Because Netanyahu won, Obama admin revisiting assumptions about US’s role as Israel’s shield

71

Obama is so vindictive and so deeply anti-Israel that he is now planning to use Netanyahu’s victory in Israel as a pretext to betray Israel at the UN and force it to accept a “Palestinian” state that would be a new base for jihad against a diminished Jewish state.

This is the time when all the friends of Israel must stand strong against this traitor’s onslaught. That’s why our campaign against BDS-supporting Jewish leaders and philanthropists is needed now more than ever. Contribute here.

“Israel’s shield no more?,” by Michael Crowley, Politico, March 18, 2015:

In the wake of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decisive re-election, the Obama administration is revisiting longtime assumptions about America’s role as a shield for Israel against international pressure.

Angered by Netanyahu’s hard-line platform towards the Palestinians, top Obama officials would not rule out the possibility of a change in American posture at the United Nations, where the U.S. has historically fended off resolutions hostile to Israel.

And despite signals from Israel suggesting that Netanyahu might walk back his rejection, late in the campaign, of a Palestinian state under his watch, Obama officials say they are taking him at his word.

“The positions taken by the prime minister in the last days of the campaign have raised very significant substantive questions that go far beyond just optics,” said a senior administration official, adding that recent Israeli government actions were in keeping with Netanyahu’s rhetoric.

While saying it was “premature” to discuss Washington’s policy response, the official wouldn’t rule out a modified American posture at the United Nations, where the U.S. has long fended off resolutions critical of Israeli settlement activity and demanding its withdrawal from Palestinian territories.

“We are signaling that if the Israeli government’s position is no longer to pursue a Palestinian state, we’re going to have to broaden the spectrum of options we pursue going forward,” the official said.

There is no virtually no chance that the U.S. will trim its financial or military support for Israel. But some analysts believe that going forward, Netanyahu may be vulnerable in international forums where the U.S. has long been a bulwark against criticism of Israel and its presence in Palestinian territories.

“I do think the administration is going to look very closely at the possibility of either joining, or at least not blocking an internationally backed move at the U.N. to restate the parameters for ending the conflict,” said Jeremy Ben-Ami, president of the left-leaning pro-Israel group J Street.

Netanyahu’s campaign statements “make it a lot easier for the administration to justify going down a more international route,” Ben-Ami added.

The chief Palestinian negotiator with Israel, Saeb Erakat, told Agence France-Press that the Palestinians will “accelerate, continue and intensify” their diplomatic efforts to pressure Israel.

The U.S. has run critical interference for Israel on such measures in the past. Last November, the U.N. Security Council considered a draft resolution, pushed by the Palestinians and Arab countries, demanding an Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank within three years. The U.S. quietly quashed the effort.

In February 2011, Obama exercised his first Security Council veto to strike down a resolution condemning Israeli settlement activity in Palestinian territory. Every other one of the Security Council’s 15 members supported the resolution.

Obama officials must now decide whether more international pressure on Israel can help bring a conservative Netanyahu-led government back to the negotiating table with the Palestinians — or whether such pressure would simply provoke a defiant reaction, as some fear.

Obama has other diplomatic options. He could expend less political capital to oppose growing momentum within the European Union to impose sanctions on Israel for its settlement activity.

More provocative to Israel would be any softening of Obama’s opposition to Palestinian efforts to join the International Criminal Court, which the Palestinian Authority will formally join on April 1. Under a law passed by Congress, any Palestinian bid to bring war crimes charges against Israel at the court will automatically sever America’s $400 million in annual aid to the Palestinian Authority, although some experts suggested Obama could find indirect ways to continue some funding — even if only to prevent a dangerous collapse of the Palestinian governing body.

On Monday, Danny Ayalon, a former Israeli ambassador to the U.S., said he expected Netanyahu to “retract” a campaign statement he made ruling out the possibility of a Palestinian state during his tenure as prime minister. But the senior Obama official said that the administration believes the prime minister meant what he said because Netanyahu made multiple comments during the closing days of his campaign as he appealed to conservative voters.

The official noted that Netanyahu also admitted that, during his first term as prime minister in the mid-1990s, he had approved construction at the Israeli settlement of Har Homa to cut off any possible linkage between Palestinian-majority areas. “It was a way of stopping Bethlehem from moving toward Jerusalem,” Netanyahu said.

“To actually come out and say that this construction is actually driven by efforts to undermine a future Palestinian state is fairly dramatic,” said the official. He added that the Obama administration is focused not just on Netanuyahu’s comments but on his “several-year record of action on this issue” casting doubt on his desire for a peace agreement.

