Dennis Prager: “Why Pamela Geller may be the most hated person in America right now”

191

I briefly explain (with the able arguments of philosopher Ayn Rand) the left’s hatred of the good for being the good. Dennis Prager does a whole column on it: “Why Pamela Geller is Hated.”

ON FREE SPEECH
“Why Pamela Geller is hated,” By Dennis Prager,
Dennis Prager has 3 reasons woman is currently ‘the left’s chief villain’

Pamela Geller – the woman whose group, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, organized the Muhammad cartoon drawing contest in Garland, Texas – may be the most hated person in America right now. She is certainly the left’s chief villain. And, sad to say, though few conservatives hate her, more than a few have condemned her.

Story continues below advertisement

The question is why?

Here are three reasons.

Reason One: The left hates those who confront evil

The first and most important reason is a rule of life that I wrote about in a recent column explaining the left’s hatred for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

Those who don’t fight evil hate those who do.

This is a defining characteristic of the American left. That is why the left loathed President Ronald Reagan for labeling the Soviet Union an “evil empire”: He judged and confronted communism, the greatest evil in the world after World War II.

Today, the world’s greatest evil is Islamism (the movement to impose Islam and its Shariah on society). Just as the left loathed anti-Communists, it loathes anti-Islamists, chief among whom is Netanyahu, the prime minister of the country that the Islamists most hate, the country that most confronts violent Islam – and not coincidentally the country the international left most hates.

But the left hates anti-Islamists generally, not just Netanyahu. They have successfully demonized anti-Islamists and even critics of Islam as “Islamophobes,” meaning anti-Muslim “bigots” and “haters.” Pamela Geller is now chief among them.

Reason Two: Moral confusion

Geller and her group are widely labeled as “haters” and “Islamophobes” for caricaturing Muhammad. But the highly successful producers of the hit Broadway show that mocks Mormonism, “The Book of Mormon,” are not labeled “haters,” let alone “Mormonphobes.” Similarly, the “artist” who created “Pi– Christ,” the infamous photograph of a crucifix in a jar of his urine, is also not labeled a hater or a “Christianophobe.”

Why is that? Because neither Christianity nor Mormonism produces evil that needs to be fought. The Muslim world, however, is producing tens of thousands of murderers and millions more sympathizers; and those who criticize Islam and confront Islamism are hated because those who don’t fight evil hate those who do.

Another example of moral confusion is that Geller is accused of “provoking” Islamists to murder people. Even some conservatives have taken this position.

To best show this poorly reasoned logic, let’s imagine that some Mormons murdered members of the audience and some of the actors at a performance of “The Book of Mormon.” Who do you think the New York Times editorial page would have blamed – the producers of the show that mocked Mormonism (for “provoking” the murderers) or the Mormon murderers? The murderers, of course. Again, imagine that some Christians had murdered museum curators at whose museums “Pi– Christ” had been displayed. Would the Times editorial page have blamed the “artist,” Andres Serrano, and the museum curators (for “provoking” the Christian murderers) or the Christian murderers?

Reason Three: Lack of courage

America calls itself, in the final words of the National Anthem, “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” This description no longer applies – not only to the left-wing intellectual and media elite but also to the increasingly large segment of the American people that the left has influenced. Many Americans no longer cherish freedom as Americans always have and too many exhibit little courage.

Contrast American reactions to Pamela Geller with European reactions to Charlie Hebdo. After Islamists murdered 12 editors and writers of the Charlie Hebdo staff, millions of French citizens gathered to protest the murders and announce “Je suis Charlie.” There were very few French voices blaming Charlie Hebdo for “provoking” the murderers, or for being “haters.” And, it is worth noting, some of the caricatures of Muhammad published in the French magazine were truly obscene – unlike the caricatures produced by Pamela Geller’s contest which, so far as I’ve seen, were only caricatures and cartoons.

Likewise the month after the Charlie murders, courageous Danes organized a public event called “Art, blasphemy and the freedom of expression” to show support for Charlie Hebdo and for freedom of speech. That “provoked” an Islamist to murder two people and wound five police officers that day and the next. But Danes supported the organizers of the event.

And a German newspaper was firebombed after republishing some of the Charlie Hebdo Muhammad cartoons.

