Gingrich: The SOB we need

Exclusive: Pamela Geller cheers Newt's understanding of Islamic threat

Story continues below advertisement

Newt Gingrich’s victory in Saturday’s South Carolina primary means that we are still alive.

Gingrich really won the primary in the first five minutes of Friday night’s debate, when he challenged John King of CNN. King opened the debate trying to press forward the media’s campaign of destruction of Gingrich, using the 13-year-old slings and arrows of a still-bitter ex-wife. The best thing about the exchange was that Newt turned the tables with the speed and skill of a black belt and put the media on the defensive. It was brilliant, a defining moment. And the crowd cheered. People are fed up.

The country needs a tough fighter. There is a war on the American people; we are under attack from within, and the Republican establishment has been meek, cowed, defeated. Gingrich is fierce. We need a fighter to go toe-to-toe against the silver-tongued snake in the White House.

Longtime readers of my website AtlasShrugs.com know that I have not been a Gingrich fan, so he has had to have done and said extraordinary things and taken courageous positions during this GOP battle for me to support him for the GOP nomination.

And he has. Gingrich continues to persuade me with his arguments. I pricked up my ears a few months back, when Gingrich said that he would pursue the prosecutions of the unindicted co-conspirators (CAIR, MSA, MAS, ICNA, ISNA, etc.) named in the largest terrorist-funding trial, the Holy Land Foundation conviction. Is it any wonder that these Muslim Brotherhood groups are quaking in their jackboots? Hamas-tied CAIR just called him “one of the nation’s worst promoters of anti-Muslim bigotry.” It’s a badge of honor.

Gingrich has also enraged them by coming out against Islamic law (Shariah), the most repressive political ideology on the planet today. He said last week: “A truly modern person who happened to worship Allah would not be a threat; a person who belonged to any kind of belief in Shariah, any effort to impose it on the rest of us, would be a mortal threat.” He said he was “totally opposed” to the use of Shariah in American courts and support laws against it.

Also last week, Gingrich stated that the “rising Islamization of Turkey has been accompanied by a 1,400 percent increase in women being killed.” When someone in the enemedia asked if he would ever support a Muslim who ran for president, he said: “When you look at the application of Shariah in places like Iran, when you look at churches being burned in Nigeria and Egypt, and that the decline of Christians in Iraq from a 1,200,000 when the Americans arrived to about 500,000 today, I think it depends entirely on the person. If they are a modern person integrated in the modern world and they are prepared to recognize all religions, that’s one thing. On the other hand, if they’re Saudis, who demand that we respect them while they refuse to allow Christians to worship in Saudi Arabia, that’s something different.”

Gingrich even came out against the Islamic supremacist Ground Zero mosque, calling it a “deliberate and willful insult to the people of the United States who suffered an attack by people who are motivated by the same thing.”

And several weeks ago, Gingrich far exceeded all expectations when he spoke the truth about the fact that the “Palestinians” are an invented people, a fake nationality created by Yasser Arafat as a weapon to destroy Israel. The ensuing reaction from the Jew-hating left was visceral, but not unexpected. I was enormously disappointed, however, as the entire Republican field dumped on Gingrich for telling the truth about the Muslims in Gaza and the Jewish territories of Judea and Samaria.

Gingrich said what everyone knew: that the emperor has no clothes. But Romney, Santorum and conservative Washington insiders used Israel as their excuse for their failure to stand up for the truth when it was finally spoken. Instead of spontaneous, enthusiastic support for Gingrich’s exposing of the dirty lie, they sought to force the cat back into the bag. Shameful.

Yes, Gingrich has much to answer for. Yet while Newt has an inconsistent history, he seems a man of the time. He knows what America needs: He sees the threats from within and without, and he is pulling no punches. Romney is not strong enough for the coming battle. Newt may be an SOB, but he’s our SOB. And we need an SOB to defeat the snake in the White House.

“The fight has gotten so bitter and acrimonious with only three states chosen because neither side thinks the other side can win. Gingrich supporters understand that the secularists in the media — not the Democrats, but the media to the extent it can be separated from the Obama Machine — will spend six months creeping out independent suburban voters about Mormons, holy underwear, Kolob, postmortem baptism, and views on black people and then, as the coup de grace, Barack Obama will fire up millions of dollars of ads on Bain Capital raiding pension funds forcing the government to cover the debt so Mitt Romney could make millions whether he won or lost a deal.
Romney supporters understand Newt Gingrich will open his mouth.
Mitt Romney will find it very hard to beat Barack Obama because of what Barack Obama will do to him. Newt Gingrich will find it very hard to beat Barack Obama because of what Newt Gingrich will do to himself. That’s the simple truth. Both men will have amazingly difficult times beating Barack Obama. It is possible, but probability never favors picking off an incumbent just for starters.
About the only real difference between the Gingrich and Romney camps is that the Gingrich camp intuitive understands this and is happy to go down with a fighter. The Romney camp is still deluded into thinking a milquetoast moderate from Massachusetts who can’t win Iowa twice in a primary is somehow electable”

I totally agree!! If you were drowning, would you ask a person who was trying to save you, if they had problems with the police, before letting them near you?? BS!!
I would love to see West protecting my beloved America. I believe he said he feels he has not enough experience – which is 1000 times as much as Obama had when he was “crowned” president!!

