UK: NHS Records More Than 1,000 FGM Cases In Just Three Months

89

It’s here in America, too. How bad? It’s anyone’s guess. But it’s prevalent in Muslim communities. According to one human rights activist, it’s a crisis.

Back in 2010, I reported that here in America, the Academy of Pediatrics suggested that American doctors be given permission to perform a “nick” on girls from Islamic cultures. The norming of savagery. Because of our opposition to their “well-intentioned” abomination, the Academy of Pediatrics withdraw its “2010 Policy Statement on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) that Endorsed Pediatricians’ ‘Nicking’ of Girls’ Genitalia.”

In one particular case in Australia, defense lawyers tried to slither out of conviction by trying to argue the girls were not victims of female genital mutilation because they only received a “nick” to their clitoris.

Story continues below advertisement

They were unsuccessful with that outrageous defense, but as the norming of the sharia becomes more commonplace in the West, that kind of cultural equivocation will be sanctioned.

Dissemblers and deceivers claim that FGM is cultural phenomenon, not religious. But the fact is that it is an Islamic cultural phenomenon.

The more Muslims immigrate to Western countries, the more clitoridectomies will become horrifyingly commonplace.

“NHS Records More Than 1,000 FGM Cases In Just Three Months,” by Sarah Ann Harris, The Huffington Post UK, September 23, 2015 (thanks to TheReligionofPeace.com):

More than 1,000 cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) were recorded in just three months in the UK, it has been revealed.

For the quarter April to June this year, there were 1,036 newly-recorded cases of FGM in England, with a total of 1,159 attendances for FGM, according to the Press Association.

Nine of the individuals were aged under 18 when they were first seen, the data from the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) revealed.

The shocking figures have been made public after the health service began recording incidences of FGM for the very first time.

Much of the FGM reported may be historic, as the abuse is normally carried out on infants and young teenagers. The NHS data did not specify whether it was carried out in the UK or abroad, as is the case in many instances of FGM.

Tanya Barron, chief executive of global children’s charity Plan UK, which works to combat FGM worldwide, said: “It’s shocking to see the extent of FGM here in the UK.

“We’ve seen hugely increased attention on this problem in the past few years and we are now waking up to the scale of this terrible practice.

“What we must always keep in mind though is that this is not specifically a British problem.

“FGM is a practice with an inherently global dimension.

“And while it’s vital that we do everything we can to stop FGM here in the UK, as well as to support the girls and women affected by it, the reality is that this practice won’t end in the UK until it is ended worldwide.”

FGM is illegal in the UK. It is also illegal to take a female abroad for the purposes of FGM.

The maximum jail term for carrying out or enabling FGM is 14 years.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), FGM is carried out for social and religious reasons and is an “extreme form of discrimination against women”.

Babies born to women who have undergone FGM suffer a higher rate of death compared with those born to women who have not undergone the procedure.

Women with FGM also have increased risk of stillbirth, infants that need resuscitation and low birth weight babies.

FGM is estimated to lead to an extra one or two baby deaths per 100 deliveries worldwide.

An estimated 130 million women and girls around the world are through to be living with FGM.

An international day of zero tolerance of FGM took place earlier this year, with a number of measures, including NHS recording, outlined to help to end the horrifying practice.

This included better training for frontline health workers on how to communicate with patients about the highly sensitive issue, allowing clinicians to note on a child’s health record if they are at risk of FGM and an additional £2million for a programme backed by Barnardos and the Local Government Association to create a specialised team of social workers.

Start castrating the men who do this. Will end it promptly!
British in India seen live women being thrown on the fires of their dead husbands and they stopped it by killing those responsible. I’m sure someone can elaborate on this better than I can, but when you let other people’s limitations and inabilities become your own, your done, you just haven’t realized it yet.

Cultures who cut their girls – also cut their boys.
If we end non consensual MGM, suddenly FGM will disappear.

Let’s be honest, FGM NEVER occurs in cultures where men are left intact.

