What the NY Times Will Run: Anti-Catholic Smear Ads

60

Did you see the virulently anti-Catholic ad that ran in the New York Times last week? That ad inspired AFDI/SIOA, in cooperation with SION (Stop Islamization of Nations), to create the same ad but for one thing: different religion. The craven quislings at the New York Times rejected our ad.

Bob Christie, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for the New York Times, just called me to advise me that they would be accepting my ad, but considering the situation on the ground in Afghanistan, now would not be a good time, as they did not want to enflame an already hot situation. They will be reconsidering it for publication in "a few months."

So I said to Mr. Christie, “Isn’t this the very point of the ad? If you feared the Catholics were going to attack the New York Times building, would you have run that ad?”

Mr. Christie said, “I’m not here to discuss the anti-Catholic ad.”

I said, “But I am, it’s the exact same ad.”

He said, “No, it’s not.”

I said, “I can’t believe you’re bowing to this Islamic barbarity and thuggery. I can’t believe this is the narrative. You’re not accepting my ad. You’re rejecting my ad. You can’t even say it.”

We used the same language as the anti-Catholic ad. The only difference is, ours was true and what we describe is true. The anti-Catholic ad was written by fallacious feminazis.

New York Times Anti-Catholic Ad

New_york_crimes_rally_023

It is most disingenous for the New York Times to refuse to run our counter-jihad ad based on their "concern for US troops in Afghanistan." Liars. Who has done more to jeopardize our troops and American citizens  than the pro-jihadist New York Times? They are notorious for their treasonous reportage.

We protested their treason.

The New York Times leaked FISA and admitted that they released this information knowing that it would damage national security. Porter Goss told the Senate at that time that the New York Times leaks had damaged our intelligence gathering capability, and in so doing, our national security.

The NY Times exposed a "highly classified Pentagon order" authorizing Special Operations forces to hunt al-Qaida leaders in mountains of Pakistan. The New York Times exposed SWIFT (which put military and civilians at great risk of jihad). SWIFT was a legal secret program that gave the government access to a massive database of international financial transactions, using "broad subpoenas to collect the financial records from an international system."

“President Bush is concerned that once again The New York Times has chosen to expose a classified program that is working to protect our citizens.” (here)

But they have no reservation submitting to the bloody demands of sharia. This is surrender to savagery.

Open Letter to "moderate" Muslims:
It’s time to quit Islam.
It’s your moment of truth. Will it be religious freedom, freedom of speech, or back to the Dark Ages? Do you choose women and their rights, or imams and their wrongs? Whose side are you on?

In light of the ongoing, ruthless, international jihad against non-Muslims, the 1,400-year record of institutionalized oppression of women, the 18,560 Islamic attacks across the world since 9/11, and the endangering of free peoples across the world, if you’re part of the Islamic jihad, you’re part of the problem.
Why are you aiding and abetting Islamic leaders who have repeatedly and publicly announced a jihad to subjugate Christians, Jews, Hindus, and all non-Muslims, and to deny the rights of all women everywhere, Muslim or not?

Think of the acute misery, poverty, needless suffering, social evils and deaths that can be laid directly at the door of the Islam's antiquated doctrine that commands jihad and genocide.
If you imagine you can change the mosque from within — get it to lighten up on Jew-hatred, hatred of women, hatred of non-Muslims, hatred of gays  — you are deluding yourself. If you remain a “good Muslim,” you are doing “bad” to the rights of women and non-Muslims everywhere. You’re kidding yourself if you think the mosque is ever going to expunge the Qur'an of its violent texts that inspire jihad, or interpret them out of existence.
Your mosque hysterically claims that freedom of speech and the truth about jihad and Islamic supremacism are “an assault against Islam.” You are savvy enough to realize that the real assault is by the mosque against human rights. A captured internal document of the Muslim Brotherhood declares that its goal in the U.S. is "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house." Is that an agenda you endorse?

Obama has compromised, but Islam never budges. Instead, it is fully embarked upon a stealth jihad, using the Justice Department to force businesses and educational institutions to accommodate Islamic law — the same Islamic law that denies the freedom of speech, mandates death for apostates, and oppresses women and non-Muslims.

