The Examiner: “Washington, DC bus ad resurrects memory of forgotten Muslim Nazi SS Division”

People are talking about the Mufti — excelsior! Perhaps they will begin to understand and explore Islamic history and the terrible toll that ignorance of that bloody history exacts.

Once understood, the Islamic/Israeli conflict makes complete sense, the Hamas charter (citing Allah) makes complete sense, the jihad against the Jews makes complete sense.

“Washington, DC bus ad resurrects memory of forgotten Muslim Nazi SS Division,” Timothy Whiteman, The Examiner, May 19, 2014

The Washington, DC Metrobus system has just found themselves in the middle of another Israeli-Arab conflict. But instead of a shooting war, the mass transit vehicles are in what sounds more like the title of a reality show. As reported by the conservative-leaning Mediaite news portal on May 19, 2014, the nation’s capital is about be be knee-deep in the middle of an advertisement war.

Pro-Israel activist Pamela Geller seeks to have her own bus ad to counter one recently ran by the anti-Israel group American Muslims for Palestine which called for all American foreign aid to the Jewish State brought to a speedy end. To reciprocate, Geller’s own organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, calls for an equally speedy end of all American foreign aid to “Islamic countries.”

Not her first go-’round with DC authorities, Geller had to take the WAMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) to court in 2012 in order to exercise what she believes was her right to respond to a “Jew-hating” ad previously ran by the American Muslims for Palestine grand_mufti_reviews_waffen_ss_handschargroup.

To hammer her point home in the latest advertisement battle, Geller’s placard prominently features a photograph of the meeting between German dictator Adolf Hitler and the Muslim cleric Haj Amin el-Husseini, who was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during World War II.

Little known by many in the United States, Husseini was an ardent pro-Nazi who convinced Hitler and SS strongman Heinrich Himmer to allow Balkan Muslims to form their own fighting force to serve the Nazi regime. However, there have been some who have sought to educate the West of Husseini’s history of joining forces with the Nazis to kill as many Jews as possible.

Hitler’s Pope…?

As David Horowitz’s book Unholy Alliance was reviewed by Rabbi David G. Dalin in Front Page Magazine in 2005, as the rabbi noted:

Precisely at the moment when Pope Pius XII and the Catholic Church in Rome (and throughout Europe) was saving thousands of Jewish lives, Hitler had a cleric broadcasting from Berlin who called for the extermination of the Jews.

He was Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the viciously anti-Semitic Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who resided in Berlin as a welcome guest and ally of the Nazis throughout the years of the Holocaust.

Hajj Amin al-Husseini has inspired two generations of radical Islamic leaders to carry on Hitler’s war against the Jews, which is why today, as was true 60 years ago, it is not the Catholic Church that is the great threat to the survival of the Jewish people; it is Islamofascism.

Officially known as the 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar (1st Croatian), the first non-Germanic SS Division was also referred to as either the “Kroatische SS-Freiwilligen-Division” (Croatian SS-Volunteer Division) or the “Muselmanen-Division” (Muslim Division). Yet the Waffen SS Division was best known as simply the Handschar Division, named after the Turkish fighting knife or short sword carried by Turk policemen and soldiers during the centuries that the Balkans were part of the old Ottoman Empire.
