Muslim engineer at U.S. defense contractor gets 8 years for giving details on U.S. jets to Iran

Another patriotic Muslim migrant:

Muslim engineer at U.S. defense contractor gets 8 years for giving details on U.S. jets to Iran,” By Robert Spencer, October 24, 2015

“He not only minimizes his criminal conduct but genuinely fails to understand the significance of his actions, and that is especially troubling,” said U.S. District Judge Vanessa Bryant. How does she know he doesn’t understand the significance of his actions? Meanwhile, we can be sure that U.S. defense contractor Pratt & Whitney didn’t think twice about hiring a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen, and never thought of questioning him about his loyalties. That would have been “Islamophobic.”

Mozaffar Khazaee

“Man who sent details on U.S. jets to Iran sentenced to eight years,” by Richard Weizel, Reuters, October 23, 2015 (thanks to Lookmann):

A dual U.S.-Iranian citizen apologized on Friday for exporting sensitive information about U.S. military jets to his native Iran, saying he was simply applying for a job, before a judge sentenced him to eight years and one month in prison.

Mozaffar Khazaee, who had worked as an engineer at U.S. defense contractor Pratt & Whitney, was arrested in January 2014 as he tried to leave the country with sensitive material about the engines for the U.S. Air Force’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and F-22 Raptor aircraft in his luggage.

Khazaee had also exchanged e-mails containing information about the programs with Iranian contacts, according to court papers. He said the e-mails were part of a job application.

“I never sold anything to anybody,” Khazaee, 61, told the court, standing hunched over and reading from notes. “Had I known that making a Powerpoint presentation to an Iranian university in my attempt to get a job was breaking the law, I never would have taken the documents at all.”

U.S. District Judge Vanessa Bryant said she was unimpressed with his assertions about e-mails relating to his previous employer, a unit of diversified manufacturer United Technologies Corp.. The company had laid him off in 2013.

“He not only minimizes his criminal conduct but genuinely fails to understand the significance of his actions, and that is especially troubling,” Bryant said.

The sentence she imposed, which included three years’ supervised release, was less than the 10 years prosecutors had sought.

The U.S. Arms Export Control Act limits the export of information related to weapons systems.

Federal prosecutors contended that Khazaee’s description of that exchange was inaccurate, saying he had e-mailed information on the jets well before being laid off and that he had told a contact in Iran in an e-mail the information he sent was “very controlled … I am taking [a] big risk.”

His 85-year-old mother, who spells her name Molok Khazaye, had asked in a letter to the court for leniency for her son.

“I have no protector other than (my son) and am depend on him financially and emotionally strongly so,” the defendant’s mother wrote. “I kindly request you to grant him a pardon due to his mistake.”…

8 years? The Rosenbergs tried, and failed, to give top secret information and they were EXECUTED! He committed treason! That’s the only criminal offense in our entire legal system that has a guaranteed punishment in the Constitution! How is this country not racist? Apparently Arabs can do no wrong.

    • ljm4

That pretty well sums it up alright. They also have the Cairo Human Rights Declaration to be a catch all of offenses against moslems in every country. Until we have a Dr Carson standing up and peaking out as POTUS then we are just bobbing in the ocean. Moslems skate on just about everything.

      • Robby the Great

I don’t see Carson doing jack on this to be honest. He’s too much of a “nice guy.”

        • Reagan40

Let’s give him a try first.

          • Richard

            Give him a try?
That’s how we got the Affordable Care Act: You’ll have to pass it to learn what it says.
That’s how we got Obama: No vetting, just vote for the black guy or you’re racist.
I like Carson, but let’s thoroughly vet EVERYTHING from now on.

          • Reagan40

Hell no, how can you compare obama son of a muslim man and a muslim stepfather to Carson? Climate change is more of a threat to obama than isis!! I never voted for Obama because I never trusted him. See how he has sold us to iran today? Color of skin has nothing to do with this….Obama was a smooth talker better talker than john macain!!

          • Richard

I did not compare Carson to Obama. I objected to the idea that we could just take a POTUS for a ‘test drive’. Color of skin had everything to do with Obama being elected, if he were white he would have been vetted and rejected.
In 2008 Obama may have appeared to be better than McCain…McCain is a RINO anyway. In 2012 America should have wised up and elected Romney.
Chill, I’m sure I hate Obama at least as much as you do. And I have no problem with our POTUS being black (or half black). I support Carson and I’m a big fan of Alan West. I was good with Herman Cain.

