There was a time when Hollywood’s top tier talent would work in the cause of Americanism and freedom. John Ford, George Stevens, John Huston, William Wyler and Frank Capra all did film work advancing America’s interests in the fight against oppression, suppression and totalitarianism.
That was then. Now we have a Hollywood that works to undermine freedom and individual rights. The low state of film is a reflection of the morally depraved clowns making them. George Clooney wants to help German Chancellor Angela Merkel with the Muslim invasion. Perhaps he should turn Amal over to the mob — get into the spirit of things.
The Berlin Film Festival will invite refugees in Germany to attend film screenings free of charge as part of its focus on immigration and the broader migrant crisis this year.

George Clooney will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday to discuss how Hollywood can play a role in resolving Europe’s refugee crisis, the actor announced Thursday at the Berlin Film Festival.
Clooney’s latest film, the Coen Brothers-directed Hail, Caesar!, will open the 66th annual Berlinale, which will focus on the themes of immigration and mass migration with a slate of at least a dozen films exploring the topic.
“I’m having a meeting with Angela Merkel tomorrow to talk about and ask what messages and what things we [in Hollywood] can do,” Clooney told reporters during the first day of press conferences at the festival.
According to German weekly Der Spiegel, the actor also hopes to meet with refugees while he is in Berlin.
The Hail, Caesar! press conference — also attended by the Coens and stars Channing Tatum, Josh Brolin, and Tilda Swinton — was almost derailed when a reporter asked Clooney what he was doing, aside from making films, to help address Europe’s refugee crisis.
“I spend a lot of time working on these things, and it’s an odd thing to have someone stand up and say, ‘What do you do?,’” Clooney replied. “That’s fine, knock yourself out. I have gone to places that are very dangerous and I work a lot on these things.”
After announcing his upcoming meeting with Merkel, Clooney turned on the reporter: “I’d like to know what you are doing to help the situation?”
Clooney was also asked whether a sequel would ever be made to his 2005 film Syriana, or whether he might produce any more films dealing with refugee crises.
“The unfortunate thing about the film community is we react to situations much more than we lead the way,” the actor replied, according to the New York Daily News. “News stories have to continue to happen and then scripts are written and it takes a couple years before people are actually making films about it.”
This year’s Berlinale will feature a slate of films that examine the impact of refugee crises and mass migration, such as Italian director Gianfranco Rosi’s Fire at Sea, a documentary about the Mediterranean island Lampedusa, which has served as an entry point for many fleeing refugees.
The festival has asked Berlin’s nonprofit refugee aid organizations for volunteers to “accompany a refugee to a screening” free of charge. The festival will also host refugee-staffed food trucks at its Berlinale Street Food Market and donation drives at its gala events that will benefit organizations working to integrate refugees into German society.
Three-time Oscar-winner Meryl Streep will head the festival’s jury, which will award one film the top Golden Bear prize and seven others the Silver Bear acting and technical achievement prizes.
The Berlin Film Festival runs through February 21.

What a douchebag! This is so pathetic how everyone takes advantage of this migrant crisis and tries to show the world what a good person s/he is. If he’s so into meeting with “refugees”, why doesn’t he go to Turkey, Lebanon or Syria? Money shouldn’t be an issue for him. I definitively will never watch any his movies again.

In practice it means that a single person whose children have left home and lives in a house with at least one spare bedroom must pay extra to the Council or get out into a one bed house or flat (these are in very short supply). These are to make room for muslim families, as you say. Plenty of instances of a muslim with four wives (illegal but OK if marriage took place abroad), each wife living in her own house, each wife with several children. Muslim man not working. ALL on state benefits and everything paid by the taxpayer.

I mean, please do not get me wrong, as a US citizen, I have nothing but respect for all men, women and children who truly want to become a US citizen and I truly appreciate the effort that comes with that choice. Yes, talent is limited and should be limited to acting, that is all. My taste in entertainment is questionable but what is offered these days? Nobody today holds a candle to Stewart portraying ‘Ted Williams’ in Strategic Air Command, or Cooper in Sgt. York. OK agreed with many more examples, although American Sniper is and Clint Eastwood is legendary. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou just one of my favorites and I love bluegrass, and don’t laugh if I liked batman and robin, other than that I don’t really know his movies, and have never cared. My view of clueless looney as an ‘ambassador’ is in the dirt and because his ideology and politics but I never suspected otherwise, just confirmed suspicions. Inconsequential person and counterproductive efforts in Germany.

If these ‘celebrities’ want to force their do gooder wishes on the masses by ‘helping the refugees’, they should be forced to do it at grass roots level, by actually hands on helping these refugees.
I am sick of hearing these celebrities claiming to be supporting these poor down trodden iphone 5s owning refugees by pilling political pressure on foreign governments, we have seen first hand that the results of that helps absolutely nobody, not the locals at grass roots actually having to deal with these people, not the genuine refugees who are in the minority I might ad who are being over crowded into housing with criminal male illegal immigrants whose time in the country is not being managed in the slightest, and these celebrities actions are allowing these illegal male criminals to act out with impunity.

I wondered why so many movies centered around gay people in the last decade. Now a lot of movies are about transgendered people. I guess there’s going to be a lot of refugee movies.
