CNN VIDEO: Pamela Geller Debates Chris Cuomo on Freedom of Speech

96

One on one with Chris Cuomo.

Chris Cuomo and I have at it. He fights for sharia. I fight for freedom. His cutting me off constantly is annoying, but it is, after all, CNN.

Story continues below advertisement

They pretend it’s about not offending when at it’s all about fear. Cuomo told me off-camera that it is CNN policy not to run the cartoons because of fear of violence. In a word, submission.

cuomo geller

UPDATE: Left-lemmings on twitter are jumping on the “n-word” analogy. There is nothing inherently offensive about the cartoons — the winning cartoon mocks the death threats that Muslims issue for drawing Muhammad. It is a stand against violent intimidation — any Muslim who supports free speech will support us.

The n-word is just an intentional slur with no positive message. Our ad stands for free speech in the face of violence and thuggery.

UPDATE: The Blaze has this:

‘Snap Out of It’: CNN Host Likens Drawing the Prophet Muhammad to Saying the N-WordBilly Hallowell, The Blaze, May 28, 2015

Activist Pamela Geller clashed with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday morning, accusing him of “very shallow journalism” and pushing back against a comparison that he made between saying the N-word and drawing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

The heated segment started with Cuomo discussing the Garland shooting that unfolded earlier this month when “would-be jihadists” attacked the venue where Geller’s Muhammad cartoon contest was held, before asking why she’s now trying to publicly post the winning cartoon on Washington D.C. buses.

“The media and the political and academic elites are censoring this cartoon and we think the American people should see that you are self-enforcing the Shariah,” Geller responded.

The conversation heated up after Cuomo, who called the shooters “crazy extremists” who “bought into an ideology that is sick,” accused Geller of calculating her event in a way that would be provocative — a claim that she dismissed as “nonsense.”

“The N-word gets treated the same way that depictions of Muhammad does,” Cuomo said. “We don’t say it because it’s offensive, not because legally I can’t.”

Geller dismissed that comparison and called it a “dishonest narrative,” defending cartoons of Muhammad as political speech that is permissible under the First Amendment. While Cuomo didn’t dispute that fact, he continued to question the wisdom behind it.

“Since when do you care about being offensive?,” Geller asked, accusing the CNN host of making past negative statements about her, before continuing to lambaste the N-word comparison. ”It’s not analogous … it’s outrageous. It’s a dishonest narrative and I am not going to debate intellectual dishonesty.”

Watch the clash.

Geller also accused Cuomo of “very shallow journalism” after he asked why she opposed the controversial mosque that was planned near Ground Zero. While she said that she has no problem with mosques in general, she found the proposed house of worship problematic.

“A 15-story megamosque in a building that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks by the landing gear is deeply humiliating and deeply offensive,” she said. ”It was a middle finger to the American people.”

To that, Cuomo countered, “And you don’t see that as what you’re doing with the Prophet Muhammad?” Geller answered that the two are very different from one another, before challenging the host to reveal where he would “draw the line” when it comes to free speech.

“You’re saying no cartoons — that to me is so much more destructive to a free society than alcohol,” she said. “I mean, it’s free speech. It’s a cartoon, Chris. Snap out of it.”

Everyone must realize that, let me stress this, EVERYTHING is offensive to someone somewhere! i repeat, EVERYTHING is offensive to someone, so does this mean we just need to shoot ourselves in the head because we are offended by something?! I am offended by homosexuals, does that mean they all need to go away? YES! Islam is offended by eating PORK, does this mean we have to rid our world of pork? do you see how insane this logic is? makeup is offensive to me, lets get rid of it! Are you freaking serious we have to now get rid of EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD because it offends someone! GROW THE F UP and realize islam is and will be the death of EVERYTHING NON ISLAM!

Good job Pamela!
“Prophet” Muhammad’s Shariamonster, also known as “Islam,” wants to decapitate our freedom of speech. Muhammad himself had his critics murdered – and Muhammad’s Shariamonster still follows his barbarous “Excellent Example.” Will Americans stand with the Founding Fathers, who wrote the Bill of Rights for the Land of the Free – or will we stand with the vile “Prophet” Muhammad’s vile Shariamonster which brings oppression and violence wherever it goes? Let’s stand with the Founding Fathers – and not with the cowardly idiots who would have us discard our most precious freedom. Say “NO” to the vile Shariamonster. and say “NO” to Islam!comment image

Q: Is it right to show it?

