FDR Praised Mussolini and Loved Fascism

32

History is brandished like an AR-15 by the American left when it appears to fit their narrow worldview, but shunned when it turns out to be less flexible than the talking points Barack Obama gives to Chris Matthews to cause that presidential “tingle.”

To be fair, many leftists have begun to feel the need to add a little spice to their routine spewing of the Hitler label, so a new favorite zinger has emerged: “Fascism” is the new debate-ending slur of choice employed by fashionable pseudo-historians everywhere.

Unfortunately for the left, it turns out that Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) and other key Democrats were actually fans of Adolf Hitler and his Italian fascist copycat Benito Mussolini. If that isn’t the pot calling the kettle…(well, you know).

Story continues below advertisement

Yes, it’s true. The architect of the modern left and the patriarch of neo-liberalism admitted to drawing considerable inspiration from the fascist uprisings led by both Hitler and Mussolini prior to the outbreak of WWII (when admission of Nazi sentiments became hazardous to one’s health.)

Even Joseph P. Kennedy and Prescott Bush were waist-deep in cash derived from shaking the bloody hand of Hitler, a fact these self-appointed ruling families continue to whisk away from public view at crucial moments of political determination.

FDR and his foremost cheerleaders at the time specifically espoused open support for the efficiency of Mussolini and Hitler, and welcomed fascism (minus the war) at home.

Roosevelt himself once called Mussolini “admirable,” adding that he was “deeply impressed by what he has accomplished.” Mussolini returned the compliment with adulatory praise, writing of Roosevelt’s many reforms, “Reminiscent of Fascism is the principle that the state no longer leaves the economy to its own devices … Without question, the mood accompanying this sea change resembles that of Fascism.”

Leftists from academia, the media, and Roosevelt’s own administration were among those rallying around a brownshirt pipedream.

FDR adviser Rexford Guy Tugwell said of Italian fascism: “It’s the cleanest, neatest, most efficiently operating piece of social machinery I’ve ever seen. It makes me envious,” adding that, “I find Italy doing many of the things which seem to me necessary … Mussolini certainly has the same people opposed to him as FDR has.”

NAACP co-founder W. E. B. DuBois viewed the Nazi rise positively, saying that Hitler’s dictatorship had been “absolutely necessary to get the state in order.” In 1937, DuBois stated: “there is today, in some respects, more democracy in Germany than there has been in years past.”

New Republic editor George Soule, who avidly supported FDR, noted approvingly that the Roosevelt administration was “trying out the economics of fascism.” Now, New Republic pages are full of outright defamation accusing Trump of being a fascist.

New York Times reporter Anne O’Hare McCormick wrote fawningly in the aftermath of Roosevelt’s inauguration that Washington, D.C., is “strangely reminiscent of Rome in the first weeks after the march of the Blackshirts, of Moscow at the beginning of the Five-Year Plan … America today literally asks for orders.” The Roosevelt administration, she added, “envisages a federation of industry, labor and government after the fashion of the corporative State as it exists in Italy.”

At the National Recovery Administration (NRA), which is a Roosevelt agency created under the New Deal, a report was published stating boldly, “The Fascist Principles are very similar to those we have been evolving here in America.”

A younger FDR even embraced a possible future where democracy would be abandoned and a personality cult installed in its place.

“They passed beyond the liberty of the individual to do as he pleased with his own property and found it necessary to check this liberty for the benefit of the freedom of the whole people,” Roosevelt said in a 1912 address to the People’s Forum of Troy, New York.

In fact, at his first inauguration address, Roosevelt practically adapted the verbiage of Europe’s ominous strong-men for the more ironic and irreverent American lexicon — but the anti-democratic substance is easy to identify all the same:

If we are to go forward, we must move as a trained and loyal army willing to sacrifice for the good of a common discipline. We are, I know, ready and willing to submit our lives and property to such discipline, because it makes possible a leadership which aims at a larger good. I assume unhesitatingly the leadership of this great army … I shall ask the Congress for the one remaining instrument to meet the crisis — broad executive power to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the power that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe.

Words like this would work just as well in Nuremberg square.

Liberals are either delusional or willfully disingenuous when they conduct character assassinations of Republican standard-bearers based on flimsy comparisons to “Hitler.”

But it is infinitely better to be compared to a leftist caricature of Hitler than to vocally support the actual Hitler, as so many Democrats did when he was a living, breathing threat to humanity.

Where were TIME Magazine’s juvenile antics then? Ah yes, recognizing Adolf Hitler as “Person of the Year.”

