A Middle-Eastern Woman Exposes H1B Visas and Why Silicon Valley is Fighting So Hard for Them

41

I run this anonymously for the obvious reasons. I received this submission from a Middle Eastern woman who said, “I am really confused about everything that is going on in this country. I really cant believe Trump are treated so unfair…..”

Again the enemedia has refused to tell the real story about this critical issue.

RCP: In a letter dated November 14, a lobbying group whose members included Twitter, Netflix, Facebook, and Google urged President-elect Donald Trump to increase the number. “The U.S. immigration system must allow more high-skilled graduates and workers to stay in the United States and contribute to our economy,” wrote Michael Beckerman, president of the Internet Association. Last week, tech big shots like Apple CEO Tim Cook, Alphabet CEO Larry Page and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella met with Trump in New York. You can bet the pitch was similar.

Story continues below advertisement
Their economic argument, that the industry suffers from a shortage of workers, is false and misleading. Big tech companies take advantage of the H1B program to drive their bottom line. The law permits companies to lay off their own employees in favor of foreign workers doing the work in the states or overseas. Think about that. The law does more than look the other way at firms that hire foreign workers instead of American citizens; it allows companies to ditch their own employees so they can hire foreign nationals. Remember the recent story about laid-off Disney workers who were forced to train their foreign replacements?

Not surprisingly, tech firms use the provision to their advantage. In late 2014, Microsoft laid off 21,000 workers. In September 2015, Hewlett Packard announced it was cutting 25,000 to 30,000 workers. That was on top of the 55,000 jobs it slashed the year before.

Another problem with the H1B program is the law rewards companies for outsourcing their training programs. About half, or 40,000 of the visas handed out each year, don’t go to firms such as Microsoft, Apple or Facebook, the companies we think about when we hear H1B. They go to professional offshore outsourcing firms such as Cognizant, which received 9,000 H1B’s last year.

Outsourcing firms operate an almost pyramid-like system: they bring foreign nationals to the United States, who then learn the jobs of American citizens. Then these foreign workers return home overseas. Many times, the best workers in India arrive in a tech-friendly city such as Seattle, learn the ins and outs of their host company, fly back to the subcontinent to run a call center or IT department, and train their workers with the skills they learned in the United States.

Here’s an insider ‘s account.

I am a Middle Eastern woman who came to the US as a graduate student in 2014. During the presidential election, I supported  the Trump campaign and as a result I got in to heated discussions with many of my liberal friends and colleagues. I completely understand that Trump’s style is brash and unorthodox and he can be extremely critical of sensitive issues which puts him at odds with liberals and most of the world. However, I truly believe he defends  the interest of the American people.  Being the reader of this article you might ask yourself why I am supporting his policies despite his attitude toward Middle Easters and immigrants. I believe many would change their minds about his policies concerning immigration and H1B if they finished reading this article.

At the moment the President is trying to pass a bill to increase the minimum salary of H1B visa holders and is looking to implement tougher  background checks on H1B applicants, as a result many American liberals are attacking him. Some Americans believe that the H1B is the engine of innovation and high technological jobs that  they say Americans are unable to perform.  However, there is immense evidence that proves H1B is not only taking jobs from Americans but also from true foreign  talent.

Trump met with the CEO’s of large American corporations who claimed they are unable to find qualified American workers. Therefore, they are asking the president to review his new immigration policies along with the H1B visa bill.

Here I am going to talk about what made America the greatest country in the world and why it is necessary for everyone to recognize these values so will be able to identify what policy is good and benefits America and what policy is not. My father was in the US about 40 years ago and his experience is totally different from what I have observed here. I always loved American values such as honesty and hard work that my father talked about it all the time, but in my opinion these values are not respected by some of immigrants and that is why I think it is necessary that someone like Trump protects and revives these values.  Trump is right when he talks about broken immigration system or giving jobs to Americans. The growing corruption in the job market especially in the IT industry is very dangerous for the future of this country. The IT industry has one of the highest pay rate jobs in the US, It also produces jobs more than any other industry in the US. However, this rich, vibrant industry is mostly controlling by Indians in the US not because they are intelligent.

