Third man in the Garland jihad attack could go free

“The defense is trying to get the evidence against the Phoenix man thrown out. Defense Attorney Daniel Maynard argued Kareem was under distress from his diabetes when he gave two voluntary interviews to FBI agents.” So apparently Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem admitted his role in this jihad mass murder plot, but now he wants to get his statements thrown out on a technicality.

The court should not allow this man to go free. The technical difficulties surrounding his statement do not mitigate the fact that he was plotting the murder of hundreds of people in the cause of Islam and jihad.

“Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem update: Suspected terrorist in Federal Court hoping to get released,” by MaryEllen Resendez, ABC15.com, November 24, 2015:

PHOENIX – A suspected terrorist was in Federal Court Tuesday hoping to get released.

Abdul Kareem is accused of helping Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi plan the terrorist attack at an anti- Mohammed event in Garland, Texas.

The defense is trying to get the evidence against the Phoenix man thrown out.

Defense Attorney Daniel Maynard argued Kareem was under distress from his diabetes when he gave two voluntary interviews to FBI agents.

One special agent testified Kareem appeared nervous and at one point did ask for an ambulance.

But a second FBI agent testified he was calm, not sweating and that cookies and treats were provided in case he needed them because he was diabetic.

[the_ad id=”72852″]

Maynard also wants evidence found on his client’s computer thrown out based on the fact it was illegally collected from a search warrant aimed to collect evidence against a roommate, not Kareem.

Federal Court Judge Susan Bolton moved the January trial to February 16 in order to give time for the legal wrangling and her ruling.

An earlier report has other interesting details:

“Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem update: Phoenix terror suspect could go free,” by Navideh Forghani, ABC15.com, October 5, 2015 (thanks to Larry):

PHOENIX – The man accused of helping plan an attack on a provocative Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest that ended with two Phoenix men being killed, might get his freedom back.

Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem is accused of hosting the gunmen at his home beginning in January and providing the guns used in the May 3 shooting in Garland, Texas.

Kareem could be a free man if a federal judge rules in favor of his attorney’s motion to get his case dismissed. The 12-page motion, filed September 28, says errors were made by federal agents during their investigation.

Kareem’s attorney Daniel Maynard also details a key piece of evidence that is missing from the case.

Kareem became a top suspect immediately after the shooting. Federal documents reveal, he was already on their radar after they discovered files on his computer during an “unrelated” search warrant.

Kareem was interviewed at FBI headquarters two days after the shooting incident.

According to court documents, the feds say “Malik voluntarily provided information.”

His attorney says the only evidence he got from the feds about that interview was a four page summary, with no direct quotes from his client. The summary only offered the agent’s impression of Kareem’s interview. And, the summary was written the next day.

In addition, the interview wasn’t recorded, which goes against a 2014 policy that requires all interviews with agents be recorded.

The FBI claimed it had technical difficulties, but the motion also reveals agents had no issues recording several other interviews.

Recorded interviews with a confidential informant were conducted at the informant’s house. Another witness interview was also recorded at the witness’s home. And other recorded interviews were conducted with three people at a juvenile detention facility. And, agents were able to record another interview that was held in the desert.

Yet for some reason, there were difficulties recording Kareem’s interview at FBI headquarters.

The motion also questions whether Kareem was made aware of his Miranda Rights and that he was in legal custody.

Maynard also states his client suffers from diabetes which causes him to sometimes be confused, which brings into question if his client’s statement was voluntary.

Maynard is asking the judge to dismiss the case, or at least have the statement Kareem gave the feds thrown out….

Can’t we just indict and prosecute Islam as inherently evil, and a perpetual incitement of violence?

That has been my train of thought for a while now. I was considering charging the koran and hadith to court for hate speech. The texts are the sources of islamic fascism hatred. Evidences abounds in favor of my case.

One has to wonder if the FBI is really this incompetent or if they are leaving terror suspects a way out on purpose. If their mishandling of these cases in so many instances amounts to giving the people bread and circuses.

Good thing he was only aiding and abetting the murder of American citizens and not just smoking some weeds, because apparently murder for the cause of Islam is ok by the people in charge of safety and security but smoking a joint would have put him in jail for a while,.
what a sick sad world some people want everyone to have to live in :/

Yes. muslims take many of our things and contort the meaning.
Muslims did not invent cannabis, although in your islamic masters have told you so.

Cannabis has been used for thousands of years before islam, as a medicine all over the globe.

he is comparing the investigation, prosecution and sentencing of people with minute amounts of pot compared to that for people who plot to kill.
One is a persons personal choice for themselves.
The other takes away all and everything person was, is and would become.

Our conversation has reached its dead end. Keep responding all you want, I’ll talk to people who want to engage in the mosh pit of ideas, not with people who bring in a screwdriver to stab people with.

Islam, By Law, Is Prohibited From U.S. Immigration
“The Immigration and Nationality Act passed June 27, 1952 revised the laws relating to immigration, naturalization, and nationality for the United States. Islamic immigration to the US would be prohibited under this law because the Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam, which is antithetical to the US government, the Constitution, and to the Republic. All Muslims who attest that the Koran is their life’s guiding principal subscribe to submission to Islam and its form of government. Now the political correct crowd would say that Islamists cannot be prohibited from entering the US because Islam is a religion. Whether it is a religion is immaterial because the law states that Aliens who are affiliated with any “organization” that advocates the overthrow of our government are prohibited.

Pamela I have Diabetes what’s the connection to admitting to ssomething under duress. I wouldn’t. It would take a half wit to do that and people may want to label this goon; but he’s more clever than his apologists. This country is out of control ang begging for terror. Those of us who still maintain our sanity don’t want to see our fellow Americans maimed and killed with a barbaric ideology replacing the greatest governance construct created by man, inspired by G-d