A: It is wrong to show it under sharia law. I am not a muslim. There is no reason why I as a non-muslim should find a drawing as offensive. It is an islamic construct to find it offensive. America has freedom of religion. I am free to not follow the tenants of islam. Non-muslims have no reason to see it as offensive. If you want to submit to sharia then say what you are doing is submiting to sharia, but I as a non-muslim have a right to not find it offensive since I do not submit to sharia.

Dhimmitude. Chris Cuomo is submissive. CNN is a dhimmi-station. The poor muslims feel offended by cartoons. That’s why nobody should do art exhibitions with Mohammad cartoons. These muslims in America will soon establish Sharia. Step by step, because guys like Chris Cuomo and the Democrats and some Republicans and the churches are so blind.
It’s the power of the money behind islam that’s driving America into submission. No critical broadcasts, no critical articles. It is not the islam, it’s “extremists”. Nobody wants to understand the real threat. IS or ISIS is pure islam. There is no such thing as moderate islam. Just like it is not possible to be moderate pregnant. Mathematics will prove, that in 30 or 40 years USA will be an islamic state. And Pamela is just aware and the media is so blind.

If you think Cuomo looks clueless now, imagine what people will think of this televised encounter, which is really quite typical, fifty years from now.

They will find it remarkable that in the run up to the catastrophe inflicted on the American homeland by Jihadists, Cuomo, and the media he represents were so oblivious to the prospect of impending danger.

Hendrik
Hendrik

I posted this under the video, I will repeat it here, slightly edited:

She did not let him run with the N word and she did turn the debate around IMO. She clearly stated that it is a false analogy and that she does not want to buy into this narrative that he was trying to create and that the cartoon was political. Then she went on the attack even further by saying he submitted to sharia law and asked him where he would draw the line, then he did not give an answer and ran away from the debate.

Pam owned him, while keeping her cool.

Now we need quick soundbites to dismantle this oxymoron islamophobia. It is being made fashionable these days and this dhimmi does not get to call anybody an islamphobe if you know how many people are suppressed, criminalized or even put into harms way for who they are as a result of Islamic doctrine. Gays, Lesbians, apostates, atheists, but also people who commit adultery and so on. Islamophobia is a disgusting weasel word used by Muslims to hypocritically and shamelessly appropriate the suffering and misery associated with homophobia. The very thing their own religion and societies are full off! It’s hilarious. People standing up against intolerance get to be called the hero’s and do not get to be smeared as phobic of anything.

Why is this dhimmi not calling that out and take issue with Islam where it violates so many other peoples rights? With his line of reasoning I can claim to be a Nazi and when he even insinuates I hate Jews or want to kill some minority groups, I can accuse him of Naziphobia. Yeah sure some Nazi’s wanted to kill Jews, gypsies and what not, but to even insinuate that all of us would hold such ideas is gross and pure bigotry. I mean really?

This guy defending Islam the way he does makes him Caligynephobic (fear of beautiful women, putting them in beekeeper suits), Gynophobic (fear of women, granting them unequal rights to men), Homophobic, Infidelophobic (fear of non believers), Cynophobic (fear of dogs, yes that is actually a thing in many Muslim communities) and so on.

I mean look at this stuff:

* http://islamqa.info/en/20824

Look at how all Muslim countries with a red color as a result of the above:

* http://bit.ly/1G3qF6P

Look at how many Muslim countries have fascist laws in place to tell people what they should think or not, also as a result of Islamic doctrine:

* http://1.usa.gov/1BrR2iH

He also should be branded as a hater of freedom and equality in general by the way:

* http://bit.ly/1G3qIQa

Name me one Muslim country from Morocco to Indonesia that can be called free to an acceptable level, never mind score a triple 1 score? 50 Muslim nations, none are free as a result of a totalitarian ideology that suppresses people. As a result of that one, Cuomo should be called eleutherophobic alone, but I just call it treason. Treason to Western and America’s top value. This guy tries to attack people who stand up against injustice and use religion as a umbrella to hide under and sell out on something like freedom. He is tolerant to the intolerant and that makes him an enemy of freedom and tolerance:

* http://i.imgur.com/i2ABEYJ.jpg

Finally, one could say that he is a bigot and an islamophobe himself, as he thinks along the lines of the soft bigotry of low expectations. He calls Pam and others repeatedly out as being provocative and clearly tries to insinuate that such a terrorist reaction can be the result and that somehow this is on the people organizing these events. Would he have the same standard expectations for Christians, Hindu’s, Buddhists or even Atheists? No. He singles Muslims out as some inferior group by coming from a place of understanding or even rationalizing any violent attacks. Applying different standards makes him a bigot and an islamophobe. Watch this video and and just mentally fill in Muslim(s) for every time you hear her say blacks:

* http://bit.ly/1G3q9Wv

Chris Cuomo exposes himself as despicable human being who thinks he is white knighting, but actually discriminates in doing so. It is time we start to call these people out and go for the attack as that is the only way to restore the correct and honest discourse.