@ Pamela Geller…..So, what’s up with Ilhan Omar claiming to be the victim of a hate crime in DC?

She claimed her cab driver verbally attacked her, as well as threatened to pull her hijab off. She tweeted and posted on her Facebook account, but did not report the incident to police, or even call the cab co. Is this because she wanted to avoid an investigation, which would have revealed a fraudulent police report?

Omar is the married, elected Minnesota rep who married her brother, who subsequently immigrated to the US, and received a taxpayer funded university degree. After graduation, he moved into a public housing complex, and was later deported for unknown reasons.

These events prompted accusations of bigamy, incestuous marriage, Immigration fraud, etc against Omar.

Actually Pamela Hitler copied Mussolini. The latter already had his Blackshirts so Hitler had to settle for brown shirts, for which he purchased some obsolete uniforms from the Austrian Customs Service. Hitler always had a lot of respect for Mussolini who he regarded as the first fascist leader. He even sent commandos to rescue him when he was first captured by partisans in Italy.

Actually, Conan_Drum, Hitler’s Brownshirts were established early on in Hitler’s political career. The Brownshirts were put in the audience to monitor the crowd and to manage the disrupters from the Communist Party and elsewhere.

This is very interesting. It surely looks as if world’s elite of that time saw fascism as the future for the world.
No wonder, fascism is the easiest way to rule.

Anyone concerned, especially Americans, should read THE SECRET TERRORISTS by: BILL HUGHES.

Read it before he supported Hitler, but one must ask why Prescott Bush, Joseph Kennedy, and other Bankers, corporations helped Hitler but never imprissioned. FRD also said to have stayed out of the war, till last moments

Joseph Kennedy helped Hitler, lost his first son and almost lost JFK in war, what a loveable dad, like killing his two sons.

Notice there is not a stitch of bibliographical sourcing listed for this load of revisionist garbage. Among many other books, I have read “Memoirs” by Cordell Hull who was FDR’s Secretary of State for the first eleven years he was in office. In two volumes comprising 1,267 pages there is not a even a whiff of this intellectual flatulence. The truth of the matter is that there was a very strong isolationist element in US politics during this period, famous aviator Charles Lindbergh chief among them, which was the reason we supplied Britain with armaments under the Lend-Lease Act to keep from violating the Neutrality Acts. Pearl Harbor brought us out of our delusional shell.

Consider the source.

Unfortunately, there is an emerging body of scholarship about FDR’s intellectual and moral failings—including some rather his unwitting and ignorant participation in advancing the policies of the hard Left—that has come to light in recent years which portrays him as somewhat less noble than the American public has been led to believe. It may well be that the ‘revisionism’ you perceive is a manifestation of that.

Ultimately, history is the judge.

Who composes this “emerging body of scholarship”? Names, titles? It has become all the rage for unemployed hacks to pass themselves off as some sort of authority who has “found new evidence”, supposedly, to generate book sales. I never see these guys interviewed or covered in any way by the media or their works listed or reviewed on any best-seller lists. It is reminiscent of New Orleans AG Jim Garrison garnering “new details” from witnesses concerning the JFK assassination, only to find the testimony he cites was taken from persons who had been hypnotized, administered truth serum, or both. Either of those conditions make testimony of this sort inadmissible in a US court of law.

We were already at war with Japan and the administration intended to use their overt attack as an excuse to go to war officially since the American public favored isolationism after the losses and futility of WWI. That they struck us at Pear Harbor was totally unexpected until the last hours, and that shocking action provided Roosevelt even more emotional cause for war. The conspiracies theories are wrong since they factually expected something like the Philippines, which was more easily within their reach., Let’s not confuse Roosevelt’s ideological duplicity and political corruption with the realities that they knew existed and actively assisted. When Germany attacked the USSR he had to choose sides in what is basically a family dispute (fascism/communism) of how to rule the neighborhood, so he went with Uncle Joe. .

You are confusing the time line. The isolationist element leading up to WWII was very strong. A good many service age Americans had already crossed into Canada to enlist there since the US was being too slow to join the fight to suit them. Lindberg was about to deliver a speech at one of his isolationist “America First” rallies but the hall promptly emptied out at the announcement of Pearl Harbor, young men feeling they could not get to the induction centers fast enough. To this point our only involvement had been the Lend-Lease Act in support of the Battle of Britain starting in 1940. Thereafter, the Allied strategy in this new two-front war was “Europe first” and then the Pacific. When the vote to go to war came up in the Congress, there was one lone dissenting vote. It was some woman from ME.

