“Pamela Geller tested the First Amendment and America failed”

Excellent editorial over at Israel National News, read it:

“Pamela Geller’s War On Radical Islam And Everybody Else”, By Jack Engelhard, Israel National News, May 5, 2015

Pamela Geller tested the First Amendment and America failed.

Story continues below advertisement

Have you hugged a Jihadist today? Everybody else has. Have you trashed Pamela Geller this morning? Welcome to the club.

Pamela Geller Free speech

Pamela Geller made a mistake. She tested the First Amendment and the First Amendment lost.

This fighter for Israel, this battler against Radical Islam can seem to find no friends after what she did.

She tried to prove that America is not France, where 11 were murdered by Islamists for printing Mohammad cartoons, nor are we the Netherlands, where Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s partner, Director Theo van Gogh was murdered for his documentary Submission, which exposed Islamist mistreatment of women.

This cannot happen in America, assumed Miss Geller, here in the land of the free, home of the brave, and she was wrong.

It can happen here, and it did…in part.

Together with Robert Spencer, Geller organized a Mohammad Cartoon Contest in Garland, Texas; obviously as a means to illustrate that America will not be intimidated. Two apparent Jihadists (with possible links to ISIS) tried to storm the event, but were killed by local police.

After that came the denunciations. No, not against the Islamic fanatics. But against Geller.

From all across the Liberal dials, plus The New York Times, came blasts of outrage against Geller for being “provocative” and “asking for trouble.”

But Conservatives? They too piled on. Donald Trump, Bill O’Reilly, Bill Donohue of the Catholic League, Don Imus – all those and others want her scalp.

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum was especially harsh during this morning’s interview with Geller.

Better, they allege, if Geller would hush up and forget the First Amendment. Safer, they suggest, if we submit and become a nation of wimps.

There was a time, among journalists especially, when Americans were unafraid and quick to speak their minds.
Imus, legendary as a shock jock and as a man who fearlessly speaks his mind, was astonishingly disapproving of Geller, and fearful.

“When you inflame people,” he said, “what else can you expect?”

Well, Don, you can expect a touch of support for a woman who champions free speech.

Besides, how can you inflame people, these Jihadists, who are always on fire anyway?

Robert Spencer writes bestsellers and runs the Jihad Watch website to reveal outrages committed in the name of Islam. Ditto Geller who refuses to be stopped in support of Israel and in exposing the encroachment of Islamic Extremism. They are brave. Are they the last of the brave? Read this.

There was a time, among journalists especially, when Americans were unafraid and quick to speak their minds. We saw this from last week’s PBS program about Vietnam, which featured reporters going after LBJ and Nixon with a vengeance. Compare that to today’s reporters who remain putty in the hands of Obama.

Seems that we have trained ourselves to be compliant, passive, easily cowed and entirely too close to being cowards.

If freedom of speech is not worth fighting for – what will we give up next?

Jack Engelhard writes a regular column for Arutz Sheva. The new thriller from the New York-based novelist, The Bathsheba Deadline, a heroic editor’s singlehanded war on terror and against media bias. Engelhard wrote the int’l bestseller Indecent Proposal that was translated into more than 22 languages and turned into a Paramount motion picture starring Robert Redford and Demi Moore. O’Reilly is rampaging against you again. He once again demonstrates he has no understanding of what jihad is or is trying to accomplish. Jihad is the struggle in Allah’s cause to establish sharia and to make Islam the only religion. Terrorism is one critical component of jihad to “strike terror in the hearts of the unbelievers.”

But with people like O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham submitting to sharia restrictions on our freedoms it may not be necessary for the jihadists to strike terror any more. The O’Reilly-Ingraham peace through surrender strategy is fascinating. But I suspect that in the long run it will only lead to centuries more suffering.

When Andropov was head of the KGB in the early 1970’s, he built strong links to Islamists, and trained them in terrorism, airline highjacking, bombing, etc. Every opponent Israel has faced has been armed with Soviet/Russian weapons.

If Islamists/Dems/Socialists seem similar, it’s because they are.

So the plan by our “betters” is not to rock the boat and upset all those angry islamists anymore than we have to. We’re supposed to tip toe around people who behead others for being infidels. Are they planning on converting any time soon? Got their orders in for prayer rugs and burqas? They seem to have no problem offending other religions, so why give islam a pass? We’re all targets no matter what we do, so I prefer to tell those islamists to stuff it.

