Texas Cartoon Jihadist’s Imam Warned Members to ‘Be Careful’ of FBI Informant

32

Is law enforcement investigating this mosque? Or are they just taking the imam’s word for it that these jihadis didn’t learn any of their lust for violence and hatred at that mosque? Is the FBI too busy conducting “outreach” at this mosque to look into what is being taught there?

“Texas Shooter’s Imam Warned Members to ‘Be Careful’ of FBI Informant,” by Lee Stranahan, Breitbart, May 7, 2015 (thanks to Christian):

Story continues below advertisement

The imam of the Phoenix, Arizona, mosque attended by Texas terror shooter Elton Simpson gathered members years ago to warn them about a potential danger in their midst–but it was not Simpson he warned them about. According to a recent New York Times article, the imam warned others in the mosque that he was concerned that an FBI informant had infiltrated the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix.

Imam Mahmoud Sulaiman was correct: Dabla Deng was an FBI informant who had been assigned to gather information on Elton Simpson, who had raised concerns through his connection to a convicted terror supporter.

The Times makes clear that the Phoenix mosque was more concerned with the FBI than a potential terrorist:

At the mosque they both attended, the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix, Mr. Deng stood out. Usama Shami, president of the mosque, said the young Sudanese man came to his attention because he did not seem to care much about Islam. He asked few questions about Islamic rituals and rarely engaged with others.

“He claimed to be a convert,” said Mr. Shami, an engineer of Palestinian heritage, “but he wasn’t interested in learning the faith, and that raised our suspicions.”

….

Mr. Sulaiman called Mr. Shami and other members of the mosque and warned them to be careful around Mr. Deng, saying he was probably an informant and out to get someone, Mr. Shami recalled.

The Times provides no explanation regarding why the imam would warn others at the mosque to “be careful” around an FBI informant.

Instead, the article notes that “many Muslims” oppose common law enforcement techniques like informants to combat terrorism:

In case after case, given the perplexing task of sorting out the talkers from the real terrorists, the FBI has relied on informants to tease out a suspect’s intentions. It is a tactic that many Muslims sharply criticize, saying it divides the community and undermines trust in law enforcement.

The Times claims the case against Simpson “fizzled.” The main evidence was Deng’s recorded conversations where Simpson talked about traveling to Somalia to fight with al-Shabaab. Ultimately, Simpson was convicted of lying to the FBI, but not of any terror-related crimes. The FBI also failed to place him on a no-fly list.

Even after the attempted mass murder on Sunday, officials at the Arizona mosque that both killers attended still blamed the FBI and oppose the use of informants:

When mosque leaders learned that Mr. Simpson had not been sent to prison, they figured that “the FBI had done their due diligence, that they thought he was fine and wasn’t a danger to our society,” Mr. Shami said. In retrospect, he said, “They probably were mistaken.”

But even after Sunday’s shootout, which underscored the urgency of FBI efforts to identify dangerous people in the community, mosque leaders have not changed their opposition to the use of informants like Mr. Deng.

The article closes with a story about mosque President Usama Shami calling other recent attempts to use informants as “disappointing” and asking about the FBI: “If they think there’s someone else at the mosque who is a potential threat, why not work with us?” Of course, such cooperation would make the mosque itself an informant.

The Times report echoes a story of Simpson’s conviction published in a local Arizona publication, the Arizona Muslim Voice, which stated that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) “sent out media alerts to advise our community to use caution when speaking with the FBI.” They did not send similar alerts warning of potential terrorists infiltrating the mosque.

Colin Powell (former Secretary of State)
Once said the US, “was going to pull terrorism up by the roots” (my paraphrase).

That made great sense to me at that time. It makes even more sense to me now, having read about obscure Islamic terrorist cells in Switzerland, France, and elsewhere. I see that they are all interconnected, the same names come up again and again, they know each other, they share contact lists, they visit each other, visit the same websites, take guidance from the same mosques, etc., etc., ad nauseam.

Ad nauseam, because reading about these connections makes it clear that one person with a computer and an internet connection could make a huge dent in the terrorist underground, just by surfing Facebook.

It’s like the roots of raspberry bushes. Find a root and start pulling, and you will eventually uproot the whole raspberry patch.

So why do law enforcement authorities do so little?

