Screen Shot 2014-02-13 at 8.31.28 PMThe survey is hardly surprising. Muslim hate of love day is nothing new. Let’s hope that the death toll is not too high today. Valentineophobia can be vicious. The Muslim’s attitude towards Valentine’s Day (Islamweb): “The Muslim’s attitude towards this holiday should be clear:

1- He should not celebrate it, or join others in their celebrations of it, or attend their celebrations because it is forbidden to celebrate the festivals of non-Muslims.

Valentine's Day

Muslim website: 84% see Valentine’s Day as unacceptable innovation, “an aspect of imitating the West” (thanks to Jihadwatch)

OnIslamValentine

Bid’ah is innovation, which is unacceptable because “this day I have perfected your religion for you” (Qur’an 5:3).

And the West should not be imitated; only Muhammad, the “excellent example” for all Muslims (cf. Qur’an 33:21), should be imitated. And he gave no Valentines, especially to the kuffar: “Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are merciful to one another, harsh to the disbelievers (Qur’an 48:29).

This view, of course, is widespread among Muslims.

“Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.” — Ayatollah Khomeini

The survey is here.
