Pathetic Dearborn rally protests ISIS, only handful of Muslims show up

86

Out of a possible 30,000 to 40,000 Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan, a measly 80 showed up to protest the Islamic State. That speaks volumes.

Of course, the media widely reported on it, because it is as rare as the tooth fairy and the unicorn. Millions who attended tea party protests never got such coverage. Muslims were quoted extensively — urging the US to take in all the Muslim migrants from jihad nations. Scroll for the long, glowing report from the notoriously pro-Islamic Detroit Free Press. They got a quote from anyone and everyone who repeated the mantra, “the Islamic State is not Islamic.”

They all played the victim card, adding a twist, “we are the victims twice — by Islamophobia and ISIS.” They have no morals, it’s incredible. Never do they visit the Islamic texts and teachings behind this unspeakable violence and slaughter.

Story continues below advertisement

One of the Muslims spun this, “We’re looking at a force that is, maybe, 30,000 active ISIS members out of a worldwide population of about 1.6 billion Muslims.” Really? What about al Qaeda? Boko Haram? Hamas?  Hezb’Allah? Al-Shabaab? The Muslim Brotherhood? Or any of these other designated Islamic terrorist organizations: Abdullah Azzam Shaheed, Brigade, Abu Nidal Organization, Abu Sayyaf, al-Aqsa Foundation, al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, Al-Badr, al-Gama’a al-Islamiyya, Al Ghurabaa, al-Haramain Foundation, Al-Itihaad al-Islamiya, al-Qaeda in Iraq, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, Al-Shabaab, Takfir wal-Hijra, Al-Umar-Mujahideen, Ansar al-Islam, Jamaat Ansar al-Sunna, Ansar Dine, Ansaru, Armed Islamic Group of Algeria, Army of Islam, Osbat al-Ansar, Caucasus Emirate, Deendar Anjuman, Dukhtaran-e-Millat, East Turkestan Islamic Movement, East Turkestan Liberation Organization, Egyptian Islamic Jihad, El Kaide Terör Örgütü Türkiye Yapılanması, Great Eastern Islamic Raiders’ Front, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Haqqani network, Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami, Harkat-al-Jihad al-Islami in Bangladesh, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Harakat-Ul-Mujahideen/Alami, Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin, Hezbollah Military Wing, Hezbollah External Security Organisation, Hilafet Devleti, Hizb ut-Tahrir, Hizbul Mujahideen, Hofstad Network, Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, Indian Mujahideen, Aden-Abyan Islamic Army, Islamic Jihad – Jamaat Mujahideen, Islamic Jihad Union, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Jabhat al-Nusra, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Jamaat Ul-Furquan Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, Jamiat al-Islah al-Idzhtimai, Jamiat ul-Ansar, Jamiat-e Islami, Jemaah Islamiyah, Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid, Jund al-Sham, Jundallah, Kata’ib Hezbollah, Khalistan Commando Force, Khalistan Zindabad Force, Khuddam ul-Islam, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group, Muslim Brotherhood, Palestine Liberation Front, Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, People’s Congress of Ichkeria and Dagestan, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage, Stichting Al Aqsa, Students Islamic Movement of India, Supreme Military Majlis ul-Shura of the United Mujahideen Forces of Caucasus, Taliban, Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, United Liberation Front of Assam, World Uygur Youth Congress…?

While thousands shopped Black Friday bargains a half-mile away at Fairlane Town Center, about 100 demonstrators stood in the rain outside Dearborn’s Henry Ford Centennial Library to protest Muslim terrorism overseas.

Calling themselves Dearborn Muslims Against Terrorism on placards they handed out, leaders of the event focused their opposition on the militant ISIS forces waging civil wars in Syria and Iraq.

“If you want to know about ISIS, they have no god, no faith, no morality – they are savages,” Mustapha Mourtada, 28, of Dearborn shouted to the crowd through a bull horn. Mourtada, an automotive engineering manager, led chants of “What do we want? ISIS out! When do we want it? Now!”

At a time when anti-Muslim attitudes are said to be running high in Europe – and when some Republican candidates for president of the U.S. have called for increased security against Muslims, and even a registry of Muslims living here – protest leaders said it was urgent that southeast Michigan’s Muslims show their opposition to terror in the name of Islam.