Why put up with an institution that dehumanizes women and non-Muslims — fully 9/10ths of humanity? Ask your imam: Does he support Hamas? Hizb'Allah? The destruction of Israel? Does he condemn the slaughter of Christians in Egypt, Pakistan, Nigeria, Iraq, etc.? Does he vocally denounce Islamic honor killings, FGM, forced marriages, child marriage, polygamy? As a "moderate" Muslim, you tell yourself and the world that you have chucked out the violent doctrine and hateful, oppressive decrees of your religion, and yet you keep identifying with the ideology that threatens liberty for women and menaces freedom by slaughtering, oppressing and subjugating non-Muslims.
There is a more welcoming home for you!

Join those of us who put humanity above the vengeful, hateful and violent teachings of Islam's "prophet."

As a member of the “umma,” of an avowedly hateful, supremacist, and antidemocratic club, isn’t it time you vote with your feet? Please, exit en mosque.

Here is the text for the anti-Catholic ad:

Dear ‘Liberal’ Catholic:

It’s time to quit the Roman Catholic Church.

It’s your moment of truth. Will it be reproductive freedom, or back to the Dark Ages? Do you choose women and their rights, or Bishops and their wrongs? Whose side are you on, anyway?

It is time to make known your dissent from the Catholic Church, in light of the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops’ ruthless campaign endangering the right to contraception. If you’re part of the Catholic Church, you’re part of the problem.

Why are you propping up the pillars of a tyrannical and autocratic, woman-hating, sex-perverting, antediluvian Old Boys Club? Why are you aiding and abetting a church that has repeatedly and publicly announced a crusade to ban contraception, abortion and sterilization, and to deny the right of all women everywhere, Catholic or not, to decide whether and when to become mothers? When it comes to reproductive freedom, the Roman Catholic Church is Public Enemy Number One. Think of the acute misery, poverty, needless suffering, unwanted pregnancies, social evils and deaths that can be laid directly at the door of the Church’s antiquated doctrine that birth control is a sin and must be outlawed.

A backer of the Roman Catholic presidential candidate says that if women want to avoid pregnancy we should put an aspirin between our knees? Catholic politicians are urging that the right to contraception should be left up to states? Nearly 50 years after the Supreme Court upheld contraception as a privacy right, we’re going to have to defend this basic freedom all over again?

You’re better than your church. So why? Why continue to attend Mass? Tithe? Why dutifully sacrifice to send your children to parochial schools so they can be brainwashed into the next generation of myrmidons (and, potentially, become the next Church victims)? For that matter, why have you put up with an institution that won’t put up with women priests, that excludes half of humanity?

No self-respecting feminist, civil libertarian or progressive should cling to the Catholic faith. As a Cafeteria Catholic, you chuck out the stale doctrine and moldy decrees of your religion, but keep patronizing the establishment that menaces public health by serving rotten offerings. Your continuing Catholic membership, as a “liberal,” casts a veneer of respectability upon an irrational sect determined to blow out the Enlightenment and threaten liberty for women worldwide. You are an enabler. And it’s got to stop.

If you imagine you can change the church from within — get it to lighten up on birth control, gay rights, marriage equality, embryonic stem-cell research — you are deluding yourself. If you remain a “good Catholic,” you are doing “bad” to women’s rights. You’re kidding yourself if you think the Church is ever going to add a Doctrine of Immaculate ContraCeption.

It is disgraceful that U.S. health care reform is being held hostage to the Catholic Church’s bizarre opposition to medically prescribed contraception. No politician should jeopardize electability for failure to genuflect before the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. (Question to ask your Bishop: Does he hold up an umbrella against the rain? Isn’t that just as “unnatural” as using a condom or diaphragm?)

Your Church hysterically claims that secular medical policy is “an assault against religious liberty.” You are savvy enough to realize that the real assault is by the Church against women’s rights and health care. As Nation columnist Katha Pollitt asks: Is it an offense against Jehovah Witnesses that health care coverage will include blood transfusions? The Amish, as Pollitt points out, don’t label cars “an assault on religious liberty” and try to force everyone to drive buggies. The louder the Church cries “offense against religious liberty” the harder it works to take away women’s liberty.

