State Department reaches Blasphemy agreement with OIC in Turkey

40

Hillary Clinton actually said this to the global jihadist organization, the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation): "we each have to work to do more to promote respect for religious differences in our own countries. In the United States, I will admit, there are people who still feel vulnerable or marginalized as a result of their religious beliefs. And we have seen how the incendiary actions of just a very few people, a handful in a country of nearly 300 million, can create wide ripples of intolerance."

She said nothing about the death, brutality, gender apartheid, genocide, etc., of jihad and Islamic law; she just called out those who violated Islam's blasphemy laws by speaking of it.

This is the first traitorous administration in our nation's history.

Remarks at the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) High-Level Meeting on Combating Religious Intolerance (hat tip Larissa Scott)

Remarks

Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Center for Islamic Arts and History
Istanbul, Turkey
July 15, 2011

SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you very much, Secretary General. And thank you for your leadership in organizing this meeting. I am honored and delighted to be here with so many colleagues from around the world. And it’s a particular pleasure for me to be back at the Research Center for Islamic History, Art, and Culture in this magnificent Yildiz Palace here in Istanbul. Fifteen years ago I was here when the secretary general was then leading this organization, and he and I participated in a remarkable dialogue with representatives from Istanbul’s diverse religious communities.

That conversation took place just a few months after the signing of the Dayton Accords. We were all deeply concerned about the sectarian tensions and violence, and we were all troubled by what we had seen happen in the Balkans. I had come from Sarajevo and Tuzla, where I had met with Bosnians, Serbs, Croats, and Muslims all together. And I will never forget one woman saying that neighbors began turning on neighbor because of religious and ethnic differences. And this woman asked a friend from another religious background: “We’ve known each other for so long, we have celebrated each other’s weddings, we’ve buried each other’s family; why is this happening?” And her friend replied: “We were told that if we did not do this to you, you would do it to us.” And it was as clear a statement of what incitement to violence and hatred can lead to as any that I’ve heard. And the conflict proved so costly, we are still living with the consequences today.

In our conversation 15 years ago, I remember the secretary general talking about the imperative for us to move beyond these differences and how much the three great monotheistic religions have in common, especially our respective commandments to love our neighbors and to seek peace and understanding. Well, today, this wisdom that is ageless is as important as ever. We have seen violent attacks across our world, where those who are members of minority communities – either religious or ethnic – have been killed by their neighbors. We have seen the transitions to democracy that are so inspiring in the Middle East and North Africa, but have also exposed ethnic and religious minorities to new dangers.

And in established democracies, we are still working to protect fully our religious diversity, prevent discrimination, and protect freedom of expression. So for all of these reasons, this gathering and the shared commitment it represents is vitally important. It is one of these events that has great ramifications far beyond this room.

I want to applaud the Organization of Islamic Conference and the European Union for helping pass Resolution 1618 at the Human Rights Council. I was complimenting the secretary general on the OIC team in Geneva. I had a great team there as well. So many of you were part of that effort. And together we have begun to overcome the false divide that pits religious sensitivities against freedom of expression, and we are pursuing a new approach based on concrete steps to fight intolerance wherever it occurs. Under this resolution, the international community is taking a strong stand for freedom of expression and worship, and against discrimination and violence based upon religion or belief.

These are fundamental freedoms that belong to all people in all places, and they are certainly essential to democracy. But as the secretary general just outlined, we now need to move to implementation. The resolution calls upon states to protect freedom of religion, to counter offensive expression through education, interfaith dialogue, and public debate, and to prohibit discrimination, profiling, and hate crimes, but not to criminalize speech unless there is an incitement to imminent violence. We will be looking to all countries to hold themselves accountable and to join us in reporting to the UN’s Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights on their progress in taking these steps.