Bzzzzzzt, please try again

Circ removes 90% of the specialized nerve receptors on the male. The most common form of circumcision is much more invasive and destructive than the most common type of female cutting (Type 1 a simple nick to the clittoris or type 2 removing the entire clittoral hood) Male circ is on par with type 4 FGM removing ~30,000 specialized sexual nerve receptors.

Further, FGM is most commonly done in the world in a sterile environment by doctors, not with the crude tools shown (Check info on sunnat in the Philippines )

The truth is that the foreskin is a very problematic and vestigial part of the human body. One in ten men will suffer, at some point in their life, a very serious and painful phimosis, when the infected sphincter at the end of the foreskin will not relax. A large proportion of those men will actually suffer an even more painful tear, and the foreskin will have to be removed anyway. One in ten is extraordinarily high. No other part of the body is that prone to failure.

Hi Mary Zaba,

FGM is NOT an approved practice in Islam

What about female circumcision?
Female circumcision is allowed in Islam and is an even less extensive procedure as compared to male circumcision, because it involves just a small trimming of the clitoral hood (which looks like a rooster’s comb), which is the prepuce or “foreskin” of the clitoris (15) (17). (This procedure is not to be confused with female genital mutilation or FGM, which is a totally different procedure involving the removal of the clitoris or altering of the genitalia and is NOT an approved practice in Islam). Recovery is even quicker and there are hardly any short term or long term complications. The benefits with references to medical sources (12) may include improved hygiene, reduced UTI incidences and lower infections of the reproductive systems. It will be interesting to know that in Malaysia, where female circumcision is performed extensively by the Malay-Muslim community, the incidence of cervical cancer in Malay women is lowest amongst the 3 major race groups (Indians, Chinese and Malays). (18)(19) Another study shows that Malay women are at lower risk of orgasmic sexual dysfunction as compared to non-Malays. (20)

Priests & Preachers To Islam (List)

Many Come To Islam

Faith – Belief – Salvation: All topics discussed by preachers of all faiths and many people change from one faith to another on a daily basis. Yet, the real question should be, “Why do so many knowledgeable religious leaders – GO TO ISLAM?
The report estimated around 5,200 men and women have adopted Islam over the past 12 months, including 1,400 in London. Nearly two-thirds were women, more than 70 per cent were white and the average age at conversion was 27.

The number of Muslim converts in Britain has passed 100,000, fuelled by a surge in young white women adopting the Islamic faith.

The figure has almost doubled in ten years – with the average convert now a 27-year-old white woman fed up with British consumerism and immorality.

The survey, conducted by Kevin Brice from Swansea University, asked converts for their views on the negative aspects of British culture.

They identified alcohol and drunkenness, a ‘lack of morality and sexual permissiveness’, and ‘unrestrained consumerism’.

Not surprising that this article is being written by a Ph.D. rather than an M.D. and is being run in a pop journal of PSYCHOLOGY. There are numerous factual errors in this article like the idea that the foreskin at certain stages of development does not retract. Utterly and completely false. I suggest you consult information that is produced by experts in medicine and related fields (not social sciences). This was truly ridiculous.

Doctors across Europe do not recommend circumcision, nor do doctors in Australia or Japan. Japan has some of the oldest living people in the world!
Only 30% of males in the world are circumcised – the overwhelming of these are muslims. Thus, circumcision is a barbaric and sadistic religious practice, not medical.
Any doctor who states routine circumcision on all males is a quack – it is they who need to see a shrink.

Your focus is entirely on the number of nerve receptors removed as a comparative basis for arguing MGM is worse than FGM? FGM is often much more complicated, with lifelong effects that are not comparable. As I mentioned in a prior post, in some types of FGM the labia are also cut and stitched, creating a pouch that becomes a high risk area for infection, as urine and menstrual product can collect therein. This labial mutilation also leads to dreadful pain and potential injury during sexual intercourse and of course, childbirth.

To be honest I can’t tell whether you are deliberately trying to be deceitful or simply lack knowledge in this regard? Or do you have an sexist or religious agenda that blinds you to the greater risk and complications that young girls and women may suffer, depending on the degree and sterility of this procedure?