Obama has compromised, but the Church never budges, instead launching a vengeful modern-day Inquisition. Look at its continuing directives to parish priests to use their pulpits every Sunday to lobby you against Obama’s policy, the Church’s announcement of a major anti-contraception media campaign — using your tithes, contributions and donations — to defeat Obama’s laudable health care policy. The Church has introduced into Congress the “Respect for Rights of Conscience Act, ” a bill to place the conscienceless Catholic Church’s “rights of conscience” above the rights of conscience of 53 percent of Americans. That the Church has “conscience rights” to deny women their rights is a kissing cousin to the claim that “corporations are people.” The Church that hasn’t persuaded you to oppose contraception now wants to use the force of secular law to deny contraceptive rights to non-Catholics.

But is there any point in going on? After all, your misplaced loyalty has lasted through two decades of public sex scandals involving preying priests, children you may have known as victims, and church complicity, collusion and coverup going all the way to the top. Are you like the battered woman who, after being beaten down every Sunday, feels she has no place else to go?

But we have a more welcoming home to offer, free of incense-fogged ritual, free of what freethinker Bertrand Russell called “ideas uttered long ago by ignorant men,” free of blind obedience to an illusory religious authority. Join those of us who put humanity above dogma.

As a member of the “flock” of an avowedly antidemocratic club, isn’t it time you vote with your feet? Please, exit en Mass.

The Left Angeles Times is bad, but the NYT is the worst. I subscribe to the LA Times mostly because it gives me something to recycle on the weekend but at least I know how to read a ‘news’paper critically – many who don’t have that skill think they are well informed because they read the pulp and watch the tube. Righteously well informed at that. I know folks who refuse to believe an event has transpired if they don’t see it reported by the elite media. The way the ‘news’ is reported in the LA Times is so full of opinion the entire friggin’ paper should be classified as editorial. On important stories I’m often aware of the pertinent facts before the story hits the paper because I scour the net for information and so I can identify the glaring omission in the Time’s reporting. I’m sure I’m not the only one who openly swears at the paper while I’m reading it.

This is yet another excellent example of what I call Silencing Americans Through Fear. All the Islamists have to do is show a little fight, cause a few riots and we will never, ever debase Islam or Korans ever again. OH NO….we do not want to offend them, they may riot. They may cause someones death. Heaven forbid!!
So we do nothing. We remain silent. We cower in our little corners, and keep our mouths shut. We stifle ourselves and throw our Freedom of Speech into the trash.
The Infidel Task Force has dedicated an entire page of articles such as this one. And that is where Pam Gellers article is going to reside.

Ms. Gaylor and her bidey-in Dan Barker apparently relish standing up to true believers.
So the deeper question is: Why aren’t Gaylor & Barker running Pamela’s ad? That is to say, why didn’t they write it & run it to begin with?
Maybe Pamela should put her ad to them & see if they have the stones to run it on their website & in their literature – maybe Pam ought to ask them to write to the NY Times on her behalf and insist that the ad be run.
Yes, it’s be mighty interesting to see what position the FFRF would take regarding a second irreligious ad.
Don’t you think?

In fact why don’t we all contact the FFRF and ask them if they support Pamela’s ad? Here’s the link.

But will they be?

Of course, that “little thing” that the cartoon tries to minimize is an abortion pill, which of course is at the crux of the matter. So imagine an ad based on a cartoon like this.
“All that death and destruction (draw bombed out German cities) over this (draw canister of Zyklon B) seems a little hard to take.” Wonder if the Times would run with that.

On the issue of Afganistan if you are willing to deny free speach on the grounds that violence will occur then you are already a conquered people. However Pamela you were dead wrong about the first ad. The first ad is just as accurate as your ad. It describes the Church’s anti woman and anti birth control stance. If written by “femininazis” you mean women seeking equal rights then yes it was. I support both ads for as a Arab Pagan and a Collyridian I absolutly despised Judaism, Christianity and Islam for the barbaric cults that they are and everyone in these religions should leave them. However it seeems Pamela while rightly fighting against Islam is an apologist for Christian and Jewish barbarity just as the leftists have no problem criticizeing Christianity or Judaism but shit bricks when someone does the same to Islam

Jim Mcdonnell yes the fact that the Catholic Church is Pro Life makes them anti woman. They wish to force women to have children they do not want and can’t raise. Plus the fact that science shows that in the early stages of pregnancy an embryo/fetus/cluster of cells has no intelligence, sentience or personhood anymore then a jar of paste. Hell any given animal you encounter has more sentience, intelligence and personhood then these things and I don’t see Pro Lifers running out to be vegetarians.

