This is treason punishable by death. This is an outrage.

“Virginia: Two Muslims convicted of piracy were ready to launch rocket-propelled grenade at Navy ship,” Thanks to Jihadwatch

They each got sentences slightly longer than forty years, rather than life imprisonment, apparently because the RPG that one of them was holding was broken and incapable of firing, or because U.S. District Judge Raymond A. Jackson believes that life imprisonment is cruel and unusual punishment. Is firing an RPG at a Navy ship not cruel and unusual punishment for those on the ship?

“Last two Somalis get time in attack on Ashland,” by Tim McGlone, The Virginian-Pilot, May 16, 2014 (thanks to Creeping Sharia):

A federal prosecutor said a Somali man convicted of piracy stood ready to launch a rocket-propelled grenade at a Navy ship four years ago.

The man, Mohamed Abdi Jama, was sentenced Thursday to 41-1/2 years in federal prison for his role in the April 2010 pirating attempt on the dock landing ship Ashland. Another Somali, Abdicasiis Cabaase, was sentenced to 42-1/2 years in prison for his role in the attack.

They were the last two of five Somalis convicted and sentenced this week for trying to hijack the Ashland.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Hatch said Jama held an RPG that day, but that it was broken and incapable of firing. Still, the sailors didn’t know that. The captain may well have believed that the pirates were capable of blowing up the bridge, he said.

“It’s a very threatening weapon. I do believe he stood ready to perform,” Hatch said.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office had sought life prison terms for each of the five Somalis, but the judge ruled that would violate the Constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment. He equated the case to attempted hostage taking.

U.S. District Judge Raymond A. Jackson said the sentences handed out this week, though less than life, “send a message to those who commit piracy.”

What a surprise! A BLAACK, Clinton-appointed judge sympathetic to our Mooslim enemies. Imagine THAT!

    • Deacon John Saturus

What does his being black have to do with this? This is exactly the kind of comment that confirms liberals in their idea that conservatives are a bunch of racists.

      • Ban Liberals

        EVERYTHING!

Being blind, you wouldn’t notice that the ENTIRE Congressional BLACK Caucus is anti-America, the ENTIRE NAACP is, Jesse Jackson is, Al Sharpton is, crazy ‘Rev.’ Wright is, Obama is, Eric Holder is, the Mooch is, etc., etc., etc.

And the last time I looked, GEE, guess what?

        THEY ARE BLAAACK!

Check out the rulings from BLAAACK activist judges and then pipe down. This has EVERYTHING to do with blacks, and by the way…

Thanks for making my point, liberal, by doing what liberals cannot refrain from doing: hurling the RAAACIST word.

Oh — one more thing — was it RAAACIST for 97 PERCENT OF BLAACKS TO VOTE FOR OBUMMA?

The fact that an obscure candidate, with little relevant experience (being a lawyer and freshman Senator is not enough), with decades in his life unaccounted for, with early life constructed in hindsight (to meet strong public demand) appeared from out of left field and never the less elected to become POTUS, has a great deal do do with his color…

BhO was elected on a wave of populous ‘affirmative action’ racism! (‘positive’ racism – preference of race on merit)

Voting for the first ‘black’ candidate (despite his mediocre/incomplete credentials/record) was a fantastic opportunity for millions of white Americans to be part of an historic event that had a strong emotional/psychological component to it.

By voting for BhO, many Americans were given the opportunity to relieve some of their collective guilt re the dark times of slavery/segregation (still tainting the US past) in a relatively easy way…

The problem is, that many of these white Americans allowed themselves to be sucked (with the help of a liberal, progressive media that campaigned for their favorite candidate) into the rhetoric/hype/promises of BhO+Media mostly due to his color without sufficiently considering the many problematic aspects of his candidacy, biography, affiliations and checkered/missing record.

Millions of white Americans voted for BhO for their personal emotional reasons, rather then rational ones.

As for the black Judge BL was referring to:

Most blacks are democrats, even more blacks that were appointed to federal positions by Democrat administrations, are democrats.

Democrats with their cultural relativism, multiculturalism, liberal/progressive leanings/sensibilities, are infamous for being lenient/apologetic to the “quirks” (as deadly as these “quirks” may be…) of other, foreign, “exotic”, minority “cultures”… BL was only connecting the dots.

If you can’t recognize the facts, you sure as heck aren’t going to fix the problem, knucklehead.

      • Clare

And it is Progressive crackers that pull out the worn out race card every time. Progressives are using minorities in some kind of retro phony ginned up race war. Ain’t gonna happen. It’s ignorant. It’s 2014 and we know that Progressives are baiting. That damned Obama, his wife, and his cabal have got to go.

Hostage taking? Really? Did the man holding the RPG know it would not work? Did those on the ship? So….they get a lighter sentence because their plans did not work? Geez we have certainly become the most Anti-American country in the world and we are America! This is pandering to a group of people who are hell bent on our destruction. Wonder if the judge would have felt any differently if he or his son were on that ship? smh

Did you know that Anwar Awlaki was thought to be a moderate Muslim? How can you really tell the difference because of “Taqiyya”. He was the most dangerous ideologue in the World.

