Three Twin Cities men were sentenced to prison Tuesday for plotting to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State group, as a federal judge concluded the second day of sentencings in a case that shined a light on terror recruiting in the state.
Farah
Adnan Farah, 20, and Hanad Musse, 21, were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Hamza Ahmed, 21, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for that count and another count of financial aid fraud.

All three were also given at least 20 years of supervised release.
They are among nine men in Minnesota’s large Somali community who prosecutors say were part of a group of friends who inspired and recruited each other to join the militant group. Some of their friends made it to Syria, but the nine who were prosecuted did not.
Their sentencings in Minneapolis come a day after three of their co-defendants were sentenced, including two who cooperated with authorities and were given lighter penalties. Farah, Musse, Ahmed and the other man sentenced Monday all pleaded guilty but did not cooperate with prosecutors.
Three men who went to trial and were convicted on a more serious charge of conspiracy to commit murder outside the U.S. will be sentenced Wednesday. That count carries a possible life sentence, but prosecutors are seeking sentences of 30 or 40 years.

At his hearing, Farah, whose older brother is among those to be sentenced Wednesday, criticized the Somali community for not taking radicalization seriously. But prosecutors said he was shifting blame.
U.S. District Judge Michael Davis addressed the courtroom and said he has no doubt there is a jihadi cell in
Minneapolis. He also addressed Farah’s parents, telling them their children lied.
“I would never want to be in your place, having two sons that are going to go to prison,” Davis said.
During his hearing, Musse apologized for lying to his family and said he committed a serious offense. The judge asked Musse directly whether he was a terrorist, and Musse replied: “I am a terrorist, your honor.”
Musse, Ahmed and two other men took a Greyhound bus from Minneapolis to New York in November 2014 and were stopped by federal agents as they tried to travel overseas from JFK Airport, according to authorities. The men were being watched as part of an ongoing investigation into terror recruiting.
Ahmed told the court on Tuesday that he was grateful he was pulled off the airplane, acknowledging it probably saved his life. He also acknowledged that he has some work to do.
“I want you to understand I am not completely changed,” Ahmed told Davis. “I’m in the process, but nobody changes overnight. I’m trying every day. I want to reach that point.”

This is the result of 100 years of liberalization laws: No more death penalty, which resulted in a drastic rise in violent crime, coddling of criminals to the point of giving them luxuries in a situation where they were supposed to be punished as well as rehabilitated. Instead, we have more crime, less power to control criminals, and the one lawman (Joseph Michael “Joe” Arpaio) who did keep the firm grasp on criminals, with very few repeat offenders, now out of the business because of a liberal apologist placed into his job. The liberals don’t like that the man did the job for which he was hired.

Sheriff Joe gets my vote, too.
Currently in an unneeded legal war with Obama’s justice department for enforcing the laws of Maricopa County and the State of Arizona. When all is said and done, I believe he will be declared not guilty. But time and strength were sacrificed running him through all this, and meanwhile he lost re-election to sheriff. Maricopa County will be less safe – you can bet on it.

It would be cheaper to give them one way tickets to syria, They won’t be coming back, no legal costs, no cost to the taxpayer for anything other than the one way ticket. Funeral expenses to be paid by isis, if there is enough of them left to scrape up.

How do you successfully separate these savages from the very ideology that inspires them? The troubling answer is, you don’t. Those who slip through the dragnet and wind up overseas and survive their ordeal there should simply be refused re-entry to the US. Religion of peace, my ass.
The FDR administration tried using the Act of March 2, 1907 to discourage American citizens from participating on either side in the Spanish Civil War of the 1930s. The Act stated that any US citizen who took up arms for a foreign sovereign would lose their citizenship but the Supreme Court ruled that revocation violated the Eighth Amendment stricture against cruel and unusual punishment.

keith was asked by a TV personality on his sho…..”There has got to be something in your quran that makes muslims do horrible things.” keith shot back by quoting quran 5:32 but omitting 5:33. In the same program, he quoted quran 2:256 a peaceful verse but failed to tell the host and the audience that 2:256 was abrogated to 9:5 which is known as the infamous verse of the sword. keith and the rest of his muslim brothers know that at least 70 suras (out of 114) peaceful suras, were abrogated to very violent verses directed first to the Jews, Christians, hypocrites and other unbelievers. This, they will NOT share with the unbelievers!! ALL muslims including this keith person know that the peaceful canceled verses are left in their quran, only for the purpose of taqiyya whereby muslims (like keith) quote them to gullible non-muslims to lull them into a false sense of security. muslims themselves (including keith) know that such early verses as ‘There is no compulsion in religion’ and ‘If you kill one person it is as if you killed the whole of humanity’ are NULL, VOID and abrogated by the later verses ‘Kill the unbelievers wherever you find then.’

You know, this is why I personally feel any immigration restriction on Muslims would be fairly ineffectual. Most of today’s extremism seems to be largely homegrown; the shooters in San Bernardino and Orlando were legal American citizens, born and raised here…