The long story short, there are many staffing agencies, that recruit foreign students from third world countries such as India with absolutely no work experience. They are told to create fake resumes with 7 to 10 years experience and then staffing agencies teach them how to effectively lie in order to deceive recruiters and be hired by American corporations. Meanwhile  American students who have earned legitimate  college degree remain unemployed. Another point worth mentioning is, even the foreign students not willing to commit fraud also remain unemployed in the US. American citizens have no chance of interviewing for these positions since there isn’t fair competition in the market and also they don’t get hired by those staffing agencies. The other issue is foreigners and professionals with lower but with credible work experience most likely will remain unemployed too. When I am speaking about fake or unreal, Let me explain in more detail. It is my guess there are approximately 300 staffing agencies, that train fresh foreign graduates for 4 to 6 weeks for jobs like business analyst or quality assurance, they are then sent to companies like Wells Fargo, Chase, Molina Healthcare, BCBS, United Healthcare and other huge American companies with a pay rate of  approximately $50.00 to $100.00 per hour but the students get paid between $25.00 to $35.00 per hour. The revenue from these Indian agencies exceeds 30 million dollar per year. Imagine the feeling of those Americans or foreigners who work hard to establish legitimate businesses. If the US government were to investigate the IT contractors of some of these American corporations mentioned above, they would find that almost all of the contractors have entered with falsified credentials and counterfeited immigration documents because these agencies introduce them as Green Card holders or US Citizen. The resume of those students include about 7 to 10 years of false experiences with projects in the very well-known companies while they just graduated and they are 21 to 28. Now the new America is not about the hard work and honesty, it is about who is telling the best lies and the system rewards them for it.  This is unfortunate that even if Americans enter the IT industry they have to work hard for 5 years to be in the same position that the foreign students get in less than one month.

Why Is This Happening?

American companies don’t want to spend time and money to train potential employees and keep them indefinitely. They want a huge replaceable labor force so they’ll have the option of dismissing them whenever they want. By doing so, they also will be able to maintain unemployment rate which prevents an inflated economy but unfortunately, the unemployed Americans or honest foreigners who don’t want to contribute in fraud will remain unemployed.

Economics Impact

The economic impact of these fraudulent businesses is horrific. Over 50% of US corporations had failed IT projects last year, mostly due to a lack of properly trained business analyst. In addition the productivity of these students are quit low, but they are hired as experienced contractors. American companies unknowingly inject a lot of cash into this fraudulent system, while they should hire American students or qualified foreign students and pay them lower rate and spend the rest of it to train their workforce which is more efficient.

On the other side the real brain power and scientists  have a much lower chance of receiving H1B and work in the US. The United State has an annual limit on issuing H1B visa, however, the US government has decided to apply a lottery system since the number of H1B applications have increased tremendously within the past 10 years due to these fraudulent business practices. It means that many real scientists are not able to receive this visa because their names have not been selected by  the lottery. In fact the US is losing its brain power since the government doesn’t investigate the applicants’ background properly. Americans are simply excluded from this thriving market because staffing agencies fear that their dirty game would be exposed to the public. I have really no idea how these industries are created but I know a firm and strong man like Trump would be able to end this nonsense which is happening in this country right now.

[the_ad id=”84101″]

Liberal and Business Owners point of view:

Dr. Michio Kaku believes that the H1B is a Americas secret weapon. He would be absolutely right provided the H1B is granted according to some standard. Unfortunately 2/3 of H1B visas go to IT workers, which is a relatively high number of them is quality assurance and business analyst. Hiring unreal professional and eliminating Americans from the IT job market does not benefit America or its economy. I challenge the government to investigate the backgrounds of H1B holders and find out just how many of them have just graduated from college with absolutely no work experience and doing the job that Americans are not able to do them while American students are having a difficult time to get in the same positions or market. Dr Kaku mentioned that stupidity rank is increasing in the US and that is why H1B is necessary for the economy. Americans are not stupid, they are not given the same opportunities that the other international people receive here therefore, there is harder for them to grow.

Also Dr. Kaku criticized the US’s educational system. It is good to know that thousands of foreigners come to the US every year to study in this so called broken educational system and after graduation, they are called the brain power of this country. It would be worthy  to mention the US still has the highest ranked universities in the world.

During the meeting of CEO with Trump in the white house, the companies’ CEO mentioned that they are not able to find the qualified people for the jobs. I really think the government needs to regulate these companies. How these companies issue such complicated criteria in their jobs descriptions and qualifications while these jobs are filled with students who have no experience. Therefore it would be logical to conclude that most of those qualifications are not necessary to do the jobs and in fact is a learning process.  Actually, every American student is able to do these jobs if the companies provide them two to three weeks training.

Solution:

First, government should regulate the H1B visa intensively. These regulations can be included minimum education, experience, and the type of jobs and also the entity who applies for their H1B. Increasing the minimum salary of H1B holders is a great initiative from the Trump administration. If this bill is passed, those agencies would not be able to pay to their consultants. In addition, running this kind of business would not be profitable anymore. However, qualified scientists already earn such annual salary since their expertise is in high demand. This bill will benefit America’s economy and American people. It also benefits the scientists who are willing to work in the US and receive legal status.