        • KimWilde

Robby, you would rather have someone who will sell you down the river to Dubai ?

          • Budvarakbar

            Or to SA?

        • ljm4

well for one thing the good Doctor is not using the terms radical or moderate. He understands islam is islam. He also is not going to undermine or transform The United States into something it was not intended to be. He has no agenda except the Constitution and a balanced budget.debt reduction. There is a year to go in the bigger picture. Carson is lead by a higher power; a power on the right side of humanity.
Maybe because he doesn’t ooze hubris, good solid folks are taking a liking to him.

Trump is doing a fantastic job in bringing people out of their stupor and getting them to at least consider thinking. If he does only that; he’s provided a great service to America.

    • El Gato

Actually the Constitution gives Congress the power to determine the punishment, which currently includes death, and always has.

What the Constitution does is define treason, the only crime defined, and restricted, therein. But it also gives Congress the power to declare the punishment, which currently includes death.

      Art. III, Section. 3.
Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War
against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and
Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony
of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have Power to declare
the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work
Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person
      attainted.

      ____

      That’s the whole section.
Giving sensitive defense information to Iran is certainly giving them aide and comfort. But Obama’s justice department isn’t about to charge someone with Treason for aiding Muslims. Now if he’d given such information to Israel.. that would be different.

    • durabo

I’m surprised that the dictator did not welcome him into his Politburo!

    • Susan

You mean “muslims” can do no harm. Well look at the muslim traitor in the WH and you will see why. The Constitution means nothing to said traitor.

    • Wasmuth

There is doubt that the Rosenbergs were guilty. Were they executed because they were Jews?

      • Budvarakbar

Wise up – they were executed because they were guilty!! — YOU prove otherwise!

      • Robby the Great

Pft. They were found red-handed trying to get nuclear research to the Soviets.

No we don’t. Politicians need to have these people living in their neighborhoods. They should be held accountable for this. All of the alleged hacks, and not one politicians home address exposed. Their home addresses need to be exposed. It’s about time they suffer consequences for who they’re inviting in.

        “We just deserve this.”
This was sarcastic. And “no, we don’t” would be the rhetorical rebut.

Every single Muslim, and most Chinese born have no loyalty to America at all. In fact we are hated and thought idiots. The latter being accurate.

  • Ben

Ha! We need to torment the Muslim mother, to make an example to all the ovens of the terrorists. Wrap him in a pig carcass and allow him to slowly suffocate. Then send the video tape to his mother, courtesy of the American people.

    • Shirley

Why do Americans deserve courtesy while there sitting on there fat arses doing jack to help there self’s and funding these nutters dream on

      • Ben

Ah, an enemy sympathizer. I understand that you have difficulty spelling correctly because English isn’t your first language. Get this–the United States has been at war with Islam since our inception.
Unlike liberal Europeans who view the invaders as poor refugees, or the terrorists who justify their actions, we in America are armed and prepared to defend ourselves against Islamic savagery. While most of your (socialist) people feel they deserve things for nothing, not all of us Americans have fat asses.

  • El Gato

“Meanwhile, we can be sure that U.S. defense contractor Pratt &
Whitney didn’t think twice about hiring a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen, and
never thought of questioning him about his loyalties. That would have
    been “Islamophobic.”

Yes it would, and Obama’s EEOC would have
been all over their asses with fines and maybe even disbarment from
contracts for a while. Also required “training” for all UTC employees,
which would not be cheap either.

BUT, the folks at DISCO (Defense
Industrial Security Office) should have turned down his application for a
security clearance. If they had, P&W/UTC, could have fired his
ass, because defense industry contracts, and job offer agreement,
usually have a provision for letting go of new employees who fail to get
    a clearance

But of course DISCO is Obama’s DISCO, and under the same sorts of pressure as the companies.