Proud Pagan – I’m not going to get into a debate over abortion as I can see the merit in both sides. Because the church takes a stance on protecting the unborn does NOT make it anti-woman. If that is true, then one could just as easily say that those who are pro-choice are anti-baby. Both are over-generalizations.

@W. C. Taqiyya
The Catholic Church might have opinions against homosexuality and birth control, but
that’s all they are at this point. But in your islamonazi states men even suspected of being homosexual are murdered with impunity. The CC has also been defrocking and cooperating in the prosecution of priestly pedophiles — unlike in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where boy rape is commonplace and legal. It’s called bacha bazi. Pre-adolescent girls are also being sold into forced marriages in islamonazi states as well and if that ain’t pedophilia, I don’t know what is.

Let me explain something to you numb rats. Woman are made to carry life. Every single system in the female body in directly connected to this function. When a woman loses a child, wanted or not, the loss will be profound, and “after the choice” of abortion, like to hear the truth or not, mental and emotional torture abound for years. Only liars pretend this is not the truth. If you cut off a limb, will you not miss it? If you cut off a breast, will you not miss it? When you cut off a developing life, not only does a woman miss it, but will mourn it for the rest of her days. I know, lie on….lie on and on and on. Deny all you want. A clitorectomie is mild compared to the scares left behind on a womans life post abortion. Liberals, and abortionists, and mad scientists, and Dr’s. and pro-death politicians (obama) must be so proud! Catholic bash all you dirt bags want, at least we try to keep life a priority when Dr. Death has it in for our human population. It’s not normal, in in-humane! Go eat cardboard.

Jim Mac, if you’re detecting some anti-Catholic bias in my post, you’re greviously mistaken. I was born and raised Catholic. I was simply trying to illustrate the vileness of the cartoon.
And BTW, I am well acqainted with Steve Benson, the Marxist POS who drew that cartoon. He’s been the editorial cartoonist for the Arizona “Peoples” Republic for thirty years. In fact, I first saw this particular cartoon a few weeks ago; he’s done much worse. Indeed, tens of thousands of readers have cancelled subscriptions to the Republic on account of Benson’s grossly offensive cartoons. And yet the Republic continues to allow him to be insanely offensive
And would you believe this Benson is a grandson of Ezra Taft Benson, 13th (out of 16) President of the Mormon LDS Church and one time Sec of Agricultire under Eisenhower? And this is how he shows gratitude for his priviledged background?

On the face of it, you have to agree with the decision of the New York Times. The American Muslonazi community is bloodthirsty, violent and unable to control their vile Quranic tendencies. Look how CAIR reacted to a cartoon they didn’t like – how many indictments for Jihad have been handed down because of a bear costume? If this Ad were to run, dozens of innocent people would be ritually slaughtered to Mohammed – both in New York and in Shari’ah-adherent Afghanistan.
But at least the New York Times can stop running those puff pieces that try to make our enemy – the “Palestinian” cockroaches, the American Muslonazi colonists, the Afghani and Iraqi savages – appear to be “just like us”. Quranimals are not “just like us”. As this letter admits, Mohammedans will immediately resort to Shari’ah-mandated violence if they disagree with a cartoon they don’t like.

@Callmelennie Sorry, Call, I was responding to Proud Pagan’s comment right below yours, I saw your name above it and thought it went with his post. Interesting stuff about Steve Benson. I’m wondering, is he only ‘offensive’ to institutions that can critisize freely, like Christianity, America and Israel? Or does he ever show some spine and satarize the Religion of Peace? It’s not that unusual to see someone who is the polar opposite of their forebearers. I know Ronald Reagan’s son (not Michael) is a left wing talk show host. Madalynne Murray O’Hare’s son is an Evangelist, there’s others I just can’t think of now. Anyway, I did read your original post and I like the analogy!

