Mark Steyn: “CSI Chabad”

Check out Mark Steyn's third assault on the sharia police in York who threatened a Rabbi into cancelling my speech at the Chabad shul. Steyn is wicked good:

A couple of days ago, I wrote
about Pamela Geller’s getting bounced from a Toronto-area synagogue
after Inspector Ricky Veerappan of the York Regional Police “Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion Bureau” went and leaned on the rabbi.

It
seems Rabbi Kaplan and Speech Commissar Veerappan have tangled before.
The rabbi was previously investigated by the Diversity Enforcers for a
“very homophobic” sermon. When a Muslim diversity cop investigates you
for “Islamophobia,” it’s unlikely to end well. But, when a Muslim
diversity cop investigates you for “homophobia”, your odds are somewhat improved:

The police conclusion suggests that homophobia is okay so long as it’s framed within the context of religious scripture.

So all you imams calling for the execution of all homosexuals, have at it.

On the other hand, it took Rabbi Kaplan some time to be “cleared” by the York Regional Police Diversity Bureau:

started looking into the matter in August. Over five months, police
interviewed about 25 people, including religious leaders, gay and
lesbian community members, the provincial Crown’s office, theologians
and other “subject-matter experts,” Apple says.

Twenty-first
century Canada — a land where cops take five months and interview 25
people over something a rabbi says in a synagogue.

BONUS: The York Regional Police Diversity Bureau has no problem with its in-house imam, Abdul Hai Patel, attending conferences of the terror-linked World Muslim League, which among other things provided a handy chatroom for Tamerlan Tsarnaev to meet like-minded types.

I have gay friends, and they are NOT child rapists, but, one wonders if, by assailing “homophobia,” ol’ Ricky isn’t protecting his Muslim buddies who ARE boy rapists. As we know, boy rape is rampant in the Muslim world. Rumor has it that Saddam Hussein was gang-raped in an alley when he was 11 years old. That whole area where he lived at the time was one of constantly gang-rape in the streets. Look how well he turned out!
In the meantime, being a Muslim and defending homosexuality appear superficially to be at odds, so this guy makes NO sense in what he finds “offensive.”
All I can say, is thank the American Founding Fathers for the First Amendment. If one isn’t fighting for one’s First Amendment rights against fascists like Ricky, one is not being vigilant in protecting one’s freedoms.

Oh wait – here’s the rub:

Of course, the police had to let him off, because otherwise they’d have to shut down all the religious hate speech against gays by Muslim fanatics. So, Ricky’s department has established a dangerous precedent to give his office the authority to leave the gay-hating Muslim fanatics alone.