Dean
Dean

None of that contradicts my comment, so what is the timeline confusion. General sentiments do not rule out dissenting attitudes or suggest apathy and a lack of sympathies, and political maneuverings consider all of it. None of the facts suggests that Americans were not overwhelmingly in when the time came so who is the we in your delusional shell? Even those opposing war or sympathetic with the Nazis knew that war was probable, which is the reason they campaigned so loudly against it. My family reported that they and their neighbors were planning for war for a couple of years but generally understood that only a direct attack would make it official. The continuous claim of a slumbering, isolationist delusional American public is the delusion. There is no delusion in avoiding a war unless it involves you directly.

Let’s suspend this discussion. The further you go the less coherent your train of thought becomes.

Dean

It is as coherent as your often repeated illusion of an American delusional shell at the time of Pearl Harbor. I didn’t make that clear since my first comment was more of an addition than focused on the false claims that Americans never expected direct involvement just because they continued living their lives until direct involvement was forced upon them. but you insist on running away from that assertion despite citing facts that contradict it. So what is the source of your knowledge that Americans didn’t know we were at war already or expecting that it would never involve them? That comes from over-dramatic history writers and film makers that think that Pearl Harbor started the war rather than triggering the beginning of the declared war. You and I have only minor differences but if you believe that Americans didn’t already expect war, then that is a big one. Business is America’s business unless we get attacked ,then war become our business, and I know you think that and our predecessors were shocked only by how it started while only politics left us unprepared.

Actually, it was Jeanette Rankin, who was from Montana. She had first been elected in 1916, four years before women were given the right to vote under the 19th Amendment, as Montana was one of the states that gave women that right. A pacifist, she voted against US entry into World War I and was defeated in the next election. She did not return to the House until 1940, just in time to vote against entry into World War II. She was defeated in 1942 and those were the only two terms she served.

Um, check your own timeline and try staying in context with the lead article, FDR’s fascist rhetoric. War doesn’t require a declaration. Your statement has no relevancy unless there had been no prior hostilities and there is nothing on the record regarding FDR”s fondness for Stalin over Hitler. We were providing weapons and strategic support to GB long before Pearl Harbor and the German declaration of war came 4 days later. And that doesn’t even begin to list the aggressive actions against Japan, Germany’s ally. Despite fascist rhetoric, FDR was clearly friendly and more aligned with Stalin but fascist talk is always preferable when manipulating a capitalist economy. .

In criticizing Pamela Geller although she’s the media spearhead in accessing Muhammadism-conspiracy-motivatedly obfuscated news to the public, Donald J. Trump went in the wrong direction.

But why?

Did he want to appease Muhammadism-conspirator Theresa May who banned Pamela Geller from Britain?

Why did he appoint Israel-basher General James Mattis as secretary of defense?

The state of Israel is an ethical power, matter of fact the only one in the middle-east & we have to build upon that & expand with it.

Russia, the U.S., E.U., must stop threatening Israel & stop supporting Islam, stop supporting Iran.

& George W. Bush who proclaimed that Islam would be the religion of peace, it needs to be investigated if the allegations are true, flew out Saudi-official reponsibles (Iranians too?) that may have been complicit in the New York Twin-Tower attacks.

An investigation has to take place.

They say Islam would be really peaceful to fool the people, arm Islam & plant it inside nations like now in Europe, Australia & the U.S.

They don’t expose sadist, racist slaver tyrant, inventor of slavery of Africans, mass-murderer, crucifier, genital mutilationist, clitodirectomist, child-rapist & pederast who ‘kissed’ little boys’ penises & sucked boys’ lips & tongues, theist psychopath, who burned people alive for not praying or not being part of his conspiracy & to extort them, who gouged out eyes & cut off body-parts, gays-killer, Jews-killer, atheists-killer Muhammad, founder of the Islam-conspiracy.

Ban the Islam-conspiracy & democracy, save lives NOW.

We can have a global culture.
But it’s a fail to assume that a global culture has to be superficial & uncondemning about the Islam-Muhammadism-conspiracy & that prosperity can be just achieved if we work nationally in the U.S., Europe, & Australia instead of imperialistically for human rights globally.

We have to make clear that governance is no place for Nazis, violent nationalists or Muhammadists.

We have an agenda. We want the non-Muhammadist conspirator prisinors freed, enslaved Africans freed, little girls forced to sex-slavery freed, Islam banned, Korans confiscated.

