CAIRO: A militant group affiliated to ISIS in Egypt claimed responsibility for the downing of a Russian passenger plane that crashed in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula on Saturday, the group said in a statement circulated by supporters on Twitter.

A Russian jet crashed in Egypt could have been downed by ISIS Heartbreaking photographs show the mangled wreckage of the doomed airliner and the personal possessions of its passengers strewn across the desert floor.Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail visited the scene this afternoon, at one point being shown the plane’s black box recorder by rescue teams.Earlier today Terror Monitor, an online terrorist monitoring organisation, said it had received a statement from Islamic State militants claiming responsibility for the attack.The group, which watches terrorist groups around the world, tweeted an image of the Arabic statement and wrote: “#IslamicState (#ISIS) terror group claims downing of Russian aircraft in #Sinai.”The unverified statement, written in Arabic, says the flight crash was NOT a technical fault, as reported by security sources.It goes on to say that the attack was “in response to Russian airstrikes that killed hundreds of Muslims on Syrian land”. … Today two international airlines announced they will now reroute their flights to avoid flying over the Sinai area in light of the claims.German company Lufthansa and Air France both said they will actively blacklist the area until a clear explanation is provided of what caused the crash.A spokesman for the Lufthansa said: “We took the decision to avoid the area because the situation and the reasons for the crash were not clear.”The carrier is the owner of budget airline Germanwings, which was at the centre of one of the worst tragedies in aviation history when crazed pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed flight 4U9525 into the Alps in March this year.

Last month Moscow launched a bombing campaign against the twisted terror group, which controls vast swathes of Syria and has forced thousands of people to flee the country.Vladimir Putin’s bid to wipe out ISIS has been so successful that almost a million Syrians are elected to return to their homeland.The translated statement read: “The fighters of the Islamic State were able to down a Russian plane over Sinai province that was carrying over 220 Russian crusaders.”They were all killed, thanks be to God.”News agency AFP has also reported ISIS has claimed responsiblity for the downing of the Russian plane.The agency reported the statement also read: “The soldiers of the caliphate succeeded in bringing down a Russian plane in Sinai.”Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on her Facebook page that Russian Embassy personnel in Egypt are working to clarify the situation.

The Russian plane was flying from the popular Egyptian holiday resort of Sharm El-Sheikh to the Russian city of St Petersburg.All 224 people onboard the aircraft are believed to be dead.More than 150 bodies, including five children, have already been pulled from the wreckage.There were 217 passengers, including 17 children on the flight.There were also 138 women and 62 men. Three were Ukrainian with the rest Russian.The jet, operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia, also known as MetroJet, was an Airbus A-321 and is said to have fallen vertically, which led it it bursting into flames.

A statement from the prime minister’s office said PM Sherif Ismail had formed a cabinet level crisis committee to deal with the crash.Russia’s prime minister Dmitry Medvedev said he was “deeply shocked”.He tweeted: “I am deeply shocked by the plane crash in the Sinai Peninsula. The tragedy will be thoroughly investigated, the families will receive aid.”Russia’s top Investigative Committee has launched a case against airline Kogalymavia under an article regulating “violation of rules of flights and preparations for them”.Initial reports suggested contact had been made with the passenger plane after it went missing but later Egyptian authorities confirmed the tragic news.Russian news sources said the captain reported technical faults soon after leaving Sharm el-Sheikh and asked for a route change.

Latest reports suggest the fight 7K9268 went off radar 23 minutes after taking off from Sharm el-Sheikh at 5.51am.Mike Vivian, former head of flight operations at the CAA warned it’s a “popular route with Britons”.He said: “A321 is a very good aircraft and it has a good safety record.”I would be surprised if the aircraft was a factor. It is a small airline and it is difficult to know who the operator was as there are multiple. It looks as if the airline flies only domestic routes in Russia but does go down to Turkey and Egypt.”The plane operator Kogalymavia is also known as MetroJet.

they could have 1 million Stingers and it wouldn’t matter, Stingers can’t shoot down aircraft at 30,000ft, no man-portable SAM can, only large and very sophisticated vehicle mounted SAMs have the ability to reach that altitude, and the only group with them in the Sinai is the Egyptian Army

The pilot radioed that the plane had “technical difficulties” and had to land at the nearest airport. ISIS is claiming they “downed” a Russian airliner with 220 “crusaders” aboard.
There is no conflict between the two pieces of the story. ISIS didn’t say they shot down the plane, only that they “downed” the plane, possibly with an onboard bomb. The pilot would have experienced “technical difficulties” before realizing a bomb was the cause.

IF,…and that’s a whopper of an IF, it was a missile,…you are talking Hawk Missile or SA-11 type missile systems. A Stinger might hit something up to about 12,500 ft. Haven’t seen any evidence of ISIS using jet aircraft. I’m not ruling it out, but Ive seen no evidence of it. Kaddaffi Duck’s Air Force was a flying museum. Even captured Iraqi Air Force Aircraft could have been used, but 9 times out of 10, they can’t maintain anything, so it falls into disrepair and is rendered useless. The images reek of mocked up faked video footage,…smoke doesn’t billow black at 500 mph like that,…it streaks. You’re talking about a fighter aircraft, chasing an Airliner, over Egyptian air space without the Egyptians noticing or reacting. It just does not pass the smell test.

