also said the attack showed “the importance of all of our faiths working together, and recognising the values that we share”.Adding: “This act of terror was not an act of faith. It was a perversion; a warped ideology, which leads to an act of terrorism like that and it will not prevail.”Islamism is generally defined as a political interpretation of Islam. Some critics argue Islam is intrinsically political – as the Quran mandates a religious state and law – and say the term is irrelevant.MPs almost unanimously agreed with the Prime Minister, lining up to warn against “demonising” and “stigmatising” Muslims, and to condemn “Islamophobia” and “racial and religious” discrimination.Khalid Mahmood, the Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, said the attacker or attackers “pretend to be of a particular religion”.“If they were of a religion they would not be carrying out acts like this,” he added.Tulip Siddiq, the Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, added: “People who commit acts of terrorism in the name of Islam do not speak for the majority of Muslims in this country.”UKIP leader Paul Nuttall, meanwhile, did not shy away from describing the attack as “Islamic”.“We have a cancer within a particular community and it needs to be cut out,” he told Sky News outside Westminster Palace. “The Muslim community I believe needs to do more about this.“We have the problem that we have 800 British citizens out fighting in Syria and Iraq for Islamic State.“I don’t believe they should be allowed to return and I think that, down the line, we’re going to have to look at foreign funding of mosques, particularly from Saudi Arabia, who promote radicalism across the globe.”

May isn’t for an instant worried about Islamists killing English people. She will defend Islam to her dying breath, until England has been reduced to scorched earth by the psychotic rabble. And then some. There is scarcely a single politician in Parliament who is not a traitor to his country. If they weren’t traitors to the country they would never have been allowed to rise to prominence in UK politics.

There is a problem with much of Western politics, which has been taking place for over a decade. Parties like the Tories have moved more Centrist to pick up votes, from the Left, who at times are now hard Left like the Labour Party. It is a real pity. Thatcher would have likely been considered almost Hard Right by the MSM nowadays. Cameron was probably more Centrist, than Blair in many ways

When I, a gentile, attend a synagogue, I will don a kippah, out of respect for my hosts. No, not quite the same, as the kippah is not a symbol of supremacy, but nonetheless, I think there is an analogy. My take: hajib is ok, burka not ok.

Why would anyone wear the hat of the enemy? It’s like saying to all women repression is ok. Because to me any type of covering worn by women who are Muslim is a symbol of repression. There are places in mid East where no covering can get you arrested ,assaulted and in the worst circumstances killed.
What you do to honor Jewish friends I believe to be different.

I am Catholic and don’t expect visitors to the Vatican to don a head covering and carry a rosary. I’m ecstatic that they don’t wear swimwear.
I was married to a reform Jew and we had a “Hanukkah Bush” and Christmas stockings. I attended many Passovers, held a couple myself, and went to Yom Kippur services. Jews do not proselytize IN ANY WAY nor do they care if a Gentile wears a yarmulke or any head covering.
Your argument is a slippery slope radical ISLAM uses to subjugate in tiny steps.

Even Neville Chamberlain was able finally to recognize his mistake (being fooled by Nazis) and resign. At that time, fortunately, there were some sane voices in Britain ready to step in and to rescue the country almost at the last moment. I fear there is no one left there now. Proof? We hear that the “only people defending Islam are non-Muslims”: clueless elites posing as “experts” on everything Islamic. But Mohammedan clock is ticking mercilessly on and it will not stop unless and until it will be FORCED to stop.

Even Neville Chamberlain was able finally to recognize his mistake (being fooled by Nazis) and resign.
I think the situation is more complicated than that. Britain was in no shape to oppose Germany when Chamberlain came to power in 1937. But I think history shows he did, during his time as PM, take reasonable measures to prepare Britain for war. Chamberlain was given a difficult hand to play, but he did buy Britain time and used it probably as well as any leader lacking a crystal ball could have.
It is an interesting historical situation that defies the easy, popular impression of Chamberlain as the symbol of craven appeasement.

I keep things simple. Over the years I have come to view Muslims this way. Muslims come from many countries. Muslims follow and practice the religion of Islam. The Koran is the bible for Muslims. Sharia is the law of the bible and the followers of Islam. An Islamist is a supporter of Muslims, Islam, Koran and Sharia with out being a Muslim. Also, Islam is much more than just a religion. Islam is a comprehensive system – political, military, legal, religious and dietary. To think Western Cultures can co-exist with Muslims is fool hardy.

To my way of thinking, if one calls themselves Muslim after reading the koran, then they are indeed perverted. If one calls themselves Muslim and does not read the koran, they are even worse because all around them, fellow learned believers are calling for non believers to be beheaded. To deliberately and willfully remain ignorant is a worse crime than creating terror, because by their silence, they are giving the go ahead to the murdering dogs who actually believe this stuff. If the bystanders had some guts and read the cursed book, they would leave and mosques would close and the fanatics would be deprived of their barracks.The quiet muslims who people say are lovely are the biggest problem. Islam is not a religion. Islam is a bogus cult masquerading as a religion. It is time to stop classifying Islam as a religion, and so neutralize its undeserved demands for reverance, respect and immunity from man-made laws. (The laws in our Constitution are not man-made — they are the result of divine inspiration). Islamic laws are the result of Mohammed using the non-existant Allah as hs alter-ego, to create a world to his liking.
But if Islam is not a religion, what is it? There’s a very good case for regarding Islam as an international criminal conspirancy, and/or a totalitarian political organisation rather than a religion. it certainly has more in common with both the Mafia and the Nazi party than it does with real religions such as Judaism, Buddhism and Christianity.
Islam could be classified as a contagious mental illness similar to rabies.
Never before in human history has a nation’s leadership and intelligence community been so easily duped, confounded, played for fools, infiltrated and manipulated by enemy propagandists and apologists. Our leadership has become so pusillanimous in the face of Islamic bullying and brow beating, they have become their lackeys, aiding and abetting the invasion of the very nation they are supposed to protect. The situation is critical. The demoting of Islam’s religious status would turn the tide and send a clear-cut message to Islam that the dust of Allah is no longer befogging our vision, enabling them to conquer us.

Don’t forget, it was she who refused to allow Geert Wilders, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, and Terry Jones, the preacher who burned a Koran, to enter Britain. I submit, she (not Islamic terrorists) is the real perversion. They are doing, precisely, what their god and religious texts require and command, historically.
Politicians are elected for the purpose of serving the best interests of their constituency.
If one objectively analyzes the present, willfully-blinded state of affairs with respect to civilizational jihad in the UK, and how it undermines and jeopardizes their very existence as a nation; This Prime Minister, clearly, perverts the original intent of her electorate by placing her (a ‘useful infidel’) at the helm of government.
Citizens expect their politicians to know more about matters which directly affect their safety, livelihoods and general socio-political well-being than they do.
But, in this case, she (having presented herself, I’m certain, as someone who would serve the best interests of the nation) has demonstrably perverted their high and lofty expectations, to the detriment of their present as well as their future.