Just an example. The mosque in Brmen, Germany, is radical, is locate near wher the Germanwings co-pilot was taking his flight training. In December 2014, German authroties closed the mosque, and few months later the co-pilot crahed the plane.

Bremen is not fra from Hamburg, where another radicla mosques was invivle with some o of the hijackers on 9/11. Muhammad Atta was one. There are links between the Brmen and Hamberg mosques. And lnks with mosques in Denmark. Switzelan has many new Muslim immigrants, and the country recently banned minartess, the towers that call muslims to prayer. Mslim terrorists in Switzerland communicate with Frenc he trrosits, and both groupds are often involved with the law. Evethying form petty theft and cridt card fraud to smuggling explosives.

The mosque in Virgian is radicla, and connected to many US terrorists, and connected to the radical mosque in Boston that helped the Marathon bombers.

An American woman who spke arabic, ahving been previously married to an Arab Muslim, blogged about her life when she returned to the US. She said she oculd wrap herself up and easily pas into nay US mosque. She usnderstood waht was said there. Seh said almost ll the mosques she vistied that way were strongly anti-American, pro Islm, and very sympatheic to terrorism.

Is it really that hard to find these people? The authorities can’t check the contact list on the suspect’s cell phone or computer? They can’t arrest, deport, put on supervised probation, etc?

When their church leaders warn their followers that they should avoid cooperating with reasonable efforts to ferret out those (terrorists) who would commit murder and mayhem because of their inane acceptance of it being consistent with their teachings in their “Book,” we must come to the conclusion that this conduct is un-American. When I see them condone and accept as righteous the conduct of the two who attempted to commit havoc in Garland, Texas, I wretch with anger. When I see the media cowardly blame the victims of the Garland convention, as the wrongdoer, I seethe. When I watch our leaders negotiate with enemies who have sworn to destroy us, I am upset to a degree that I am having difficulty expressing my consternation. The fact that anyone, whether in Islamic society or otherwise, would attempt to protect anyone from investigation of their extremist conduct is mind boggling to me. No group has the right, under any circumstances, to place themselves between investigations into terrorist activity and the practicing terrorists. To do so, from my perspective, is treason, and these people then need to be deported. Although I recognize that legislation exists making it a crime to actively interfere with legitimate criminal investigations, the consequences of such conduct does not provide sufficient penalties for doing so. Congress should pass appropriate constitutional legislation making such conduct criminal, resulting, on conviction, to expulsion from this country.

“those (terrorists) who would commit murder and mayhem because of their inane acceptance of it being consistent with their teachings in their “Book””.

The teachings in their Book do indeed instruct murder:

“Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them” Koran 9:5, part of Islamic law. That was the chapter, the “Sura at-Tawba”, cited by the Woolwich soldier killer, “We are forced by the Koran in Sura at-Tawba…”

Acceptance of the teachings in the Book is not inane: it is required.

“It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision:”
Koran 33:36, part of Islamic law.

Islam is not Pick Your Own: There is no freedom of conscience in Islam.

I have read their book, and I recognize that what has been written therein is construable as being satanic and very dangerous as you say, but I have to believe that there are people who practice their faith who reject those satanic writings and follow the concepts of good morality and humanity in how they live their lives. I recognize that what is ascribed to their so-called prophet is conduct that clearly could not be considered consistent with the very basic understanding of what religion is supposed to teach its followers. I recognize that being an Islamic follower places these people of good morality and humanity in a very precarious situation , as extremists would consider them apostates, but I know Islamic followers here who are tolerant and very humane and have good moral judgment, something that the extremists do not have. I can only hope that someday soon, those who recognize that there is no justification for them to accept the insanity of their so-called religion will help forge the way to a more peace loving, tolerant, respect for life people.

Mosques are hotbeds of ignorance, bigotry, and aggression.

Can any sane person truly think, that despite all the evidence we have for jihad, that somehow magically these mosques play no part in the drama? and that within their walls lay only exemplary examples of brotherly love? and that they are totally immune from the horrors caused by their faith, the same faith that is taught in these mosques?

