University of Southampton Anti-Semitic Conference: Backed By NIF Donors Including Jewish Communal Fund, Ruth B. Ziegler, Alain Wertheimer (of Chanel)

13

In Stamford Hill in the UK, a mob of 20 thugs shouted “kill the Jews” as they attacked a synagogue in London this weekand as a follow-up, on April 17-19, 2015 the University of Southampton is holding a conference:

“International Law and the State of Israel: Legitimacy, Responsibility and Exceptionalism.”

The forum plans to host events where they shall discuss “..the legitimacy in International Law of the Jewish state of Israel.” They will also question the legality of the “foundation and protection of a state of such nature.” They are Jew-haters. They will also address the legitimacy of Israel’s existence.

Story continues below advertisement

As with many other Anti-Israel events, among the speakers is at least one organization funded by the New Israel Fund. Sawsan Zaher, Senior Attorney at Adalah is a speaker — Adalah maintains a “Discriminatory Laws in Israel” database on its website, and has supported “lawfarecases against Israeli officials. Zaher has stated that Israel’s discriminatory laws constitute “apartheid.”  This organization has received $1,673,634 in funding from the NIF between 2008-2013.

Others to speak alongside the New Israel Fund grantees: (as described by NGO Monitor):

“Oren Ben-Dror – Conference organizer and Southampton University professor Ben-Dror is a vocal anti-Israel activist who supports academic boycotts of Israeli universities and is a signatory to a 2007 “One-State Declaration” advocating for the total rejection of the Jewish state. He has accused Israel of carrying out a “well-planned ethnic cleansing” in 1948, and maintains that apartheid is “central to the essence” of Israel since its inception. In a 2009 article, Ben-Dror characterized Israel a “murderous state” that deliberately provokes a “continuing cycle of violence” so that Israelis “can unite behind their inability to examine their apartheid mentality.”

Ilan Pappe is an academic at the University of Exeter and author of The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine. He is a supporter of BDS and violence against Israel, stating: “I support Hamas in its resistance against the Israeli occupation.”

Nadim Rouhana: Nadim Rouhana , Professor of International Negotiation and Conflict Studies at Tufts University, is the founding director of Mada al-Carmel, an Israeli-Arab NGO involved in the “Haifa Declaration” (2007) which calls for a “change in the definition of the State of Israel from a Jewish state” and accuses Israel of “exploiting” the Holocaust “at the expense of the Palestinian people.” Rouhana opposes a two-state solution, stating that “recognition of Israel as a Jewish state” is “morally wrong.”  She has spoken during Israeli Apartheid Week.

Richard Falk is an international law professor at Princeton University and former UN official who has been widely denounced for antisemitism. He is well-known for of 9/11 conspiracy theories accusing Israel, as well as for blaming the Boston terrorist attack on “the American global domination project” and “Tel Aviv.” Author of an article “Slouching toward a Palestinian Holocaust” that compares Israel to the Nazis. As noted by the British government’s equality and non-discrimination team, Falk’s recent writings are “resonant of the longstanding anti-Semitic practice of blaming Jews (through the state of Israel by proxy) for all that is wrong in the world.”

George Bisharat previously organized similar quasi-academic events at UC Hastings. He campaigns for boycotts of Israel, claiming “[i]f boycotting apartheid South Africa was appropriate, it is equally fair to boycott Israel on a similar record.” Bisharat promotes the Palestinian narrative, asserting the so-called “right of return” and other dubious allegations that include Nazi references, and talks of massacres and master plans.

Eitan Bronstein Aparicio is the founder of the NGO Zochrot, which aims to “raise public awareness of the Palestinian Nakba.” Zochrot supports a “one state solution” or a “de-Zionized Palestine,” and refers to Israel as having an “ethnicized and racialized Zionist” system. Bronstein has stated: “When the refugees return, Jews will become a minority in the country. Israel as a Jewish state will change radically, and it will no longer be defined as such.” In a May 16, 2010 article, he claimed that if the Palestinians give up their “right of return,” Israelis, “will be sentenced to the shameful life of an eternal occupier, armed from the soles of my feet to the depths of my soul and always afraid, like all colonizers.” Participated as the “Holocaust Bodyguard”in a highly disturbing video was posted on YouTube, “The Holocaust’s Visit to Yad Vashem,” featuring radical activist Natali Cohen Vaxberg. In it, she visits the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and adopts the persona of the “Holocaust,” claiming to be “the best thing that ever happened” to the Jewish people. (See here for more on this highly offensive video.)