Members of the group said most Muslims around the world want peace, and they said that anti-Islamic feelings — what they called Islamophobia — had been stirred anew by recent events, including the downing of a Russian airliner claimed by militants; ISIS victories against U.S.-trained Iraqi troops, and terrorist bombings in Paris as well as at a hotel for tourists in Mali.

Wearing a black turban, Ahmed Qazwini, who called himself a Muslim scholar but not an ordained cleric such as an imam, told the crowd that Islam had been hijacked by ISIS and that “most of the media keeps concentrating on them,” causing a rise in anti-Muslim attitudes.

“I ask the Almighty to help us fight these terrorists, these extremists,” and to “help us in uniting as Muslims,” he said, adding: “Unfortunately, we have people. … claiming (that) all Muslims are terrorists. This is wrong. We have to fight the propaganda.”

Speakers said the U.S. should allow the immigration of Syrian refugees, a point of controversy that erupted after the bombings this month in Paris. One woman held a sign saying that 750,000 refugees from Syria deserved sympathy and safety, although no mention was made of Gov. Rick Snyder’s request, and seconded by nearly two dozen other governors, to block immigration and resettlement of refugees until each newcomer can be given extra security scrutiny by federal authorities.

On Sunday, civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson has said, he plans to hold a national town hall on the Syrian refugee crisis at a Lebanese American Heritage Club in Dearborn.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims in the world do not support the aims of ISIS, said Saeed Khan, 48, of Rochester Hills, a lecturer in Islamic studies at Wayne State University.

” We’re looking at a force that is, maybe, 30,000 active ISIS members out of a worldwide population of about 1.6 billion Muslims,” Khan said. ISIS is concentrated in Syria and Iraq, “but recently there have been what you might call franchises of ISIS,” operating in several nations of sub-Saharan Africa, including Mali, Nigeria, East Africa, Kenya and Uganda, he said.

Standing under a small tent erected against the light rain, one family from Dearborn lamented the loss of relatives from a terrorist’s bomb in the Middle East in 2013. Four relatives died when a suicide bomber detonated his deadly belt outside a bakery in Beirut, Lebanon, they said.

“As we arrived in Beirut for vacation, this bomb went off and ruined our trip. This bomber blew up a very crowded neighborhood and four of them were our aunt and her husband and two little girls,” said Century 21 Realtor Rumzi Chammout, 47, of Dearborn.

“So, we are the victims twice — by Islamophobia and ISIS,” Chammout said.

While I’m happy that some Muslims are standing up to speak against Muslim terrorism, as a majority, they are not. And yes, THAT speaks volumes. Silence = complicity. Until alleged “moderate” Muslims stand up, en masse, and denounce their terrorist counterparts, demand an overhaul of their ideology and expunge the texts of the violence, they will NEVER be accepted anywhere in the world. NEVER. I look at every single Muslim with suspicion. None are exempt. As I’ve always said, they cloak themselves in a thin veneer of civility. And at the least provocation, they throw off that cloak to expose themselves for what they are – murdering savages.

Couldn’t agree with you more. the key word used in the commentary above by a so-called “peaceful” Islamic believer is “hijacked.” Unfortunately, as you noted, the so-called peaceful Islamic believers have done almost nothing about revolting against this so-called “hijacking” of their so-called belief system. Until those who claim to be and are actually peaceful stand up and significantly act out against the Jihadic (world domination) view of their belief system, I will not trust these people, even here in the states. Their belief system accepts only their corrupt and unequal rule of law (Sharia). Their belief system refuses to accept all of us non-believers or believers of other religions. They represent a culture which has as their underlying expectation a prohibited revolutionary concept which will result in the overthrow of our Constitution and Government as we know it, and that type of belief system is prohibited from coming here by our own immigration laws, I see no reason to accept their protestations. Therefore we have a legal basis for reusing immigration of a group that is hostile to everything American.

I still want to see a national debate between radical Muslims and so called “moderate Muslim” I want to hear “moderate Muslims’ denounce the killing of all non believers if they don’t convert. I want to hear them denounce jihad and justify by the Quran why they can pick and choose what they want to follow. i want them to explain why Islam should never live by sharia law! I want them to explain why women are treated as less than animals!! I want a national discussion with Christians and Muslims asking each other questions and I want to hear moderate Muslims state publicly that they have not been taught by the Quran to hate and kill jews!!! I want to walk
into a Muslim community and talk to their children and ask them what the Quran is teaching them without the interference of Muslim parents!