Second, government agencies should monitor available IT positions with companies and mandate that American citizens have first priority and train them for these jobs instead of hiring fake unproductive foreigners and paying them huge salaries with training.  I believe it is totally fine for foreigners work in the US but this fraudulent  system should end immediately.

Buy American, the job you save many be your own. American industry, increase the quality of your products, the economy is in recession, disposable incomes are down, bang for the buck is what consumers have in mind. There is a demand for quality, fill it.

This explains the extreme unemployment rate, underemployment rate, and low wages of American college graduates. It also explains why their parents are experiencing the worst “failure to launch” predicament in US history.

American industry, especially consumer manufacturing, has been resting on its laurels for too long. Quality is supposed to be job #1, the quality goes in before the price tag is attached. Get with he program, America taught the world about progress, it apparently forgot to read its own notes.

I believe this is the critical part of the article, as a person in the construction business for over fifty years with all the complaints involved I never read or saw an article on the drive to increase the work force to keep the wage rate down. This is outside of the supply and demand parameters, that I’m well aware of. So now we have illegals aliens working at dirt wages, we have coddled them through welfare state, then the Marxist Democrats come in scoop them up well take care of you vote Democrat. Then nothings changed. It’s time to MAGA this sheeit.

What can we do about big companies like Amazon?
– It seems that Bezos had a role in halting Trump’s travel ban. https://t.co/2nWmGomYYq
– Bezos also owns the Washington Post which is nothing but an anti-Trump blog.

Individually, we can do nothing, boycotts have never been shown to be effective. The only thing is to, over time, subtly display disapproval by using alternate services, like going to “mewe” instead of face book,

As someone who lives in the “far North” country where there are not a lot of stores, I’ve used Amazon for convenience in the past, but I’m learning to ‘do without’ these times. Their customer service is non-existent, they have become very slow in filling orders, and it is now taking up to 3 weeks to receive said order. I’m done.

Have been for responsible for 4 out of 5 model improvements in a mining mill equipment item. Yes, quality. However, I compete against Chinese stuff that is 1/4 and 1/5 the retail price delivered here. At Chinese prices you buy throw away equipment and come out ahead. We are getting beat to hell overseas in markets. These account is completely true.

Todays business, despite the shrieks and howls on environmentalist retards and recycling fools, is based on cost. If it is more profitable and less costly to make disposable items, then that is how it is. Everyone especially customers and consumers is looking at the bottom line, it is disadvantageous for the government to try adjusting it by taxes or tariffs. The playing field must be kept level, that is the only business intervention government should be involved in.

Generally speaking import fees and other taxes are not good, as they tend to stifle trade. When business is allowed to violate laws and foreign governments interfere with the relatively free market, it makes for an unlevel economic plain field. Minimal government interference in the market place is necessary for it to work.

I believe when people like to buy quality they have to pay a little bit more. When I want to buy something and see the item cost more because made (really) in Germany I buy it. Mr. President Trump is the man and will make the United States strong again. Just buy only made in the U.S. (even when it cost a bit more). We, or at least me, want a Trump man in Europe.

– The heads of major IT companies such Google, Microsoft, etc. are Indian. Whom do you think they are going to favor? Whites are discouraged from thinking in tribal terms; but other cultures do not think this way.

Only one major IT company is headed by an Indian, Microsoft, and it’s pretty well known that Bill Gates, who has returned to the company on a part-time basis runs the show. Indians are known for founding and running some of the least innovative and terrible to work for companies in the Valley, not the good ones.

The real problem is that the greedy Americans at the top of these companies would rather hire an Indian who can do an adequate job for a lower salary than an American who will do a great job for a higher one.

Here is a true story. I worked in a large IT dept. for a co. owned by Ross Perot in Folsom, CA. I was a long term contractor. One of two white men in about a total staff of 50+. The other white man was also a contract worker. All the staff were Indians in the age range of 25-30, all men. All employees with benes. My boss was a white woman. Her fiance was Indian. One other white woman worked in the dept. Four whites out of 50+ and 3 were contractors, not eligible for regular hiring. That sucking sound you all heard was Ross Perot flushing American white people down the toilet. No lie GI!

P.S. The Indians brought over ALL their extended families, bought up small businesses locally, fired all the Americans, starting with the blacks, browns, then white women. I know because I worked part-time for one. The Indian owner told me what they were doing and why. He told me he was keeping me because I was a white man and he wanted to learn the biz from me and keep up some appearances so as to not chase off American customers. No lie GI.

