For all my Russian speaking readers, enjoy. I opine on the new era in US/Israel’s special relationship.

Строительство еврейских поселений, перенос посольства США в Иерусалим и израильско-палестинский конфликт — главные темы первой официальной встречи Дональда Трампа и Биньямина Нетаниягу. Итоги подвёл Валерий Кипелов.
When I was asked what it would take to achieve peace between the Israelis and Palestinians, I said Palestinians would have to abandon the jihad doctrine that commands them to “drive them put from where they drove you out” (Qur’an 2:191). It is falsely but universally applied to Israel, and prevents any recognition of Israel’s right to exist by Palestinian groups.
Question: On the possible relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, as well as the expansion of settlements will for sure irritate the Palestinians, and this might spark a new serious wave of terror attacks, more Israelis might die as a result. Is such escalation on behalf of Netanyahu worth it?
It is not on behalf of Netanyahu. It is on behalf of the truth. Jerusalem is the ancient capital of the Jews. Recognizing it is only right and proper. If it doesn’t cause escalation, something else will. If the jihadis don’t use this for a pretext, they will use something else.
– Question: Donald Trump has so far been quite unpredictable and inconsistent: he initially said he was going to be NEUTRAL on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, then he became very pro-Israel. What do you think his policies on the Middle East will actually be?
He has been pro-Israel. There is no reason at this point to believe that he will change course.
