SHARIA STATE: Germany plans to fine social media sites over “hate speech” and “fake news”

[the_ad id=”87125″]

Here comes Germany’s new era of fascism. Germany has a death wish. It is destroying itself yet again.

Freedom of speech is the foundation of a free society. Without it, a tyrant can wreak havoc unopposed, while his opponents are silenced. Putting up with being offended is essential in a pluralistic society in which people differ on basic truths. If a group will not bear being offended without resorting to violence, that group will rule unopposed while everyone else lives in fear, while other groups curtail their activities to appease the violent group. This results in the violent group being able to tyrannize the others.

Story continues below advertisement

Germany’s justice minister is proposing fines of up to 50 million euros ($53 million) for social networking sites that fail to swiftly remove illegal content, such as hate speech or defamatory “fake news.”

Among Germany’s political establishment, there is concern that fake news and racist content on social media could influence public opinion in this year’s election campaign. The government, however, would have to move very quickly if it wants to get the law passed before campaigning for the September election begins.

In a bid to further move to enforce sharia restriction on speech in Germany, German politicians seek to impose enormous fines on social media companies where we exchange our ideas and opinions. Thought crimes. Who will decide what’s good and what’s forbidden? Adolf Hitler took similar actions against the freedom of speech when he came to power.

Merkel and her increasingly fascist party will lose in the upcoming election. In order to turn the tide, she must silence her critics and the truth about the catastrophic consequences of her disastrous migration policies.

“Fake news” is any news stories the left does not want you to hear. And “racist content” is anything critical of Islam (even though Islam is not a race). Islamo-fascism on the march in Germany.

Germany plans to fine social media sites over hate speech

By Eric Auchard and Hans-Edzard Busemann | BERLIN, Reuters, March

Germany plans a new law calling for social networks like Facebook (FB.O) to remove slanderous or threatening online postings quickly or face fines of up to 50 million euros ($53 mln).

“This (draft law) sets out binding standards for the way operators of social networks deal with complaints and obliges them to delete criminal content,” Justice Minister Heiko Maas said in a statement announcing the planned legislation on Tuesday.

Failure to comply could see a social media company fined up to 50 million euros, and the company’s chief representative in Germany fined up to 5 million euros.

Germany already has some of the world’s toughest hate speech laws covering defamation, slander, public incitement to commit crimes and threats of violence, backed up by prison sentences for Holocaust denial or inciting hatred against minorities. It now aims to update these rules for the social media age.

The issue has taken on more urgency amid concern about the spread of fake news and racist content on social media, which often targets more than 1 million migrants who arrived in Germany in the last two years, as well as members of the Jewish community.

The Central Council of Jews in Germany welcomed the new law.

“We do not want an internet police or thought control,” the council’s president, Josef Schuster, said. “But when hatred is stoked, and the legal norms in our democracy threaten to lose their relevance, then we need to intervene.”

In late 2015, Germany pressed Facebook, Twitter (TWTR.N) and Google’s (GOOGL.O) YouTube to sign up to a code of conduct, which included a pledge to delete hate speech from their websites within 24 hours.

The draft rules would turn the code of conduct into legal obligations to delete or remove illegal content, to report regularly on the volume of filed complaints and they also demand that sites make it easier for users to complain about offensive content.

RUSH TO RESPOND

A survey by the justice ministry’s youth protection agency, released on Tuesday, found that YouTube was able to remove around 90 percent of illegal postings within a week, while Facebook deleted or blocked just 39 percent of content deemed criminal under the law and Twitter only 1 percent.

Social networks have raced to improve technology and user feedback on their sites to detect and remove abusive content.

“The draft law has only just been announced and we are analyzing the details now,” a YouTube spokesman said in a statement. “We will continue to improve our systems to ensure that illegal hate speech is dealt with quickly.”

Twitter declined to comment on the proposed law.

It has responded in recent months with automated tools to identify profiles engaging in abusive behavior, new filtering options to screen out anonymous profiles or to block offensive content, and by responding directly to user complaints.

Facebook was not immediately available to comment on the draft law, elements of which had been signaled previously.

In January, Facebook announced a partnership with German third-party fact-checking organization Correctiv, promising to update its social media platforms in Germany “within weeks” to reduce the dissemination of fake news (reut.rs/2lWDufg).

Maas and other members of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s ruling coalition have called for social networks to be held to higher content standards demanded of media broadcasters instead of hands-off rules applied to telecom operators.

Among Germany’s political establishment, there is concern that fake news and racist content on social media could influence public opinion in this year’s election campaign. The government, however, would have to move very quickly if it wants to get the law passed before campaigning for the September election begins.

Advocates of free speech should hold German courts to their own standards by flagging all pro-Islam posts as hate speech, quoting the Koran as proof that it is a religion of hate and evil.

Actually, that should probably be a program which should be organized and put into effect.

Well it looks like Germany has found a way not only to silence opposition but also have the same opposition pay for thought crimes that can now finance the social diaster they have caused by opening up the country to Muslim refugees! Brilliant !
Hitler would be proud. In fact he probably in his grave saluting Frau Merkel and her cronies!
This is total oppression.
I have visited a few sites where German civilians forced to live under these conditions . I noticed they choose their words so carefully as if expressing themselves too freely would be trouble!

About what ? Some of my comment was sarcastic. I meant what I said though German citizens are being silenced those who choose to speak out on social media will find those sites being fined if the wrong thing is said. Thereby giving Germany a way to recoup some of the millions it has cost to import these migrant Muslims.