The reason it will never happen is a moderate mooslime is considered apostate and will be executed under sharia law. Islam is to follow the words of allah (satan) and to live by the teachings and experiences of their profit muhumpig. To not approve of jihad or participate during a caliphate makes the peaceful mooslime kafur. The so called moderate mooslime cleric can tell you until he is blue in the face about the beauty and peace of islam and will never change the fact that only one interpretation is allowed and forbidding the call to war and violence that is the hadith is simply not allowed. In other words islam may not be changed in any way as to them islam is the final word of god’s (satans).

Why do you choose to believe that violence is the true and only interpretation of Islam when more than 99% of Muslims tell you that it is not?

You use a lot of words that I’m sure you don’t know the meaning of. Jihad? Out of curiosity, brother, what do you think that means?

Guitarzan

struggle…a war or struggle against unbelievers. There is only one interpretation of islam in Arabic. You can not just pretend or ignore the fact that the haddith and many versus in the quran are designed to encourage and incite violence. If YOU do not follow the words of muhamaad you are an apostate and it is perfectly fine under sharia to kill you at the hands of a more dedicated follower. That is why daesh kills more muslims than any other religion. In other words you are your own enemy. Don’t bother lying about the other 99% instead tell me where it says to not follow muhamaad or where his surrah is not followed.

Zei Baz

Despite what the media says, “jihad” actually means the inner struggle of a Muslim against sin. Not holy war, not battle against disbelievers.

There is not a single interpretation of Islam in Arabic. There is a single translation. They’re two completely different things. Which verse okays the killing of an apostate without reason? You can’t rely on Hadith to convey your points; different schools of thought use different hadiths and each one must be deemed authentic by Islamic scholars.

I’m not lying; I’m not even trying to lie. It’s just crazy to me that to you, I’m either a terrorist or not a real Muslim. Why do you give any credibility to Daesh? How can you trust the interpretation of a group which kills its “own” people? I don’t understand.

We can disagree. I’m not calling you an infidel, nor did I imply that you haven’t made contact with Muslims. I also never once said that you get information from the press.
I was just interested in having a conversation with a person who holds a different opinion. It isn’t polite or appropriate to call people idiots; insults usually constitute lack of solid argument. If you can’t make your point without degrading someone, maybe you should reconsider your point.

I will not reconsider my point as it is accurate unlike the premise that 99% of muslims follow a peaceful interpretation. If that were true that would make you cowards as you could destroy islamic terrorism in a day. Instead most are either silent or supportive. If you are a muslim and regardless of your beliefs will never cause another person harm I personally will not have a problem with you. I would though question your reasoning for following a system of murder, pedophilia, rape, torture, dismemberment and slavery. Every single Christian convert from islam in my church echoes the same sentiment especially the young woman with half a face.

Maybe the fact that the Qur’an and Hadiths have so much threatening language concerns people and the fact that muslims obviously don’t agree makes it that much more worrisome. We are supposed to wait around until some foreign religion makes up it’s mind about forcing itself on us? How about sharing and then respecting peoples’ right to chose or (most likely) chose not. I don’t know if it’s ever occurred to you, but to read that islam is the only true religion and that people who don’t believe should be subjugated, extorted, or killed is arrogant and very offensive. Even if it was included for no apparent reason (scoff). If I have any doubts, I watch the news and see only nastiness from muslim nations to confirm what the Qur’an means about what it says. Where is this moderate, peace loving Qur’an we keep hearing about. And for sure, 99% of muslims are not peace loving. There are 500 radical factions and ISIS alone represents 2%. Your a peaceful guy, great, welcome but the fact is, Islam seems nothing like peace ie 400 pilgrams got trampled to death because their peace loving brothers wanted front row for pilgrimage. Islam is not very attractive. Don’t expect people to trust that you are devoted to this religion that is seeped in hate language but somehow manage to ignore that hate. Jihad means 3 things one of which is physical warfare. BSing about it won’t gain any trust.