For our part, I have asked our Ambassador-at-Large for Religious Freedom, Suzan Johnson Cook, to spearhead our implementation efforts. And to build on the momentum from today’s meeting, later this year the United States intends to invite relevant experts from around the world to the first of what we hope will be a series of meetings to discuss best practices, exchange ideas, and keep us moving forward beyond the polarizing debates of the past; to build those muscles of respect and empathy and tolerance that the secretary general referenced. It is essential that we advance this new consensus and strengthen it, both at the United Nations and beyond, in order to avoid a return to the old patterns of division.

The Human Rights Council has given us a comprehensive framework for addressing this issue on the international level. But at the same time, we each have to work to do more to promote respect for religious differences in our own countries. In the United States, I will admit, there are people who still feel vulnerable or marginalized as a result of their religious beliefs. And we have seen how the incendiary actions of just a very few people, a handful in a country of nearly 300 million, can create wide ripples of intolerance.

Who is this cow talking about? Me? Spencer? Etc.?

We also understand that, for 235 years, freedom of expression has been a universal right at the core of our democracy. So we are focused on promoting interfaith education and collaboration, enforcing antidiscrimination laws, protecting the rights of all people to worship as they choose, and to use some old-fashioned techniques of peer pressure and shaming, so that people don’t feel that they have the support to do what we abhor.

In Europe, we are seeing communities coming together to address both the old scourge of anti-Semitism and the new strains of anti-Muslim bias that continue to undermine the continent’s democratic ideals. Across the Middle East and Asia, we look to both people and leaders to resist the incitement of extremists who seek to inflame sectarian tensions, and reject the persecution of religious minorities such as the Copts or Ahmadis or Baha’is.

This is so twisted that your head spins. The "old scourge of anti-semitism" is largely driven by Muslims, in line with Islamic teachings; the "new strains of anti-Muslim bias" consist of merely pointing this out.

In Egypt and Tunisia, we hope to see minorities brought into the process of drafting a new constitution and given a seat at the table as new democracies take shape

Yeah right. Slow down on those mushrooms, sHrillary.

And I know that, here in Turkey, there is a potential upcoming constitutional reform process, and we look forward to new protections for religious freedom as well. Tomorrow, I will meet with his all holiness, the ecumenical patriarch. And as I do on every trip, and as my friend Ahmet knows, we will continue to urge the Turkish Government to reopen the Halki Seminary as a symbol of Turkey’s commitment to religious freedom.

No country, including my own, has a monopoly on truth or a secret formula for ethnic and religious harmony. This takes hard work and persistence and patience. But wherever we come from and however we worship, all of us can do more in our own lives, in our positions of leadership, and in our communities, to bridge the divides that separate us. Here in Istanbul, which for so long has symbolized a bridge between cultures and continents, we have the opportunity to recommit ourselves to this goal.

Fifteen years ago in this room, the secretary general said about Istanbul, “This is a city which for over five centuries has been one of those rare lands of peace, where people of different religions live together in an environment of perfect harmony.” So if you will permit us, Secretary General and Foreign Minister, we want to take some of that spirit home from wherever we came – (laughter) – and we want to do so by transporting it in our hearts so that it is imprinted there and continues to remind us of the work ahead.

What planet is this witch on?

Thank you very much.

It is unbelievable that she can be so naive and stupid. Hasn’t she got any advisors to help with speechwriting or are they all as dumb as she is? I read somewhere that America does all the wrong things before doing the right thing. A good start at doing the right thing would be to get rid of the idiots in government. God help America. God bless America. She needs it.

Pillary; the only problem is that you like all Western leaders end up putting the onus on their own countries. There is no tolerance for other religions in Islamic Countries because it is commanded by the Quran that they subjugate all who are non Muslim. Pillary you only embolden Islam. You are essentially saying to the OIC that we will control those who are critical of Islam in our country—I got news for Pillary–NO YOU WON’T!!!
Those 56 countries that make up the OIC are the most intolerant countries on the planet.