Settling for just insults for those who behead is way too kind. There needs to be justice for those who lost their heads. When a religion makes it a crime to be an infidel, then those islamists who follow that religion should not be surprised when they get what’s coming to them.

A bunch of 7th century world domination wackos should not be allowed to hold the world hostage. I didn’t sign on to submit to their sharia and they won’t be scaring me or forcing me into it either.

Fromafar I agree with almost everything you’ve said. But I don’t see any Fox corporate directive on this. That notion give those corporate types way too much credit and suggests capabilities beyond their dreams. Occam’s razor suggests that OReilly and Ingraham are simply stating their own (stunningly wrong-headed) opinions. O’Reilly’s opinion is consistent with his constantly telling everybody what to do — his school-marm streak. And living in the N.E. bubble can wear you down.

All of this is not surprising. The left would like to eliminate their opposition too, if they could, so they are in simpatico with Islamists. No? They are fining and jailing Bakers and Pizza shop owners who oppose being force to comply with homosexual demands. They already kill babies, what’s a few anti-Islamists. So the MSM attitude was predictable. Could have told her that beforehand. Anyone (and there apparently are few of us) who has read the Koran and the Haddiths knew that the sociopathic murdering Islamists would attempt to murder Geller and Spencer. In fact, as they probably know, that is still not off the table just because they beat back two would-be murderers. I have no doubt that they are targets for the psychopathic Islamist from now on, like Salman Rushdie, etc. Pray that St. Michael protect them from all harm.

I guess if one follows Laura Ingraham’s logic about not criticizing Muslims because there are so many, then one should bash Jews because they are so few. Never mind the rightness of the Jewish cause in the Middle East. Middle Eastern policy by abject cowardice and timidity is evil and even impractical as anyone who knows the Middle Eastern Oriental mindset know. Oreilly and Ingraham view the Middle East through their occidental arrogance and are too lazy to try to understand the mindset of the people they are so desperate to appease.

What lie Pamela Geller said you’re talking about?

The public can draw, mock Jesus & mock Christianity big time but Christians will not become violent even they don’t like it.

If the public draw Muhammad only, Muslims become Barbaric Jihadist Homicidal and many People (Infidels/Kafirs) Dies.

Freedom Speech is a right for everyone and the “Issue” here is not the drawing of a person (which Journalist do with Politicians) or Pamela But the “Ideology of Islam” that clash with “Freedom of Speech” (All over the Middle-East, people are arrested & sentence to death (Sharia (God/Allah) Law) for even questioning their faith which result in either a death sentence for insulting the prophet or apostasy or being honor killed. If we don’t defend it, we will loose it very fast!

Muslims Follow The Example Of Their Prophet Who Himself Ordered The DEATHS Of Those Who Mocked Or Spoke Negatively About Him!
Here Are Three Examples In History With Sources:

#1) Name: Fartana
Date: During/after Conquest of Mecca (Jan 630 Ad)
Reason(s) for ordering or supporting killing: Kill Fartana (a slave
girl of Abdullah ibn Khatal), because she used to recite poems insulting Muhammad.
Result: Fartana is killed.
Notable primary sources: – Abu Dawud 14:2678, – Ibn Hisham, Ibn
Ishaq; – Sirat Rasul Allah AND – Ibn Sa’d, Kitab al-tabaqat al-kabir, Volume 2

#2) Name: Abu Rafi’ ibn Abi Al-Huqaiq
Date: December 624 Ad
Reason(s) for ordering or supporting killing: Kill Abu Rafi’ ibn
Abi Al-Huqaiq for mocking Muhammad with his poetry and for helping the troops of the Confederates by providing them with money and supplies.
Result: Abu Rafi assassinated.
Notable primary sources: – Sahih Bukhari 4:52:264, – Sahih Bukhari
5:59:370, – Sahih Bukhari 5:59:371, – Sahih Bukhari 5:59:372 and more. – Ibn Hisham, Ibn Ishaq; – Sirat Rasul Allah AND – Tabari, Volume 7, The foundation of the community.