In the Intel Campus in Folsom they have 6,000 employees. Most are foreign. If you want a job there best be fluent in Hindi and not over 30. Chinese helps, too. You can get a plastic doc to do your eyes before you apply. They say it helps. You only get one chance to make a good first impression you know.

Immigration. Sure. My mum was an immigrant, from Down Under. Go’day mates!

There is certainly an abundance of issues surrounding the H1B VISA program. The most fundamental issue is the ethics of bringing in tens of thousands of foreign workers while qualified Americans can’t get a job. As the article points out, the corporations aren’t even saving that much by hiring foreign workers are lower salaries, because the outsourcing companies charge nearly the same rate of pay an American worker would demand and pocketing the difference. What the corporations do get is flexibility, and they get people who will put up with anything to keep their jobs be allowed to remain in America.

However, this lengthy article is one of the worst I have seen on the subject. This woman doesn’t know much about Hi Tech and her view is from a bit of a distance. She said this of foreign recruits to outsourcing companies: “They are told to create fake resumes with 7 to 10 years experience and then staffing agencies teach them how to effectively lie in order to deceive recruiters and be hired by American corporations.” Gimme a break. I’m a software engineer. It takes years of experience on top of a solid educational background to work in our leading hi tech companies. Even a college grad from a top school can be pretty useless until he gains experience. You really have to know your profession to work in the industry. The foreign workers they bring in are the best and brightest. They have to be, or America wouldn’t have a hi tech industry in such a highly competitive world.

Another quote from her: “50% of US corporations had failed IT projects last year, mostly due to a lack of properly trained business analyst.” That is how it has always been in the industry since the beginning, many decades ago now, long before outsourcing came upon the scene in the 90’s. There are many reasons for failed IT projects, but this question is outside the scope of this comment.

There is one thing on the topic however I think that is far more important to state than the entire article, and that is the phoney stance of Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Apple and others on Trump’s immigration initiative. They complain about losing potentially qualified workers but how many come from the countries that Trump listed in his ban? A few dozen maybe, as opposed to tens and hundreds of thousands from elsewhere? Even if more than a few dozen, it would be less than one percent. That is the real issue here, not some long discussion on the H1B program in general that should be left to more knowledgeable people to discuss. So these companies had no basis whatsoever to make a statement, except to appease the Left among their employees and management. It was a fake issue.

The “solution” as stated in this text is garbage. Its saying we need to monitor it more? What for? It’s not needed at all!
If the entire program needs to by scrapped, the US economy will work it it out. I don’t need to explain how. For now we can just say it simply…”supply and demand”.
Why does the government need to add regulations to IT Jobs? Why do all solutions to H1B articles have to involve more regulations? We should do the same for all jobs then…why do we have to pick on IT jobs! What a scam!

The money involved must be astronomical…$$$$$ See it graphically in the following video.

The draconian issues regarding Windows 10 automatic updates implies to me a foreign (aka Indian) hand out to sabotage Miscrosoft’s reputaion. These upgates have caused anger and dismay amongst millions of computer / laptop owners, to say nothing of millions of hours of lost work when devices have suddenly stopped working to download and install these massive updates and then to restart the said devices afterwards. This policy of ignoring the real needs of computer owners and users is arrogant in the extreme, Why should these folk have to entirely reorganise their lives around Miscrosoft’s updates? Customers’ needs must come first. If they purchase a computer as a tool for theor professio, work or jobs then that is what it is – a tool and their beck and command. Microsoft thinks otherwise. The whole culture of Microsoft now smacks of sabotage from India workers who frankly haven’t a clue about how to meet the needs of Western computer professionals and users. Linux rules all the way.

The last 10 years of my working life was as a contract programmer (retired in 1990). At one of my jobs, an Indian female programmer told me she would be so glad when her husband finished his gig – he was being worked 60-80 hours a week. I told her that at least the overtime was good. She said they had him on salary and would give him a $500 “bonus” at the end.

Then she threw me the hooker – the company he worked for only charged the client for 40 hours work. How can anyone compete with a deal like that? As an employer, who would you choose, the guy who worked 80 and charged for 40, or an American programmer who expected to be paid for each hour he worked?

As an American programer, the little OT I got was at straight time due to the high rate. I had no problem with that but when I griped to a pro-H1B professor about the above deal, he said it couldn’t be true as “That was against the law.” My God, how naive can you get? That’s how companies get around the “pay the same as U.S. workers.