Lea Tsemel is an anti-Zionist activist and a founder of the Public Committee against Torture in Israel a group that circulates unverifiable allegations of Israeli torture, using them as the basis for campaigns in international forums and Israeli courts. Her writings level accusations against Israel, including “ethnic cleansing.” She has served on the International Advisory Council of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) program, funded by the NGO Diakonia.  The IHL program exploits and misrepresents international law and promotes an invented “right to resist” (meaning terrorism). Tsemel presented at the 2011 Cape Town Russell Tribunal on Palestine, a “peoples tribunal” that exploits a legal façade in order to implicate Israel of various war crimes. Tsemel has stated that Israel “took a cue from Nazi Germany –‘the same racism, the same hatred, the same ideology of super race.’”

Hatem Bazian: President of American Muslims for Palestine and co-founder of Students for Justice in Palestine, two U.S.-based groups that promote anti-Israel activism.

Bazian has made highly offensive statements, which include:

  • At a May 1999 conference organized by the American Muslim Alliance, Bazian stated: “In the Hadith, the Day of Judgment will never happen until you fight the Jews . . . and the stones will say, ‘Oh Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him!’”
  • Bazian protested the arrests of anti-Israel protesters at UC Berkeley, saying: “If you want to know where the pressure on the university [to prosecute the demonstrators] is coming from, look at the Jewish names on the school buildings.”
  • Spoke at a May 2002 “cultural assembly” at San Francisco’s George Washington High School, which was so offensive that it resulted in formal letters of apology from the school administration. The event  featured a student singing a rap song comparing Zionists to Nazis and other inflammatory activities.
  • In June 2004, Bazian spoke at a KindHearts Fundraising Dinner, entitled ‘Palestinians in agony!’ In 2006 the organization, also known as Islamic Association for Palestine, was shut down by the US government and became listed as a specially designated terrorist organization for being a HAMAS front.

Jewish leaders in the UK have urged a cancellation of this event.

A letter written by leaders of Jewish communal leaders in the UK noted that this conference is a case where it appears “to surpass the acceptable,” and that based on title and advertised speakers “it sets out explicitly to question the very legitimacy of a member state of the UN.” Allowing the conference they note would be “a perverse, existential attack on a state” they wrote, and they accused Southampton’s Law School of “being used as an academic platform to advance not just legitimate Palestinian national rights, to which we have no objection, but rather to blacken, demonize and delegitimize the very right of existence of the State of Israel. l undoubtedly trouble greatly the members of the UK Jewish community,” they wrote.

Heinous Donors to the New Israel Fund support help support conferences like this.

Major donors to NIF include Alisa Doctoroff, Karen R. Adler of the Jewish Communal Fund, Ruth B. Ziegler, Joseph & Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds, Sylvia Sabel & Joel Rubinstein, Alain Wertheimer (of Chanel) – Shame on them!

Other donors to NIF include David Hochberg, Edith Everett, Joel Greenblatt, Dr. Tricia Hillman Gibbs, The Rosenzweig Coopersmith Foundation, Geoffrey Biddle and many others.  Shame on all of them.

Please stop reporting that there was an antisemitic attack in Stamford Hill, there was not. There was no mob screaming “kill the jews.”

Please google “Rabbi reveals Stamford Hill synagogue brawl was sparked by party dispute.” You will find an article, on a Jewish website, stating the facts from the people that were there that it was not an antisemitic incident, and was not a targeted attack.

Pretty clear that it was an anti-Semitic based incident….read the articles entirely, especially the last one which is the one you were likely referring to. Regardless of the Rabbi trying to downplay the incident “Four men and two women, all in their late teens, were arrested for public order offences and assault. They have been bailed until mid-May while investigations continue”. They were chasing to attack a Jewish youth whilst uttering racial slurs against Jews….. this is an anti-Semitic attack.

