Watch VIDEO CBS News: “Contest For Cartoons of Prophet Muhammad Draws Concern”

52

The media is concerned? Why? Muslims are peaceful, right? So what’s the problem?

And why does the media always use the word “prophet” before Muhammad? I never see the media insert “Our Lord and Savior” before Jesus Christ. So why would they call Muhammad their prophet? It’s insidious and telling.

As for the CAIR rep whining about it being offensive, I find Hamas-CAIR offensive. I find their terror ties offensive. I find their demands on free societies offensive.

I find their defamation and libel against my colleagues and me offensive. So what?

Contest For Cartoons of Prophet Muhammad Draws Concern, By Jack Fink, CBS News, February 13, 2015

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) – After a Muslim event designed to combat Islamophobia gained controversy last month at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, the American Freedom Defense Initiative is planning an event at the Garland ISD facility of its own May 3rd:

An art contest displaying cartoons of the prophet Muhammad, and the winning entry will earn a $10,000 prize. “This is an exhibit for freedom and standing for freedom.”

Pamela Geller is the event organizer. She has attracted controversy, but describes herself as a human rights activist.

Geller says “Pornography, obscenity, we’re not interested. We’re interested in culture and the role that this hot button issue is playing in free societies.”

Most Muslim scholars say depicting the likeness of the Prophet Muhammad isn’t allowed.

Alia Salem of the DFW Chapter of the Council of American Islamic Relations says supports free speech. “We should have free speech, and nobody’s stopping her from doing this, go ahead, maybe there’ll be some Muslims entering this, who knows.”

But Salem says she hopes the Muslim Community will ignore this event. “While it is her right, it’s not really in good taste to be honest because it’s just a shameless attempt to get a reaction out of the Muslim Community, that’s how we view it. It’s not any attempt to promote free speech.”

Geller says not enough Americans are speaking out for free speech and against the terror attack against the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo after they published cartoons of Muhammad.

“This is outrageous. This is savage and we here in the U.S. are going to stand with the editors of Charlie Hebdo. If you say Je Suis Charlie, you’re going to have to mean it, it’s not here to just hash-tag something, you got to walk the walk and you got to talk the talk because people are dying because of a cartoon.”

Salem says she also strongly condemned the terror attack in France. “The very limited instances where I would agree with Pamela Geller would be this, that shouldn’t have happened, that’s not ok, that’s not ok for someone to commit a crime because someone drew a cartoon for crying out loud.”

Most of the residents we spoke with who live near the Culwell Center declined on-camera interviews about this event.

But Michael Soderlind expressed his concern. “Things are quiet let them stay quiet. There’s no threat there. I’m not only concerned something will happen there, but that something could happen anywhere in our country.”

Salem says, “If we do not unite and come together as a North Texas community, as an American community and deal with this hatred, we will not succeed in combatting this kind of bigotry.”

Geller says, “Who gets to decide what is hate speech and what is not hate speech? We will not be cowed by intimidation, and by violence, and by jihad.”

“…why does the media always use the word “prophet” before Muhammad…?”

Because they are Judeo-Christian tradition/culture/religion/American-hating, America-destroying cowards.

My local radio station news refers to the “p****** **HAM++, as well. In doing so, they are lending credence to the fact; they should be saying “m***** p****** moHAMmed. Unfortunately, trying to talk to one of these newshounds is futile, as they are arrogant as a breed.

Then I would start insisting on Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – and find businesses with Christian owner who advertise on that station to ask the station to use it.

Based on the January, 2015, per hour (24/7) average of slaughters by Muslims, Muslims kill as many people every 28 days as the KKK killed in its 86 years of killing.

Alia Salem, the CAIR lady in the hood, said “The Muslims should ignore the event”. “They should stay away”.

YES! Isn’t this Pamela Geller’s hope, that the the Muslims will finally ignore these people’s cartons and continue on their day with whatever it was they were doing?

By bringing these “draw Muhammad contests” to every town in ever city in every state, maybe, just Maybe the Muslims will “get it”, that “this is what freedom of speech looks like” and they need to get over it.