I listened to this interview at a table in the nearly-empty cafeteria, seated next to a lone student from my morning Civics class. I am teaching the civil rights movement through the eyes of Claudette Colvin, the then 15-year-old girl who did not give up her seat on the Montgomery bus 9 months before Rosa Parks, and who was a Plaintiff in Browder v. Gayle, the federal lawsuit which desegregated the buses. (I set the syllabus!) I had mentioned that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was a Republican. She was shocked. I asked why. ‘After all he went through, I thought he would be a Democrat.’ I pointed out, the elected officials throughout the ‘story’ are Democrats; I further pointed out, the partnership between King and President Johnson resulted in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. I suggested that these facts alone – that is, King was a Republican and, at least in 1964, Democrats and Republicans worked together for the common good – might cause her to re-think the quality of information she receives from various sources.

Now, I played the interview, unaware she was listening, too. At the end, she commented, ‘He really didn’t like her, did he.’ I asked why she said that. ‘He was bullying her.’

A little education can be a dangerous thing. Thank goodness.

“I am not going to debate intellectual dishonesty” ~Geller

Great one.

These are beginning to look like the ‘debates’ of the Middle Ages (e.g., Barcelona, Spain, 1263).

The Catholic Church imposed unreasonable limitations on the arguments the Jews could use — such as not being able to say anything that was offensive to Christianity. Wow, what a way to win it…

Who is holding the leashes of these ‘journalists’? I see no one, but they are certainly acting as if they are on a very short one. They have internalized the sharia. It is amusing, however, to hear this one deliberately mispronounce ‘sharia’ more than once. Clue: You’re not fooling anyone, Chris.

Also, Pam, your defence of Cuomo calling Geert Wilders, an Islamophobe was very weak.
Your answer should’ve been, “an Islamophobe? By whose standards? Geer Wilders, opposes violent jihad, and that brutal rights denying Sharia law in any form, period.
He does not hate Muslims, period. Do you oppose violent jihad and Sharia law Chris?” Are you an Islamophobe Chris? Does opposing violent jihad and Sharia law, make one an Islamophobe? If so Chris, put me down as an Islamophobe OK? And while you’re at it Chris, put 90% of Americans on the Islamophobe list, as they too, oppose violent jihad, and Sharia law.”
You had a chance to make him look like a parroting monkey, but missed it.
Keep up your good work, just improve those debating skills.

> ” Geer Wilders, opposes violent jihad, and that brutal rights denying Sharia law in any form, period.He does not hate Muslims, period.”

Indeed, he separates ideology from followers, but do you know who does not separate people from their believes? Islam!

* http://islamqa.info/en/2322
* The Muslim should feel in his heart that he hates the kuffaar and the way they look and behave. This hatred will motivate him to avoid looking like them at all in the way he dresses or in other ways. Do you not see that a person who despises a people or tribe, or people from a certain country, will hate to dress like them, especially if they are poor. As Shaykh al-Islam (Ibn Taymiyah) said: “Looking like them in external appearance indicates that one loves them in one’s heart, and vice versa.” And Allaah knows best.

Islam Q&A
Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid

You read it right. Hate the Kuffaar. Haha, Bigotry if I ever seen it and how do we call people standing up against bigotry? Hero’s. Hero’s who defend freedom and tolerance, like Pam does.

Let’s change the narrative and make it fit reality. Islamophobia actually opens up a whole can of worms for Muslims. They want to hijack leftist lingo, but then will also be judged by it looking at their scripture. The more they make it fashionable, the deeper they will dig a hole for themselves. All we have to do is making clear that we REACT to this intolerance. That is why it is so important to defuse any mixing up about causality in this freedom defense initiative.

The lingo of putting the provocation in the lap of Pam must be defused by saying that all past attacks on free speech like Theo van Gogh, Charlie Hebdo, the Kopenhagen attack have provoked this free speech initiative. We have great audio to make this crystal clear, look at how Nawaz uses this in the proper way:

* http://bit.ly/1FGlGpn

Then the one coming up with framing it as a provocation by Pam must be told that he or she is using the soft bigotry of low expectations. That he or she is a bigot for this reason as even insinuating that drawing a cartoon can be seen as a provocation for a terrorist attack is an expectation level that somebody would not apply on Christians or Buddhists. This position gives away that somebody actually discriminates. The shaming labels must be put on their plate, they do not get to decide who started what. It is on the Muslim extremists that want to implement sharia law by fear, who provoked freedom fighters year after year by killing them and even suggesting there is something provocative going on is equal to being guilty of the bigotry of low expectations.

