Colorado Muslim stabs officer, dropped Quran during struggle, had visited jihadist websites

It’s open season on cops, and in the case of this jihadi, Islamic groups have been exploiting Ferguson, agitating and inciting Muslims to jihad.

During the attack he was making “Islamic-type statements,” and after he was shot, he asked for his Qur’an, which had dropped out of his pocket. Nothing to see here.

Just another random Qur’an-toting mentally ill man stabbing a police officer after telling his family he was going out and not coming back.

Remember that the Islamic State recently called on Muslims to attack police.

At a press conference at the police department Monday, CCPD Chief Paul Schultz said a welfare check was conducted Friday by the Fremont County Sheriff’s office on Hudson Taylor Clark because he was “acting unusual.”

“When he was contacted by the Fremont County deputy (Friday), he was saying ‘Dear God please forgive the disbelievers. Praise be to Allah,’” he said.

According to the chief of police, the suspect’s family informed law enforcement about the multiple “jihadist websites” the suspect visited.

Schultz said he didn’t know what those particular web addresses were.

At about 2 p.m. Saturday, the suspect’s family told law enforcement that they were worried because Clark left his residence in Penrose and said he wasn’t going to return. They also said Clark was mentally disturbed, had been working out a great deal during the last two months and recently had broken up with his girlfriend….

“Mr. Clark did not respond to the officer’s commands to stop and talk to him,” he said. “Our officer went up, tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around with a eight-inch knife … Then without saying anything, stabbed corporal Sanders under the left arm toward the armpit and then continued to encroach upon him.”

Schultz said the officer told him to stop after he was injured, but he didn’t comply.

“He continued to encroach upon Corporal Sanders with the knife, which was open obviously,” he said. “Corporal Sanders then fired his handgun in self-defense, striking Mr. Clark five times.”

He was shot twice in the left arm, once in the right arm, once in the abdomen and a bullet grazed across his chest, Schultz said.

Clark was shot at while he was somewhere between four and six feet away, he said.

“The suspect at this point dropped to the ground, never lost consciousness, was bleeding profusely and continued to make comments,” Schultz said. “Next to him was the Qur’an, which fell out onto the ground and during this first aid situation at this point, he did ask for his Qur’an.”

CANON CITY, Colo. – The Cañon City Police Department says one of its officers shot a man who stabbed him during a scuffle Saturday.

The man who was shot has been identified as Hudson Taylor Clark, 32.

The Officer has been identified as Corporal Andrew Sanders.

Police said that at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Clark went to a business called Victory Defense where he stole a 9 millimeter gun and a holster.

Police said that the store clerk confronted Clark about an hour later and that Clark pulled out a knife and threatened to cut the clerk.

Corporal Sanders contacted Clark about ten minutes later. Police say Clark didn’t say a word. They say he pulled out a knife and stabbed Sanders under his left arm.

Police say that Sanders ordered Clark to stop, and that when he didn’t, Sanders shot Clark a total of five times. Twice in the left arm, once in the right arm, once in the upper abdomen and one grazing wound across his chest….

At a news conference Monday, police said that Clark dropped a Quran during the confrontation and that his family told them Clark had been making “Islamic statements” and visiting jihadist websites.

The Cañon City Police Department says federal authorities have contacted them because they are interested in the comments that Clark has made about the jihadist cause.

Police said Clark had no friends and no job. They described him as a loner. They say his family told them that he was likely mentally disturbed after breaking up with a girlfriend. They said his mother called the sheriff’s office and told them that Clark was gravely disabled and mentally ill.

Of course. We have heard that before. Funny how many mentally ill people start acting in exactly this way.
