Paris Tourism Falls 1.5 Million in 2016 after Terror Fears, Costs Economy $1.4 Billion

People know what’s going on even if the enemedia and the culture police insist all is fabuleux and magnifique in the La Ville-Lumière (city of lights). Despite banning terms such as “no-go zones,” the people know.

The Louvre attack, Bataclan, Hyper Casher kosher market, the Charlie Hebdo jihad slaughter, and now tourists are targeted and robbed. Tourists have been advised to stay away — the only people still booking their flights are New York Times readers and anyone else who gets news from the kool-aid dispensers.

The city also announced this month that it was building an eight-foot tall bullet-proof glass wall around the Eiffel Tower, with visitors forced to enter through new security check points.

Paris Tourism Falls 1.5 Million in 2016 after Terror Fears, Costs Economy €1.3 Billion

Paris and the surrounding region lost 1.5 million tourists on 2016 as visitors, especially from the Far East, stay away due to ongoing terror fears.

According to the Comité Regional du Tourisme, the Paris Ile-de-France region also lost 1.3 billion euros in tourist income, while the number of nights spent by foreign visitors in the region’s hotels also fell by 10.8 per cent.

Some sights in particular “have suffered deeply from the lack of tourists and cancellations by school groups”, the committee says, including the Arc de triomphe which saw a 24 per cent drop in visitors.

The Louvre museum, which earlier this month was subject to an attack from a machete wielding man shouting “Allahu Akbar”, also saw a 13.3 per cent drop last year.

The fears have even hit Disneyland Paris, which saw a 9.5 per cent drop in foreign visitors.

This month has seen a series of disturbances in Paris’s suburbs, with one coachload of Korean tourists robbed when men climbed aboard their coach, shouting threats.

One witness described the incident as “ten minutes of horror”, revealing that one of the men threatened the tourists with an object “resembling a glass bottle”.

The disturbances began after a black youth was allegedly raped with a police truncheon while being arrested. Evenings of rioting spread through the suburbs, with cars torched, windows smashed and shops looted. At times, police appeared to have completely lost control of the situation.

The South Korean government has now warned nationals from visiting Paris as tourists, in a move which will cause further damage to France’s ailing tourism industry.

The city also announced this month it was building an eight-foot tall bullet-proof glass wall around the Eiffel Tower, with visitors forced to enter through new security check points.

Paris suffered one of the worst terror attacks in recent European history in November 2015, when 130 were killed in a series of bombings and shootings across the city.

Those attacks came just months after Islamists stormed the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and murdered several staff, including the editor.

They even got to Kim K. *That* will get the attention of MSM :)

  • Mahou Shoujo

paris, karachi, beirut, tripoli, london, copenhagen, all the same, islamic gutters and garbage dumps of islam. Who in there right mind would visit paris, paying first world prices for third world distain, contempt and ignorant arrogance.

    • Mel

Right, keep on spreading ignorant views of the world. Seems like the less people travel, the more gullible they become!! 😱😂

      • Mahou Shoujo

Apparently you live under a rock.

        • felix1999

Students will still “study abroad” – IDIOTS!

          • Mahou Shoujo

Too bad they rarely learn anything other than bad habits to add to what they acquire domestically.

          • Tm.

            Students? December 21, 1988.

      • Serlio

Yeah, this hysteria is all because of that fake news stuff and those gullible deplorables, or is it deplorable gullibles. Lol. Europe has never been safer, and we know it, Mel. Everyone should be as enlightened as you, then they could just stop the hate and fear-mongering, and just chill.

        • IzlamIsTyranny

Dear muslum, your Al Taqiyya needs a lot more work and your breathe stinks of camel urine.

          • Serlio

Actually, friend, I was being quite sarcastic towards the poster, Mel. I am certainly no friend of Islam. But, sometimes, one can effectively demonstrate how stupid a person’s argument is, by agreeing with them in excess. That’s all I was doing. Just check the comments that I’ve liked on this forum.

          • IzlamIsTyranny

            I apologize.

      • JCL154

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.

        • Tm.

The point is that each man should be allowed to discover “his own truth” if he wishes, or left in peace if he does not wish it. Countries and their people all have various beliefs. Each to his own belief. Do not try to compel the beliefs on others, the way it will go is not always as anticipated.

      • IzlamIsTyranny

Too bad you weren’t among the people tortured to death by f’ing muslums in the Bataclan theatre retard.

      • pipo

Well I had to encounter, where I live, some French tourists (from Paris) and they thought all was fine. But then again what is the French Television portraying or to say denying. Then I went for a coffee (not water from the Seine) and thought f*ck the French.

    • tatka150

It used to be beautiful. I have a nice memories at least. Sad.

  • Lysy2

Dear American tourists, please come and visit Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Prague, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Eger, Karlove Vary. Come to Central Europe! It is CLEAN, it is SAFE, Americans are WELCOMED, people here are friendly, it is relatively inexpensive, food is great! You can walk at night without fear, cops are everywhere, and first and foremost THERE ARE NO MUSLIMS!

    • Serlio

God bless you sensible, righteous folk!

    • felix1999

      Hmmm that is worth considering!

    • knightsstrength

Thanks for saying where there are no Muslim.

What the west needs again is King John III Sobieski to fight back against the Muslims and not leave one alive as he drives all back into hell

  • Security is always an issue nowadays, but if we succumb to fear so easily, the terrorists will already have won.