So, in their heads, a light bulb will go on….”Oh, I get it now. I see what you mean now by freedom of speech. Yes. It makes so much sense now. I see. I get it now”

Isn’t it sad, isn’t it pathetic, that our first amendment has been reduced to this, provocative cartoons and childish invectives. But that’s where Islam brings us, into the black hole of superstition, prejudice, and childish ignorance, a religion lacking in wisdom and humanitarian love, and to an embarrassing degree. We must fight the beast on its own level. Thank You, dear Pamela, for rolling in the mud for the rest of us.

It is sad and pathetic – however, in Europe they do not have even that. Many countries are limiting free speech pointing to blasphemy etc. In that regard our 1st Amendment still holds and has no “unless” clause. if I were religious I would definitely say “God bless America”!

I wish here in Canada we had the same. While freedom of speech is protected as a “fundamental freedom” under the Charter of Rights, it is not absolute. I use to think that the 2nd amendment was crazy – yeah, I will admit that – but now I say to friends, that it is the second amendment that will save America’s ass one day. The Great America, in all her glory, we miss you so dearly in the world today.

Seriously, the CAIR spokesperson, Alia Salem, she was the one in the hood talking to the CBS reporter, she’s right.
The Muslims should do as she suggested, “stay away from the show”.
She said the Muslims should “ignore the event”.
If the Muslims take her advice, this will be seen as a HUGE win for the “freedom of speech”.
It will also show how the Muslims are “changing”…conforming to America’s top, number one rule: our “right to insult” anyone we want.
We can even “insult” the President if we want, knowing we are safe to do so.
The Muslims, who have been adopted by America, cannot dictate to the country that adopted them what the rules are.
THEY, as the adopted, must submit to the country’s laws that adopted them.
When they became citizens of America, they swore an oath to abandon their allegiance to the country they just left, and they swear allegiance to their new country, America.
And to obey OUR laws.
The adopted child does not tell their new parents what to do.

The saddest part of this whole cartoon contest is that it’s in anyway news worthy. If there were a contest for drawing Jesus, Buddha, the Pope or anyone else no one would raise an eyebrow but here we are worried – no- expecting retaliation from the peace loving Islamist’s supposedly living in harmony in the good ole’USA. Muslims on the other hand can march through the streets calling for the death of almost anything and everything, burning our Flag, demanding we tolerate and adapt to their ways and the media picks it up and paints a story that we’re treating these people badly and we are somehow the bad guys- how the hell does that work? It doesn’t surprise me that Obama supports them but what does is many ordinary hard working Americans blindly support them as well. Are the Chem Trails actually working dumbing your average citizen down? Could it be in our breakfast cereal? There has to be a reason that your average American man has spine degeneration these days.

Islam in all forms needs to be banned by law (as the crime
ideology it is) and rejected if the world/humans want to survive in peace on
this planet. Muslims contribution to society in recent and past years has been
murder and mayhem, based on the life of Mohammed who if born today would be
diagnosed as a sex addict, pedophile, delusional, narcissistic and having
epileptic fits (sorry Mo. Allah was not trying to reach you.)

Geller is fighting back against the Muslim Jihadists who have long ago declared war on us and use their favored and disturbingly effective weapon of manufactured grievances and accusations of “Islamophobia” to shut down any and all opposition to a war they cannot win, if the west follows Ms. Geller’s example. Where the Jihadists are few in numbers they will squeal, loudly and publicly, like wounded piglets and some may decide to take a more violent approach. Preparations will have to be made to thwart the latter with a force of arms.

This is the crucial point in all of these confrontations. Does society jump on Ms.
Geller, be critical and attempt to prevent her freedom to speak so as to prevent a potentially violent situation? Or do we grit our teeth and accept the fact that there will be blood in the homeland, eventually, if we continue to acquiesce to these fanatics that cloak their true quest for global religious hegemony in a false garb of
piety? We have to be willing to begin to inflict some serious pain, the only thing they understand. Drone strikes that occasionally take out a few Jihadists along with some allegedly innocent civilians are like flea bites on an elephant. The west and those predominantly Muslim nations who want no part of the ancient, orthodox version of Islam these Jihadists use to justify their madness, need to gird their loins, recognize we’re in a war for survival, seek out these fanatics, wherever they are hiding, including among the so called civilian population, and take them out. The threat of war must be confronted, head on. This enemy is determined, aggressive, suicidal and a growing global threat and is not going away or standing down without a bloody war that ends in their annihilation.