No, these mosques are the backbone of islamic tyranny. They are foci around which their entire religious and social construct is built. Their role may not be obvious to the casual observer, but they have stealth on their side. Their agenda need not be too openly discussed, they’ve had 1400 years to perfect it. Nods and winks replace fiery speeches, subtle agreements are in lieu of vulgar plans, seditious hopes and dreams waft through the air like incense and scented candles. 9/11–let’s cheer! Ooops, we didn’t mean it. Am I paranoid? I don’t think so. The world bears too many islamic scars for that conclusion. These mosques must play a role in jihad development. It would be a stupendous miracle if the jihad horrors their ideology causes bore no attachment to the very place it is taught, worshiped, and supported–the MOSQUE.

Ban mosques, they are the seeds of our destruction.

Yes, that would be an incredible feat especially with all the profiling arguments. I think they need to not even look at mosques but at the library amongst all the elderly patrons. LOL

The moderates who are offended (not the islamists) are free to be like the rest of us Americans who are offended by something we don’t like. Remark about it, don’t participate in it and/or post a comment or two about it and get on with our lives. If terrorism keeps happening though over events like a cartoon show over a religious icon its a sure sign them there woods has some bears on the loose; in this case, islamists. I suspect with the polls of the majority of muslims there will be a lot of bears out there!

This is precisely my point, they refuse to be part of the solution, yet scream obscenities at those who are trying to solve the issue. I guarantee not one lefty will even attempt to answer my above question, but rather will attack me as an islamaphobe, or racist or some other derogatory remark, yet remain silent on the issue.

You do have a good point, Infidel-01. You know, my thinking goes like this.

– Intimidation by killing cartoonists and issuing deaththreats WORKS! Example; South Park ridicules all religions EXCEPT Islam. Sensitive reactions to Islam are much more avoided then those to other religions.

– If it works, who prophits? Islam, so that it can win, do well.
– Since all or most Muslims love Islam above all else, to me it means they prophit too!!! From the intimidation and adaptation by the intimidated mentioned above and the resulting winning of Islam.

– If that IS true, then the defiance shown by Pamela, preferably in response to EACH killing, threathening, intimidating act by so-called extremist Muslims, one-on-one will

teach the violent Muslims that “intimidation through violence does not pay”.

And perhaps THAT or ONLY THAT will persuade the “moderate, normal Muslims” to much more clearly and effectively distinquish themselves from these
“extremist Muslims” and side much more with Democratic Nations and citizens.

We should say to “moderate Muslims”: Negate effectively that unfair advantage that “extremist Muslims”create for Islam AND you. Don’t try to let Islam win through false play.

What do you think?

I think for the most part you have pretty much nailed the situation. By now, moderate muslims, ie: those who do not wish to enslave or kill all non muslims, should see that there is enough people to help them stand up to those groups who wish to enslave the entire planet. Whilst they chose to remain silent, then I am afraid the become part of the problem because, the remain apart from the groups that are finding solutions.

Excellent point! Man your smart! You know demsci we have a lot of chicken sh*t cowards out there in media land and they are not doing anyone any favors by siding with the Islamist on the cartoon event! I will tell you that the God that Pamela worships is head over heals far more powerful than the god Muslims worship! If you think about it fear and intimidation are there most powerful weapon. In the bible it states that love has no fear. We must band together to fight this great evil that is being put on OUR LAND WITHOUT OUR APPROVAL!!! My family has been here in the U. S. for 6 generations at least! I take great offense when someone comes into this country like yesterday and think they have some special religious right to tell me what I can and cannot do!!!

BOZO INTEL
From Debkafile:
http://www.debka.com/article/24580/

For the past two years, Simpson and Soofi have been running posts and images on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram extolling the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) and all its works, threatening American Christians with revenge and declaring that terrorist attacks were coming.

Shortly before the Dallas event opened, an explicit threat to mete out punishment to those insulting the Prophet Mohammad in Texas, like in Denmark and Paris, appeared on a Twitter account (since de-activated) belonging to AbuHussainAlBritani, known to security services as an ISIS platform.

Simpson had been known as an FBI target since 2010. Then, he made no secret of his plans to travel to Somalia, take advanced studies in Islam and die as a martyr. He was arrested , convicted only of making a false statement to the forces of the law and released on probation. After that, a double agent persuaded him to talk for hundreds of hours on tape, candidly admitting that he intended one day in the future to take part in a deadly terrorist operation.

Yet Simpson was not detained, or even placed under extra surveillance.