BELOW IS A POST FROM THE COMMENTS SECTION TO A ROD DREHER ARTICLE IN THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE MAGAZINE (www.amconmag.com), ON JUST THIS TOPIC. NOT ALL THE COMMENTS WERE THIS NEGATIVE TOWARD MS. GELLER, BUT IT IS NOT ATYPICAL, EITHER. WOULD LIKE TO SEE A RESPONSE, ESPECIALLY FROM PAMELA GELLER:
Franklin Evans, on March 14th, 2012 at 11:56 am Said:
Open post to Pamela Geller:
Dear Pamela,
Cry me a river while you’re at it.
It’s not up to you to decide what is or is not in the best interests of the US, particularly for our sons and daughters in the line of fire. Permit me a moment of passion: It’s not that your ad would provoke Muslims, it’s that some of our sons and daughters will possibly pay the price for your words.
I don’t personally like the letter you got from the Times. If I were Mr. Christie — and I’m doing it now — I’d have advised you to have your lawyer contact the US State Dept. and ask their advice on what he is telling you.
Freedom of speech and the press stops at our borders. It has no validity inside Afghanistan, Pakistan and even some of our friendlier and pacific allies. Muslims in the US would be required to tolerate your ad, but not the Muslims in those other places.
Pamela, you are being provocative for its own sake. As a citizen, I personally and ethically oppose your ad at this time.
Signed,
Franklin Evans

ANOTHER BIT OF READER COMMENTARY FROM THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE (www.amconmag.com). ANY RESPONSES?
JT, on March 14th, 2012 at 3:54 pm Said:
the Times has a double standard here. I think Lasorda is right about this. It is useful to establish it, though.
What’s at issue, and what remains at issue as long as someone as toxic as Geller is involved, is what precisely the standard is. If a virulently anti-Catholic–and specifically anti-Catholic, not anti-religious–group had brought the first ad to the NYT, would they have accepted it? I don’t know. I kind of doubt it.
That’s not to say an Muslim version of the add from, e.g., atheists would have been accepted. But nothing has actually been established, because Geller is too tainted to do so.

@ Jim McKee,
Way to miss the point, Jimmy. The “right” to do something is NEVER a sufficient argument in favor of doing something. There is no “law” prohibiting people from picking their noses in public, and therefore, you have a “right” to do so. There is also no “law” prohibiting people from spouting racial epithets at one another on a public bus, another “right.” Common sense, and decency, should tell us not to.
As to whether “those lives matter,” by what pretzel “logic” do you arrive at the conclusion that those lost lives are more important than the lives of those who are in actual harm’s way? Apparently, neither you nor anyone you care about are among them, so they are a mere rhetorical flourish to you. What happened to those who lost their lives is not an excuse for unnecessarily endangering the lives of those who are currently still alive and fighting, no matter how much you may wish to pretend that they were, or are, fighting for “free speech.” That was Mr. Evans point, which went right over your head.
Cut the adolescent crap.

@ benjie,
Whether or not FFRF is “on board” with Pamela’s adolescent screed (in imitation of thier adolescent screed), they apparently have put up an anti-Islam ad in sight of a large mosque, and an anti-Judaism ad near a large Orthodox Jewish community. Now, doesn’t that make so very proud of them, as equal opportunity adolescent nuisances, or is such behavior only permissible for Pam Geller, and those who she approves of?

Oh, and just as an aside, what if some bunch of Nazi’s were to stage a “Torah burning,” or some such? Would anyone here feel the outrage, and would you like said outrage to be belittled as a minor thing, as your phony “ad” suggests Muslim outrage over Koran burning is? Let’s hear YOUR moral consistency on that one.

traeh:
Jim Mcdonnell yes the fact that the Catholic Church is Pro Life makes them anti woman. They wish to force women to have children they do not want and can’t raise. Plus the fact that science shows that in the early stages of pregnancy an embryo/fetus/cluster of cells has no intelligence, sentience or personhood anymore then a jar of paste. Hell any given animal you encounter has more sentience, intelligence and personhood then these things and I don’t see Pro Lifers running out to be vegetarians.
It is not the rational, immortal soul’s fault that scientists cannot measure it, it is the scientists’ fault.