    • IzlamIsTyranny

Yeah, let’s not submit to fear, it’s better to let the f’ing muslums continue to kill without any impediments.

  • s;vbkr0boc,klos;

RED ALERT: Airport security has created the most DANGEROUS target in every city in the West – the jam packed crowds of people waiting to be checked through security. People are also carrying luggage and so a bomb will go unnoticed. The Istanbul airport attack occurred in just such an area.

  • AlgorithmicAnalyst

    La Tour Eiffel :)

  • Roseanne Sansouci

France now says how much they are losing because of refugee terrorism. I wonder who will be next! Greece, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany or England? Just to name a few.

  • felix1999

Building a WALL around the Eiffel Tower yet leaving borders WIDE OPEN and taking in MORE Muslims hardly makes sense. I hope Le Pan gets in or France is finished.

    • tatka150

In this scenario they have to build the wall around Louvre, Opera, Monmartr, Mullen Rouge, Versailles etc. It’s just ridiculous! They would rather close the borders and deport all the garbage. Hope Marine Le Pan will help them.

      • IzlamIsTyranny

And everyone outside the protected enclaves risks being raped, robbed or murdered by f’ing muslums.

        • tatka150

When a few years ago I and my husband visited Paris, we were insulted by idle muzzies who were selling the ugly cheap pictures on the square near George Pompedou Center. We didn’t want to buy the garbage, and they become very upset. They would probably kill us now.

  • knightsstrength

Good tourism falls and needs to fall to most European countries when they do not expel Muslims

  • Alleged Comment

Oh, the libs there knew it would happen. Don’t you see? They want France to SUFFER and FALL – into the hands of Moslems.

Probably within 50 years. Going right on schedule. Betch you see the liberals making a toast to this. Bye-Bye France!

    • aebe

Give it ten . France it will remain on the map , maybe . And French a language spoken only by exiles .

  • Peter Joffe

What is all the fuss about? The French government welcomes terrorists into France and continue to do so. When the Louvre is changed into a mosque perhaps Muslim tourists will replace the lovers of art and culture so everyone will be happy and the Ayatollah can collect priceless works of art as Hitler, Goebbels and Goering did 70 years ago. The Eiffel Tower can be used to hang people and to teach gays to fly. Large fees and tourism will flood into Franceistan to witness the fun. Tourism will boom but not for civilised people.

    • IzlamIsTyranny

Your islamic re-purposing of the Eiffel Tower is C’est magnifique!

    • tatka150

They will destroy the masterpieces. Like everything else what they touch

  • IzlamIsTyranny

Maybe Paris can become a new jihad tourist destination!

    • pipo

      Jihad Disney!

  • bannedquran20

Serves them right neighbor. Dumb Clucks.

  • Tm.

I would not set foot there. It would break my heart. What it once was, what it once meant to go there, the love, joy, awe that such a trip meant is GONE. BURIED.
They have ONE HOPE. Vote Marine Le Pen, or they shall go the way of Austria.

    • Sophie L’hôte

Don’t believe everything she writes… I am French living near Paris and I am not leaving in fear!

  • Sophie L’hôte

It is because of all the fake news you spread about my country. You make people scared and they shouldn’t be. I am French and I live near Paris. There are not any no go zones…

    • pipo

Right you are you live near Paris. So there are no real problems. My late mother was French and always told us to stay a way from the French. You cannot trust the French nor the Italians. They will stab you in the back. As they do today. Nice European Union.

      • Sophie L’hôte

Good to see xenophobia isn’t dead. What a ridiculous statement – So your late mother told you to never trust her? Brilliant :)

        • pipo

Not really, the French murdered my mothers family in Lyon.

          • Sophie L’hôte

So there must be many Americans that do not trust all Americans after some Americans have murdered their families. Yeah, that’s a sound argument :)

        • IzlamIsTyranny

A muslum? Whining about xenophobia? All muslum states persecute people of other faiths as per the holey quranus et. al.

          • Sophie L’hôte

I am not a muslim (or a muslum)

  • jjeffs63

The French brought it on themselves with unfettered muslim immigration. It was OK when the terrorism was only directed at Jews, wasn’t it? The general feeling there is that absent the connection to The Charlie Hebdo massacre, Hyper Cacher would have been seen as no big deal. Now that it is affecting French society as a whole, people/voters are starting to notice.

  • conan_drum

Paris the City of Lights out. I hope the mayor of Paris is soon voted out of office,

  • Merlinever

This is financial jihad against France and the French government is responsible for allowing it to be carried out against its own country. When are the French people ever going to WAKE UP?

  • pipo

Why do they not deploy the French Foreign Legion in the so-called no-go zones. I reckon in a day of two the problem is solved.

  • Terry B

France’s elected government gave away their culture and freedom. Only a full scale war would rid France of their “Muslim Refugee” occupiers. It cost America dearly during world War II to rid France of its occupiers. Now we may be forced to do it again simply because we are the only country that can do it.

    • robscottw

You think we’re going to go save France from the Muslims?

We can’t even convince our own people of the danger.

Europe is lost unless it is willing to go full scale genocide at this point.

I don’t think that is going to happen.

  • Steve

All that for diversity. What if muslim refugees were roaches, wait, they are, and what if they started multiplying and overran France, or the EU, what sense would it make to just put out more food for the roaches to be nice and accomodating. What sense would it make to keep getting insect repellent to avoid the roaches and still exist with the problem instead of getting rid of them?
