Dallas Morning News: AFDI Forced to Pay $10,000 for Police Presence at Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest

26

Did the Islamic supremacists who organized the “Stand With the Prophet” conference against free speech, held in the same venue as our event in Garland, Texas, have to pay $10,000 for the extra security provided?

Please politely ask: Garland Independent School District

“‘Muhammed Art Exhibit’ contract calls for 40 officers at Garland ISD site,” By Ray Leszcynski, Dallas Morning News, February 17, 2015

The added security the Garland ISD assigns when controversy comes to the Curtis Culwell Center is paid for up-front, the president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative said today.

Pamela Geller said the group was charged roughly $10,000 for security when it booked the school district’s arena as the site of the May 3 “Muhammed Art Exhibit and Contest.”

The money will pay for 40 extra officers at the site. Garland ISD includes security costs in all contracts that involve the Culwell Center arena.

“That’s the first time in any of our events across America,” Geller said. “We had a Ground Zero mosque protest that drew over 35,000 people. Police presence was intense and we didn’t pay a dime. I’ve never seen anything like that where you have to pay for police. … That’s what we call the high cost of freedom.”

She also said the police presence was more than what was needed at the Jan. 17 “Stand with the Prophet” event at the Culwell Center, where she led protesters.

“That event was in no danger. It was a completely peaceful protest,” She said. “I have held scores of protests. Never has there been a violent incident. I’m more afraid of staying quiet. That to me is far scarier.”

GISD also reserves the right to approve promotional materials, she said, and its officials balked at AFDI’s poster as “inflammatory.” She said the district backed off prohibiting the poster under threat of lawsuit.

A Garland City Councilman’s request to make sure the city was being reimbursed for the enhanced police presence was made Monday night at the council’s work session.

You have to agree with the District, though. Mainstream Texas Mohammedanism is identical to Nazism. Mainstream Texan Mohammedan will react to anyone who mocks their satanic false prophet with rioting, rape, Shari’ah, and murder.

Shows how this anti-Satan event is already starting to bear fruit. John Wilborn and the other powers-that-be at this event space have had to admit that Mainstream Texan Mohammedan are not human. Mainstream Texan Mohammedan are bloodthirsty zombies who will kill if they see a cartoon they don’t like.

All the more reason why we need to criminalize Shari’ah, dismantle the Mohammedan colonies, and eradicate “Palestine”. Pray for the genocide of the Quranic State and the 57 OIC governments (and their allies).

I always figured that’s why he thought we had 57 states (with one to go … and Alaska and Hawaii … he didn’t have time for) = 60
Well he does plan for the US becoming an Islamic nation!

Mainstream Texas Mohammedanism, however, knows dang well that Mainstream Texans are armed and, unlike the jihadis you so often see in videos, know what the term “sight picture” ,means…

We need to get the word out to ALL of the American patriots in America who ride a Harley Davidson to show up as “added security”

Looks like an opportunity for a lawsuit for discriminatory treatment. The peaceful protest of a couple thousand supporters of free speech did not invoke the need for added security. Yet the threat of attack by Muslim enemies of individual liberty and freedom, the anticipated violent hecklers, is apparently understood by all.

One twist: I would demand that the school district identify the specific persons or entities they have identified as a credible risk. I would demand that they be named with sufficient specificity so that you can name them in your lawsuit (if you sue them) as indispensable parties. You would seek to have them cover the cost of added security, by reason of their potential violence. Demand that they label the inherently violent hecklers correctly or alternatively abandon the demand for extra cash.

This is an important issue. Either Islam is “the religion of peace” as the official line goes, or it is not. If they are requiring payment for extra security the police should be forced to say who they believe are likely perpetrators of violence i.e. extra security to protect from who? They cant have it both ways.

Very well put.

Why pay? Tell them to keep their police. This is not New Jersey or Paris. Texas is an open carry state. You can get 100 people to show up with sidearms.

AFDI should quickly demand your security money back. I’m no lawyer, but please consult with legal counsel. You should inform the Garland ISD that their discriminatory security fee is unconstitutional and refer them to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Forsyth County v. Nationalist Movement (1992), which struck down a local government’s increased fee for police protection for controversial events because “Speech cannot be financially burdened, any more than it can be punished or banned, simply because it might offend a hostile mob.” That decision has saved many groups with controversial ideas from being muzzled by this form of back-door censorship.

Sorry, but actually, that Wikipedia article is rather poor. It doesn’t show how effective the decision has been in preventing the further use of discriminatory security fees. A much more useful resource is found in the accounts of how the FIRE group has protected student groups on public campuses from the use of such fees. Here are sixty-one such examples:

The next president is going to be a real killer and he will not hesitate to open up the gig can on their sorry asses. Obama will not take off the kid gloves and mink mittens-but it is long passed time to take the gloves off.

However, it would help is the president and his mouthpiece Eric (Ass with both hands) Holder could bring themselves to call the enemy by name.

The Gainesville PD did the same to Jones when he was threatening to burn a Quran. In addition to the Department of Defense harassing him, his insurance company was weaponized against him as well.

This is the new USA. You are free to criticize Islam, but you be forced to pay dearly for it. Islam is now the established religion in many more nations than the 57 in the OIC.

Infuriating.

How about we bring our own armed security? We don’t need the police. How’s that?

Here is the email I sent. I urge others to copy it and send it too all the people listed in the article!

AFDI Forced to Pay $10,000 for Police Presence at Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was very concerned to learn that Pamela Geller’s organisation the AFDI had to pay $10,000 for extra police protection during their Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest.  I find this extremely hypocritical as the the Islamic supremacists who organized the “Stand With the Prophet” conference against free speech, held in the same venue as the AFDI event in Garland, Texas, did not have to  pay $10,000 for the extra police presence.

I urge you to return this money to the AFDI as the fee they paid amounts to,”protection money” which is  unethical and tantamount to religious discrimination.

I also urge you to refrain from charging the AFDI for such security in future.

Thank you for taking time to read my email, and look forward to your reply.

Yours,

Is that what the muslims pay for their hate rallies? Can’t the police be told to take a hike and hire your own security force at less than half the price? Tweet, facebook and shout out to all militias, bikers, marines and other patriots to come down fully loaded. Anyway, I hope donations increase to cover whatever needs to be done because this event needs to be done.

You people are nothing but haters. Just don’t complain when anti-Christian bigotry increases because if you are Christian, the religion is rotting.