Enough of the politicians like Theresa May, Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Angela Merkel, Mark Zuckerberg, Pope Francis who insult & deceive us, arm Islam & plant it into our systems.

We have to make prosecutions & defend our honor & human rights in the long-term.

Where is the love?
Have we lost touch with reality?
We, as people have lost touch with love.

Love is what it should be all about.
From a love & not corrupt perspective we understand the social media posts that condemn the Muhammadism-conspiracy & defend Israel for human rights.

We are divided & made ineffective because of internationalism instead of globalism, because of regional languages instead of English.

We need a global, English language party & TV-channel to develop an effective human rights protecting culture that condemns the Muhammadism-conspiracy & in an imperialist way enacts ethics, that is human rights & ecology, globally.

We reject any forced idealization of sadist, racist slaver tyrant, inventor of slavery of Africans, mass-murderer, crucifier, genital mutilationist, clitodirectomist, child-rapist & pederast who ‘kissed’ little boys’ penises & sucked boys’ lips & tongues, theist psychopath, who burned people alive for not praying, for not being part of his conspiracy & to extort them, who gouged out eyes & cut off body-parts, gays-killer, Jews-killer, atheists-killer Muhammad on people.

The constitution is out of touch with reality & love if it doesn’t condemn sadist, racist slaver tyrant, inventor of slavery of Africans, mass-murderer, crucifier, genital mutilationist, clitodirectomist, child-rapist & pederast who ‘kissed’ little boys’ penises & sucked boys’ lips & tongues, theist psychopath, who burned people alive for not praying, for not being part of his conspiracy & to extort them, who gouged out eyes & cut off body-parts, gays-killer, Jews-killer, atheists-killer Muhammad & doesn’t ban the Islam-conspiracy.

A national constitution that lacks the global big picture about Islam is TREASON.

We need to look globally & protect the people from Islam instead of letting politicians arm the Islam-tyrannies, instead of letting those politicians organize Muhammadism-conspiracy imperialism invasion & letting those politicians force the glorification of sadist, racist slaver tyrant, inventor of slavery of Africans, mass-murderer, crucifier, genital mutilationist, clitodirectomist, child-rapist & pederast who ‘kissed’ little boys’ penises & sucked boys’ lips & tongues, theist psychopath, who burned people alive for not praying, for not being part of his conspiracy & to extort them, who gouged out eyes & cut off body-parts, gays-killer, Jews-killer, atheists-killer Muhammad on children, citizens & the world.

Ban Islam, save lives.
Close the mosques, confiscate the Korans.

Muslims know Islam is not ethical, that’s why it’s only right to them to ban Islam.

People with a mind-mix of no love & consequently uncondemning attitude towards Islam have made us be open to a culture that is open to hate against Africans, Jews, Christians, non-Muslims, atheists, women, children, gays, open to enslavement of Africans & girls, rape, crucifixions, stonings, gouging out of eyes, institutionalized & self-inititated decapitations, torture, amputations, clitodirectomies, circumcision, animal torture, pillaging, robbing, burning people alive, according imperialism & war.

We have been lulled into culture of superficiality, products, bad music, nationalism, admiration for Islam, for Muhammad.

We need to integrate ourselves to Islam & Islamic regions by banning Islam, enacting love & human rights, freeing the imprisoned, the Africans enslaved, girls & women forced to sex-slave-marriage & NOT the other way around.

The pathological tolerance for Islam has become a collective dangerous mind-control movement we know from Muhammadism-conspiracy imperialism regions & the Nazi-Muhammadism-conspiracy of Adolf Hitler & Amin el-Husseini that has to be be stopped NOW.

There are those that claim to fight against Nazis but fight for the Nazis:
History is being scrubbed from Hitler’s partnership with Muhammadism-conspiracy Ottoman empire general, Grandmufti of Jerusalem Amin El-Husseini who led the Nazis & Nazi-Muhammadist troops, his nephew Arafat called him the great leader.

Barack Hussein Obama promotes Muhammadism-conspiracy army Boko Haram, who murder, burn alive 100?’s of 1000’s of people as having “legitimate concerns”

& blocked an Israeli arms helicopter-deal to Nigeria to fight Boko haram before the Muhammadist president.