I am also affronted that you would ask the readers her to suspend their disbelief and simply accept your Philippine factoid as sufficient evidence for the safety of the procedure on a global level? This makes me all the more suspicious that you are an ideologue and like all of your ilk facts be damned!

Nope, I suspect you’re guilty of cultural bias. Claiming it’s bad when another culture does it to it’s children but we’re OK when we do it to ours.

Circ also has men lifelong issues not known until the man reaches adulthood.

90% of the worlds circumcised men live in the US and Israel and together we use 80% of the worlds viagra supply.

Cut men are associated with drier sex, have a greater chance of sexual dysfunction in adulthood (ED), tight painful erections and many other serious side effects. Perhaps you should go do some research instead of assuming there’s zero side effects to amputating a body part?

Thanks for raising the issue of cultural bias which I suspect you are possibly guilty of yourself…if not that then a strong ideological bias, which is evidenced by your evasive answer and unfounded assertion that circumcision leads to erectile dysfunction as evidenced by sales of viagara in Israel and the US!??? Are you serious? On the other hand there is a strong association between pornography and erectile dysfunction, with some excellent empirical studies readily available if you choose to inform yourself instead of putting up these specious arguments.

As to my alleged cultural bias I submit my concern is more a matter of professional duty of care, given I am a registered health practitioner. Secondly I note you completely ignored my prior posts where I made clear I do not advocate MGM so let me make it clear for you …..I OPPOSE BOTH MGM and FGM. Backed up by the FACT that I chose NOT to circumcise my male children!

Well, the life long effects of males being circumcised is first
Keratinization – where the glands which are supposed to be internal and
protected by the foreskin become tougher due to the exposure of air.
Second, due to keratinization and the loss of the gliding mechanism
foreskin naturally provides – couples have to resort to use of
lubricant.

Ironically and so sadly, society blames women for
becoming ‘dryer’ as they age- well, actually it is because the man is
cut, meaning there is no natural gliding mechanism AND because the
corona ridge being completely exposes during intercourse – all remaining
moisture is being extracted.

Come on – equal rights for all !!

A male circumcision isn’t close to fgm. If I cut the foreskin from the penis, then stitched the top of the penis closed, so only small drips of urine could be released — stitched the flaccid skin so that it was taught, not allowing for erection, and performed this surgery on a 10 year old boy with no anesthetic with a rusty razor blade, THEN we can compare the two!

No. Male circumcision is not purely cosmetic. One in ten men at some point in their life will suffer a painful phimosis (when the sphincter at the end of the prepuce becomes infected and will not relax), many of those men will actually have the skin tear, in which case the prepuce has to be removed anyway.

bzzzzt again.

#1Phimosis is incredibly rare and usually mis-diagnosed. It can easily be treated with creams not cutting.

#2 Further, an amputation of part of the genitals without -immediate- medical need, but as a prophylactic measure is ludicrous. The lifetime chances of a medically indicated circumcision are 1:10,000 and the chances of your baby dying as a result of circumcision are 1:16,667

#3 There are medical studies that show benefits to female circumcision, would you support FGM being done if there are medical benefits?

I can’t believe anyone would compare circumcision to female genital mutilation. In no fundamentalist culture is male sexuality treated with the same contempt as female sexuality. Male sexuality is often praised while female sexuality is treated with contempt, hence the emphasis placed on female sexual purity but not male. Comparing male circumcision to female genital mutilation is like comparing someone having their little pinky toe cut off to someone having both eyeballs cut out. Female genital mutilation utterly cripples women. Their sexual needs build up like a pressure cooker with no ability for the release of orgasm. They are denied the ability to experience the greatest physical pleasure possible. Meanwhile they are impregnated over and over and left to deal with the hell of childbirth. So they get all the negative without the positive. Male circumcision is done for cleanliness and health and/or as a covenant, where female genital mutilation is done to oppress women and show them that they are not entitled to intense pleasure like men are. If you don’t mutilate women, there is still such a heinous disadvantage. The male role in reproduction is only intense pleasure, while the woman may or may not experience intense pleasure but is likely to suffer intense pain and possibly death in childbearing. This being in addition to the fact that men are big and rough and tough and women are physically and emotionally more delicate. A sane person would look at things and realize what a bad deal women got in biology, being weaker and more delicate AND suffering pain and danger in childbearing. This sane person would see the importance of her pleasure in a marriage and sexual satisfaction being a two-way street. But savage criminals like Muslims hate women and resent the fact they can enjoy sex, so they cut their clitorises off so they can’t be sexually satisfied but still suffer all the negative of childbirth. For most men, having their sexual needs met is extremely important. Many men also say that if it were up to them to give birth there would be very few children in the world. So leave it to a bunch of misogynistic Muslims to impose on women what they would hate for themselves.