But in America, there were no comparable demonstrations on behalf of Pamela Geller. Instead, there were widespread condemnations. The New York Times editorial page even denied that her cartoon contest was done on behalf of freedom of speech. And hundreds of left-wing members of PEN, the worldwide writers’ organization dedicated to freedom of speech, vehemently protested the decision of the American chapter of PEN to give its Freedom of Expression Courage Award to Charlie Hebdo.

This combination – of the steep moral decline of the American left; the inability of too many Americans to reason morally; and the greater value increasingly placed on protecting (certain) people’s feelings than on protecting freedom of speech – is why a woman who did nothing more than organize a contest to draw cartoons of Muhammad may be the most reviled American alive.

David fought Goliath.

Pamela Geller fights the Shariamonster – which makes Goliath look like a butterfly.

“Prophet” Muhammad’s Shariamonster, also known as “Islam,” wants to decapitate our freedom of speech. Muhammad himself began assassinating his critics soon after winning his first victory, at the Battle of Badr – and Muhammad’s Shariamonster has never ceased to follow his murderous “Excellent Example.” Say “NO” To Muhammad’s Shariamonster, and say “NO” to Islam!

I agree, she is a hero. Churchill was also hated by the left in the 1930s for speaking clearly about Hitler and the rise of the Nazis. At the time, the Left was literally in bed with the mass-murderer Josef Stalin, and while the Soviets and the Nazis were allied, the Left supported both the Communists and the Nazis (national socialists). The Left did not abandon their support of the Nazis until Hitler sent his armies against the Soviet Union.

Prior to the holocaust people that saw the writing on the wall and tried to warn others to leave Germany were considered “extremists” and we see the same thing happening today.

The so called extremists got out with their lives but sadly the rest did not.

Better to be considered an extremist and be extremely right.

Featuring a crocodile it also reminded me of what Winston Churchill said of ‘appeasers’ – “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” In regard to Islam this pretty much sums up how the pitiful, cowardly West and it shocking cowardly and politically correct media conduct themselves. Not all Jews thought people warning them to leave Germany in the early thirties were extremists but the sad fact was they had no where to go. Imagine if someone told you and your family today that you’d better pack up and leave for another country within a week- could you do it? Not many could- Jews weren’t wanted around the world in those days and even Canada turned boat loads of them away. Today the fight is very different, in these dark days our country is being invaded and our leaders are actually encouraging the invaders- an outright act of treason. If you disagree with the government your labelled a hater, a racist and even worse an Islamophobe (which makes utterly no sense to any person with an IQ of over 50). People utilize the word racist or bigot like a weapon and one that trumps all form of reason or intellect. America made it’s decision to elect a black President simply on the basis that he was black- it hasn’t turned out well for them and now they’re contemplating repeating the mistake by voting for Hillary simply because she’s a woman- how sad. They should contemplate voting on the basis of intellect but most possessing that are haters, racists, bigots and Islamophobes, at least by our trustful government standards that is. Pamela Geller is a fighter and doesn’t believe that running is an option- It’s quite refreshing to see courage of that magnitude these days.

What is the Jewish perspective on hate?

By Malkie Janowski

The Jewish perspective – as usual… – is twofold.

Love is at the center of many fundamental tenets of Judaism. Love of G‑d, love for one’s fellow Jew, love of the Torah, and a general love for G‑d’s creatures and His world. Yet just as G‑d has instructed that we love in great and abounding measure, He has also commanded that we hate.

G‑d created the world to comprise an equal balance of good and evil potential and power. There is no doubt that evil does exist today in its blackest form. Our job on this earth is to seek out the good and internalize it; and also to fight evil with all of our being. To fuel that struggle, we must hate the bad. In fact, that is one of the deepest signs of our love for good: just as one would hate a sickness threatening the life of their child.

For more on the Jewish perspective on hate, please see War, a wonderful article by Yanki Tauber.

Another reason why the left hates Pamela Geller is that Ms. Geller triggers the ingroup- outgroup conflict inducing fear. The left puts the collective before the individual. Wether it is socialism, communism, maoism or nazi ism (an abbreviation of national socialism), they all emphesize the importance of belonging to a group. The idea that some people (followers of islam) should be excluded is unacceptable to the left because then they too would be on their own and would have to fence for themselves.