#3) Name: Habbar Ibn al-Aswad bin Ka`b al-`Ansi
Date: During/after Conquest of Mecca (Jan 630)
Reason(s) for ordering or supporting killing: Kill Habbar ibn
al-Aswad because he said that he was a “liar”, he claimed he was a
Prophet.
Result: Habbar ibn al-Aswad killed.
Notable primary sources: – Sahih Bukhari 5:59:662, – Sahih Bukhari
4:56:817, – Ibn Hisham, Ibn Ishaq; – Sirat Rasul Allah, Tabari, Volume 9, The last years of the Prophet AND – Ibn Sa’d, Kitab al-tabaqat al-kabir, Volume 2

I had relatives that were murdered in a concentration camp in the 1940’s by the SS. I wonder sometimes what it was like before that happened. What were the signs in German society that might have given an indication of what was to come. Did people lose their courage to speak out against the coming darkness? Did they fall into line with the savages amongst them? I see Muslims as savages. As future tyrannical rulers if this capitulation continues. We need more Pamela Gellers, not less. GO PAM!

Things in Germany were a lot like they are in the US right now. The National Socialists (NAZIs) fostered constant street disturbances, to keep the country off balance. They exacerbated racism and ethnic hatred. They built their own internal armies that were loyal only to Hitler (Gestapo, SS, SA.) They expanded government to enormous size. They nationalized many businesses. They forced income leveling onto the people, with huge taxes and cradle-to grave ‘services’.

Many large businesses were permitted to remain, but the Nazis took control and told the businesses what to to produce, and in what quantity. Eugenics was everywhere. “Undesirable” people, like mental patients, the retarded, Gypsies, midgets, and dissidents were euthanized/liquidated in large numbers. Certain people were encouraged to reproduce, while large numbers of undesirables were sterilized.

They banned free speech and took total control of all media. Every single news item, art piece, magazine, or book was subject to censorship, and all messages in all media were required to promote the Nazi ideology.

And of course, they seized all guns owned by the populace.

Just as American politics is flooded with Islamic, Chinese, Russian, etc. money from corrupt regimes and terror networks abroad, (think Clinton Foundation, but also “Republicans” Grover Norquist and his sidekick Suhail Khan) Germany was infiltrated and influenced by the Soviets under Lenin, then Stalin.

Victor Suvorov has claimed in recent years that Hitler and his National Socialist German Workers’ Party at an early point in their history, when they were still unknowns, were chosen and funded by the Soviets to rise to power in Germany. The aim was to create a situation in which Germany would take out France, then disperse its own armies to other parts of the world (North Africa, Scandinavia), leaving all of Europe vulnerable to invasion by a colossal Soviet offensive army.

Hitler’s generals sussed out Stalin’s intentions, and invaded him before he could invade Europe. Stalin’s colossal army was destroyed or captured in the opening days of Fall Barbarossa, the Wehrmacht’s surprise counter-offensive eastwards that came just weeks before the scheduled Communist invasion westwards.

But, anyway, the Nazis and Communists were often allies, and Suvorov makes a serious case that the former were largely a creation of the latter.

Both took funding from the same Western banks, as well, just as many corrupt regimes today take money from the successors to the same banks.

Thanks for this. Very interesting. In my view, Stalin’s propaganda that the NAZIs were right-wing was one of the most damaging of political lies in the last century.

Conservatives want liberty, and oppose big government because ti threatens liberty. The extreme right wants even more liberty, and even less government (Libertarians).

So of course, conservatives, the right, and most Republicans oppose all forms of communism, Marxism, and fascism, because they all build huge governemnts that crush liberty.

DR – Note too the left-right inversion in describing grades of communists. Most would agree that communism is as far left as you can get; left of socialism. So the more communist, the more left, right? Wrong. Throughout the cold wear popular culture referred to the most devoted communists as “hard-liners,” “right-wing” and “conservative Soviets,” while reformers like Gorbachov, who were actually try to pull things rightward toward a more free market approach, were described as “more “liberal” and “trying to liberalize” things. “Liberalism” there consists of less state action and more free market and thus means the exact opposite of what it means here. And the furthest left can be called right-wing it we don’t like them, because that’s what right-wing means: people we don’t like.

Steve:
Interesting. These labels have been badly abused.