This is not easy and Pam scored way more points here than Dhimmi Cuomo, who ran away at the end. She was very effective with those questions at the end, of where he would draw the line, as then he gets to be put on the spot and anything less of standing for freedom of speech makes him look like a coward and a total hypocrite. No wonder he stopped making sounds.

“Snap out of it!” is right!!!

CNN policy is seems to be based on protecting their reporters and bureaus across the world, that don’t have first amendment protections, from attack. They know and have seen that ANYTHING can and will set jihadi’s off. Just say it and be honest about the gravity of the situation that is facing EVERYONE including Pamela, Molly, Bosch et al. It is a mitigating factor. It is weak, submissive and brands us all prisoners, but it is their ONLY mitigating factor.

Halfway through and Pamela has to describe the cartoon, I knew she was willing to concede this.

Site them by the dozens and the scores and the hundreds BUT MAKE SURE you make clear the linkage between the CARTOON PROTESTS and THE CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY your groups are protesting.
It is good to simply say that we are speaking out against SHARIA and that freedom of speech is on the line. You are right. BUT .. your words will IMPACT FAR MORE IF you keep bringing up the case by case acts of murder and rape by the Islamic militants.

The cartoons are not to simply speak out for freedom of speech but for a great message to speak about which is TO PROTEST THE EVIL and CRIMES by the Islamic supremacists and which are in the tens of thosuands and this connection MUST BE MADE CRYSTAL CLEAR.

By doing just that, you will focus the world on WHAT IS AT STAKE: real people being murdered in the most horrible and unjust manner.
Look at the MSM .. they practically attack the police for keeping us all safe from “thugs” whenever the police happen to kill one in self-defense .. BUT . Islamic Militants . they can kill anyone at anytime and everything is “no problem.” That is a contrast that is so very insane and actually evil.
Thank you for being the bravest defender in the world today!
I have just bought 1 book by you and 1 by Spencer to show some support.

2 things, I noticed he kept saying “who is telling you that you can’t do this?” Answer is sharia law, which makes it every muslims duty to take this up as a vigilante. Pam did somewhat explain this to him, but i don’t think he has the intelligence to grasp it.

It frustrated me that he called Geert Wilders an islamaphobe. Personally i would have not let the conversation continue past that. Geert Wilders is not afraid of islam, he is well educated about it and trying to save us all from the tyranny of sharia. He is the exact opposite of an islamophobe, and by slandering him you are inciting me.

I believe that by using the term “islamaphobe” in a slanderous fashion, this person should be charged with supporting terrorism. This term invented by islamic supremacists is designed to scare people from standing up against Sharia Law – which is exactly what the terrorists want to impose.

If i’m ever called that my response will be “am I also a shariaphobe”? because they are foolling everyone into believing they are just a religion….Anyone who doesn’t know that Sharia is a mandate under islam is uneducated.

It is no wonder they are so hell bent on world domination, Sharia law has a place for all of us infidels and once they impose it life will be great for the average muslim and terrible for everyone else.

I’m a canadian, but i love America; and when CAIR spends memorial day making me wonder why the heck they are even in America, that is incitement; however I’m not a savage……maybe that is the answer, resorting to violence(sarcasm)……..then the media will go after Cair for inciting me; or would I require the special elevated muslim status for that.

Really it is astonishing, all of it. The answer must be to revoke this religion status from islam….as Pam was saying. “this is political”.

Pam is a true warrior who is not afraid of sharia, and she keeps her cool very well, when dealing with cowardly morons….Thank you for devoting yourself to this very noble cause.

we need to stop calling them muslims, they are mohomedans; and we must stop calling it islam. It’s true name as far as any non-mohomedan is concerned is sharia.

“…Cuomo countered, “And you don’t see that as what you’re doing with the Prophet
Muhammad?” ”

By that, Cuomo has proven himself a dhimmi.
Would he ever – ever – say, “…what you’re doing with the Savior, Jesus Christ?”

Well, I guess he might,…after the sun rises in the west….

The Quran doesn’t care if it has offended me….
Until I am finally silenced by Sharia henchmen i will continue to despise the Quran and totally distrust anyone who promotes that book which says I must burn in a fire simply because I disagree with it’s author.

Quran is a centre of pestilence and a vile piece of filth.

My God Pam, you really gave it to him. I watched a second time and thought WOW!!You washed the floor with that guy. If not for you, we’d have nobody (or very few) to combat this sharia enforcement. You’re the best.