Hitlerly Clinton is another devotee of Saul Alinsky along with her boss, the Community Organizer-in-Chief, are engaged in non-stop agitprop. This is to foster division and Balkanization. Hitlery and The Community Organizer-in-Chief want class, race and religious animosity and even warfare.
Hitlerly Clinton says:”In the United States, I will admit, there are people who still feel vulnerable or marginalized as a result of their religious beliefs.” It is manifestly evident that those who are “vulnerable or marginalized” in the United States are Christians, Jews, and anyone who believes in the rule of law based on the constitution.
I say the constitution because the left’s propaganda is that it’s some ancient document with (because of the infestation of Post-Modernism and Deconstructionism in our culture) no value or relevance in the 21st century because of the white Christians who created it. Well, other than the value and relevance the “anointed” elites such as Hitlery and the Community Organizer-in-Chief give to it. OIC speeches like this embolden our enemies and foster fear and distrust among our friends and allies.

Now just compare her approach to that of Dr. Swamy in the previous article. Frankly, Hillary is most unqualified for her position, and she has a radical, left-leaning history which most of her supporters do not even realize. Her ideology and reasoning powers come out of the same, tired old liberal box. And her solution? Appeasement, non confrontational, and doomed for failure. Dr. Swamy, however, obviously educated and well informed, actually presents a victory plan. Like night and day.

Just because some Turk said that “[Istanbul] is a city which for over five centuries has been one of those rare lands of peace, where people of different religions live together in an environment of perfect harmony” doesn’t make it so. Thousands upon thousands of ethnic Greeks who used to live in Istanbul can tell you about the “perfect harmony” that as recently as the 1950’s burned their shops and homes, killed them, drove them out, and now continues to inspire demonstrations, bombings, and other forms of aggression against the Ecumenical Patriarchate, among others.
If the depth of ignorance/naivete/political correctness/sheer maliciousness — whichever it is — betrayed by this speech and it’s use of this quotation from a lying, self-serving politico were not so horribly dangerous, it would be hysterically funny. I wish I could laugh.

When Turkey allows Christian worship in Hiaga Sophia, stops rape gangs preying on girl tourists like my daughter, returns Cyprus to the Greeks and allows the keeping of pigs and selling of pork through out the country, we will know they have turned away from the Koran, and towards the civilised people of the world. Until then, prepare for conflict or prepare for enslavement.

“… especially our respective commandments to love our neighbors and to seek peace and understanding”
Hey, Hillary, please show us where you found the Islamic commandment “to love our neighbors and to seek peace and understanding.” Show us where Muslims are taught to show kindness or tolerance toward non-Muslims, other than in tightly circumscribed ways.
One of the (many, many) bad consequences of Obama’s presidency is that it made people start to view Hillary as comparatively reasonable and competent. She is still the arrogant, deceitful radical that we saw in the 1990s.

The establishment of 3 jihad-narco fiefdoms right smack in the middle of Europe, (Bosnia Herzegovina & Kosovo) slick Willies abject pandering to the Arabs and his shameless whoring for petro-dollar$ make the Klintoon years one of the worst periods in American history.
And now the lesbian loon, accompanied for years by a Saudi mole (Huma Abedin) wants to take away our G-d given right to free speech.

The Istanbul pogrom of the 1950’s is denied by Turkish islamonazis to this day. It’s been said that the Turkish law enforcement authorities were complicit in the Istanbul pogrom. The islamonazis at one point during the pogrom were determining which men to beat down and murder based entirely on whether or not that man was circumcised. I believe they burned a Christian priest to death during the pogrom.
And then in the 1970’s we have the Turkish islamonazi invasion of Cyprus, in which half the island was turned into an islamonazi puppet state of Turkey.

Let’s not forget that “Istanbul” was once the capital of the Christian World, but it was over-run by Islamic Imperialism. There’s a good dozen or 20 countries that were Christian and are now muslim. But in the analysis of Imperialism, no mention is made of this…. That’s odd.

