Gay leader: Forget the bathroom war — anti-gay Islamic extremists are the real threat

Christopher Barron is one of the few brave gay voices in this country who will speak out against jihad and sharia. I have worked with Barron and know the intense criticism a gay person suffers from the totalitarians, goons and thugs on the left when he/she stands against gay-hatred under Islam.

Forget the bathroom war — anti-gay Islamic extremists are the real threat

By Christopher R. Barron, The Hill, March 30, 2017:

In April of 2016, former South Carolina Governor, and current United Nations Ambassador, Nikki Haley (R) said this about whether her state needed to pass legislation similar to North Carolina’s HB2,

“I don’t believe it’s necessary…. When we look at our situation, we’re not hearing of anybody’s religious liberties that are being violated, and we’re again not hearing any citizens that are being violated in terms of freedoms.”

Almost a year later, as the bathroom wars wage on, Haley’s words ring even truer. And as we watch this farce play out, a real — and deadly — threat to the lives of LGBT people across the globe, the threat of Islamic extremism, continues to grow.

The genesis of the bathroom wars was the passage, by the Democratically-controlled Charlotte, North Carolina City Council, of legislation expanding the city’s non-discrimination policy to include LGBT people.

Also included in the legislation was a controversial provision that gave transgendered residents of the city the right to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with regardless of their actual physical gender.

The provision had been so controversial that its inclusion had caused the legislation to fail just a year before, and members of the North Carolina legislature and the Governor himself urged the Charlotte city council not to include it.

[the_ad id=”90673″]

The Democratic-controlled city council included the controversial provision because they wanted a war. They banked on the Republican-controlled legislature in North Carolina overreaching in their response — and that’s exactly what happened.

In March of 2016, Republicans in the North Carolina legislature took the bait and passed HB2. As expected, and at the urging of social conservatives, the legislature did more than simply nullify the controversial provision — they instead chose to create their own statewide bathroom law barring transgender people from using the bathroom of the gender they identify with. Even worse, they further nullified all city ordinances, across the entire state, that granted protections to LGBT individuals.

It was the over-reach the left had been hoping for.

After being on the losing end of the culture war for decades, the left in this country finds itself increasingly on the offensive – now that public opinion has changed on issues like LGBT acceptance and equality.

As the prevailing winds have changed, the same people on the left who rightfully told us how immoral it was to use LGBT people as political pawns now gleefully do the same.

This new bathroom front in the culture wars comes at a devastating cost to the economy, the taxpayers and the families of North Carolina.

After passage of HB2, the NCAA and the ACC announced they would move their college championship events out of the state. The NBA announced it was moving its previously scheduled All Star game from Charlotte to New Orleans.

Dozens of businesses — from PayPal to Deutsche Bank — announced they were cancelling expansions in the state. In the first few months after HB2’s passage, it was estimated the state lost nearly $400 million. A recent Associated Press estimate put the total losses for North Carolina’s economy — if HB2 isn’t repealed — at a staggering $3.76 billion.

Predictably, the bathroom wars haven’t been contained to just North Carolina. The Charlotte City Council’s actions and the North Carolina legislature’s response have sparked similar battles across the country.

While the faux battle over bathrooms rages on, a real war on the lives of LGBT people is being waged by Islamic extremists who have pledged the global elimination of LGBT people. Just this week, ISIS released photos of extremists in the Iraqi city of Mosul throwing a gay man to his death from the top of a building in the city.

Horrifically, the incident is not an isolated one.

Testifying before a United Nations meeting in August of 2015, Subhi Nahas, a 28-year Syrian refugee, said, “In the Islamic State, gays are being tracked and killed all the time…. At the executions, hundreds of townspeople, including children, cheered jubilantly as [if] at a wedding.”

And that kind of violence, as we know all too well after the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting, is not simply happening in territory controlled by ISIS.

It is time that LGBT people stop being used as political pawns, it is time that we end the farcical bathroom wars and, most importantly, it is time to focus on the real threats to the lives of LGBT people worldwide.

Also ignored: the same liberals who claim to be champions of gays performing and doing business in the Muslim world.

Obama sent condolences, prayers and weak condemnations….big deal, in other words he did nothing but make the problem worse. Orlando should be a wake up call to Gays who supported Obama and stick with the Democrats. They do this at their peril.

Keep speaking and writing Mr Barron. I’m not of the LGBT community and I’m praying for your safety.

Finally. Someone from the LGBT gets it right. “Conservatives”…are not your real enemy…democrats and islam are. You need to think and act…before islam gets more entrenched in the U.S. The dems are just using and playing you…like they try to do everyone else who gives them an ear.
One last thing…Never submit.