Hi Julia, thanks very much for the time you spent replying to me.
In regards to control of male sexuality, Moses Marmonities stated:

‘with regard to circumcision, one of the reasons for it is, in my opinion, to bring about a decrease in sexual intercourse and a weakening of the organ in question’.

John Kellogg made a similar statement, however he believed circumcision was a cure for masturbation – which was believed then to be a symptom of mental illness, as such Kellogg recommended that circumcision be performed:

‘Without administering an anesthetic, as the pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect on the mind, especially if connected with the idea of punishment’.

In regards to cleanliness –> take a bath!

Male circumcision perverts natural sex. The foreskin and the frenulum are a highly erogenous parts for men; similar to the clitoris and the surrounding labia. Circumcision removes the foreskin and either removes or damages the frenulum.
You may believe that men are not affected by this as they still can climax, though this may have to be assisted by artificial lubricants and high level of thrusting.
PLEASE NOTE: American society blames women as they age for the need to use lubricants – yet they fail to see the connection of circumcision and the removal of the foreskin which is destruction of the natural gliding mechanism of the penis.
So much for feminism in the 2010s 🙁

It’s very important in life to know what you like. But please don’t inflict your preferences onto your children. Let them make their down decisions. They will thank you for it. Believe me, I’ve thanked my parents for making the decision they did when I was born – a simple but very wise and humane decision – do nothing at all.

Breast feeding for all – CIRCUMCISION FOR NONE.

Women want their girls to look like mommy, just as men want their boys to like daddy. Then sadly, everyone believes being cut is ‘normal’ and genital cutting pervades generation after generation.

Cuda, I have read where women, generally a grandmother of the tribe was the one who did the deed. Those events transpired in North and Central Africa in this century. According to what I read, the reason Muslims do FGM is because they believe the girl is made pure by the act and insures virginity. It sounded screwey to me but that’s what Muslims claim. After all, Muslim men “buy” their wives…it’s a kind of dowry thing. That’s why many Muslims marry within the family, to keep the money “in the family”. Strange customs.

Female circumcision is allowed in Islam and is an even less extensive procedure as compared to male circumcision, because it involves just a small trimming of the clitoral hood (which looks like a rooster’s comb), which is the prepuce or “foreskin” of the clitoris (15) (17). It will be interesting to know that in Malaysia, where female circumcision is performed extensively by the Malay-Muslim community, the incidence of cervical cancer in Malay women is lowest amongst the 3 major race groups (Indians, Chinese and Malays). Tim you are nothing but a distraction and should be ashamed that you dare take any focus from the mutilation of women, it is not the same in any fashion.I am circumcised and it does not prevent me from enjoying sex, it does not increase my chances of infection or passing one to a partner, if you have issues with circumcision start your own thread

Most FGM victims say they can enjoy sex and most say they have a fulfilling sex life. Many can still experience orgasm.

Circ is NOT cleaner and it does not reduce STD transmission and HPV claims are equally dubious. There is in fact evidence that circ INCREASES the chance of passing STD’s to the receiving partner

Distraction? Please explain?

Cultures who cut their girls ALSO cut their boys.

There are NO cultures where men are left intact who cut their women.

Thank you Cuda. And I’ve heard of adult men who were not circumcised going to the doctor of their own volition because the thing was nasty and had issues and drove them nuts. A woman being glad she didn’t have a clitoris so her husband could exploit her body for his own pleasure but deny her orgasms would be like a person saying, “I’m so glad the person next to me gouged my eyeballs out so I can’t enjoy watching this awesome movie like they are enjoying it!”