The Austrian economist Hayek famously discussed the bizarre and illogical claims among American leftists that they are ‘liberal’. They are not liberals, it was the framers of the Constitution who were the most famous liberals. They rejected royalist tyranny, and transferred power to the people. Liberals (Whigs) in the US and Britain rejected the devine rights of kings (e.g., John Locke, The Framers, Edmund Burke). Conservatives (Tories) wanted all power to remain with the king (e.g., Hobbes, Leibniz, aka, Dr. Pangloss)

In France, the royalists sat on the right of the king (a driot), and the liberal anti-royalists sat on the left (a gauche).

In the US, socialists knew they were disliked, and they may have deliberately obfuscated their intentions with the labels liberal, and/or progressive. But the ruse eventually failed, and the majority of Americans now disapprove of ‘liberalism’.

So American conservatives aren’t conservatives, they are classical liberals, and liberals are not liberal. they are socialists. And socialism is akin to royalism, where one man holds the power. But I’m sure you knew all this.

I hope to see more open discussion about the vision, goals, and aspirations of American classical liberalism. Right now we are focused on our grievances against the socialists/Islamists. We need to also focus on our goals.

Read Suvorov’s 2 recent books, Icebreaker and The Chief Culprit.

The whole Japanese invasion of China takes on a whole new meaning, also, when you learn about Operation Snow and realize that Stalin used his puppets in the Washington, Tokyo, and Chungking administrations in a coordinated triple play to convince the Japanese to invade China and bomb Pearl Harbor. Faced with a two-front war to their east and west, Japan had no ability to look north and take on the USSR.

When Richard Sorge, Stalin’s German Communist spy in Tokyo, produced the evidence of the success of Operation Snow, Stalin immediately ordered an army of 1 million men from his border with China and Japanese-occupied mainland Asia to head west on the Trans-Siberian Railway. It arrived just in time to keep Hitler from taking Moscow.

But Stalin’s army to invade Europe was by far the largest army the world has ever seen. The reason we don’t hear more about it is that the Wehrmacht took most of it out in a few days because they struck first, achieved complete tactical surprise, and the Soviet army was only equipped, trained, and positioned for offense, not defense. (Chapters and chapters of supporting detail in Icebreaker.)

And because the existence of the army that was going to roll to the Atlantic is an embarrassment to the “received wisdom” that Communists are fluffy lovable fuzzballs that only practice self-defense when it comes to military matters — a belief that itself is an indictment of how influential Communists have been at all levels of our educational system.

Suvorov was an inspector in the Army of World Revolution and got to fly all over the country inspecting Soviet military formations before he joined the intelligence unit of the General Staff (GRU). He was posted for a while as a librarian in the central archive of the GRU, where he read a lot of concealed stuff that convinced him the traditional account was for propaganda purposes only. Then he got a foreign posting as a spy in Austria and eventually made his way over to the Brits.

Since then he has been in the West writing books about his experiences over there and working as a historian putting info available in Western libraries together with stuff he knows from working over there. He’s the only person who has been in the right places at the right times to figure it all out. Plus he is a genius with a photographic memory and a real flair for writing prose with logic like a jackhammer combined with sly, biting Russian wit. If you’re interested in this stuff, you won’t be able to put his books down.

In formerly Soviet Bloc Eastern Europe his theories are now the accepted wisdom on the whys of the war.

For a high level view of how all this fits together on the American end, Diana West’s book American Betrayal is dynamite, and another book you won’t be able to put down. She is a genius in her own way, and has had absolute integrity in drawing conclusions where the data lead instead of where the her conclusions fit preexisting understanding and make everybody comfortable..

The only major thing she has left out so far is the financial aspect, where the same banks in New York that created the Federal Reserve worked with banks in London, Paris, Basel, etc. to finance the Czars, Kerensky’s republic, the Bolsheviks, the Nazis, etc.

Lest the newly-minted Quislings forget, the Paris and Texas attacks didn’t happen in a vacuum. Muslims recently hacked a prominent American writer/free speech activist to death at book fair using cleavers

For their next act of craven appeasement, they can sneer at a public screening of Lara Logan for her “provocative” decision to forgo donning the hijab before her public rape in Cairo…all while protecting her attackers by blurring their identities. Victim blaming… so courageous!