Excellent points. There are 500 radical islamic factions. That’s not a drop in the bucket. In my opinion, having read the Qur’an and hadiths, islam is a radical terrorist group. Its not moral, it’s not progressive, and it has done nothing to help the world. Protest all, they want, ISIS is applying islam exactly as instructed and I have yet to see this moderate Qur’an I keep hearing about. Seeing that muslims don’t understand that people are offended by language that calls for their murder, subjugation, and extortion, and that muslims can’t see through the obviously flawed logic in all of their doctrine makes me believe they are all morons. I don’t see a bunch of radical Christians running around cutting people’s heads off. And I got news for you, the Jews in Israel tried to live with muslims in harmony and shared prosperity. The Jews in Israel bought the unused land they farmmed after being driven out of Egypt and Syria by savage muslims and the muslims were so pathetic that their jealousy of the Jews made them insane, and once again the muslims tried to annhilate them. I’m not against any religion but islam. I stand firmly and proudly against wretchedness.

Folks: Those interested in stopping the Muslim Brotherhood go to Facebook and look at the “Terrorist Designation Act 2015” page and get involved!

Our goal is to gain supports willing to help push our USELESS House and Senate members to place national security back above Cultural Marxism i.e. political correctness and hold hearings on Sen. Cruz’s (R-Texas) bill (S. 2230) “Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act of 2015” and the House version filed by Rep. Diaz-Balart (R-Florida) (H.R.3892).

In other words, 99.75% of the moslems didn’t bother to show up because they are either they fully supporting the Islamic State barbarians, or at least, sympathize with their ’causes’

In other words, in Dearborn MI alone the Islamic State can count on at least 40K of willing martyrs going out to kill innocent Americans, in the name of serving ‘allah’

ISIS members are mostly educated idiots and know exactly what the qur-an teaches and they apply it to the letter.

I was born and raised in Livonia, outside of Detroit, and worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn corporate for 8 years after I graduated from Cornell.

Dearborn is divided into west Dearborn (mostly white auto execs, clean neighborhoods, nice houses, home of Ford Motor Co.) and east Dearborn (east of Southfield Freeway), which is ghetto and probably 95% Muslim.

Many women in east Dearborn cover up their faces and you can’t even see their eyes. Many of the Muslim men hang out at bars and drink like fishes, and they’ll tell you not to tell anybody you saw ’em there. You’ll never see a Muslim woman at a bar there.

Having the highest per-capita Muslim population in the world, I’m surprised we haven’t been hit yet here in Detroit. But I believe the Muslims want the big markets like NYC and LA, to get more media attention.

East Dearborn isn’t ghetto, and your statistic is completely inaccurate. Nice try, though. Some Muslim women in east Dearborn cover up their faces, yeah, but not the majority; not even near majority. Not seeing a Muslim woman at a bar? Not sure what statement you’re trying to suggest there, but practicing sobriety is not exclusive to Muslim women. As for the last paragraph, I haven’t the slightest clue how to respond to such ignorance.

After the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris the BBC took a survey of Muslim opinion in the UK in which 27% of the Muslim population thought the murderers had a “good point”.

Of course the Muslims in Dearborn do not want violence; they prefer to take over the country using peaceful means by infiltrating government and schools and using U.S. law to get what they want. ISIS is upsetting their apple cart by showing us what Islam truly is. By the way, did CAIR lose the 501 3(c) when they came out in support of a presidential candidate? I doubt it.

The Myth of the moderate Muslim. Well we can give credit to this minority when coming out in public against jihadism is tantamount to social ostracism or worse, being accused of being un Islamic which is one step from apostasy and another from probable murder. In Muslim communities everybody knows who you are and where you live, it is like belonging to a club. It is like saying something anti Nazi in Nazi Germany. BTW one politician has already said that Germans who are against migration should leave Germany!!

There are NO moderate Muslims…there is NO “almost DEAD” Black Power in America….synonymous with Islam world wide.

Same tact, same lies….Shuck and Jive is the Chicago way….evolved first from Islam…passed on to the Mafia…..picked up by Alinsky who promoted it via his Chicago ghetto affilliates

The Black Avenger, Ken Hamlin, started his fine talk shows with, “What is a good muslim”?
He made his answer clear and as a daily listener I never
hear a rational answer from Ken’s wide audience.

There are none.