The west will never put an end to this threat by sanctimonious proselytizing, hand
wringing, holier than thow accusations of cruelty and self flagellation, over defensive and offensive actions that do not fit our national character as a “model society.” This “model society” will end up in the proverbial dustbin of history unless
we become determined to fight fire with fire.

This is going to make no one happy. It’s time for blissful ignorance to be smothered
in reality. The American people never wanted Pearl Harbor to be bombed by the Japanese but that event was a wake up call, America responded and Harry Truman ended it by reducing the mostly civilian populated cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to ash heaps, a decision that remains a great controversy to this day. But out of that horror and the undeniable horror of WWII, rose modern, independent,
sovereign, Japan and the friendly nations of Europe. The question that should be asked and answered is, “has the Obama policy of weakening America’s posture in the world by making ‘nice’ really made the world a much safer place, as ‘The One’ likes to proclaim?” Walking softly while brandishing a limp noodle, keeping a low
profile, perpetual, fatuous, mea culpas, and consorting with the enemy, “smart power” as Ms. Hillary Clinton calls it, or more accurately, “the sitting duck” philosophy, is an open invitation to the evil doers, of every stripe and there are many, as by now should be glaringly obvious.

This effort by Ms. Geller, if allowed to proceed, is sure to draw some violent Muslim
Brotherhood supporters and members out of the woodwork. It remains to be seen whose side the world will come down on after Washington and their pseudo intellectual media sycophants follow the Brotherhood’s lead. Can’t help but wonder, if not now, when? What will it take?

I actually burst out laughing when Alia Salem from CAIR said drawing a cartoon of Mohammed was in bad taste. CAIR is a group of terrorists and terrorist sympathizers. Their biggest claim to fame is the number of leaders who are unindicted co-conspirators in terror charges across the country. As for Muslims ignoring the event – I’m not sure what Dallas CAIR is talking about – they’re out actively seeking that people not be allowed to host the event. It’s hard to say you’re focused on having Muslims ignore the event when you’re telling them to protest it. I cannot wait.

The response from salem is sadly lame. So what if so-called “moderate” muslims think an art contest for their one and only is in “bad taste”. Her opinion is not a factor as to whether or not freedom of expression events can be held. It is merely a thinly veiled attempt on her part to raise concerns and influence american people to “keep silent” or it might “bait” muslim reaction. If she and others are such “moderate” peaceful muslim people then here’s their chance to not be so obviously contentious and stand up for this country. Events like this support american freedom and values and act as statements of non-subjugation to outside pressures. “Moderate” muslims need to get rid of their westernphobia and their needs to be treated special and constant passive aggressive complaining and become part of the american society of plurality. She ought to realize that events like these protect all americans ultimately but, of course, she prefers to respond with a thinly veiled animosity showing a spiteful typical not-so-moderate muslim response! I’m sure her feelings about her american freedom of speech were fine when it came the recent islamaphobia conference. What she really doesn’t like i suspect is that this is a country built on plurality of cultures and that american people are waking up to the not-so-moderate muslims in their midst and that means they won’t get their way!

So CAIR supports and defends the act of free speech? Then there should be no problem. Why are muslims so against the depiction of muhammad anyway? – did he have leprosy that disfigured him in some grotesque way? There has to be a reason for it- I’ve heard of people who hate their picture taken but these wackos take it to the extreme.

We tell children to play nice, love, share, and care for one another and to not tease each other of draw cartoons mocking each other’s appearance or features or of their teachers because it isn’t kind and can hurt a person’s feelings and is not the way that we should see life and people or do to them,…. and what example are we carrying out what we tell them to be and do?

We do what we tell them not to do and when someone gets offended and hurt which we know they are and why we tell children not to do it our justification and excuse is that it is “freedom of speech?”

America is full of hypocrisy and is nothing that it tells the world it is and no example of what it teaches and tells children to be and why there are more people both male and female in prison there than anywhere else in the world.

“God” is not on the side of America, it’s ideology or it’s pretense and false humility neither was he behind it’s formation and it’s bloody historic wars that they are proud of and theirvlove for violence that is seen in it’s movies and television video games and even in cartoons or it’s historical racism and “humanitarian” claims that it’s history and daily life contradict in the eyes of God, and men.