“choose their words so carefully”. This is BS. I speak German and sites are full of nasty comments. People are, on the whole, more educated, however.

“Thereby giving Germany a way to recoup some of the millions it has cost to import these migrant Muslims.”
You mean recouping 12 Billion euros with 1.200 Euro fines? That will need a lot of hate speech.

Well speaking g German definitely gives you a better perspective on this issue.
I can only comment on what I have personally have read.
I was going to say billions but did not want to risk exaggerating because I don’t have a clear idea of how much Germany has spent.
Any way you look at the situation it’s definitely alarming that Germany’s government will seemingly stop at nothing to eradicate any form of personal expression that is critical of Muslim immigration.

sure, yes. Germany prohibit all forms of hate speech, wherever it is directed. There are special laws for denying the Holocaust. Hate speech is something like “xxx are all pigs” or “xxxx need to be killed”. This could have consequences in Germany (but not, as you know, in the US). But critique or saying “immigrants must leave”, or “immigrants cost too much”, or “we must take our country back”…that is not hate speech, and there is plenty of it.

I agree with your position! My guess/impression is (but this is just a guess) that people adapt (e.g. by avoiding certain words or rephrasing), and that, overall, it doesn’t affect people’s position. It could affect people’s option to group together. For example, would Breitbart have taken off in Germany? Hard to say. But, remember, there exists a protest movement called (loosely translated): Germans against the Islamization of Europe (you probably heard about PEGIDA). No censorship for them.

The problem is not so much free speech. The problem is that Germans continue to vote for traditional parties, even though they are well informed.

Which opposition? There is none. Only small parties whose voice has no weight. The German ruling party (or parties if more than one) always holds the majority of the votes.

No wonder the “opposition” appears to be small. When you live in a fascist totalitarian sh*t hole, the opposition always is underground.

I am certain there are some citizens there that are totally in shock at what has become of their country but have no choice. As you said small majority. You know not everyone was holding out welcoming signs .
I have seen many videos with Germans protesting they are frightened. Some angry some neutral and the idiots that are all for the invasion from Muslims.

Last year, I read a news article describing a large, extended German family, who traveled to Russia to seek political asylum. I think it was pensioners along with their adult children, in-laws, and grandchildren. I can totally understand their reasoning, but I would have chosen Hungary.

My heart mourns for the people that will be enslaved and killed by the coming islamic takeover of Germany. But what can we do? They are blinded with liberalism and are bringing this on themselves. If they ever do wake up to the evil coming upon them it will be too late by then to do anything about it. What a loss… Goodbye Germany

The German Minister of Justice Maas (SPD) belongs to a party other than Mrs Merkel (CDU). So Mrs Merkel has nothing to fear. The government needs just over 50 percent of the votes, so this time two parties are governing.

Even after the next elections, these two parties will reign, because only they gain these plus 50 percent together. The Chancellor is elected from the party with the most votes. Possibly this time, it’s the party of this Minister of Justice, who wants to take our right to freedom of expression. The candidates for the next chancellors are already known. For the CDU it is again Frau Merkel, for the SPD it is Martin Schulz. Martin Schulz was previously 10 years in Brussels with the European Union. He is 100 per cent per globalism and that Europe will host even more “refugees”. So it does not matter who wins. It looks like a disaster, who ever will be next.

Here is an article from the German press, which describes the pressure on the social networks. By the way, the readers do not agree, as can be seen from the comments. You can read it with a Translator: https://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Fake-News-and-Hasskommentare-Maas-droht-Facebook-Co-mit-Geldstrafen-3652112.html

A young activist of the SPD called Schulz “sexy beast”,he is a beast alright but he is the beast of death. Not to mention Schulz’s role in the Greek financial catastrophe and yet the Germans will vote him in power where he will bring the red-red-green coalition (Social Democrats-Die Linke-Greens).That is a death sentence for Germany

Firo
Firo

This won’t work. Together with the Greens and the Left, the SPD has only 44% of the votes. Source: http://www.wahlrecht.de/umfragen/ None of the smaller parties have enough voters to form with another small party along with the SPD or CDU a government. There will again be a coalition between Merkel and Schulz, with a majority of 62% by now. There is no supervisory body, because most of the smaller parties are not in parliament, when they have less than 5% of all votes.
With Schulz it will be even worse. I do not get the impression that he really understands the consequences of his policy. Just look at his wikipedia record and you know why. Merkel, on the other hand, is highly intelligent, she knows. Nevertheless, she acts like a puppet. I suspect blackmail because of her Stasi-past in East Germany.

Jeez talk about being doomed. If this is the case Germany is finished . No wonder I have read about so many packing up and leaving .Losing the country to Muslims when all the honest tax payers are gone the only people left will be Muslim migrants then who will pay for it all?
Imagine centuries of your family living in a place only to have it taken and on top of that your paying for it too.

Merkel loses, Schultz and the Socialists win. Are the Germans any better off? No. Schultz and the Socialists are pro EU, pro refugees, pro population replacement, pro hate speech punishment. The Germans vote for their future, no matter how dumb you and I think their choice. Trump just barely got in. We escaped the doom of the Democrats by a whisper. In Germany, there is no viable alternative to Merkel/Schultz, AfD is in the low, low double digits, around 12%. It’s a start for a young party, but the Germans won’t support them.