Must have hit a nerve. Actually Pamela supports Muslim women by giving them safe houses to avoid honor killings. She’s also a brave advocate for Secular Islam and their courageous St. Petersburg Declaration. But you wouldn’t know any of that because you’re an ignorant know-nothing parrot.

Here we see another specimen of today’s Quislings who don’t confront real evil; and hate those who do. You can see this on almost any school playground. The kid who confronts the school bully is often resented more than the bully. Whether out of guilt over their own cowardice or out of fear that the one who confronted the bully will provoke the bully to lash out more, those who refuse to confront the bully often resent the one who does.

Today, Leftist-Quislings express that cowardly contempt for those of us who take a hard line with Islamo-supremacists. It’s ever our fault for provoking these bullies. Better to remain supine while the sharia law advocates satisfy themselves beheading women and children; throwing gays from rooftops; executing infidels from Mumbai to OZ to Oklahoma.

The Quisling answer: Just attack patriotic Americans as “racists, fascists, Islamophobes, xenophobes, neanderthals, bigots” (the whole Star Wars cantina of Quisling boogeymen)… and hope the crocs eat them last.

There’s a word for that: Cowardice.

Own it, Quislings.

I’m pushing 80. Many years ago while in grade school, my folks moved and I attended a new school. I was all of 10 years old. A class bully picked on me my first day of school and I beat the tar out of him. Recently my grandson had a bully picking on him. I told him my experience — my daughter chastised me saying “wrong answer grandpa”….I told her if kids dont stand up to a bully there is NO HOPE for this country. Sadly, I see more and more folks in this land with no backbone.

Your correct answer is contrary to public school teachings and the liberal mindset. Unfortunately, I find it in my family too. When confronted by the bully, we should now beg him not to hurt us. And try to reason with him. I`ll be 69 soon.

If you’re referring to the FBI, they were part of the problem. They knew a lot about the shooters in advance, but took no decisive action. The Texas authorities strongly disagreed.

Excellent point. To be fair, their presence may have ben overlooked by the media, since the shooting absorbed everyone’s attention. But if they were there, they were probably not numerous. And of course the implication is that the Muslims who would be likely to to protest at such an event were aware that violence was likely.

In the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen several years ago, the Yemeni dock workers all disappeared just before the explosives-laden boat rammed the side of the Cole. The dock workers obviously knew what was about to happen.

Good question. Maybe they were there, and the shootings drew the media’s attention away from them. But if they were there, their numbers were small. There had been a lot of threats and other trouble signs on the Internet and social media, just prior to the incident.

In the bombing of the USS Cole in a harbor in Yemen a few years ago, the Yemeni dockworkers all disappeared just before the explosives-laden boat hit the side of the Cole. They knew what was about to happen.

“When you inflame people,” he said, “what else can you expect?”

What can I expect..??

I expect that … just as Christians had to choke down “piss Christ”…
the muslims would have to choke down Mo being depicted.

The Christians showed the nation what free speech looks like. “Donald Trump, Bill O’Reilly, Bill Donohue of the Catholic League, Don Imus – all those and others ” have just dishonored that. Their massive egos are choking off their brains obviously.

I respect and support Geller. I pray for her.. and for Israel. The right, especially.. needs her strident anti islamic voice to counter the message of the left… that islam is the religion of peace.

Most muslims live in 3rd world countries that are islamic. They are born into sharia law. They do what they are told by their imans. Many have never read the koran. They are just muslim.

800,000 of 1.4 billion of them are illiterate… so have never actually read the koran for themselves. It’s processed through the imans. And I have no doubt the imans will instruct the muslims to rejoice when the jihad takes the world.

To be more technically correct then… 25% of islam is jihadist… 50 % of islam is sitting there waiting to be told what to do… and 25% is spread through the civilized world.. secretly cheering for islam.. while lying about being peaceful.

So.. you go!!! Pamela. My heart is with you.

May Christ keep you safe.

How do you separate Sharia from Islam again?

Fromafar
Fromafar
Reply to  IzlamIsTyranny

Well, herein lies the genius of the evil ideology…..
Is Islam a political movement? yes
Is Islam a religion? yes
The Quran is a document for a complete way of life.
It has totalitarian ideology from cover to cover (especially the later writings).
So how does one separate the Political from the Religion?