This calls for the Congress to call her into public hearings, immediately. I suggest on Monday that everyone call their Congressperson, Senators, the appropriate committee that gives oversight, Eric Cantor’s office and Boehner’s. All of the GOP candidates must address this.Once our Freedom of Speech has been subverted and consigned to the UN’s Council on Human Rights, that is it.We are a sovereign nation.
Depending on the nature of this agreement, the Senate must vigorously address it. If necessary, another law can be passed -and quickly- that reassures our First Amendment. Hillary must be made accountable. She is not permitted to undermine our sovereignty, or our Constitution. Can a lawyer reading this, please, discuss whether, or not, this is an impeachable offense.

This should perhaps be:
“In the USA there are people who rightly feel vulnerable or marginalized as a result of …… their own intolerant political beliefs, which intend a different political system, and which are shared by numerous co-religionists who are violent and who are oppressing women and religious minorities where they have majority and power. And we have seen how the brave and wise actions of just a few people can create wide ripples of intolerance towards the intolerant.”

Oh my gosh! Hillary has really lost it. Islam is not interested in equality of religions. They want to dominate all of us. When she talks of intolerance she is speaking of Islam. Islam has no tolerance for any religion or belief outside of it. How many religions kill people who just want to change religions? How many religions kill people for speaking freely how they feel about it?
There is so much evil associated with Islam that it boggles the mind that Hillary is so blind. I used to think she had a bit of common sense but how wrong I was. This administration has sunk to new depths of idiocy. I wonder how many people knew that when Obama said “change” he meant destroy?

Many comments describe Clinton as clueless. Perhaps she is deliberately trying to convince herself that her views are correct because of the consequences of her having to admit she has been so horribly wrong.
It is worth reading a close examination of the teaching of Christianity, Judaism and Islam on “loving your neighbour” at http://www.acommonword.blogspot.com/
“Whereas Jesus makes clear that loving one’s neighbour means loving one’s enemies, the Muslim scholars behind A COMMON WORD have been unable to offer a clear foundation in the example and teaching for Muhammad (or in the Qur’an) for loving people who are not even of one’s own religion.”

We aren’t at all surprised to heard from Mrs. Hillary Clinton such an outburst of miscarried emotions and feelings, because we actually expected it. During the last presidential campaign, while candidate Obama was addressing the public, she turned around and in a very soft voice commented: “this man is phenomenal!” This brief incident offers an inkling as to how deep her admiration for this eponymous representative of Islam, and perhaps to Islam itself, actually runs.
Nevertheless this isn’t just an aleatory incident neither circumstantial, since appeasement and compliance’s type of behaviour is known to be a genetic condition that affects the genealogical tree of the liberal and progressive individuals on any country, not just in the USA.

In her Istanbul speech Hillary Clinton was absolutely wrong on two points: 1) Islam does not share a common commandment to love our neighbors with the other great monothesitic religions. The Quran says Muslims are ruthless to unbelievers and merciful to one another. (Surah 48:29) 2)Istanbul has not been a land of peace for the past 500 years where people of different religions live together in an environment of perfect harmony. Ask any Armenian, Greek, or Assyrian about that.
That said, Clinton’s speech does not make policy. The conference at Yildiz Palace was joined by 20 countries, several regional organizations, and even the Vatican. The purpose was to endorse the Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18. None of the 34 commentators above seem to have read that resolution, which states that “open public debate of ideas, as well as interfaith and intercultural dialogue, at the local, national and international levels can be among the best protections against religious intolerance and can play a postive role in strengthening democracy and combating religious hatred, and . . that a continuing dialogue on these issues can help overcome existing misperceptions.” Not only is this statement a strong defense of freedom of speech, but it also presents a dilemma for the Islamists: The Quran is filled with anti-Jewish and anti-Christian religious hatred. Most of the Islamic nations endorsing Resolution 16/18 have laws on their books which discriminate against individuals solely on the basis of religious belief. Clinton even challenged Turkey (again) to reopen the Orthodox Halki Seminary. Resolution 16/18 will be a bigger problem for the Islamist countries than for the U.S.