Furthermore I’ve read that U.S.policies equip & arm Islamic State group in Syria for their crucifixion, terror, lynch & rape-campaign by the hands of Turkey & U.S. & E.U.-armed Saudi Arabia & the U.S.-army.
A thorough investigation has to take place.
Read: Russia destroys most Isis heavy weaponry, US promptly airdrops 50 tons of weapons into Syria:
http://www.mintpressnews.com/russia-destroys-most-isis-heavy-weaponry-u-s-promptly-airdrops-50-tons-of-weapons-into-syria/210655/

“Harass & kill them until Islamic law is the only governance”, says Koran 8:39.

We need a global empire to ban Islam & free the people.

No tolerance for Islam in society, no African slaves enslaved in Mauritania or Saudi Arabia or elsewhere, no children raped, no people harassed by Islamic-police, no Islamic torture, whippings, stonings, clitodirectomies & crucifixions & torturous animal slaughters & no Muhammadism-conspiracy terrorism & imperialism.
Islam feeds on our tolerance, it needs our tolerance, respect, it breathes on our fear.

Our respect for Islam is it’s oxygen.

Without our tolerance the Muhammadism-conspiracy vanishes into oblivion.

We need a global, ethical imperialism to defeat the Muhammadism-conspiracy imperialism & free the people.

The world should be made an English-language protectorate & English optional official language globally.

Ban Islam, the Muhammadism-conspiracy & democracy, save lives & profound human rights globally.

Did you know: There’s slavery today of Africans in Saudi Arabia, Mauritania(25%,50%?of population), new north Sudan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman, Algeria, Lebanon, Qatar (?), Pakistan, UAE, Niger, Libya, Nigeria, Chad, Mali, Somalia & elsewhere inspired by sadist, racist slaver tyrant, inventor of slavery of Africans, mass-murderer, crucifier, genital mutilationist, clitodirectomist, child-rapist & pederast who ‘kissed’ little boys’ penises & sucked boys’ lips & tongues, theist psychopath, who burned people alive for not praying, for not being part of his conspiracy & to extort them, who gouged out eyes & cut off body-parts, gays-killer, Jews-killer, atheists-killer Muhammad who owned Africans as slaves & said that his deity turned Africans black, so their descendants would be slaves to Arabs & Turks (Abeed means African & slave in Arabic,) (Read more about sadist, racist slaver Muhammad at WikiIslam). & IslamicState stated they want to revive enslavement of Africans in America as I’ve read here.Anti-African racists & Muhammadism Out of Africa!
Islam is intolerable. The Koran says: “Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies” (22:19).
Ban Islam, the Muhammadism-conspiracy & democracy & save lives & profound human rights globally.

Trump sometimes shoots from the hip before getting all the facts—hubris.

The latest example of that is his new-found appreciation for the Electoral College. He was making an ass of himself by disparaging it while on the campaign trail. Mercifully, someone grabbed his elbow and explained it to him, because he was praising it loudly at his West Allis rally last night.

He’ll get it right in the end and come out as one of Ms. Geller’s biggest fans. Ultimately.

From the article: “Even Joseph P. Kennedy and Prescott Bush were waist-deep in cash derived from shaking the bloody hand of Hitler, a fact these self-appointed ruling families continue to whisk away from public view at crucial moments of political determination.”

Indeed. As the Kennedys and Bushes were, and still are, flaming internationalists, a reader can hardly avoid applying the same label to FDR – who believed Wilson never went far enough into progressivism.

There are still people alive today who admire Roosevelt for how he led the nation to win WW II. Few however, will acknowledge just how it was he who was a major player to get America into the war in the first place.

Anyone who thinks fascism is right-wing is practicing a very selective view of history. Fascism and communism are both left wing ideologies with dictators in control. Remind me which President agreed to a treaty with a foreign government by bypassing Congress and sent our military into war zones without Congressional approval and declared he would rule by phone and pen and told Russia and Putin that after the election, he would have more flexibility. Clearly as long as there is a (D) after their name cozying up to Putin as A-OK.

Absolutely, it is all a family fight over how to rule the neighborhood. Just two rails of the same railroad line leading to totalitarianism. For the regressive left words have no meaning, they just represent feelings and thrown out as epithets whenever it feels right.

The right/left split between fascism and communism has always been a fraud and accepting that political map has distorted and concealed true allegiances and motivations. The moment that the new liberals embraced either they stopped being liberal and became thoroughly illiberal using social movements for political purposes. The analogy of fascism and communism being two rails of the same line leading to totalitarianism is true. There is nothing new here, the real racist are calling their enemies racist, and ditto for sexist, misogynist, bigot and fascist calling their opposition fascist is old hat. For the illiberal regressive left words have not meaning, it is all feelings.