MANPADS is an shoulder launched system and no existing system can shoot down a plane at 30,000ft. Only a dedicated SAM system can do that and ISIS in Egypt don’t have anything that advanced.

My platform is very simple actually and more common sense. When I ran for State Senate I detailed a solution to the health care crisis for our state to serve all 9 million people, insured or not, without an expansion of government. It was cost-effective, and summarized in one page. This is the result of three decades of working with the insurance, medical and other industries. By taking the best practices of product development and applying them to an arcane service/product like medical care integrated with the complex world of insurance we can solve the issues but only with a balance of compromise on all sides. The consumer wins in that you get your doctor/patient relationship back with all medical decisions made by you and your physician. The insurers win in that the reduction of paperwork, compliance and threats (mostly govt regulation) are removed. Rates will drop from sheer competition and lower malpractice costs. Allowing all companies to compete in all states and REMOVING the required Fertility and Mental health forced components of EVERY plan reduces cost by 40% automatically. Imagine paying $6k per year instead of $12k for the same insurance. Those who need special riders get them much like you or I buy for computers, jewelry or other excess items for home insurance. ALL policies would cover catastrophic items 100% so there is no worry. Doctors would run fewer tests because of a restructuring of the legal system and ability to third parties to attack them. Right now over half of all care is defensive in nature. Meaning, providers must run expensive tests to avoid getting sued for not imagining to run the tests, even when proven unnecessary. And by having a permanent portability and preventative portion at 100% people have the incentive to use care wisely and stop serious illness before it becomes serious. The reason healthcare is so out of control has nothing to do with insurance, or the providers and or the consumers – it is completely the fault of the Federal Government attempting to manage everyone’s health care. Prior to Obamacare the government had layers of compliance which were pretty bad and difficult to manage. Small practices could not comply or hire enough people to navigate the system. NOW, with 100 times more codes, (over 150,000) no one can navigate it. That is why we are losing over 40,000 physicians which cannot be replaced.
This nation needs common sense in so many areas, or what little industry we have left will disappear. Government is not the answer. It is the cause of many problems.

Well it seems Russia has been meeting hurriedly with NATO, Iran, Syria, and all other major allies and players in the region. They have decided to use a tactile nuclear weapon against ISIS and have warned the Kurds, and other countries to remove personnel from the area of the attack. ISIS stands no chance. They will never recover and rightly so. I applaud Russia for restraint and for having these meetings to negotiate the details and warn the affected parties. While many will decry the use of a nuclear weapon this is similar to the invasion of Japan in WWII. Rather than lose a hundred thousand men hunting down these groups in the desert, you simply wipe out all their operations center in a blink. They will surrender. They will have no choice. They will die a horrible, writing death, and those that survive will wish they never decided to establish a theocratic state bent on the hateful genocide of innocents.

Anyone with half a lick of sense…can clearly tell that isn’t the Russian airliner. Let me ask you people that actually believe this nonsense….does ISIS have an Air Force?….No they don’t! So…how is it…they’re capable of getting supposed video capture of an aircraft being shot down from close up? That Russian airliner lost contact with ground controllers….17 MINUTES AFTER TAKEOFF. That airliner would have nearly reached its cruising altitude and would have been WELL out of the range of any ground video equipment. Also…for those of you claiming that ISIS has “known military hardware (anti-aircraft missiles) capable of hitting aircraft out of the sky….how is it, Israel would PERMIT such equipment to exist for more than 5 minutes….that close to its borders.

Obviously, you don’t bother to READ the articles you actually link. If in fact…you’re trying to make the connection to this aircraft going down, and, short range shoulder launched missiles….you’re way off base. That airliner had been airborne for 17 minutes before it lost contact…it would have climbed to an altitude that would have put it…well out of the range of any shoulder launched missile. Now…had the aircraft actually gone down within the first 2 or 3 minutes after takeoff….then, and only then would your argument hold water.

SO it was an altitude sensitive bomb that was planted. Doesn’t make much difference to the dead passengers and crew — and as someone has pointed out previously it was no accident that this particular flight was being filmed.

This was a a charter aircraft for Russian tourists. It could have been caused by a bomb on board. Either way, ISIS will feel the heat just for implying they did it. I wish we had a President we could look up to and protect us when we are harmed by others. Take them out Putin.

My first guess: That’s a Frankenstein of various clips not related to this recent loss.
One clip is of a flaming object falling, but the object that hits ground is not flaming. Not even trailing smoke. Hitting a liner at 31,000 feet takes a big rocket and ground control hardware that has not been seen with the savages in the Sinai.

The hole in the top of the fuselage likely means that ISIS got a bomb in carry on. The pilots probably still had some control of the plane, due to the fact that it landed fairly flat and is mostly intact. It’s also clear that one hell of a piloting job was done to get this bird back to the airport, although it didn’t land safely…..