We have yet to learn from the tragedy of 9/11. After over a decade of violence and terror from Islam, it has not been resolved. Ayaan Hirsi Ali perhaps said it best, “Violence is inherent in Islam”. It must be noted that Ayaan has won every single debate on the subject as to whether or not Islam is a religion of peace. It is not. She speaks from experience as a former Muslim, and speaks out against radical Islam and Sharia Law. She has been accused of hate speech and has death threats on her life, merely for telling the truth.

There was a time when our government thought that Anwar Awlaki

(American born terrorist and Iman preacher at a Virginia Mosque and main recruiter for al Qaeda) was a moderate Muslim, and actually invited him to speak at a luncheon at the office of Government Counsel Congress and our military officers. And allowed him to train many Muslim Chaplains. (how naive our own government was and still is)

He had them all fooled, using taqiyya (The practice of concealing one’s beliefs in dangerous circumstances originates in the Qur’an, which deems blameless those who disguise their beliefs in such cases.[8] The practice of taqiyya in difficult circumstances is considered legitimate by Muslims of various sects. Practically, taqiyya is any form of lying, deceit,

misleading, half-truths or related practices condoned by Islamic doctrine to further the growth of Islam or to protect the individual from harm.

Taqiyya is one of the reasons we are “surprised” by acts of violence

or terror from those previously considered to be “moderate”Muslims. .”

In other words, it is OK for Muslims to lie to accomplish their mission. He was an American born terrorist who incited English speaking Muslims to commit terrorist acts. He preached to 3 of the 9/11 hijackers and was linked with Nidal Hassan who committed the Fort Hood massacre. Awlaki preached a hateful ideology an inciting violence against America and a leader of Al Qaeda.

A good friend of Anwar Awlaki is Ism Suhaib Webb who worked alongside of Awlaki and also joined alQaeda. Where do you think Ism Sahib Webbis today, almost too shocking to believe but he teaches the future of Muslim Leadership in America at a college in Claremont, California called Bayan College (Bayan known for Honest Man?)

    How pathetic and perhaps dangerous?

Why he was even allowed back into the United States for his

known terrorist connections why was he not arrested let alone teaches at a college? He apparently has convinced the government that he is a moderate Muslim, (will we never learn that it’s OK to lie?) Just Google “theprojectmuslimbrotherhood” their doctrine to destroy America from within by stealth jihad, lies and deception just like Anwar Awlaki, who had the majority of our governments convinced, he was just a moderate Muslim. . Anwar Awlaki, the leader of Al Qaeda was killed in a drone attack by President Obama. Authorized drone attack on 9/20/2011.

The mainstream news has no idea that this man “Ism Suhaib Webb” is now teaching at Bayan College, nor do they care. . Also on the staff, is Salam Al Marayati, who has defended terrorist acts and the groups that carry them out? Dr.Asifa Quraishi Landes who defends Sharia law is also on the staff there. Perhaps this college should be investigated,

or at least the entire faculty investigated. We need to see what is really being taught there, before we have another “clone” of Anwar Awlaki in America.

    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Exodus 20

    Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

    The Ten Commandments

20 These are the things God told his people:

2 “I am the Lord your God. I am the one who freed you from the land of Egypt, where you were slaves.

3 “You must not worship any other gods except me.

4 “You must not make any idols. Don’t make any statues or pictures of anything up in the sky or of anything on the earth or of anything down in the water. 5 Don’t worship or serve idols of any kind, because I, the Lord, am your God. I hate my people worshiping other gods.[a] People who sin against me become my enemies, and I will punish them. And I will punish their children, their grandchildren, and even their great-grandchildren. 6 But I will be very kind to people who love me and obey my commands. I will be kind to their families for thousands of generations.[b]

7 “You must not use the name of the Lord your God to make empty promises. If you do, the Lord will not let you go unpunished.

8 “You must remember to keep the Sabbath a special day. 9 You may work six days a week to do your job. 10 But the seventh day is a day of rest in honor of the Lord your God. So on that day no one should work—not you, your sons and daughters, or your men and women slaves. Even your animals and the foreigners living in your cities must not work! 11 That is because the Lord worked six days and made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in them. And on the seventh day, he rested. In this way the Lord blessed the Sabbath—the day of rest. He made that a very special day.

12 “You must honor and respect your father and your mother. Do this so that you will have a full life in the land that the Lord your God gives you.

13 “You must not murder anyone.

14 “You must not commit adultery.

15 “You must not steal anything.

16 “You must not tell lies about other people.[c]

17 “You must not want to take your neighbor’s house. You must not want his wife. And you must not want his men and women servants or his cattle or his donkeys. You must not want to take anything that belongs to another person.”

The People Are Afraid of God

18 During all this time, the people in the valley heard the thundering and saw the lightning on the mountain. They saw smoke rising from the mountain and heard the sound of the trumpet. They were afraid and shook with fear. They stood away from the mountain and watched. 19 Then the people said to Moses, “If you want to speak to us, then we will listen. But please don’t let God speak to us. If this happens, we will die.”
