As much as mainstream media is focused on Meryl Streep and her Golden Globes attack on Donald Trump for his supposed mocking of a disabled reporter – something he’s denied ever taking place – the fact is one of the left’s own, an MTV News writer and host, poked fun of one on the ideological right for something that can’t be helped, for traits of birth.
From the Daily Caller:
“Ira Madison III, an MTV News culture writer and host, mocked Sen. Jeff Sessions’ Asian-American grandchildren on Twitter Tuesday morning.”
Sessions was before the U.S. Senate Committee on Judiciary for a hearing on his presidential nomination as attorney general. He brought members of his family, including his four Asian-American grandchildren, the children of his daughter, Ruth Sessions Walk, and John Walk.
Madison took note and tweeted, alongside a photo of Sessions’ little Asian-American granddaughter:
“Sessions, sir, kindly return this Asian baby to the Toys ‘R’ Us you stole her from.”
The media, however, is consumed with praising Streep for publicly attacking Trump and apparently, doesn’t have time to similarly report on the attack on kids of conservatives.
From the Daily Caller again:
“Madison then defended his attacks on Sessions’ family before returning to allegations the senator harbors racist sympathies. In addition to writing regularly for MTV News, he is the host of the MTV podcast ‘MTV Speed Dial.’
“His comments are not the first time journalists have mocked the minority grandchildren of white Republicans. An MSNBC panel led by former host Melissa Harris Perry derided former GOP Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s black grandchild on television in December 2013.”
