In an announcement that shreds the left’s recent condemnation of Stephen Bannon as a racist, white nationalist and hater of the Jewish people, Ron Dermer, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, told reporters he not only welcomed the chance to work with Donald Trump, but also with Bannon, the president-elect’s senior adviser.
Bannon’s been slammed by the media as an anti-Semite, despite the fact he’s employed Jewish people, worked in close alliance with Jewish people, and had many notable and influential Jewish people come out in recent days to express both fondness for and alliance with the former Breitbart executive – and to make clear he’s not anti-Semitic.
Dermer, who holds a key diplomatic spot aimed at advancing the ties between America and the Jewish nation of Israel, seemed to suggest similarly, in his remarks at Trump Tower.
As reported by Townhall:
“‘Israel has no doubt that President-Elect Trump is a true friend of Israel,’ he said after meeting with President-elect Donald Trump. ‘We have no doubt that Vice-President-elect Mike Pence is a true friend of Israel, he was one of Israel’s greatest friends in the Congress, one of the most pro-Israel governors in the country, and we look forward to working with the Trump administration, with all of the members of the Trump administration, including Steve Bannon, and making the US-Israel alliance stronger than ever.'”