Islam is very much like the left. It is a totalitarian ideology with a strong ingroup- outgroup conflict. The koran, the words of Allah himself as dictated to Mohammed by the angel Gabriel, goes on and on about three main themes. 1) Infidels go to hell and muslims go to heaven. If you disobey Allah you go to hell. 2) Allah is omnipotent. He created everything, sees everything, knows everything etc. & 3) Allah is good to muslims and without mercy to unbelievers. Unbelievers are guilty because they know better but will not listen. The believers should stay far away from the infidels.

I explain this in greater detail at my website here: http://members.ziggo.nl/iiat/

Pamela Geller triggers a fear reflex with her emphasis on the individual. It is an immature fear hence the rage and irrational behaviour which makes the left sacrifice fundamental rights like free speech. Indeed they are not free nor brave.

I give her big kudo’s for standing up and telling the truth. I have always been a firm believer that America is wonderful melting pot of people’s. That we could all get along and live in harmony under American law and way of life. After serving overseas in many countries and seeing the Islamic “faith” in action. I realized you can not cohabitate with muslims of Islamic faith, as they slowly but surely request changes to our way of life, then when they have a foothold of a community they will demand changes to our laws, our way of life to meet their wants and needs. It is liken to a case of Aids virus, it lay dormant for years and they one day it’s over and we are dying.

The fascist totalitarian cult of Islam is HOSTILE towards the Bill of Rights, and the rights and freedoms of others. Therefore Islam is ILLEGAL under US Law because it in many ways violates and is HOSTILE towards the US Constitution.
Sharia advocates are also very vocal about it. Under Sharia the US Constitution would be totally eradicated… which is all of course HIGHLY ILLEGAL. And anyone who aids and abets Islam is a terrorist, and a traitor to the Republic.

Though the USSR cracked, the USA never looked into stopping or at least hindering the cancer of communism here at home. Nixon and Reagan were so detested because they opposed communism. And now, the DNC has become an amalgamation of the CPUSA, SPLC, ACLU, OWS, SDS, etc. — a coalition of the Hate-America groups. And with the addition of CAIR and moslem terror gangs, the Hate-America coalition has adopted the worst of the world’s most evil “isms.”
The reds opposed Jews, and the koran is essentially a Jewish Eradication Doctrine — what a marriage : communism and islam. And so where the US (even the once patriotic Dems) used to say “never again!” — now the cries for “Again, again!” are growing.

Sultan Barry’s plans for the worldwide caliphate are coming together. He has weaked every aspect of the USA an d is slowly isolating Israel. Sad, there is hardly a whimper from the GOP congress.

If citizens do not wake up to the cancers of communism and islam, our freedoms will soon be gone. Most of our “elected” offcials have thrown in the towel (the white flag) — Pam and a few are all that remain on the front lines against utter evil and totalitarianism!

All of the cartoons displayed in Texas should be put on billboards, Times Square, and every media outlet in America. There are scum who burn our flag, scorn our Constitution, live off taxpayers and enjoy every freedom, who can do or say anything they please because they have that right because someone else paid for it. A price none of them will ever pay. The guiding principles of being an American state that you devote your loyalty to America. The Mooselums and the rest of the sub-human lowlife society should be rounded up and sent packing back to where they belong. This is America, “Land That I Love”, not some ghetto, dirt infested, cult culture third world cesspool. If you choose to live like that get out of our country. The inner cities were once beautiful thriving places where people were proud of their neighborhoods. Look at them today, what a disgrace. Hard working taxpaying people didn’t destroy these places. How is this for counter-jihad? I have ordered a T-shirt with the infamous “bombhead” Mohammed cartoon on the front. The company looks like it’s going to print the shirt, so I will wear it.

I will wear it not to offend (although I know it offends many Muslims and their quislings), but to demonstrate our freedom of expression in the USA. I would be glad to hear what others on this page think of this Mohammed shirt, what I can expect, etc.

Muslim “hurt feelings” are a scam.
Look at all those “Not in My Name” rallies about the Charlie Hebdo
murders, the mass beheading of Christians, the enslaved Yazidi girls, the
kidnapped Nigerian girls and so on and so on.
That’s right: there weren’t any.

The real issue is Control.
Fake “hurt feelings”, and force, gain control.