Rush Limbaugh just said that Mitt Romney’s campaign said he isn’t going to repeal Obamacare. Just remove parts of it? Mr. Romney obviously lied.
I agree with you Pam. We need someone just as ruthless(I don’t mean that in a bad way,) as them. We need a General Patton right now, not Mr. Rogers. We’re fighting a war.

Allen West is a fine American but does NOT have Newt’s inside savvy. Newt has had no more stormy a career than did Winston Churchill (the Dardanelles disaster in WWI should have ended Churchill’s military career forever). Newt’s ‘ethics violation’ was completely exonerated and was a get down dirty business of character assassination. As for the ex-wives…he’s getting too old to tom-cat like he once did. Besides, I get preached to on Sunday. If you go to a politician for your sermons, you are stupider than you think that I am.

In my opinion it is in America’s best interest (and yours) if Allen West throws his hat in the ring!

I voted for Newt yesterday in Florida’s early primary voting. I hope he gets the Republican nomination. If Newt is our nominee, I know the Democrats are going to go crazy. They did so when he became Speaker of the House and they never stopped their attacks until he became “radioactive”. The Republicans at that time lost their nerves and wanted him just to go away; and that is what happened. Sadly, the Republican establishment buckled. Those Democrats and their mouthpieces are going to repeat that tactic. We, conservatives and Republicans, need to prepare ourselves for it and not lose our nerves, because that is exactly what our opponents desire. They want to make us limp and impotent so they can have their own way. We need to be assertive even under fire, and not hide behind the nearest rock when the attacks seem overwhelming. We must all come out in full-bore offense. There is no alternative for us any longer.

Gingrich does have a first rate mind, but does not inspire trust. This guy has no friends.
There is a strange disconnect between the public man and the private man. His personality is a combination of Bill Clinton, the character Chucky from movie Child’s Play, and Anthony Weiner, though Gingrich endlessly compares himself to Reagan.
There is a callous disregard for people in Gingrich, his ego is endlessly hungry for power. The reason why he may not be a good candidate is that he has (bet on it) made some bitter enemies in the GOP because he’s a SOB and those enemies will prefer to see Obama reelected than President Gingrich.
The kind of resentments that Gingrich has sown could come come back to haunt him in normal economic times.
With all that being said, if nominated he may be elected in November because the economy is in danger (in spite of all the happy horseshit talk) of sinking into a deep recession. The current “recovery” is very fragile for a number of reasons (some domestic, but mostly because of things going on overseas) and presidential elections are referendums on the economy.
Gingrich knows that this is a year in which even a SOB with a lot of baggage can be elected. (He’s sized up the economic terrain.) This year is as good as it gets for Gingrich because the perfect economic storm is brewing.
Would he make a good president? Yes. The SOB has a grasp of history that’s astonishing. This could be both the year of the SOB and the Year of the Dragon for Gingrich.

I think the secret service has to be very concerned and on their toes in protecting Gingrich if he is nominated. The Left will try to do a Herman Cain on him (Nancy pelosi is hinting at that-it’s gonna get nasty), but the economy may be so bad that the public won’t care. That’s when some crazy (inspired by the Left’s propaganda) might try and do more than a Herman Cain (a media hit) on him.

That Nancy Pelosi comment (about what she knows about Gingrich) is meant to scare Gingrich. But this guy does not scare easy and he could not care less about what people think about him (especially Nncy). Gingrich knows if there is any year he can be elected, it’s 2012.
But if Gingrich is nominated, the Left will get ugly when the media hits don’t work.

Final word re Newt:
If Newt Gingrich is elected, he could be another Teddy Roosevelt (though Teddy was basically a nice guy-as was FDR). He will push hard for energy independence for the US, he will also use the DOJ to do some trust busting of Big finance. If Gingrich loves anyone more than himself, it will be Gd and the USA. (He will also be a hard-line supporter of Israel.)
The SOB has principals, at least with regard to US interests and US history (and he loved his mother). He’s a brilliant man. No doubt re that.

Allen West is the only one in my opinion who can oust HBO from the White house. Political correctness will be on his side and will appeal to more African American voters. Secondly he holds a lot of traditional Judo-Christian values; and he is the closest to Ronald Reagan than any of the running Republican candidates. My gut feeling is HBO will get re-elected mostly because of the political correctness that plagues America. There is still hope to oust HBO. Allen West can do it! Allen? Are you listening?

You morons want politicians who lie to you and tickle your ears. You ignore the banker cartel that controls our money supply and own our politicians. Go ahead, nominate Newt and his pandering & philandering ways. Baby boomers are the most decadent, deceived generation.

