The attorney general is arguing on the basis of fact. The mayor is arguing on the basis of leftist wishful thinking. What will he say when one of his illegal “refugees” murders a New Yorker? Probably nothing: the enemedia will make sure that he faces no reckoning.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday that New Yorkers will be at risk of terror if Attorney General Jeff Sessions follows through on cutting federal law enforcement grants to sanctuary cities.
Sessions appeared at the White House to say that jurisdictions that ignore immigration detainers will lose Department of Justice grants, which total $4.1 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.
“President Trump’s latest threat changes nothing. We will remain a city welcoming of immigrants who have helped make our city the safest big city in the nation,” de Blasio said in response. “Any attempt to cut NYPD funding for the nation’s top terror target will be aggressively fought in court. We won’t back down from protecting New Yorkers from terror – or from an overzealous administration fixated on xenophobia and needless division.”

These mayors have to be delusional and/or on the payroll. Certainly they don’t live in the ghetto hoods or semi-livable gated communities and apartment buildings like many middle class. Going to new york for a young person used to be a chance at the big time and maystill be depending on your talent luck and/or how low you are willing to stoop but these days odds seem harder with all your hard-earned money perhaps going to a new micro apartment. Now that’s living! It won’t leave much for paying to get to an audition but you can say you “lived in new york” years later. With all their money gone on rent, newbies won’t forget to apply for welfare, food stamps, subway tokens and whatever else they can!
De blasio now lives in a mansion suitable for royalty but he used to live in a home that they now rent for only 4,000 a month – what a steal – or about 50,000 a year! Not bad for a humble “man of the people” liberal progressive mayor come up from rags and a father who survived ww2. You could say he’s doing alright at $225,000 pay a year and certainly votes – however you get them – pay. But what the heck you need that kind of green to pay for all those fine suits and security detail to show up at all the press conferences to promote sanctuary cities. He says, ” We must continue to embrace refugees in need who are victims of terror, not terrorists.” Certainly very few will have the embracing protection like de blasio.