    • St. Michael Defend Us

Another great example of the benefits we reap from allowing unfettered dual citizenship.
I was with a group of older ladies the other day, and brought up the topic of the dual citizenship of many Mexicans who vote in both countries. When I pointed out that the USA requires naturalized citizens to take an oath renouncing any other loyalties to other countries, they thought that was really unfair, and that no one should be expected to be bound by any oath anymore- people just AREN’T. They didn’t see ANY potential problems arising from dual loyalties- either Mexican, or, like here, Iranian, or, as also brought up, Chinese.
In fact, one woman said one of her younger relatives has applied for, and has become, a dual citizen of the country his grandparents ESCAPED to come to the USA, as an homage to them. Everyone thought that was very admirable.
I think the EU is not the only place where a lack of borders and identity is promoted in the belief that this will produce utopia.

    • Richard

You are correct, dual citizenship with Iran should have been a non-starter for any kind of clearance applied for through SF86 with DISCO. They have been relaxing their standards significantly in the last ten years or so. Of late working in a SCIF has become a multi-culti experience, it didn’t use to.

  • Pray Hard

A Muslim engineer working for a defense contractor? What could possibly go wrong?

    • We’re a prayin alright

About the same things that could go wrong if you put one in the White House. AND the current occupant of the WH has done far worse than this dude.

    • durabo

America is suicidal: look at whom we elected – TWICE!

    • Budvarakbar

There is a very high percentage of Muslim and Chinese working for defense contractors and all other major corps and all municipal government agencies throughout the US — “What could possibly go wrong?” This country has been committing suicide for almost 50 years now — enjoy the ride!

  • Reagan40

He would have got a death sentence in iran….

  • Michael Garfinkel

    This is “small potatoes.”

Obama just vetoed the entire defense budget.

  • durabo

Mozzafar-ker should be placed in the general population of the prison. There are prisoners in there who still believe in patriotism. He’ll be sounding off like a “Kazoo” by the time they are done with him.

  • Stephen Honig

Eight years? What! If it was in reverse with a Muslim giving secrets to the U.S., his had would be off. Don’t worry, Obama will give him, Hassan and all the other evil rats clemency when he leaves office.

  • movingwaters

Can’t help but think about the double standard and way to lenient sentence applied here. Jonathan Pollard’s case comes to mind.

    That’s what I thought.

  • John Doe

He knew it is better to give than to receive, so he gave this information to Iran, because he has a giving heart. Now cut it out before it grows.

  • Memri Dotorg

It seems shocking that this case was prosecuted as a violation of the Arms Export Control Act

    https://www.fbi.gov/newhaven/press-releases/2015/former-connecticut-resident-sentenced-to-more-than-eight-years-in-prison-for-attempting-to-send-u.s.-military-technology-to-iran

Sorry, but how does this loser’s actions fall under this act, except it gives the clown in white house the excuse to sentence this guy to 8 years instead of try him for treason.

A cursory read of the statute seems to be that this is intended to penalize people, companies, governments for selling arms not for transferring military secrets of the United States to enemy governments.

This is what we have in the white house – and running the FBI, ie Lorretta Lynch, who isnt fit to run a night court. It is sickening that the men and women who are out there in the field are forced to shoe horn this guys treasonout acts into a violation of a law that has nothing to do with it so that he can be subject to the maximum penalty of 20years and 1MM fine.

This law was enacted in 1968 and amended a zillion times for various reasons. The FBI press release doesn’t detail exactly how this act relates to this guys actions specifically. But a helpful link that says “This content has been reproduced from its original source. ” when you click on it, takes you to….the home page of the department of justice! Shocker! Oh 2016 cant come soon enough – so we can get rid of the keystone cops in charge of our safety.

  • Budvarakbar

What an eff’n joke — I wrote off engineering in the US over 45 years ago because of this wholesale importation and red carpeting of the moo-slime upper class SOB’s that were infiltrating all through the 1960’s and 1970’s esp in engineering — esp after affirmative action kicked in!

  • Ruger9c

8 years in prison?? That’s ALL this POS Mud-Slime gets for trying to send Classified Documents about OUR Fighter Jets to other Mud-Slimes in iran??? If he is a Dual Citizen with the U.S. and Iran… Why not Charge him with Treason?? But then again the Head mooslim in the White Hut would probably Pardon him. Hopefully the Next President has some Balls to deal with these mooslim SCUMBAGS!!!!!