Allen West is not seasoned or ready. He is still unproven. Let him be a soldier in the field for a while and prove himself.
He has barely gotten his feet wet. He does not have the grasp of the issues, intelligence, ability to articulate or the longterm prospective Newt has.
Newt is sadder but wiser, and he is unflinching in his conservative principles. He’s taken fire, bled, sacrificed for them. He bucked Bush I and paid dearly for it. His response to Pelosi: “Bring it on.”
Romney is not a principled conservative, and it’s painful to watch him try to talk, act like one. He comes off as insincere, like he’s trying to sell us a bill of goods.
Newt’s our SOB. He’s running on the bald-faced, unapologetic, God’s truth. The electorate are thrilled.
The RINO/CINO crowd are terrified.

In a perfect world, we’d have a perfect President.
Unfortunately, our Nation is on the verge of financial collapse as well as succumbing to the unrelenting pressure from pro-Islamic groups bent on Islamizing us all. Acquiescent, pliable members of our government happily play the dhimmi, never having learned that appeasement doesn’t work with bullies. It seems that cluelessness is pandemic in DC.
It’s said that you don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.
We are dealing with a well-armed thug.
We need a well-armed, battle-hardened SOB who can take a punch, and who is more than willing to pull the trigger.
If they bring a gun, we bring a bazooka.
That would be Newt.

The establishment right and left should be terrified of Newton Gingrich. He knows the inside scoop and where all the skeletons are buried. Hope they all have their ‘panties in a wad.’ as our friend Sarah P. says.
We have watched Obama rape and pillage our beautiful nation, usurp power unto himself, and stomp our laws and Constitution while these stupid, greedy, effete eunuchs stood silently pretending everything is ok and it’s all going to work out.
We feel like a group of witnesses, banging on the hood and windows of a squad car, trying to get the attention of some cops who are so busy talking about sports and eating doughnuts and Twinkies (why does Christie come to mind) they can’t hear or are ignoring us while a brutal rape and murder, drug hit and armed bank robbery are going on all around them in plain view.
It’s bizarre that none of them (except maybe Issa) are doing squat about Obama’s crimes.

I am campaigning for and will vote for the only consistent conservative (and also someone who has superlative counter-jihad credentials), Rick Santorum. Both Newt and Mittens are liberals. Newt is saying what he thinks voters want to hear, and amazingly, many people are voting for Newt without vetting him. Didn’t we have enough of that sort of behavior in 2008? A grand total of 3 states out of 50 have held primaries/caucuses, and yet some people are “calling” the race already, saying that it is down to two men. Even as I write this, Newt’s shameless lies regarding his support of Reagan and Reagan’s agenda are being exposed on the front page of the Drudge Report. Newt or Mittens will lose big against Obama. Only a conservative will win against Obama. Rick Santorum is that conservative, and a great counter-jihad patriot to boot. I am happy and proud to be on Santorum’s Florida team.

We don’t need the perfect man for the times. What we need is the right man for the times. Newt is that man. Romney is OBama-Lite. We’ve repeatedly seen what happens when we nonimate RINOs whose policies are Left of center, and who try to out-Democrat the Democrats. They lose! And the Dems laugh all the way to the winner’s circle.

It’s very good thing that Gingrich delivered a heavy punch to “invincible” Romney in Caroline.
Yes, Gingrich is not perfect. Yes, he is a SOB. But he sees massive culture wars with the establishment on the left and right. He is a fighter and he is not afraid to get his hands dirty, unlike Romney. Romney Is too slick. Too perfect for his image. He stands for nothing. What purpose does he have besides touring the country and babbling overused, bland slogans? There is none.
Romney is an excellent salesman. But as most of salesmen, he is too slick. He is too good and willing to say anything that will boost the sale . We don’t need a slick salesman to run this nation. We don’t need a nice guy in the White House. Enough with the the sale. Pam is right , the country needs a tough fighter. A war is waged against America from within and from outside and the Republican establishment indeed has become meek, cowardly and compromising. Romney is the best example.
Say no RINOs and CINOs! Newt for 2112!

How do I rate Newt? Let me count the ways…..
The GOP establishment has its panties in a wad because things aren’t going their way. CHECK!
the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR, etc. are having a hissy-fit scared to death that Newt will be the end of them in the US. CHECK!
The Dems are apoplectic that Newt will crush them in Congress just like he did before. CHECK!
Everyone has baggage. Only people who haven’t done anything or haven’t tried to anything don’t. We are on the verge of World War III and we need someone who can scare the snot out of our enemies. Can you see anyone frightened by Mitt or Rick? No!
Newt’s the right choice for the challenges we face and will face shortly. Nothing else will matter if you’re dead or enslaved.

The very Churchilian Gingrich (he has the balls and bull dog look of Britain’s greatest wartime leader) is wedded to the defense of Western Civilization against the IslamoNazi menace. And that’s the principle reason why he must be President.

No doubts, Rick is a great guy and a solid conservative republican. But,he is not a nationally viable candidate at this time. If he cannot beat Romney how then will he beat Obama?
Like Perry , he would gain a lot by stepping out and joining Newt. It would be a massive help to Newt and to the conservative cause. But given their friendship, I think Newt would take excellent care of him. It might produce Newt/Rick ticket. It would be a true nightmare for all Romneybamas, McCainebamas and for the silver-tongued snake himself. May God Bless you Rick , but now is the time to go.