Infibulation of women leads to life long health issues. Not only is the clitoris removed , so there can be little or no sexual pleasure, the labia are also often stitched together leaving a small vaginal hole, that is horribly and painfully torn during sex. The stitched together labia create a pouch where urine and menstrual blood can collect…as it is difficult to clean…leading to bacterial infection. It is nothing like a circumcision…not that I advocate that either. The psychological damage from the trauma of the mutilation and oftentimes lifelong suffering of these women is awful. This truly is a barbaric and savage practice.

Graphic is the best response. Look at the changed perception of sorting out baby parts has done to change minds. What is done behind closed doors needs to be exposed here. Thanks for the clarity on the health issues. If it was ok, they would televise it as any other procedure, leading to the question, does anybody have a live documentation? It would change more quickly if shown. Some would complain about it being too graphic and porn like, but their minds cannot be fixed any way. There is something that happens to you when shown, it startles your conscience and awakens righteous indignation.

Hell, in the US they can take 50% of the penile shaft skin and 90% of the specialized nerve receptors.

Doctors usually charge $300 for this and it is done to 60% of US males

What annoys me is that in the UK, the NHS is losing thousands of pounds a week and they are throwing money away treating these girls for a barbaric 7th Century practice inflicted on them. Why should the UK be held responsible? This money could be used for more important things, like treating the indigenous population who are forced to contribute a big chunk of their salary towards the health system.

I think the number of arrests in the UK for performing FGM or allowing it to be performed is ZERO. Sharia compliant governments. Arrests not made because of orders from on high. Don’t upset the muslims. Maintain Social Cohesion at all costs.

Hi Kathy,

The benefit of female circumcision are :

It prevents unpleasant odours which result from foul secretions beneath
the prepuce.
It reduces the incidence of urinary tract infections
It reduces the incidence of infections of the reproductive system.
In the book on Traditions that affect the health of women and children, which was published by the World Health Organization in 1979 it says:
With regard to the type of female circumcision which involves removal of the prepuce of the clitoris, which is similar to male circumcision, no harmful health effects have been noted.

Impact of circumcisions studied

CHAPS, the Center for HIV and AIDS Prevention Studies, which manages the clinics, continues to study the impact of circumcisions.

CEO Dirk Taljaard said new data suggests circumcision benefits women, too.

“We saw a protective effect for women. If you had women in the community that have only had circumcised partners, the risk was reduced already by 20 percent for 15- to 25-years-old women,” Taljaard said.

Some studies estimate that, in South Africa, for every four circumcisions, one HIV infection is avoided. Since 2007, more than 1.5 million circumcisions have been performed in the country, suggesting close to 400,000 new infections may have been avoided.

♠ Medical research has found that a high percentage of women who have had genital surgery “have rich sexual lives, including desire, arousal, orgasm, and satisfaction, and their frequency of sexual activity is not reduced.”
♠ Reproductive health and medical complications linked to female genital surgery happen
infrequently.
♠ Those who value female genital surgery view it as aesthetic enhancement, not mutilation.
♠ In almost all societies where female genital surgery is performed, male genital surgery also takes place. Broadly speaking, then, such societies “are not singling out females as targets of punishment, sexual deprivation, or humiliation.”
♠ The link between patriarchy and female genital surgery is unfounded. Almost no
patriarchal societies adhere to the practice and, at the same time, the practice is not customary in the world’s most sexually restrictive societies.

There are studies that claim female circumcision lowers HIV and STD risk

Kankiet al. reported that, in Senegalese prostitutes, women who had undergone Female Circumcision had a significantly decreased risk of HIV-2 infection when compared to those who had not. Kanki P, M’BoupS, Marlink R, et al. “Prevalence and risk determinants of human

Male circumcision is prescribed in the Koran at age 7 days. Female genital mutilation is done without any anesthesia much later. Whether this is the intent or not, it certainly is useful in keeping women subjugated in that culture.
