Iran gives war hero victory medals for capture of U.S. sailors

This is yet another indication that Obama’s nuke deal will not bring peace, but has only emboldened an aggressive power that considers itself to be at war with the United States.

DUBAI: Iran’s supreme leader has awarded medals to navy commanders for capturing U.S. sailors who entered Iranian territorial waters this month, Iran’s state media said on Sunday.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has said Iran should remain wary of its arch-enemy the United States even after a landmark accord over Tehran’s nuclear programme, awarded the Fath (Victory) medal to the head of the navy of the Revolutionary Guards and four commanders involved in the seizure of two U.S. Navy boats.

Iran has awarded the Fath medal since 1989 to war heroes, military commanders and politicians, especially those linked to the eight-year Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.

Iran freed the ten U.S. sailors on Jan. 13, a day after detaining them aboard the two U.S. Navy patrol boats in the Gulf, bringing a swift end to an incident that had rattled nerves shortly before the expected implementation of the nuclear accord with world powers.

The Revolutionary Guards said it had determined the patrol boats had entered Iranian territorial waters by mistake….

Have you endorsed a candidate Pamela? If so then who do you believe would best deal with the Iran/Isis problem?

Iran and ISIS are two separate and distinct problems that may or may not have a common solution. For ISIS, committing about 50,000 US troops to wage an all out military assault will solve the problem with minimal loss of life to our forces.

For Iran, the problem is a bit more tricky, but I believe solvable by Regan style diplomacy. Call the Iranians any thing you like, but don’t call them suicidal or completely insane. During the Iranian Hostage Crisis, 60+ American hostages were held from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981 (the day Regan took office). The Iranians saw that Carter was a pushover and unlikely to use military force against them, to back up his polite demands. On the other hand, the Iranians knew that Regan would unleash the US military in its full fury, within a few days of his assuming office, if they did not capitulate,

Carl von Clausewitz wrote in his book On War,
that “War is an extension of diplomacy,” and that diplomatic endeavors
run much more smoothly when there is a military ready, able and willing
to stand behind diplomatic negotiations and enforcement of agreements. It is doubtful that our current president ever read this classic text (required reading at West Point) or listens to anybody that did.

I think that Ted Cruz, Rubio, Trump, and Christie are all capable of using US military might to defeat ISIS, and all are capable of using the the threat of it to stop Iranian aggression.

While all would do an adequate job on this front, I believe that Ted Cruz is the smartest of the candidates and would make the best all-around president. We need a president that can work with Congress to address immigration, and who can address domestic issues.

We need a president that can restore the balance of world power. Obama, by his inaction against the “JV Team,” left a power vacuum in the Middle East that Russia has filled. This is not a good situation, and it will require a diplomatically astute president. Ted Cruz, in my book, fits the bill.

I’m convinced Obama is systematically destabilizing/destroying the USA as he did with the Mideast. Carson would be my choice because he does inquire of the Lord, but I will support the front runner in the end.

Geller has said she supports Cruz but has criticized the media for trashing Trump, and has also said that she will support Trump if nominated.

Does anyone suppose these Iranian sailors will toss their decorations over the fence of the presidential palace in disgust as Kerry did his at the White House after his disastrous stint in Vietnam?