Agreed about the bathroom bills being a minor inconvenience when compared to the Islamic slaughter of innocents. But here is another thing to consider about frivolous complaints. Do you always get everything you want? If so, tell me how. I have been trying that my entire life and it still has not worked out for me. I use the word frivolous since a visit to the rest room shouldn’t take all that much time out of your daily schedule, unlessyou are the type that takes the sport page in there with you.

LGBT = Liberty, guns, beer (or bacon), and Trump.

Aren’t the LGBTQ people bringing attention to themselves? Perhaps if they were not trying to carve out special privileges for themselves, no one would bother them. They are trying to force everyone to accept their lifestyle as normal by suing those businesses who refuse to cater to their idea of marriage and now to allow men who do not even dress like women into women’s bathrooms. Just as the 5 pillars of Islam is being taught in schools, so is the behavior of the LGBTQ being taught as normal in schools as early as kindergarten.

Their lifestyle is their business. What right have you or I or anyone to take issue with whom loves whom. Gays are not a danger to heterosexuals or society. I don’t put myself in someone else’s bedroom and neither should you. Our children need to understand the differences as there has been violence against Gays for no other reason than ignorance of the facts.

Excuse me? The gay community is asking us into their bedrooms with their openly nonstop demands. By the way, there is no ignorance of the facts as they continue to inform us of what they want, how they are going to get it, etc. with no consideration for anyone but themselves. Their next step is to force ALL pastors to marry them, ALL churches to rent out their facilities for gay weddings, receptions, meetings, etc. In other words, trying to force those with strong religious beliefs to bend to their will. According to your philosophy, it doesn’t matter what we see with our own eyes, Muslims can claim we have to recognize Islam because we are ignorant of the facts re. their religion.

In living memory people were saying the same about African Americans. We liberated them, why do they need to vote, or share our toilets, diners, transport, shove their music and dances down our throats. Before that (and still is ) it was women. Why should they have equal pay, compete for jobs, maternity leave, etc.Shouldn’t have given them the vote, now all they do is demand. Before that, Catholics, Before them, Protestants, and ALWAYS the Jew. It’s called progress, a natural process which began with crawling out of the swamp on innumerable legs and builds on the previous stage .(As opposed to Progressives, who destroy all before them in order to impose a new order. ) Sometimes it seems like we take one step forward and two back, but hey , we’re humans, go figure. As to teaching Islam, the lessons should be more realistic, with representation from the oppressed as well.

Sorry. Teaching the 5 pillars of Islam includes the Shahada, which, from Wikipedia: “Shahada is a declaration of faith and trust that professes that there is only one God (Allah) and that Muhammad is God’s messenger”.

Sorry, I’ve been waging war elsewhere ! I meant any religious teaching should include the reality as practised., not just the sanitized claims– and either all main religions or none. My boys, in UK schools were given brief weekly resumes of all and this led to lively discussions with every new revelation, and greater tolerance , but this may have been partly due to their parents — ex C of S, pro Buddhist and ex Catholic, pro Jewish ! What I abhor is the sham, the lies and blurring of lines as in this instance. http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/753180/koran-passage-sung-st-mary-episcopal-cathedral-glasgow-arabic-scottish-church-service-god. Maybe acceptable if it could be reciprocated. How often do Mosques allow the infidel to preach a rebuttal to the Quran inside them ? This felt more like submission. —Islam.

Bruce Bawer is another gay man who has written extensively about how Mohammedan migration has endangered gays in Europe. In fact, it was an interview with him that aired on PBS that opened by eyes to the problem.

Essentially all are expendable to leftists bent on votes. The democrats these days if not “progressives” are dragged into the foray one way or another even if its quiet agreement. The same smile goes out to all who are strategically used in elections including, lgbt noted as pawns in this article, blacks, hispanics, asians, indians, muslims, criminals, subsidized, illegals, and refugees. That smile promises “freebies r’us” lifestyles and protections of an american system stretched to the limits that drains taxpayers. When elected there is often a slight honeymoon period then its a free for all for average existence of socialism for the voters. Its been going on for ages but its worse now with the leftists who mean to drum up not only control of government but to change it so that the governed will continue to be losers.

“….it is time to focus on the real threats to the lives of LGBT people worldwide.” and to the threat to all “infidels,” gay, straight, black, white, brown, etc., worldwide. It’s time to recognize that the safe, comfy, relatively affluent, modern, technological, western culture bubble most of the ardent apologists for “the religion of peace” dwell in, does not exist everywhere nor is it the aspiration or ardent, natural, human desire to emulate that these same “useful idiots” assume it to be.