A former senior Obama official was more direct, saying of the Israeli leader: “He’s shown his true colors.”…

THE MENTAL AND MORAL MIDGET

in the White House is fighting a losing battle against a larger than life Jewish leader who is favored by Heaven to continue as Israel’s PM. As the narcissistic nut case doubles down on his personal vendetta against Netanyahu, his victory Tuesday will prove to be a tragic foreshadowing of worse humiliations and setbacks to come. If Obama doesn’t accept the reality of Netanyahu’s wisdom and moral clarity on Iran and the Palestinians he will finish his days a broken man in deep regret with a foreign policy legacy of ashes and dust.

This is what has been avoided by the joyous victory in Israel and on St Patricks day too. If the Left Fascists of Livni and Labour had won then in combination with the evil of Jihad Arab Muslims IN Israel – Fascist dictatorship would have followed and all discussion closed down

vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvictory

The Israeli election and victory for Netanyahu is a major positive. There is no doubt that if the Left Fascists Herrzog and Livni had won and then teamed up with the United Arab faction which is now the third largest in a Jewish Israeli Parliament (while Jews are killed in every Arab country and repressed terribly in Iran – what is left of them that is)…

It is this alliance of Left Fascists inside of Israel and of Jihadist Israel Hating Arabs who have been given a vote and base also inside of Israel that was so dangerous. These moves were being orchestrated against Bibi by Obama who does not really hate so much Bibi as hates Bibi as a representative of Jews and Jewish culture in our world. In other words Obama is an Antisemite. That is what the election defeated.
I feel the above (written and published this morning) is correct. Discussion is being closed down. In article on (4international.me) I draw attention to jailing of 8 youth in Catalonia yesterday for no more than youthful and unemployed protesting. In other words it is Franco again.
I try to show that these Left Fascists (note my precise terminology here) of Herzog and Livni uniting with the Jihadists INSIDE of Israel would have moved SO fast. So very fast.
And anything was possible. I also analyse how they were stopped and I believe it was the POOREST Jews who stopped Obama and these Left Fascists. I am a Trotskyist and I salute Bibi and in particular I salute his speech to Congress March 8 which I believe turned everything

I agree with much of what you have written, but a Trotskyist ?
Sir I believe that most of the curtailing of free speech and the undermining of the Jewish right to a state, the anti Semitic bent shown increasingly by successive governments worldwide has its roots in the new socialist doctrine that is being preached everywhere.

I suppose it means that had Herzzog and Livni won, then the Left, as it does every where would have shut down free speech ( political speech ) that is deemed to be offensive to minorities ( the Muslims ) and moved rapidly to expedite dialogue with the Palestinians, the pullback of settlements, the exchange of land without regard to the future security of the State of Israel.
In other words give in to all of the Palestinian demands in the mistaken belief that every one can hold hands and dance through the fields in the complete trust that the UN and the US wont let anything bad happen again.

Question: should either a) the USA bipartisan probe or b) the Israeli Election Committee investigation prove that Herzog gained by the team of USA campaign advisors and/or the huge amount of money funnelled to V15 by One voice, does Israeli election law/rules provide for his being expelled from the Knesset or being barred from political participation altogether?

Yes Roger but I would add that the Spanish Court in Catalonia has just jailed 8 youth for protesting – for a massive 3 years. So what you leave out above is that….Obama would have pushed forward a dictatorship and I argue a brutal dictatorship…Thus these “labourites” would be changing themselves (like Sharon did) and not for the better. Sharon in a certtain way of looking at it ended the “tribe” and Israel is not an exception.

Roger…I am not sure about the “ist” part but I do stand behind the main body of Trotsky and Lenin’s work. I stand particularly behind Trotsky’s fight for the Israel to be and his fight against Antisemitism and for his analysis of the (new) fascism phenomenon which he was studying from about 1930 until his murder in 1940

I am afraid you need to define ” the new socialist doctrine” for me because that may be what I am deliberately and consciously calling “Left Fascism”

The two-state “roadmap” has long been dead, though our left media still harps on it. The PLO pretty much scuttled two-state negotiations when they indicated to all that the two-state solution was just the first (temporary) step to a ONE (palestinian) STATE solution. Bibi did not change the roadmap, he has taken the logical opposition to the deadly intentions of his peace-loving terrorist neighbors.

Sultan Barry may join with his IOC ALLIES in the UN and try to force Israel to surrender to islam. And if the GOP in congress can forget that damn pipeline and deal DIRECTLY with Barry Sotero, the world could be improved. The congress is the last hope to save the US, IOsrael and the west — and we are stuck with utterly feeble wimps at the leadership positions!

GOP senate open letter to ayatollahs a diversion. Initiation of IMPEACHMENT
proceedings would take on the enemy head on! Sultan Barry is in cahoots with islam …. even a 5 year old should be able to see that after all that has been said and done to advance and protect the caliphate crusaders!