Here’s the answer….We can’t, they (the Muslims) either will or they won’t.

Modernized people who practice Islam, often make the choice to not take the book to it’s obvious literal conclusion.
How many? Who really knows?
But a great many do. Do they believe and support the Fundementalists who use the evil ideology in the name of Religion? To some extent yes and to some no.

So the strict adherents to Sharia are indeed Fundamentalist Islamists.

Those who do accept the laws of the land they live in (despite the purism of Islam saying they should not) are practitioners of Islam, but not necessarily adherents to Sharia.

It’s a fine line and truly shows the brilliance of the system in regards to it’s ability to control it’s masses in the guise of religion.
Whose to say who is a Fundamentalist? Surely all the bad guy groups in the Middle East are, but what about the rest?

Again…this is the delicate balance we must watch to avoid the cry of Islamophobe and bigot.

I will agree….it’ ain’t easy.

Well said. The Quran to them is literally the word of their God, as recited by his angel, in Arabic, to their prophet, who wrote it down word for word. Those very words. It cannot be improved upon, re-written or reformed. All Muslims believe this. So if it says Muslims must wage jihad, they must. If it says to throw homosexuals off the highest building in town, or if in the suburbs to push over a stone wall on them, they must. What we like to think of as Moderate Muslims treat much of the Quran as Christians treat the Old Testament. But those Moderate Muslims cannot criticize their brethren for doing exactly what their scripture orders them to do.

The funny thing is that this is nothing new. They have not changed. Rather, they are just professing openly that which they have always believed but kept quiet for a while to avoid antagonizing the West. The West’s pre-emptive surrender just emboldens them.

Barack Obama and John Kerry is what’s up with that.
Hillary would be no different. She was the first American politician as FLOTUS to suggest a two state delusion way back in 1992.

The only answer is not if, but when Israel will finally realize they must annex the West Bank. If there is a Republican in the White House, I predict it will be between 2017-2020. The Israeli’s will have to wait out the clock on BHO. If he tries to force a Palestinian State at the UN, it may happen sooner.

It will take a few generations to quell the hate (something about not teaching 3 yr olds to be martyrs and wear suicide belts), but there is no other answer.

The “Two State Delusion” is just that. The Palestinians don’t want a State. If they did they could have had one 15 years ago.

What they want is a “base of operations” from which to continue the Jihad under the step by step plan that Yasser Arafat came up with in 1974.
Get whatever we can, he said and from there, we’ll carry on the Jihad till Israel is wiped from the Earth.
They’ve got Gaza….now it’s time to say Never Again!

Islamophobia is a state of mind found in Liberals/RINO’s who rabidly fear that if you criticize Islam or it’s prophet the Muslims will come and kill you.

Liberals therefore “project” their own Islamophobia on anyone who supports free speech in the belief that suppression of free speech concerning Islam will mitigate and appease Islamic hostility directed at all Liberals.

Even at the time of 911 Americans and Canadians felt no fear of Islamic reprisal should anyone make a disparaging remark concerning Islam or it’s prophet. We know thngs became different for everyone after 911. How do Canadians and Americans feel 14 years later? How is that for

In support of Pamela:

My sometime email pal Pamela now has the distinction of being the first high profile anti-jihad fighter/blogger in the West to be specifically fingered by ISIS for the trigger twitch of their assassins. CNN and other news sources like this one, do their bit for ISIS by broadcasting the same old slander about her and her organization, calling her the leader of a ‘hate group’ that ‘hates Muslims’.

Damned fools! Idiots. Are they really that stupid or, as liberals, are they really all that used to playing fast and loose with the truth? Yes, you bet. And the truth is that Pamela has numerous Muslim friends and allies in the anti-jihad fight who do know the truth of how you can hate a person’s damn fool religion (Islam) without hating the person who is made victim, dupe and bond slave to it (the Muslim).

Get your heads screwed on straight and recognize the veritable Jewish Wonder Woman when you see her, ya bunch of ditsy and/or dizzy nebbishes. Yeah! And stop making a weapon of mass destruction from the grimy, slimy muck of your own cowardice. She makes you look and feel like the quislings ya are, and you don’t like it.