Pam did not say terrorist attack.

Even the people who were the victims of the attack are not claiming the incident was antisemitic. The story is being portrayed as a huge mob chanting “kill the jews”, when nothing like this occurred. The conflict involved one Jewish youth getting into trouble at a party with some drunken idiot, who then fled to a nearby synagogue/Jewish youth centre to hide, and was subsequently chased by some of the people he was fighting with. In the video, you can hear the attackers saying something like, “send him out here”, referencing the boy they were after, as his friends protected him.

The initial reports on the story were sensationalised by journalists. ONE member of the group is reported to have uttered a racial slur. One person uttering a racial slur does not equal an an antisemitic mob. Because this slur was said, the police had no choice but to investigate it as if it was a racially targeted incident, but as is made categorically clear in the article on the Jewish Chronicle, from the very people who were involved, it was not.

The Rabbi of the synagogue said, “We want people to know it wasn’t an antisemitic incident. Tottenham is
such a wonderful place to live we have tremendous social cohesion here, and everybody gets on and we haven’t had any experience of antisemitism.”

The police commander in charge of the investigation said, “It was not antisemitic, thank God, but it was a crime and it was anti-social behaviour and we all understood that.”

I don’t know how it could be any more clear.

(BTW I was blocked from commenting here after my above comment despite the fact I never violated any of the site’s stated rules. I never insulted anyone, although I was insulted several times while discussing this topic elsewhere on the site, never used vulgar language or anything of the kind. I have been blocked simply for questioning and stating facts, so this will be my last comment as I will probably get blocked again after circumventing it. The commenting rules state anyone posting “abusive, hateful, libelous and genocidal posts” will be banned. I have not done any of this, and yet all over this site you can see people commenting openly hateful, racist and abusive posts who are allowed to go ahead unhindered. A victory for free speech, eh?)

I understood apartheid in South Africa was black/white segregation. So where in Israel is there any black/white segregation? Where is there any Arab/Jewish segregation (that isn’t a product of Arab unrest)? Nowhere.

It’s going to be a right hate-fest against Israel and will no doubt be well attended by their leftist and naive students of whom there are many. Both Southampton and Exeter universities need looking into regarding their rampant anti-semitism.

Southampton, once such a beautiful, fascinating, exciting port city, now sold to the ideological scourge of the earth.
Exeter has the racist Derek Walcott as a Professor Emeritus of Literature. Another ‘Nobel Prized’ donkeys behind! They need a lawsuit.

This is the example of jewish treason. It didn’t start just now. It’s been going on for hundreds of years, fueling animosity toward all Jews. No nation wants to face it’s own demons, but perhaps the situation now is somewhat jewish fault as well. For years after the war jewish circles silenced all opponents with the accusations of antisemitism, just like barry and enemedia does today with “islamophobia”. Now, when no-one fears the “antisemite” label and rabid islamists openly calling to kill all Jews are everywhere and universally accepted by the leftwing tyranny in the EU and US, Jews are defenceless. The supposed all-powerful weapon of silencing any dissent is now gone and there is no backup plan. Claims that Jews never did anything wrong and all of them were WW2 victims, that none collaborated in the genocide and there are no Jews directly responsible for unbelievable atrocities by he Soviets, gave aura of sanctity, power and influence to many jewish traitors, who now did what is in their DNA – betrayed their hosts, betrayed their own folk in the vain assumption that they’ll be spared by the horde. But just like jewish police, jewish judenrats, jewish sonderkommandos, jewish kapos learned, Jew is a Jew. THere are no “their” jews. All must be killed.

these turncoat “Jews” have their own problem. A psychologist, Leon Festinger called their problem: cognitive dissonance. Because these “Jews” are not really “schooled” in Judaism they have mental stress or discomfort because they hold two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas or values at the same time.

The same can be said about every leftwinger. Agudah in Eastern Europe dejudaized Bundists – yesterday’s name for these traitors – cast them out before the war. Maybe today the same symbolic gesture is needed.