This whole Palestinian state thing is stupid. The Palestinians don’t want a two state solution. They want a one state solution with Palestine being the state and Israel not existing any more. And that is exactly what the islamic supremacist in the White House wants also.

There is no two state solution and never will be because that is not what the Palestinians truly want. Hamas wants Israel gone, and until Israel is gone they want a perpetual grievance so they can be perpetual victims and perpetually whine to a perpetually stupid western world.

Add to that, if they were a real state, and continued to pursue the attack on Israel, Israel would be within its rights to stomp them into the ground for starting a war (nation to nation) with them. Then everyone on the Left would be crying about how unfair it is, etc. George Soros, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would be busy funneling money and weapons to the “Palestinians”.

They are such a bunch of violent crybabies now, they would not be able to 1) Self govern, and 2) take the consequences of their actions of war as a nation against any other nation, especially one that could kick their sorry asses.

Unless they come to Christ, Jihadists never back up, admit wrongs, or reject hatred. Obama is just such a Jihadist, and his anger at failing to unseat Netanyahu only increase his hatred for him, and for the nation of Israel.

As time passes, Obama’s petulant and evil nature becomes ever more apparent, and the idea of trying to force a false 2-state peace solution with those who refuse to admit that Israel has the right to exist is only the latest manifestation of that hatred.

Israel currently rejects the God of Abraham since they have rejected the Messiah, Christ. However, God still has plans for them that will come to fruition at the end of the Tribulation, when He brings them to salvation through Christ. Nations and leaders that oppose and attack Israel will be judged, so Obama needs to use caution in this regard. God has brought many nations to the dust in defense of Israel, and will continue to do what is necessary to preserve it until the time that Christ physically returns, standing on the Mount of Olives.

Obama, like pagan leaders in times past, is setting himself up for failure, defeat, and destruction in his hatred for Israel, just as emperors of the past have done.

Politico is so pathetically biased and whiney.
The U.S. has been “a bulwark against criticism of Israel and its presence in the Palestinian territories” is a whiney way of saying the U.S. has been a defender of freedom and civilization in a region of chaos, tyranny and insanity.
In considering the various possibilities of seeing an early end of “obama,” I have always thought a shooting war between Israel and a coalition of formidable islamic foes in which the islamic in the White House ordered America on the side of the evil would be the most likely to bring his precipitous demise.

Can you be a feminist and an Islamist I saw recently in an article? Well of course you can, you can be anything you like under this sun – in your mind – but out here in the real world it is not possible to be Islamist and Progressive in any fashion.

This is what lies at the roots of the Fascist Lefts and the degenaration of the left thereby. They do not deal with the real world, with reality, and they have given up on the empirical investigation of that reality. But the degeneration began much earlier than the Tudeh Party in 1978

What comes out of their mouths is an invented “reality” thereby no reality at all and a severe distortion of reality.

The religion and political ideology including political tactics coming out of the body of work of Islam is pure evil.

And what comes out of the Left Fascists today is also pure evil. Antisemitism is at the heart of this degeneration and it is a degeneration.

All is not lost however and there is a body of work by academic researchers and by researchers who are not just academics but also campaigners in an active sense

That research has also followed a method in the philosophical sense. It has insisted on a study of reality. The examination of the texts of the Koran is such a method. It has been done in opposition to the lies of these Left Fascist liars such as Karen Armstrong.

Armstrong is one of the worst cases of subjective idealism you will ever find. She never set out to study Islam. Not for a second. Her method was the very opposite. She set out to paint a rosy picture of her subject by hook or by crook. Her work is one of essential forgery

Her method is to oppose an examination of reality and to impose on that reality her own thoughts. if she thinks that Islam is peaceful then it is peaceful etc.

Note how pervasive this has been and is. Even Bush on the morning after 9-11 was venting the thoughts of Armstrong. Pope Francis does it every single day. He represents a degeneration from Pope Benedict but the latter began his own degeneration when he withdrew from fighting out the implications in his Revensburg lecture. He was a powerful man mentally and organizationally and that withdrawal raises the question in what form can we develop the truth on this, or on anything? I have my own ideas on this.

If the ancient prophets, and I iterate If, of Israel are correct, there will come a time when ALL (and I emphasize All — including the U.S.) will TURN against Israel.
Are we in that time? Time will tell.
These same prophecies (more than one) say emphatically, that having NO where else to go, the Jews in Israel will call upon God and be delivered.
Maybe the modern day Pharoahs will learn the same way Pharoah of ancient Egypt did: trial and error, and then defeat.
If I were a betting person, I’d put my bet on the Jews.
I expect, too, a preemptive strike will come soon against Iran’s nuclear program.