Traditional Americans have always been “hated” for supporting limits on power and trying to live Godly principles daily. People like Pamela feel like family because they RISK something for what they believe. There is no love without sacrifice. Do you RISK anything for your country? Me neither. This brave lady makes a guy feel like a brother because her actions show true love for our country and by extension, guys like me and that makes me feel protective. My circumstances only allow me to pray for her protection but I wouldn’t want to mess with the guardian angel God has assigned to her…… 😉

Yes, it is interesting, and disturbing. Although the US Evangelicals are not quite as uncivilized as ISIS, if they ever got power here I have no doubt that their brutality would start to rival that of the followers of the pedophile. Already, they have shown their disrespect for our Constitution by trying to enact their religious beliefs into law – all those BS “religious freedom” laws, when their rights to free speech and worship are already protected under our Constitution.

They are sexist, homophobic and many are racist, all with a patina of “hate the sin, love the sinner”. One thing for the Catholics, at least they have a modicum of intelligence, even though the current Pope seems to have lost his mind with his crush on Abbas. The Fundies mostly seem to have IQs that are slightly less than room temperature.

I can’t wait to go through that list! Not long ago there was a comment, I think on this site where a college student was asked to write a thesis on a brave woman. The student chose Joan of Arc. She got a zero because her professor claimed Jeanne D’Arc was a fictional character. How can rational people fight this illerate madness? By doing exactly what Pam Geller does every day, fight and fight until you are so dog tired you fall into bed with your clothes on. Then wake up, thank God for the gift of being alive and fight on for another day.

When I first discovered Pamela at the time of the Ground Zero mosque controversy, and knowing nothing about her background, I decided to check her writings, because though I agreed fully with her position on the mosque, I wanted to learn more about where she was coming from.

I had first become aware of the curse of Islam through Italian writer and journalist Oriana Fallaci. Her books and travails in raising awareness of this world threat, gave me the true perspective of what we were facing. Then, going through Pamela’s essays, I saw she had been also an admirer of Fallaci and other key players in the international anti-jihadist fight. After that I became her her fervent follower and admirer, sometime contributing in any small way I can to her cause. I’ve attended all events she organized in the DC area, and send words of support and praise for her courage and work.

I also share her essays through social media and electronic mail. Most of my friends and family hate me for it and consider me out of my mind (at least they did in the past. Maybe ISIS is changing their minds …)

Do you know what ISIS would be called should Reagan be president right now?

WASWAS

Somehow, I always thought Pamela would eventually be the face of the American fight against Islamic jihad.. And you are becoming just that. Our own Joan of Arc

Pamela, may God continue blessing you and protecting you. And please, take care.

The left are generally hypocrites.

They pretend to be tough but pick on targets they perceive as easy and don’t have the moral courage to pick on someone their own size.

They lack moral strenght and warmth and for a while they get by. Eventually though the left’s lack of courage and inability to do the right thing with catch up with them.

Good will triumph over evil even if it appears like its taking a long time.

In addition to all the reasons listed by Dennis Prager as to why Pamela Geller is the target of so much hatred, another reason is that a sizable percentage of the American public is in denial about the nature of the enemy.

Look what happened right after 9/11 when Pamela called attention to the plan to build a mosque at Ground Zero and correctly identified it as a victory mosque and even pointed out the boldness of the sponsors by naming it after the Cordoba Mosque in Spain, one of Islam’s early victory mosque’s. Despite 14 years of attacks and foiled attacks the denial persists. I live in the Boston area where this denial is on display day after day in the local media reporting on the Boston Marathon bombing and the subsequent trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Hmm.. So, when you’re hated by all the radical Leftists-aka Democrats, Islamist Muslim terrorists-aka Democrats, MSMedia-aka Democrats, Obama and his regime henchmen and wowen-aka Democrats, is that a bad thing? Having Radical Leftists, Islamo-Nazi’s spit on you, hate you, threaten you because you resolve to defeat them by exposing them with the truth, with their own words and actions is suposed to somehow be a terrible thing.. lol No, it is a badge of honor. Pamela Geller, I, and all patriotic Americans all wear their thate and disdain as a badge of honor !

We are ALL Pamela Geller, We are all Charlie Hebdo, We are ALL Jews and Christians who are now being brutalized and threatened with death by the evil that is Islamist Muslim Fundamentalist Jihadist Death Worshipping Terrorists, and their willing enablers, aiders, and abettors-Liberals/ Obama/ Democrats.