Assuming they are really against ISIS, that doesn’t means they are against terror and barbarism.
Muslims against ISIS is not the same as non muslims against ISIS.
Terror groups such as al Qaeda, al Nusra Front, Hizbullah, All Syiah militias, and countless militant forces in the Iraq and Syria are also against ISIS. So, as long as they believe in Sharia, they are one of them.

The Quran is the Muslim Terrorist Manual and Muhammad is the First Muslim Terrorist that they follow. Leave Islam and we might believe you.

Obama’s world wide caliphate …In plain sight….Media’s complicity, citizen’s indifference to the sensibilities of the obvious….

It’s TIME….to call it what IT is….in plain view.

The vast majority of Moslems, including those in the USA, support jihadis.

This is how Obama is distracting Americans from the mortal
danger being posed by Islam and Communism that’s facing the world

It was a sham protest organized by CAIR and the MSM to attempt to drum up support for bringing in known isis terrorists.

While you’re completely correct that this protest was pathetic, you’re wrong if you’re suggesting that American Muslims don’t denounce ISIS. Don’t assume that because the streets weren’t flooded with Muslims angry at the defamation of their religion and reputations, we don’t have passion for such topics. The rally was very ill-advertised. Not many people knew of it. Also, it conflicted with Friday prayer, as both were being held at the same time. The flyer was shared on a local Instagram page with a considerable base of followers just a half hour before the actual rally was scheduled to begin.

But to elaborate on this just a bit more, I (as an American Muslim) am absolutely not obligated to tell you sorry for the disgusting and atrocious acts that stem from the actions of terrorist groups whom claim to share my religion. That is senseless. It is known that such acts of violence are not endorsed nor condoned by Islam, nor any other religion. I do not have to apologize for something that I have nothing to do with. And you are not at liberty to demand it from me.

This rally was to show our consolidation as Muslims; however, it shed light on the debasement of Muslims in America. It was put forward by the Muslim community so they can be heard by bigots who continue to walk around with their hands over their ears. It was yet another attempt to consolidate with fellow Americans who refuse to see anything besides what is reported against us.

I’m not going to play the victim card because I’m not the victim. But I’ll tell you who the real victim is; it’s the society that you destroy with cheap and unwarranted articles like this. It’s the good Americans who never get to see the other side of the story because of unsubstantiated claims that you repute. You insinuate fear. You insinuate that there is a lack of compassion on our end (as Muslim Americans). And just like the majority of journalists here in America, you have stripped journalism of valor through your repression of the duality of every story.

So, Pamela, if you have to withhold information to come up with a (un)creative title, just remember, it reflects upon your abilities as a writer and not at all upon the empathy of the Muslim American community. Don’t get it confused.

The city of Raqqa in Syria, is headquarters of ISIS.
The fight against ISIS is not so much western nations fighting a ‘gang’ of terrorists but, an established ‘state’ with banks, an economy, schools, water, electricity……etc. all under the Caliphate.
The issue isn’t whether ISIS is Islam. Or whether muslims support ISIS.

THE ISSUE IS that all practicing muslims DO support belonging to a “Caliphate” which is what ISIS has established and is growing.
Muslims are also growing communities in America (such as Dearborn, Michigan) and will, no doubt, fight to become a part of the Caliphate in Raqqa, under their rule and applying Shari’a law.

Well, it almost sounds like progress, except… They shamelessly use a tragedy to call for more fascist, intolerant, backwards muzzie buddies to come to the land of all us evil, promiscuous, freedom loving devil’s and force us to change for our own good. I’m calling for more overt sexuality, more dogs and more women in power positions. Whatever offends them enough to make them leave. Like I said, it’s almost progress. Usually they come out in social media proclaiming angrily that every time one of the radical peace lovers kill someone for no reason because they are following the exemplary behavior of their sociopathic profit, people say mean stuff about them. Boo hoo. Yeah, it’s because your moral guide books call for murder and domination. Makes me want to say – look, I’m sorry but it’s just not working out, maybe the KKK will accept you.

Only a hundred people, mostly Muslims, showed up to protest ISIS. Where were the Christians? Where were you? Were you out there protesting extremist violence? You were probably on a comment thread anonymously attacking 22% of the world’s population like the misinformed cowards you are.
